After going into Ford's mind with Dogen, Sam, Gisu, and Morris, we saw that it started at quite the important place, that being the Whispering Rock campfire.
"I remember this place. It's where coach said we'd die if we didn't become Psychonauts," Dogen said with a frown.
"Oh, trust me, Dogen, he says that to everyone that goes to camp, and it still hasn't happened to anyone," Sam smirked.
"Well... okay," the egg boy smirked as I then went and put a log in place and then lit the top of it, which showed that it was the log that had Ford on it, but him looking WAY younger.
"This must've been Ford Cruller, back in his prime," Gisu smiled at it before a bunch of other logs appeared out of the ground, us then lighting their fires above and reading them out.
"Otto, Compton, Helmut, Bob, and Cassie... I hope we can save all of them," Morris said with a sigh... and then came out one last log, which I lit the top of to reveal one final face, which Sam looked at with intrigue.
"Lucrecia Mux?... Oh yeah, that's right, I remember gramps telling me stories about her, how she was one of their best friends... and then a tragedy happened and... wait... that's messed up, huh?" Sam frowned as she connected the dots as the giant tree stump ahead of us opened up to reveal a gondola, which we all boarded and proceeded to raft down it, which is when Gisu saw a note in the raft.
"Hey, this is a note from Otto to Ford... Dear Ford, I've heard of your concerns regarding our newest recruit, in Lucrecia Mux. I understand that she is trying to escape Grulovia due to the war. She has a ton of potential. I know you may be concerned, but if she were to use her Hydrokinesis with my latest invention, we can get at the Psitanium deposits right from the mines. Signed, Otto Mentalis," the note said as the moon ahead of us then got closer and we went inside of it... and all five of our heads appeared on a body of Ford, which is when we saw the entire area around us was all broken apart and messed up drastically.
"Oof... this is worse than I thought," Dogen said with concern.
"Well, as I recall, some of yer little minds weren't the nicest places to be in either, kiddos," Ford said, Sam then frowning at him.
"I told you I got over it a long time ago, Ford," she frowned.
"And I have a new helmet. It'll help protect more people from my brain blast," Dogen said with a smile.
"My brain not so much, I got it handled long ago, holding my deepest fears down in the vault. And as for you... now that I'm in your mind, I'm sure you can sense more, can't you, Ford?" I asked, him frowning at me.
"Quite right, that I can. So, you have a plan to fix me, then? Well, pull it off and I'll be very surprised. But we can't have you stay in this place for too long in this part, or you'd get fractured too. Now git!" he said, him then automatically booting all five of us from the mind, where we then got a bit dizzy after and for our group to see that they'd split up, me then contacting the lot of them via mental speak.
"All Junior Agents and Interns, report status update immediately," I said to them.
"Well, Ford didn't stay in one place for too long... and now he's in three different places at once!" Phoebe said.
"Yeah, he's hiding out in the mailroom and won't let anyone except senior mail staff inside, meaning we really need to get a brain in Gristol's brainless body," Norma said.
"And he's inside the bowling alley and will only let in senior league members. The only one still alive is Compton and he's still in isolation," Hailey said to me.
"AND he's in the barber called Ford's, which I guess was where he started his work when he founded this place? I don't know much about his history... but he's only allowing people in who have desperate need of a haircut," said Benny, me then smirking at that as I could think of one person in our group of junior agents who could use a bit of a haircut and spoke to Bobby.
'Hey, Bobby? How would you like to ditch the cotton candy and get a cooler haircut instead?" I asked, him then frowning at me from afar.
"OH NO! You better not mess with my hair, or my dad will... oh... y'know what? I'll do it! Who do I ask to go in the mind?" he asked, me then speaking to him.
"When you go to get your hair done, you'll take Adam, Vernon, Benny, Sydney, and Tia into that mind. As for the others, we'll have three more teams. Team one will continue to spread rumors about Maligula while also speaking with Otto to let him know of the situation about what we need to do. Tell him no more inventions until we can figure out how to stop her from coming back, and he'll listen for sure," I said.
