Chapter 15: Atlas:

Jackie's POV:

I was fighting the Big Man's goons.

"We're goin' ta tay-uk ya down, Chan," says Montana.

Just as we were all about to fight, something came and knocked us all down. I looked up and saw someone, the size of a teenager, wearing armor, flying. He flew away.

At Section 13, I told Captain Black about what happened.

"Do you think it could be an alien or a mutant?" asks Captain Black, "Or maybe it's magic?" He was joking about that one.

"I don't know what that was, Funny Guy." I was being sarcastic. "It was like he had rockets in his feet."

"That is weird. Wait, where were you again?"

"I was fighting the Enforcers at Quark Industries. That's a robotic firm, right?"

"Yep. I think we should have a talk with Dr. Axel Donovan."

Captain Black and I were at Quark Industries. We met with Dr. Axel Donovan. He had a monkey.

"Which one of you is Mr. Black," he asks.

"That'll be me," says Captain Black, "we're with Interpol. We got word of something strange flying around your building."

"I assure you; the only strange thing is my monkey."

Captain Black and I were confused. "Um, how is your monkey weird?" I asked.

"How many monkeys can talk?" asked the monkey.

"Oh... is that..." I then screamed.

"Look, Dr. Donovan, if..."

"I think we're done here." Dr. Donovan then pushes us out the door. He was obviously hiding something.

Captain Black and I were back at Section Thirteen.

"So, there's some kind of rocket power feet kid attacking Quark," asks Jade.

"It might be a robot," I said, "that would explain the rocket feet."

"Technology," says Uncle, "nothing but trouble."

"What does he want," asks Tommy.

"That's what we have to find out," says Captain Black.

The alarm went off, and we looked at the screen. The stranger was the one who attacked Quark.

"I'll get some of my men on it," says Captain Black.

"Let me at that psycho," says Jade.

"I only need Jackie for the Talismans," says Captain Black, "plus you kids are too young and he's too old," (he was referring to Uncle), "leave this to my agents."

"What about Cosmosis," I asked.

"Good idea." Captain Black then calls Cosmosis.

We looked at the screen as Cosmosis arrived to fight the stranger.

"Whatever you're up to, young man..."

"You stay out of this, and the name is Atlas."

Cosmosis and Atlas then fight. They were equally strong. They kept flying around. Atlas did have one advantage. His hands were blasters. While Cosmosis wasn't so lucky. Eventually, Atlas takes Cosmosis down and then leaves.

"We should make sure Cosmosis is alright," I said.

Cosmosis was in the infirmary. His wife was complaining to Captain Black.

"What does this Atlas guy have against Quark," asks Jade.

"I'm sure Section Thirteen will find out," I said.

Tommy's POV:

I was walking down the street when I tripped and dropped my camera. It ended up in a cart someone was pushing into Quark. I had to follow them to get it back.

I entered the building and saw the cart entering a lab. I walked over there and saw Dr. Donovan yelling at a guy.

"PEOPLE ARE GETTING SUSPICIOUS," says Donovan.

"I know, Sir, it's just..."

"Didn't somebody say to destroy that piece of junk when we had the chance? Now, who was it? Oh right, me! Now, it's trying to destroy us!"

"I... I don't know what happened with him..."

"Stop acting like it's a person! It is a robot! Calling it a he is like calling this computer a she! Now, build me a robot that can..."

"I hate to interrupt," says the monkey, "but that kid is spying on us."

Dr. Donovan looks and sees me.

"Grab him."

. . .

I was then captured by Donavan. He was looking through my camera.

"I have to say, you're a great cameraman. You've certainly seen enough of this thing. And lucky for me, you weren't filming this whole thing."

"What's going on," I asked.

"I guess I might as well tell you. You see, we were trying to make the perfect robotic kid. Atlas was our first try. There is one flaw with it."

"What's that?"

"It hates humans. I guess it's malfunctioning. Oh well. When it started to rebel, I knew we had to get rid of it. But no one would listen to me. After all, I'm just the CEO of the entire company. No one is important. " Donovan then notices some of the scientists are starting to panic. "It looks like Atlas has come home. If you excuse me, I have a toaster to recycle." Donovan leaves.

I was tied to a chair. I tried to move, but I couldn't. Then Atlas came.

"Well, it looks like there's a human I can destroy. Too bad it isn't very sporting."

"You're Atlas."

"That's right. Where's Donovan?"

"He... was out, expecting you."

"Then my little trick worked. Now I can destroy him."

"Wait, why are you doing this?"

Atlas then flies over to me and grabs me by the shirt. "Because I am just a tool to you humans. Donovan treated me like I was just an appliance. I'm here to get my revenge."

"Atlas, this isn't the only way..."

"Are you trying to appeal to my humanity? You would have to find it first."

Atlas then throws me to the ground and leaves the room. I managed to move my arms and got out my phone. I sent a message.

Jackie's POV:

We were all at Section Thirteen. Well, not all of us. I wonder where Tommy is. Then I got a text. I could barely understand it. "At last is at Quack?"

"Don't look at me," says Kimi, "don't have a phone."

"Same here," says Jade.

"Wait," says Dil, "I think it means 'Atlas is at Quark'?"

"And Tommy's probably there."

I drove to Quark and saw Atlas beating down all the scientists. He had Donovan by the shirt.

"I am no one's slave," says Atlas.

"You're right. You're a piece of junk."

I then hit Atlas with a pipe. He just turned his head.

"Um... hello, my name is Jackie."

Atlas then tried to blast me, but I dodged.

"Humans are so pathetic."

Atlas was then blasted. We all looked and saw that Tommy managed to escape and took the robotic armor.

"I can't let you hurt anyone," says Tommy.

"Bring it, Iron Moron."

Tommy in the armor then fought Atlas. I went over to Donovan.

"What is his weakness," I asked.

"How would I..."

"Tell me or I'll skin the monkey!"

Donovan thinks about it. "Alright, there is a special code word. Say it right to it and it'll shut down."

"And the code word?"

"Tezuka."

I looked and saw Tommy and Atlas continuing their fight. I had to do a lot of climbing and jumping. And I had to avoid getting blasted. Eventually, Atlas rips apart the armor and has Tommy by the shirt.

"Did you really think you could beat me?" asked Atlas. "You're just a pathetic human!"

I then jumped on Atlas. "Tezuka!"

"NO!" Atlas then went into shut down mode and we were all falling. Luckily, Tommy and I landed on something soft.

. . .

Atlas was being taken in by Section Thirteen.

"I still say it should be junk," says Donovan.

"He will be locked away," says Captain Black, "and you still have to answer for what you caused."

"Good luck, I have lawyers." Donovan then walks away.

"You know, I kind of feel bad for him," says Tommy.

"If you mean Atlas," I said, "then I don't blame you. The fact that he wanted revenge shows he's more human than he wants us to think."

In the next chapter, Jade accidently swallows the Rooster Talisman.
