(WARNING: mild talk about child abuse. Losing whole families from an accident.)

(WARNING: Okay this is where I bring in my AU side. There is a thing that is like SOUL MATES it happens when you meet someone in close contact a marking almost a tattoo appears on the wrist. I am gonna add that there is blood work to prove this. As I said AU)

Janet Evanovich owns all the characters except the OC I am bringing in. This is AU mostly because this is how I see things going. I am going to try to stick as close to the characters as I can.

This is based on the last book Dirty Thirty. She chooses Joe Morellie over Ranger and marries him. It's been a little over a year since then Ranger is 37 years old. Ranger is ready to find the right girl and settle down. Stephanie wants him happy. Someone comes into the gang's life. (I AM A BABE FAN BUT THIS IDEA CAME TO ME.)

Pairing (Joe Morellie & Stephanie Plum)(Ranger (Carlos Manso & Luce Broussard)(Lula & Tank)

(Dream)

The dream always started out the same. She saw that the semi-truck was acting funny in front of them. She had her twin brother sitting behind her father. She was behind her mother. Their baby brother was between her and her twin. His father was telling her how she was just a stupid girl like always. That was when her father noticed the weird way that the semi-truck was going. Then it swayed out of the road some as they passed, then it came back into the road and right into their car. She felt the car roll.

Then she woke up after being knocked out for a second. No one was talking. No one was screaming she couldn't scream. She reached over and touched her twin brother he wasn't moving. She couldn't get the seat belt off. She looked at her baby brother who was five years younger than her and her twin. He was seven years old. She looked like he wasn't moving either as she whimpered finally calling out Lucian's name as she looked to her twin brother. There was so much blood and that was when she passed out again knowing that she may have lost them all. She had not cared about her parents.

When she woke up she was in the hospital, and that was when she demanded they tell her about her family. She told that she was the only one to survive.

(Dream End)

Luce's motel room was in. It was cheap while she tried to find an apartment. She thought about her dream. There had been people who didn't understand that she didn't seem to care about her parent's death. She sighs not many people knew about the abuse and how bad it was. Luce didn't want them to feel sorry for her. The doctors knew they saw the cigarette burns on her back, and they saw the slash marks from where her father had spliced some cords and used them as a whip. He had also used a switch. Know her mother had never cared as long as he was beating on Luce and not here. She had told Luce once. "Know that he has you to beat on he doesn't beat me anymore." That had hurt, why couldn't her mother just leave getting them all some were safer.

Luce shook her head, this was just something she had a hard time letting go of, but she had moved on. She had not let herself get close to people. She had done six years of foster care and that brought some trauma on its own. She had gone to college for creative writing and an English lit degree. Her part-time job was not like most she had gone to the police academy after she became a part-time patrol cop. It took her four years to get through college. Know she knew that her degree and the job she had as a cop were completely different.

Though she had graduated, she stuck out of the job for one more year and became a Detective she was lucky that she got into Homicide. Well not all lucky because the job could strain your life in ways. Thought she believed she needed to give justice to victims and the families that lost loved ones. She had been twenty-three when she became a detective she was young, but she had proved herself while she was a detective. She was dedicated to the job. Mostly because she had no family and she had no one she was close to. She had one-night stands when she needed that kind of release.

The last three years as a homicide detective she had worked hard. She had some bad cases that had hardened her more than her childhood. The last one had done it he was the serial killer who had killed ten. Being a Detective in New Orleans, you came across a lot of crazy. This serial killer had done things that were something that made him stand out. Beheading and cutting other body parts. Placing them in a way that was disturbing but artistic. What they found out towards the end was there was a partner. When trying to catch them, her partner was killed and two other cops. She had taken two shots to her arm as well. She had been the one to shoot and kill the minor partner while another cop cuffed the main partner.

After all that she had retired from being a detective. She had decided that this time she would move out of the south. When she graduated from college, she left Georgia, her childhood trauma all happened in Atlanta, Georgia. So she thought moving to New Orleans, Louisiana would be helpful. It never had but now she decided to move far away so she looked online and found a place called Rangerman she had heard about them because they had a chain in other states. She applied to work there. She had eight years of being a cop and she had worked hard. She had also heard him that females were not hired and were surprised when she got the job.

It seemed when she got to Trenton, New Jersey that she had started to hear about a bounty hunter named Stephanie Plum. Seems Ranger the man that ran the Rangman company had trained her to be a bounty hunter. She had also found out that he was a Retired Army Ranger. There were stories about him, but the main person in the story was Stephanie Plum. She had a lot of luck she always got her back. It was what happened before she caught them that was always the adventure and seemed like a comedy mystery kind of movie. She had only been in Trenton for about two weeks. She had decided to get a Private Eye License the idea was if Rangerman didn't work she start a Private Detective Business of her own. She laid down and went back to sleep.
