To answer your question Omnitrickery, yes. There is only 1 holy hero and 2 vassals in this world. Same for Crafter Hero. Me and the boiz plan to do a bunch of 1 hero worlds, then fuse them, then write a bunch of 2 hero worlds, then fuse again and write 4 hero worlds. Maybe we will do 8 hero worlds? But that is far away and might not even happen.

Anyone else feel free to review and ask any questions you have. Onto the story!

"Guuuuh, I was not ready for this," Clara groaned as she stumbled through the hallway. She was holding onto the railings for support as her legs trembled beneath her. She looked over at the knife stuck to her waist.

"Please tell me you have some stamina bonuses," she mumbled. She thought the gem glowed slightly brighter for a bit, but maybe the exhaustion was getting to her.

As she walked through the hallway, she noticed that the door to the kitchen was wide open, so she stumbled inside and sat down at a table.

"Hey Clara, what's gotten you down so much?" Jim asked, dropping his school bag to the side and closing the door behind him.

"It's nothin," Clara mumbled back, turning her head away from her brother.

"Nothing, huh…" he mumbled, walking to the fridge. Clara heard some rustling and the noise of water filling up a pot.

"What are you making?" she asked, turning her head towards the cooking range.

"Nothin," he fired back in a high pitched voice.

"Hey! Don't tease me!" she whined, throwing a light punch at her brother.

"Aw, but you're so fun to tease! And I can still ruffle your hair like this!" Jim exclaimed, messing up Clara's hair, much to her dismay.

"Hey! I spent all morning brushing that!" she yelled back.

"You're gonna stay in the house for the rest of the day anyway, don't worry about it," he replied. Clara crossed her arms and hopped onto the couch, pouting as her brother continued to work in the kitchen.

A few minutes later the smell of melted cheese and fresh pasta hit her nose, as Jim set a plate of pasta on the table next to here.

"Mac and cheese!" she yelled excitedly, her hair all but forgotten.

"No, it's Mac N Nothin," Jim smirked, sitting down next to her. She ignored his comment and dug into the pasta, stuffing her mouth.

"Hey, slow down, you're gonna-"

*COUGH*

"Yeah, that," Jim finished, handing her a glass of water. She gulped it down and let out a sigh of relief.

"Thanks. Will you always make mac and cheese if I'm feeling down?"

"Sure. I don't see why not? Just don't look down too often to get me to make mac and cheese, alright?" Jim laughed, but then he started to choke on a macaroni.

Clara smiled at the memory, but her mood quickly dropped again. This time Jim wasn't there to make mac and nothing for her to cheer her up.

Guess I gotta make my own pasta now.

As the macaroni was cooking in one pot, Clara pulled out another and turned the range onto low heat. She melted some butter and mixed a bit of flour into the liquid.

"Now where is the milk?" she muttered, opening the fridges. Despite being here as long as she has, she was still unfamiliar with the layout of the ingredients. There were two large freezers connected to the kitchen. She opened up the first one and saw several long rows of meat stored away.

"Ew, ok, not this one," she muttered, opening up the next freezer. She looked to the side and saw a large fish head staring at her.

"Woah!" she yelped, pointing her knife at it. She lowered it after a few seconds, realizing it was a plastic model.

"Alright, third time's the charm!" she exclaimed, opening up the third room. She smiled as she picked up several things like milk and several different types of cheese.

She ran back to the kitchen and dumped a bit of milk into the butter pot and mixed it until it became one solid mixture. While that was heating up, she cut off a piece of every cheese and shredded them into one cheezy pile. After the mixture began to bubble a bit, she turned off the heat and began to mix the cheese into the liquid until it changed its color from a white to a pale orange.

Satisfied with the mixture, she finishes it off by draining and dumping the macaroni into the mixture.

Shush! Let me eat in peace, Clara thought, waving away the message. She pushed some of the pasta onto a plate and sat down to eat. Clara smiled and took the first bite before pausing. She frowned at the second, and looked down at her plate after the third.

It's not the same…

Clara hit her hand onto the table, denting the top, before dropping her head onto the same table.

It's just not the same…

"I thought I told you to go take a break from the kitchen for now!" Goron barked, startling Clara. She dropped her fork and up to see an angry Goron walk into the kitchen.