"Ooh, evil, I like it!" Hailey chuckled.
"Team 2 will go to meet with Compton, but when you do so, only one of the group will go up the elevator to speak with him in a one-on-one session, mainly because we don't want any of you to get a blown up head, after all. Ask for the senior league pass and do whatever it takes to get it," I smiled.
"Okay, got it, I'll take a team to do that," said Elton, taking charge for a change.
"And finally, team 3 will join me and my current ensemble to go to Otto's place to find Heptadome Harry and get him into the body of the mailman. But when we do so, we need to make sure we're delicate, as Gristol is an older person, but thankfully, not old enough to be impossible to get a rebrain treatment," I said, them nodding as I then made that team consisted of myself and my current group, Pheobe, Quentin, Chops, JT, Nils, and Elka," I smiled.
"Oh man, this is gonna be so cool!" Nils smirked widely at the thought of meeting Helmut, me seeing from afar that it was because the Psychodyssey user was Nils's favorite member of the 6.
"We'll need to be careful when we do this, as 'Harry' will most likely have sensory deprivation. As for my mom, we got her a locomotive ball and she's being interviewed by Milla and Oleander right now. She's very grateful that we rescued her, but demands that we find a way to get that backstabbing jerk out of her," Elka said, me nodding at that.
"Remember, keep this secret from everyone. We need all the evidence in the world and to get rid of Maligula before we take him out," I said with seriousness.
"Gotcha, mind locked," Elka said as we then met up in the main hall of the Atrium and then proceeded out to the quarry outside and I led my current group to Otto's place, where we saw that the place was filled with science stuff and, upon entering his lab, he saw me and smiled.
"Ah, so you're the new Psychonaut that Sasha values as the prodigy. The one who knows mental storage at such a young age of 10, right?" Otto smiled.
"Technically I'm 10 and 40 at the same time, so try to figure that one out," I smirked, Otto then looking at my head and then seeing ONLY what I wanted him to.
"Ah, you're like Connie and Sam, then. A mind from another universe, reborn as a baby into a Psychic's body. And for you, it seems your powers are the greatest of all of them. Tons of potential hidden in that noggin of yours," Otto smiled.
"Yeah, but we're sure you've heard the rumors by now, right?" I said, him nodding.
"Yes, I have... Maligula is still out there, apparently. But you should that it is just rumors. Maligula isn't coming back at all," Otto said, me frowning and sharing the stuff I'd learned to him, which Otto then gawked at. "Oh... OH... so, it's to get rid of a big scandal involving the Grulovian gzar and trying to find Lucy again?... Name whatever it is you want, and I shall assist," Otto said, me nodding at him.
"Heptadome Harry," I said, Otto being confused as I then simply moved past his numerous dream inventions and went to the Hall of Brains.
"Oh, you want one of these brains? Why is that?" he asked.
"Trade secret, one of these brains is still alive... and that brain belongs to a certain friend of yours. One that was frozen in ice," I said, Otto's eyes going wide at me saying that.
"Helmut... is still alive?" he asked.
"His brain is among the brains in here, for sure. He must've had his brain stay alive because of his body being frozen completely solid in ice, which preserved it, therefore, if we did find him, he'd be the same age as before. But as for the brain, must go to these ones here, find the one stated as Heptadome Harry... and there it is," I said, seeing it was still alive, me then grabbing it and Otto gawking at it.
"Why, that's the brain that I found at the Astralathe in the gulch, almost five years after the Deluge happened... that was where Helmut was at this whole time?... Why there?" Otto asked.
"Simple. He sneezed his brain out, knowing he had no other options when he got engulfed in the flood and knowing you'd use the hyper-hyglaciator. Ford found it and kept it secret, hoping to one day find a way to get it into a new body, or at the very least, save it until they could dig Helmut up. But, of course, it took far longer than they expected, and he's still buried in all that ice. Ford then had his mind fractured, somehow, and thus, Helmut's mind has been in this jar ever since you found him," I said.
