"We're taking a class field trip to China the week after Winter break." Those were the words spoken to the students by their teacher one Friday afternoon.
Marinette was still very much in shock. They were really going to China! She was so happy she felt like screaming her excitement to the Paris skyline.
Marinette sighed softly to herself as she closed her locker door. With her schoolbooks in hand, the goth girl started making her way to her science class.
As she passed by a few windows, she glances out one of the windows as she walked down the never-ending hallway. As she kept on making her way toward the very end of the hallway, Marinette noticed how dark the sky was and could hear the slight pitter-patter sound on the metal roofing of the school building as the rain continued to fall.
Once the final bell had rung signaling the end of the school day, Marinette grabbed her things and ran out of the classroom. She needed to start packing and get some of her pent-up energy out before patrol later that night.
The walk home to the bakery was slow but it gave the dark-haired girl some time to think. Tonight she had patrol with Claw and Betterfly.
Once she had arrived home, Emo Marinette headed upstairs to her bedroom and started rummaging around in her closet for things to take with her to China.
"Hey Tikki? Can you help me pack my things?" Tikki's curiosity peaked as she met the wide, bright-eyes gaze of her charge.
"Of course I will Nettie," Tikki's voice was soft and gentle as she nuzzled her charge's cheek. "Are you going somewhere? Cause you sure have a lot of cloths in here."
The gothic bluenette's face lit up like a Christmas tree and her bluebell eyes sparkled with pure excitement. "Our class is taking a Felix trip the week after break! I can't wait, so I thought I might as well get a head start on packing."
The little ladybug kwami sighed sadly and floated over to the girl's closet and pulled out as much as she could carry in her small paws.
With the two girls both packing things into both Marinette's schoolbag, purse, and her overnight bag, the process went by a whole lot faster. It took only a few minutes for the two of them to finish packing everything that the young super heroine needed into the three very very small bags that she owned.
Before the girl new it, an hour had passed and it was time for her to head out to patrol the city with her partner and Betterfly.
"Tikki, Blots On!" She called for her transformation. Once transformed, Shadybug unclasped her black-and-red spotted yo-yo from her hip and tossed it forward. The black string quickly latched onto a random rooftop and propelling her forwards to the next roof.
A few more rooftops later she finally reached the spot she and the other two heroes had agreed to meet on. It was overlooking the Eiffel Tower directly across from there current location.
"Nice of you to finally join us Cockroach, what took you so long anyway?" Claw was the first to speak once she had landed on the roof.
The spotted superhero scoffed and narrowed her eyes playfully at her partner.
"Now why should I tell you that answer Kitty Catty?" She responded in return with a tteasing grin forming on her face.
After a few moments of silence had passed, Betterfly decided to speak up for the first time so far this evening.
"You two know the drill: stay on your usual routs and keep an eye out for the Supreme. No doit they'll try to pick a fight if any of us let our Guard down even for a second." The other two superheroes both nodded their heads in confirmation before the three Miraculous wielders split off into different directions.
Claw and Shady went one way while Betterfly went the other way. This was a plan they had quickly concocted upon returning home to their world. It was a way to stay low and avoid an unnecessary encounters with the Supreme.
For a while, the two heroes were silent as they ran across various different rooftops and up the sides of many different buildings. But as they reached the end of their patrol route, they stopped to catch their breath and make some smalltalk before parting ways for the night.