"Sorry," Clara mumbled. Goron sighed and sat across from her.

"What did you make?" he asked. His voice was so calm that it was hard to believe that he was the same man who was barking and yelling at everyone this morning.

"Just some mac and cheese," she said. "My brother used to make this when I was having a bad day."

Goron looked down at the plate of food. To him, it looked like a bunch of cheese sprinkled on pasta with ketchup haphazardly, but he saw how Clara looked at it. Even if a little, it brought the girl some comfort and a sense of calm in this chaotic world.

"You really miss him, huh?"

Clara nodded in response, not looking up from the plate.

"My mom and dad too. I wish I could meet them, or at least write to them. They must be worried sick," she explained, her voice getting quieter and quieter.

"I'm sorry we summoned you like this. But it's not like we had much of a choice. Our whole world depends on summoning a holy hero to deal with threats we simply aren't equipped to deal with," Goron said, pointing to Clara's knife. "And that knife decided that the best person for the job was you."

"I understand that, and honestly, I'm grateful."

"Huh?"

"Just before I was summoned, I fell down the staircase and… died. I thought that was the end of it, but this weapon gave me another chance. A chance to return to my world after helping yours. It was definitely scary at first, but it started to be fun too. But…" she stopped and dropped her head into her hands.

"…Ellis…" Goron finished for her. She raised her head and nodded.

"Now… now I'm not sure if I'll make it to the end at all," she choked out. Goron walked up to her and hugged Clara.

"Don't talk like you're gonna die. You're still young, you aren't even old enough to drink yet. You still have some time to get stronger, so you'll be fine until then," he told her, patting her back softly. She hugged him back and smiled.

"Thank you. I needed that reassurance. But I also need to raise my cooking level if I want to increase my chances!" she finished, her voice returning to a more lively tone. "And I want you to help me do that!"

"Alright, you rascal. If you want me to raise your cooking level so badly, I'll do it. But don't expect me to hold back! Are you ready?"

"Ready!"

As the sunlight streamed through the shutters of her window, Clara let out a low groan. Her whole body felt sore and tired and she could barely move her arm to shield her eyes.

First Laura training, then late night cooking with Goron and the team. I don't want to get up today but both of them will kill me if I'm late.

She turned her head away from the sun and tried to go back to sleep.

Just five more minutes.

Clara's mind froze as she heard her door opening.

"Morn… oh," she heard Hol whisper as he walked into the room. She felt the knife on her waist shift a little and new messages popped up in her status menu.

[Requirements for the Armored Lizard Meat Skewer have been met]

[Requirements for the Armored Lizard Bone Knife have been met]

[Requirements for the Armored Lizard Scale Pan have been met]

[Requirements for the Armored Lizard Tooth Cleaver have been met]

Oh, isn't this the wave boss we fought? I guess Hol finally got the materials.

"Portal Farm Tool," he whispered after closing the door. Clara slowly sat up on her bed as she looked around the room.

Weird. He didn't smell like alcohol as much, she thought. Clara noticed that the bandages on her hands had loosened a bit so she pulled them down.

Clara gasped as she looked at the burned and cracked skin. The traces of flames indented on it with black cracks running across her arms. She poked one of the spots and winced as the pain jumped through her arm. Clara closed her eyes and took a deep breath in.

It's ok. The nuns at the church said that it should go away once the curse is gone. I'll have to stop by the church today as well.

Clara quickly wrapped the bandage around her arm and prepared herself for the day.

"C'mon, c'mon!" Goron barked at her when she walked into the kitchen. Well, walked was a strong word, since she was barely able to stumble into the kitchen. "Just because you were busy last night does not excuse your tardiness!"

"Yes chef!" Clara yelled back weakly. She took her spot at the chopping section and picked up another knife. She left her own dangling in one of the new forms.

Armored Lizard Meat Skewer

abilities locked equip bonus: cooking quality improvement

She currently had the meat skewer equipped for a bonus to her cooking, but it didn't seem to do anything for simply cutting or cleaning.

I guess it only works if I actually cook a meal. I'll have to try it out later.

