Raven sat on her bed alone looking at the box in which she had locked away Malchior's book. God it hurt. That moment she realized he didn't love her, never did. She was just his means to freedom.

Suddenly there was a knock at her door.

"Raven? It's me. Look. I'm sorry." It was Beast Boy.

She walked up to the door, not close enough to trigger the sensor to open it but close enough to hear the changeling clearly through the door.

"For what? You're not the one who…"

"I'm sorry he broke your heart." He cut her off catching her off guard

"I know it was all a lie. But he was the only person who ever made me feel like I wasn't…creepy. And don't try to tell me I'm not." She replied. He couldn't understand how much that hurt to say.

"Okay. Fine. You're way creepy. But that doesn't mean you have to stay locked in your room. You think you're alone, Raven, but you're not."

Raven's eyes went wide as he spoke. In that moment she had never felt more alone and it was like he knew that. Without thinking she went through the door and embraced him. He went stiff for several seconds and she was about to let go when suddenly she felt his arms come to embrace her and everything crashed down on her. In moments she was crying.

He took her back into her room and stayed with her for hours assuring her that she wasn't alone.

Later that day she found herself coming out of her room. In that time she realized they now knew what Malchior had done, not all the details but enough to know he'd hurt her and hated him for it. They were there, they wanted to listen, wanted to help her heal.

She had also overheard a conversation between Robin and Beast Boy where the latter had confessed he loved her but feared she would never love him back.

She sighed as she left her spot eves dropping at the door to Robin's office. If only he knew.

"I would… I do" she thought aloud unaware of a certain cybernetic teen standing within his own hearing range "… but you wouldn't if you ever knew."

'Knew what, Raven what are you hiding?' he wondered wishing she didn't try to carry all of her burdens alone, wish he knew what words to use to get her to give up some of her emotional baggage to them to help her with.

She went back to her room.

Then it came the prophecy was fulfilled but to her shock her team took the last gift she could give them and used it to save her and she managed to save the world.

It was about three in the morning when Raven woke her pillow wet with tears. Why had she had that dream now?

Beast Boy was in the living room channel surfing through infomercials trying to deal with a rogue case of insomnia when she entered the room. He turned off the television trying to find out what had her awake at three in the morning.

"Raven…"

A black barrier barred him getting closer but of course the changeling didn't give up.

"Raven what is wrong?" He asked gently.

"Nothing…" she said despair overshadowing her usual monotone

A/n: I know I said this was finished, but my muse said I couldn't leave well enough alone so here's the second half, now it's done.

"That's a lie Raven and we both know it!" he replied.

The barrier dropped as it seemed she realized he wasn't going to give up. Either that or she was too exhausted to hold it, Beast Boy couldn't tell. He approached her and, in spite of everything he knew about her, embraced her tightly hoping the contact would encourage her to open up to him.

Raven was stunned as he embraced her and not only by the fact that they were now the same height.

"I had a dream." She said into his chest "My father was there and he kept telling me that… that Malchior was proof that nobody…" she pushed away and he let her go and she turned her back to him "… nobody would fall in love with me."

Beast Boy gasped feeling as though his heart was being ripped from his chest. He approached her, turned her around and embraced her again trying to understand why her natural empathetic powers weren't telling her that was the biggest lie he'd ever heard in his life because he was madly in love with her.

"You should know what he said was wrong?" he said clutching her close "Pay attention to me. I love you! You have the power to read emotions I don't know how you haven't realized from that night after Malchior hurt you that I have been in love with you I am still in love with you."

She closed her eyes trying to read what her powers were telling her about him then she felt it, love, real and true. It wasn't a new feeling, it was bone deep and pain the pain of unrequited love, the pain of seeing the one you truly love in suffer and knowing there isn't a thing in the world you can do about it. She returned the embrace.

"Raven, I love you, have for a long time…" he finally decided it was time and adjusted the embrace until he could get her positioned just right then claimed her lips with his own. In that moment he could tell without her saying a word she felt the same but it was fear of the prophecy that had came with her birth that kept her confession unspoken. That and the fact that at one point Trigon had told her exactly what he'd said in her nightmare, that Malchior was proof she would never find true love.

For a split second Raven was stunned. He was actually kissing her. She relaxed and returned the kiss.

Robin stepped through the automatic door and stopped when he saw Best Boy and Raven in an embrace. It was clear they had been kissing seconds before he walked into the room. He knew what had happened and left them to their privacy. Though he knew he had to talk to Beast Boy the next day.

Right before the door closed he heard Raven say the words "I love you" to someone for the first time since he had met her.

Cyborg was up as well checking on the security cameras when he came across Beast Boy and Raven in the kitchen. He saw how distressed she was and stopped, what was wrong with her? Beast boy embraced her and she began to speak of what he could only assume was a nightmare.

"My father was there and he kept telling me that… that Malchior was proof that nobody…" she pushed away and he let her go and she turned her back to him "… nobody would fall in love with me."

Cyborg felt his own heart shatter in his chest as those words left her lips. Sure, Bumblebee would always be the girl for him but Raven… she held a unique position in his heart and he felt so lucky Bumblebee understood Raven was always going to be like the younger sister he never had.

He continued to watch unable to drag his eyes away for the sheer curiosity as to how Beast Boy would handle what she said. Then it happened, he confessed relying on her empathic power to show his sincerity. When he kissed her and she kissed him back Cyborg knew it was mutual.

Minutes later Robin joined him in the office at his request.

"You know they are together?" Robin asked

"Yeah but you didn't hear bad part." Cyborg rolled back the footage to where Raven spoke of her dream

"Knowing Trigon he probably actually told her that." Cyborg sighed as he watched Robin's reaction to Raven's dream.

"Yeah I wouldn't put it past that bastard to say something like that to her." Robin growled. "He would have said anything if it would bend her to his will."

Beast Boy guided Raven back to her bedroom hoping she could sleep. He started to leave when she grabbed his arm.

"Please… stay…" she pleaded, her voice too weak, too shaky.

Beast Boy didn't say anything just followed her into her room.

"Raven…" he sat on her bed beside her and tried to coax her to try to sleep. Finally he decided he'd lay down with her. He lay on his back coaxed her to cuddle into his side, using his chest as her pillow. It didn't take long for her to fall asleep leaving him to reflect on her dream.

It wasn't hard to understand why Trigon would say things like that to Raven but why would she believe him? She was surrounded by people who loved her, but then that was a different kind of love. The type of love she had was the love of friends or family not that of a lover, she didn't know that love. Trigon must have realized his daughter had fallen for someone and began to erode at her will by convincing her whoever that was could never feel the same for her if they knew of her destiny. A destiny she foiled.

"I promise you now Raven you will never question my love for you. I will never leave any room for doubt in your mind you are mine now and forever and… I will be yours forever." He whispered to her sleeping form then joined her in slumber.

The End
