WD: The Berlitzes
Twinleaf Town, Sinnoh. 28th February, 2019. Fourteen days after the proposal. 4:27pm.
Johanna Berlitz set down the plates before going up to stir the pot of her infamous spaghetti. Her daughter was coming back home today, from HUA; Hearthome University of Arts. She set down her pot on the dining table as she waited for her daughter to come home.
As she waited, she turned on the T.V and watched the Coordinators News. "They always have good highlights," she mused to herself as she leaned back onto the pillows. Suddenly, the doorbell rang. Johanna ran to get it.
She opened the door. "Bye, Paular Bear!" Her daughter, Dawn, yelled, sticking her tongue out at a purple haired male who glared at her. Johanna watched the exchange, the wheels turning in her head. Was this guy her boyfriend? Dawn turned to her mother, and threw her arms around her affectionately. "Hi mom!" she greeted. Johanna hugged back just as tightly. "Hello sweetie. Welcome back home,"
Johanna poured some of her green tea in her cup. "So, who was that boy who dropped you off?" she asked. Dawn blushed. "He's the quarterback in the university's football team and he has composing with me. His name is Paul. He was also Ash's rival when I travelled with him." Johanna smiled at her daughter. "That's amazing," she said. Now, for the good part. "Do you like him?" she asked slyly. Dawn flushed. "Mom!"
Johanna leaned forward. "Well, do you?" she asked curiously. Dawn sighed and turned away. "Yes," she spoke quietly. Johanna smiled. "Thats great! What's his last name?" Dawn looked confused. "Rebolledo, why?" she eyed her mom suspiciously. Johanna shook her head, grinning evilly. "Oh, I can just imagine it. Dawn Rebolledo," she sighed dramatically. Dawn gasped. "Mom!" she laughed.
All of a sudden, the doorbell rang. "Oh. Were you expecting someone?" Dawn asked. Johanna shook her head. "No, not at all," Dawn went up to get the door.
She gaped at her visitors. "Misty?! Who's that guy with you?" she demanded. Misty put her arm around Dawn's shoulders. "Who does it look like?" Dawn tapped her chin. "He looks like Ash, but theres no way thats him. Dawn, what're you doing, he never visits," she scolded herself. Ash gaped at her, taken aback, while Misty grinned triumphantly and held out her hand.
Ash reluctantly put three coins in her open palm. "No fair, you knew her longer!" Misty stuck her tongue out. "Well, you should have thought about that before you made the bet, Ketchum," she smirked. Dawn's eyes widened. "Ketchum? You mean…" Ash and Misty smiled sheepishly. "Yep…" Misty said, entwining her and Ash's fingers. Dawn stared at the ring on her friend's finger, before breaking out into a huge smile. "Come on in, guys!"
Johanna and Dawn drummed their hands on their thighs. "So…" Dawn hinted. Misty and Ash both explained how they got together, and how they wanted to visit everyone. Misty grinned. "Also, Dawn, we wanted you to be one of my bridesmaids," she stated. Dawn jumped up and squealed. "Oh my gosh, really?" she asked. Misty nodded. Dawn squealed again and hugged Misty tightly. "Of course Misty! I've always wanted to be a bridesmaid! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" she exclaimed. Misty hugged her friend tightly.
Ash walked up to Johanna and handed her an invite. "Oh, and we wanted to invite you as well," he said. Johanna smiled. "Of course!" she exclaimed and congratulated them for their wedding. Dawn pulled back. "Wait, who will be my plus-one?" she asked. They all laughed. Dawn scrunched her nose slightly. "No, seriously," she said. Her mother smirked. "What about the school university quarterback who has composing with you?" she grinned mischievously. Dawn groaned. "Mom! But I don't know if he likes me!" she wailed. Ash and Misty leaned in. "Say what, now?"
Dawn poked her fingers together. "Well," she started, but her mom cut her off. "Dawn over here, has a crush on Paul Rebolledo," she stressed the name as Ash's eyes widened. "who is the quarterback at her university!" she squealed. Ash gaped. "Dawn…does she mean…?" Dawn sighed. "Yeah, she's right," she murmured defeatedly. Ash grinned. "I can totally see it! Dawn Rebolledo," he sighed dramatically. Dawn swatted his arm. "Why does everybody keep saying that?!" she wailed as everyone laughed.