Other than a few worried glances the day seemed to continue as normal with Goron barking orders and the different sounds of cooking filling the kitchen.

"Alright, we're done for now. Everybody out!" Goron barked once everyone finished cooking. People quickly piled out of the kitchen, leaving Goron and Clara alone.

"Before we get to anything complicated, I want to try something out with a simple dish. Is that ok?" Clara asked, pointing to her knife.

"Yeah. I'll go check the inventory while you do that," Goron replied, disappearing into the storage rooms. Clara cracked her knuckles and got to work. She pulled out the same ingredients from last night and repeated the steps, only slightly altering the combination of cheeses.

"Damn it, we need to restock on the vegetables. I'll have to m… ok, why the f*ck is your food glowing?" Goron asked as he stared at the dish. The glow faded and Clara thought she saw the macaroni move a bit and the cheese become slightly runnier.

"IT WORKED!" Clara exclaimed, startling Goron.

"Well you better explain what the f*ck worked before I throw this pile of radiation out the window," Goron threatened.

"I got a bonus that improves the quality of the food I cook! And it just gave me quite a bit more exp than I got last night."

Goron raised his finger and opened his mouth, but his words died in his throat. He tried again before giving up and leaning on the wall for a moment.

"Eh? Is everything ok?" she asked. Goron raised his hand and pointed to the no longer glowing pasta.

"So not only do you have a knife that buffs your stats, but it now buffs food quality as well?" he asked. Clara slowly nodded and dropped into the seat in front of him. "Life is unfair."

"I'm sorry," Clara mumbled.

He bit into the dish and his eyes widened. A smile crept onto his face as he went for another bite.

"How is it?" Clara asked.

"I'd give it a solid 7 out of 10. Not the best Mac and Cheese, but not the worst I supposed. Now grab your cooking tool and get over here. I have a few meetings I need to attend later, so let's go."

"I'm sorry I was late," Clara gasped as she entered the room. Her gaze fell upon Laura who was fuming in the corner of the room, her arms crossed and if looks could kill, Clara would be burned to a crisp 10 times over.

"Did I not make myself clear to be on time?"

"I'm sorry! I had training with Goron an-"

"I don't want excuses! Now give me 10 extra laps around the course for being late!" she barked, making Clara shiver.

"B-but my legs fe-"

"Did I stutter?!" Laura yelled coldly, bending one of the training equipment in the room.

"N-n-no m-ma'am," Clara whimpered and started running. She opened the status and changed her knife to the second new form.

Armored Lizard Bone Knife

abilities locked equip bonus: stamina up (small)

Thank you for the bonus uh… holy knife? I guess you can listen to me. Or I just got lucky.

Suddenly Clara felt something poke her shoulder and her body felt heavier than before.

"No bonuses! Raw strength and levels only!" Laura yelled, easily keeping pace with Clara.

I'm screwed.

"Guuuuuuuuuuh…" Clara groaned, collapsing onto the floor. "I should not have eaten before coming here."

"Well, you'll know better for next time. Oh, I also forgot to ask, how much time till the next wave?" Laura asked, helping Clara back onto her feet

"Two… *huff* days…" Clara groaned out. Laura paled and cursed loudly.

"What's wrong?"

"Two days?! I thought it was like a week or so away! Shoot! Hold on, I'll get some healing potions to help you recover faster," she panicked, reaching into her bag.

"You know, I might recover faster if you take that needle out of my shoulder," Clara mumbled as Laura pulled out a potion.

"Shoot! Right! Sorry. I don't train heroes often so…" Laura sputtered out, pouring the concoction down Clara's throat. She pulled out the needle and Clara felt her body become lighter and the soreness a bit more bearable.

"Phew. Much better," she sighed out in relief.

"Alright. Then you should rest for today and tomorrow as you prepare for the waves. I'll need to make a schedule when you return," Laura said, packing up her things. Just as she was about to leave the room, Clara grabbed her arm.

"Wait! You haven't told me how you and Hol met yet!" she reminded her.

"Oh, right. Are you sure you wanna hear it? Our first meeting didn't really go well," Laura warned.

"Tell me, tell me, tell me!" Clara demanded, sitting up as straight as she could.

