Episode One
Timedate: 6th October 2008
Over a week had passed since the last fight between the heroic Robotboy and Robotgirl against the mad Protoboy. The rescue was done, the battle was won, and the escape was made. Somewhere within a vast mountainous area with deep canyons and high rock formations, all underneath an even vaster dark-teal cloudy sky, was a secluded laboratory. Within this outpost, two lone humans, Professor Akira Moshimo and his assistant Miu-Miu, worked under carefully dimmed lights. They cautiously dissected and took apart nearly every bit and piece of a particular dull-gold-chrome robot spread and laid out upon a table.
Just then, a bleeping sound went off, audible for the Professor to hear behind him. Placing down his tools, the Professor went over to the source of the sound, a small device standing in the centre of a desk with a red light flashing with every bleep it made. He pressed on the button and almost immediately, the device projected the holographic image of a tanned blonde-haired block-headed boy all too familiar to the Professor himself.
"Hey Professor", the boy spoke.
"Ah greetings, Tommy", the Professor replied. "How are Robotboy, Robotgirl, and the rest of your friends?"
"Yeah, Gus and Lola are fine", Tommy nodded. "Robotboy's still a bit down about Protoboy, so is Robotgirl".
"Well, rest assured, we've recovered his body", Moshimo explained. "He's currently dormant and has a few damages from the explosion, but nothing beyond repair".
"Okay then", Tommy said before recalling. "In the meantime, we had to deal with Dr Kamikazi as usual, this time it was with his mum".
"Of course, still a mother's boy", Moshimo let out a small chuckle.
"So how exactly are you gonna..." Tommy paused his question. "You know, deprogram him? As in, not make him evil or violent".
"We're taking him apart very carefully at the moment in the hope of getting to the core", Moshimo assured. "Just needs a bit of unwiring and rewiring..." He paused as he looked back at the disassembled Protoboy and Miu-Miu handling him. "...At first".
"At first?" Tommy cocked a brow.
"You see, since he had been the way he is for a long time, thanks to Kamikazi", Moshimo said. "I'm afraid I might also have to reboot his system and overwrite most of his memory databank".
"You sure that's gonna work?" Tommy tilted his head.
"As long as patience and attention to detail remain key", Moshimo pointed. "At least by then he'll have a clean slate as well as a better chance to adjust. A better chance to do as much good as Robotboy and Robotgirl have so far".
"Especially when we still have those bad guys out there at large", Tommy added. "Kamikazi, Affenkugel, Yakitori, Felonious Hexx, and who knows what or who else there is".
"And it's for that reason among many others that I'm assigning Robotgirl to be Lola's partner, and Robotbird to be Gus' Partner", Moshimo appointed.
"Robotbird?" Tommy's eyes darted. "Gus' partner?"
"Do you think someone like Gus could easily handle Protoboy?" Moshimo said.
Tommy rubbed and scratched his chin as he pondered and thought it over. "Hmmm, knowing Gus, he could very well end up eating Robotbird, on purpose".
"I just so happened to have installed a reactive defence system into Robotbird in case anyone or anything tries to swallow him", Moshimo brought up.
"Boy would I love to see Gus' reaction if that actually happens", Tommy tried to keep in a snicker.
"In fact, I might have something special for you, Lola, and Gus as well", Moshimo explained further. "Since you too happen to be just as much targets in Kamikazi's sights as Robotboy is, Miu-Miu and I had crafted some weapons that we believe would be fitting and suitable for each of you. As we speak, they're currently under delivery and should reach your households within at least a few days".
"Sounds good", Tommy said. "I'll contact ya again once they do. It's been good calling again".
"It is indeed", Moshimo nodded in turn. "I wish you luck, over and out".
And with that, the projected holographic screen of Tommy Turnbull flickered and switched off, as did the device itself as well. The light briefly blipped once or twice before ceasing once more.
To be continued...
