The X-Squad logo appeared with its characteristic glitch, then suddenly split into static as a young man dressed like a thug appeared on a stage tied up, as Anubis handed him a phone.
"Hello, hello? Okay, listen, I have no idea where you are or how you got there. What I do know is that those people you saw last night, they're bad news to people like you. But-- some good news, if you're hearing this, chances are you're still alive. Look, just stay calm and if you can, avoid them at all costs. Do your best to hold out until morning. Please just, stay alive." The voice on the other end said.
With that, the curtains parted, with the thug looking on in shock. A heavy guitar line (provided by Chill Penguin, Giff, Trifa and Yuma) thrummed through the speaker-crystals as the logo appeared.
"We're back, revamped, the madness never ends!" Drakus sang, having dressed up like a showman mixed with a prince, holding out a cane to the unwilling audience.
"We're not, alone, this time we've brought some friends!" Ridley declared. He'd opted to show up in a suit that was purple, black, brown and severely patched up, because what better way to make a statement at a formal ball than to turn up a slob?
"No chance, no hope, but you keep coming back!" Cyclonis declared, having dressed up in a purple and silver tuxedo, as shadows indeed did leap up onto the walls, that of dinosaurs strutting onto stage. "But if this is what you want, then you can be just like us!" A chorus of vortexes swirled overhead to make her point.
Snatcher was made up as Frou Frou, with a wig that fashioned faux red hair into a massive bun that leaned artistically to one side; his gown was a lighter purple than Cyclonis, with sparkles embedded into its voluminous skirt: "It's what we're made to do, you act like we're to blame! Wear a mask to hide yourself, when really it makes us the same."
The twelve main hosts spun and twirled (Taeko had to catch Drakus before he fell off balance; everyone then acted as though nothing had happened). Then, in a twelve-part harmony (plus one lip-syncing Roman and a signing Neo), they declared, "A couple hours but it's feelin' like days, now you're runnin' out of power, leave you mangled and winding away!"
The mirrors filled with magical images of others who were in attendance and had gotten early access to the room long before the public was allowed in: John Hammond, Anubis, Tock, Chill, Giff, Taurus, Pascal, Yuma and Trifa. Each pointed distinctly to his or her own oil portrait, it then proceeded to head into a dubstep-like beat as the ballroom turned into a rave party
Furina strutted out, dressed in a ringmaster-type outfit colored blue and black as she posed like she was fainting. "Step one: check lights and empty out the hall!"
Neo, who wore a loose, lacy dress with quarter sleeves, mostly pink, though its top layer of skirt stopped at the thigh to give way to a second, cream-colored layer of lace, which stopped above the knee to let the final layer of chocolate-dark lace fall right at the kneecap, signed as she leapt beside Furina, her translator doing the singing. "Did you hear that, there's banging in the walls?"
Zap, wearing a pinstripe tuxedo colored gold and blue, slid onto the floor. "Enjoy your new job, 'cause it might be your last!"
Daruizen, wearing a red and green military jacket and black jeans, flew onto the disco ball at the top as the guitar solo strummed again. "If you find it's 6 AM, we'll see you tomorrow!"
Roman, who was dressed as a gangster straight out of Earth's 1920s (fedora and all) but in bright orange, strutted beside Neo. "It's what we're made to do, you act like we're to blame!"
Gentlu, dressed in a black tuxedo shirt and white dress pants, spun around Eleanor, dressed in a green and yellow dress. "Wear a mask to hide yourself, when really it makes us the same!"
Mystle, dressed in a black and red tuxedo, spun Weiss, who wore a white dress, as they waltzed. "A couple hours but it's feelin' like days, now you're runnin' out of power, leave you mangled and winding away!"
The ballroom descended into chaos as the party got out of hand.
"It's what we're made to do, you act like we're to blame!" Rhona sang, her dress black and silver.
"Wear a mask to hide yourself, when really it makes us the same!" Taeko, her dress colored black and red and slightly more gothic.
"A couple hours but it's feelin' like days, now you're runnin' out of power, leave you mangled and winding away!" The X-Squad sang as they struck a pose as the thug was flattened by the stage falling on them as the logo popped up from the wreckage.