"Ok, ok! Fine. I'll tell you how we first met. It all started at the queens palace"

Laura finally arrived at the palace of the queen. She was surprised when she got called on this mission. While she was one of the strongest people in her country, she was still far from the best. So when she got the order to join a legendary hero to keep an eye on them, she was shocked.

'Laura stood nervously in front of the door as she prepared herself.'

Ok, you got as much information on the hero of the farming tool as you could, you were trained for this since you were little, and you have the queen's approval. You got this.

She reached towards the door handle and took a deep breath.

'You got this. Plus, I was told he was nice to his last team.'

Just as Laura touched the handle, the door suddenly swung open. She jumped back, dodging it at the last second as a person stumbled out. A bottle in one hand, a piece of paper in the other. His armor that used to glow blue and red was covered in monster blood and guts. His hair was dirty and unkept and he reeked of alcohol.

Laura looked at the man in confusion until her eyes fell on a weirdly shaped hoe on his side. It seemed like a mix of scales and thorns with a bit of red goo on it. Or maybe that was blood, but she couldn't tell. Either way, a man with a hoe for a weapon in the queen's palace could only mean one thing.

She was in the presence of the farming tool hero. Laura bowed down and remembered the greeting she had practiced on the way here.

"Pleasure to meet you, hero of the Farming Tool. I am Laura and I'll be in yo-," she began, but she wasn't allowed to finish.

"Ah, you're the new addition to the scucide squad. Join the party and I'll teleport us both. The others are already on the ship," he grumbled, sending her a party invitation.

'Huh? '

She hesitantly accepted the invitation and raised her head at the hero.

"Shouldn't we talk a bit m-," she tried again, but Hol ignored her.

"Portal Farming Tool," he mumbled. Laura's body was engulfed by light and she felt her stomach flip. She tried to reach out to grab onto the hero's arm for support, but instead crashed onto a wooden floor.

"What was that?" she inquired, looking around.

"Cabin 27 and 28 is where the rest of the squad is. Yours is 29. Introduce yourself or whatever, I'll be back in an hour and we'll teleport to a grinding spot," he said, walking away.

"Wait! I don't even know your name!"

"Wait, I thought you did a background check on him. But you didn't even know his name?" Clara asked, confused.

"No, I did. But I had to ask as I was never introduced, and I didn't want to appear suspicious by knowing too much. Anyhow!"

"The name is Hol, but call me whatever," he grumbled and walked off.

"Bu-," she began, but he was already gone.

'This is not at all what I expected. His background check doesn't say anything about alcoholism or him not explaining things. I guess I should talk to the rest of his team?'

Laura looked around until she found the rooms Hol mentioned and knocked on the first one.

"-and that's how we met!" Laura finished, clasping her hands together.

"What?! But I wanted to hear what his party members were like!"

"Next time. You need to get some rest before the wave and I need to finish making some orders. But if you train really hard I'll tell you more," Laura smiled, helping Clara stand up.

"Aw, ok… OH RIGHT! I FORGOT!" she suddenly began to run towards the front door, but her soreness and exhaustion kicked in again, sending her tumbling.

"Woah! What was so important that you ran like that?" Laura asked, helping Clara stand again.

"I was going to asl Hol to get me to Yin Yang Islands for training!" she replied, as she continued to walk away.

"But why there? Wait, what kind of training are you even doing?" Laura questioned, following her.

"I'm still pretty new to magic and I'm also going to strengthen my skills. Yin Yang Island helps recover both SP and mana so I can train both faster," Clara explained, raising her knife.

"Oh. So you're training with me, Goron, and also magic and weapon skills with Hol?" she inquired.

"Yep!"

"Oh… Be sure not to overexert yourself then," Laura said with a hint of concern.

"I'll be alright. Plus, I have to work hard to catch up to all of you," Clara replied, staggering off to a different direction.

"Oh… good luck!" Laura said, walking away as well. I hope you're gonna be ok.

I hope this world has some mercy on you.

Welp, what a chapter right? More lore and past hero stuff. Might be its own story one day, but probably not. I have enough stories right now. But do tell, what do you think of these little bits of past sprinkled in with the main story? Like em? Hate em? I want to hear yalls opinions. And till next time!