"And uh, how did you know all that?" Quentin asked, me frowning. Did I really just? Ugh... I had to flap my big lips, didn't I?
"Fine, I dug my own grave yet again. I'll share with you the info, but don't say a word to anyone. That means you too, Otto," I said, him nodding as I then gave the information to the lot of them, which, after giving them the knowledge that I had, and how much had changed already in the adventure from what I'd seen prior, the first to talk was Nils.
"Oh god... that's uh... quite a lot," he admitted.
"So... you knew about all of us, even before we met? But tons of stuff changed, like mom not being the third in charge, Gristol and Nick being the same entity, and lots of other things?" Elka asked, me nodding.
"Main reason I didn't say anything is because of Gristol's newest plan in getting one of us on his side as his new mole. The last thing we need in this important mission is for the enemy to know how to win... anyways, I need to do something now. I gotta talk to Helmut," I said as I then used the psi portal on the brain and entered the man's mind.
And as expected, it was super dark, and I was soon joined by a ball of light. "Hi. You're Helmut, aren't you?" I asked, the light ball then struggling to speak before blurting it out.
"Piiiiiieeee! Ooh, sorry, it's been how long since I spoke... wait, words? Am I a god? Who are you? Are you real? Am I dead?" he asked, me speaking to him.
"I'm Luke Psiwalker, you are Helmut Fullbear, and you've been asleep for over 20 years," I said.
"Helmut Fullbear? That sounds familiar... wait, sounds? How can I hear you when I don't have ears? Haaaa! Gasp! What was that weird non-word sound I made? Am I dying?"
"We really need to get you into a new body, Helmut. Just promise that you trust me on this. If anything bad happens, know I'll try my hardest to help," I smiled at him. "We'll talk again in about 10 minutes or less, promise," I smirked before I then used smelling salts to leave his brain... and at that same time, I saw that Elka used smelling salts on herself in the real world... for some reason.
"Why'd you do that?" I asked her.
"It allows me to see a gaaaaagh!... Future vision on a whim," she gasped affter smelling the salts, her then speaking to us. "I saw the mole... she was talking to Gristol in private, being promised she could... get Maligula's powers for herself..." she said in concern.
"Who was the mole?" I asked her.
"It was... Norma..." she said, me frowning at that.
"As expected, the bitch from the original game is the one that's the mole," I frowned.
"Yeah, you got us there, she's a jerk through and through. When I got here for the intern program, she tried to haze me and steal my clothes, but I saw her thoughts clear as day," Gisu smirked.
"Yep, thought so. Well, time to warn the others," JT said with a frown before I said otherwise.
"No, we shouldn't," I said, which made the group confused. "If Norma knows what we're up to, she'll tell everything to Gristol. We need to keep her in the dark about everything and have her do menial tasks in the meantime, which she currently is doing by spreading the rumors. We'll give her another job that's small potatoes while we keep going out, just to waste her time," I smirked.
"Good plan," Otto smirked as I then spoke to Norma from afar.
"Hey, Norma? Could you do me a favor and check up on Sasha, Sheegor, and the captives? I want to know if they've found anything more out," I said, Norma then frowning at me.
"Why? We just did," she frowned.
"Yes, we did. But think of it as extra credit. You could assist in going into their minds to learn more of Gristol's plans. Surely what we've learned thus far isn't all to the story, and of the lot, we should look into 33's and Elka's mom's minds. They'd know the most of the lot," I said.
"Ah, gotcha, okay, I'm game," she said, me nodding at that.
"Bring your sister and a Junior Agent along with you, since the minds are heavily booby-trapped."
"Yeah, yeah," she groaned, me then seeing that her choice of ally from the campers was Vernon, who had since finished up in Ford's Folicles and learned that Ford was mortified at Lucy's actions in Grulovia and that she had drowned a ton of people at the Gzar's request... and the last of them before the change to Maligula had the floodgates let loose, which made the flood happen that killed Marona and supposedly Lazarus. And after that? She turned into Maligula, her mind breaking. But I shared none of this to any of my allies and told Vernon to tell the story to Norma when they met up. I then had our group go back to the Atrium via a the Otto-bon, which Otto gave us the mental code for.
"Share that code with the other Junior members, but only a Senior agent can share the info with interns and lower, rules and all that," Otto said, me nodding at him.
"I just want to let you know, Otto, you may need to protect your inventions from intrusion, because the mole in question may try to steal some if she catches on," I said, him nodding at me.
"I'll keep that in mind, then," he spoke before we fast-traveled to the Atrium and proceeded down to the mailroom, where we saw that Gristol was under the stamp machine, me turning it off and smiling at him.
"Hey, buddy, how would you like a new brain?" I asked, him then looking at the brain as well as one other thing that Dogen had been taught how to use, that being the funnel, him being a secret prodigy when it came to rebraining back at the base.
"Okay, lay down, mister Malik, and I'll rebrain you," Dogen smiled as Gristol then did so, Dogen then putting the funnel's small end about halfway into the former gzar's head and then using his mental skills to send the brain down the funnel, shrink it on the way down, before then having it stay in place inside of Gristol's head, which he then groaned a bit.
"Helmut? How you doing in there, buddy?" I asked, the brain immediately going into sensory overdrive as he leaped from the couch and looked around and started to go over how everything felt so freaky, with him shouting that he could smell the big bang and he said the cashmere tasted delicious, which Sam looked grossed out at.
"I think we need to go in there... but I'm kind of scared to do so," Quentin admitted.
"I agree, this may need some of us to stay out here so he doesn't hurt himself or us when we go in there," Chops said.
"Me, Chops, Gisu, and Dogen will stay out here and keep watch over the guy. You take the others and enter his mind. Be careful, cause I can see he's having a complete sensory overload," JT said, me nodding as I then used the psi portal on Gristol and then had my ensemble head into his mind and, when we did so, we gawked at all the sights around us.
"Oh crap! This is a nightmare!" Morris gawked in worry, his telekinetic chair looking to be getting a bit freaked out as well.
"Helmut! Where are ya in here, buddy?" Phoebe asked, the result being that Helmut appeared in his ball of light form as he then spoke.
"You're back! Everything is coming in all at once! I can't take it! Too much all at the same time!" he said in concern, me speaking after.
"You're going to be okay, just don't have a-" I was about to say before the hardest enemy in the game appeared, it being the nastiest of the bunch. "Panic Attack... joy!" I groaned as we then got into a fight with the lightning-fast enemy, me gawking at how Elka used her Time Bubble to slow the guy to a crawl, which allowed our entire group to attack the Panic Attack until it disintegrated into nothignness, which ended with our group being consumed by a lot more color before we were literally expelled out of the mental vault where he kept the quiet place at, us appearing in the area of the stage and seeing his Vision appear.
"Ah! There you are, Psi King! We've been waiting for you forever!" Vision said, which made Morris gawk.
"Was that Cruller's voice coming from the eyeball guy?" he asked in surprise, which Psi King looked around in confusion before I then heard the crowd, me looking at Phoebe and Quentin, them going out to the crowd and looking at me.
"Hey, can you give us our instruments, mister mental storage? Maybe they want a show," Quentin asked.
"Sure, here ya go," I smirked as I then provided the duo their drums, which they then went to the stage and tried to play, but the crowd did something that made them shocked. They threw tons of food and tomatoes at them, which they then escaped and I saw that Phoebe looked ready to burst in flames, me easing her off by giving her a small hug, which she sighed at.
"Thanks, I needed that... what's up with that damn crowd?" Phoebe asked in confusion.
"They're here for the Feast of the Senses, a band full of the Psi King's 5 senses and Psi King himself," Vision said, me frowning at that.
"Helmut. We call him Helmut," I said, Vision looking at me in surprise.
"Ah, you know a bit more than ya let on, mister. So, what do you propose we do?" Vision asked.
"If we can find your other band members and find the instruments you use, we can get the band back together for an amazing concerto! But, if we can, I'd want to ask if you could teach Phoebe and Quentin about Psychodyssey," I smiled.
"Oh, if only you kids could see the world the way I see it," Vision said before all of our group were sent into Vision's mind, which we looked around in surprise at how all the bright colors of green and other numerous parts looked so cool.
"Huh, I thought the inside of an eyeball would be a bit more uh... gooey and wet," Sam admitted.
"We should head out and try to find the musical instrument, as fast as possible," I said, us then going through the place... and I had to hope that Elton and Connie's team would be safe during their trip to the Forgetful Forest and with the Green Needle Witch, but I DEFINITELY kept my mind tight when thinking of that part.
Connie POV:
After my group led by Elton and I had managed to find out how to get to Compton, I went up to his room alone and saw that he was speaking to a little dog that looked to be a mix of german shephard, beagle, and chinese crested, as it looked very much like a mutt. I also saw the sight of the senior league pass that was on the picture of him and Cassie. And he immediately noticed me looking at it and got in my face.
"Hey! Don't look at that, it's private!" he said in annoyance, me then going invisible from the sudden outburst.
"S-Sorry... I uh... I'm Connie, you've heard of me by now?" I asked, Compton nodding.
"Yes, I have. You used to be like me, very nervous and always stressed, but you became a junior agent... I envy you, a lot," he admitted, as I saw he looked scared, me sighing at him.
"I still am a bit, but I can be better when by my friends... I want to let you know some things, and in response, I request you don't get too stressed, please? Because this is mission critical information," I said.
"Ooh.. I know what it's about, though... Maligula is coming back... I've heard the rumors already. Even if she's got amnesia, if she remembered who she was, it'd ruin everything," he said, me seeing that my mind was getting a bit in pain, which I knew I had to speak to him before he got too stressed, lest I get blown up.
"What would you say to me helping you out, per chance? Because uh... I know where Cassie is," I said, which made Compton look at me in shock and for my head to not get hurting feelings anymore.
"Y-You do? You know where she is?" he asked.
"She's at the gulch, having just as bad of problems as you, mainly with her archetypes. Don't repeat this, but she's also the Green Needle Witch.. in order to get to find out her exact location, I need your help, as we can only find Maligula's location by reuniting the 6. My boyfriend's team is trying to help Helmut's brain, and my team's in charge of getting you out of your slump," I said, him then frowning at me.
"It's not a slump. I'm useless and... wait, WHAT?! Helmut?!" he asked, having only just connected the dots.
"Yes, he's still alive, his brain being kept at Otto's hall for almost 15 years. My boyfriend's team is getting him a new donor body, but before we get off track, I want to help you out in your mind, too... but before that, can you tell me who the pooch is?" I asked, Compton gulping before then looking at the canine.
"His name is Mephisto. He's Lili Zanotto's pet dog, and he loves to frequent here to play chess," Compton smiled.
"Okay, then. If you could come out of isolation, I can put my spare Psi Portal on you and we can get to work," I said, Compton sighing at that.
"You promise that no one else will come in the room, right?" he asked, me nodding as I then spoke to the others.
"I'll tell them right now," I said as I then spoke to the allies via telling Elton about it. "Elton, tell the group to go to the Questionable Area for now and check up on the Aquatos and my family, please? Compton requests I enter his mind alone, for risk of exploding melons, got it?" I asked, him then speaking after.
"Got it, I'll do that, then," he said, me then opening the door to isolation and, upon doing so, Compton did look to be concerned, but I simply gave him a hug beforehand.
"I know you're stressed, Compton... and I know your issue is inferiority complex... being given the world despite doing nothing to deserve it... right?" I asked, him sniffing and nodding at me. "I'm going to go into your mind, now. Let's do this," I smirked, me then going into his mind right away, but not stopping the hug once.
