Chapter 19: Along Came a Spider-Man:

Jackie's POV:

I was fighting the Enforcers.

"What are we even fighting about," I asked.

"Thuh Big Man jus' wants us t' git shed awf ya," says Montana.

Just as Ox was about to hit me, his arm gets webbed.

"It can't be," says Fancy Dan, "we left New York to get away from him!"

"Who is that," asks Nichang.

"Just your friendly out of town Spider-Man!"

"Anyone else thinks this counts as us being overpowered," asks Fancy Dan.

"Yep," says Montana.

"Sure does," says Ox.

"Wanna just go back?"

"What, we..." Ox picks up Nichang and they all leave.

"PUT ME DOWN!"

"Thank you for your help," I said, "but what brings you here?"

"Actually, I came to deliver something. S.H.I.E.L.D.'s got something Section 13 might be interested in. It's related to your talisman thing." Spider-Man then reveals a statue.

"How do you guys know about the talismans?"

"It's a S.H.I.E.L.D. thing."

"Well, this is nice of S.H.I.E.L.D."

"Yeah, after this team up with Unit: E, Fury learned to share more."

"By the way, I'm..."

"Jackie Chan. I know. Like I said, S.H.I.E.L.D. likes to know things."

Shen Du's POV:

I wassss dissssappointed.

"It was Spider-Man," ssssayssss Montana, "that bug made monkeys out awf us befo-wr!"

"He made us arachnophobic," ssssayssss Fanccccy Dan.

"Use know Neugog's pawt spider, right," asssskssss Hammerhead.

"He is," the Enforccccerssss ssssay.

Then a shadowkhan comessss. It sssspied on the converssssation between Chan and thissss 'SSSSpider-Man'. It showed me a picture it took.

"Lo Pei!"

"Ifin' ya wanna see low pay, ya should check maah salary," ssssayssss Montana, "git it? Low pay?"

"Fool! Lo Pei wassss the one who casssst the sssspell that turned me into what you ssssee before you."

"It took me centuries to find my master."

"So, after he turned you into a statue, Nichang turned him into one." ssssayssss Ox, "What goes around, comes around."

"No, that issss jusssst a sssstatue,"

"I don't even know how to use the statue spell when he did that."

"But it may contain information we could usssse about the talissssmanssss. Get me that sssstatue."

Nichang's POV - Flashback:

I was just a common thief back then. I was wearing my jade-green light armor, a black bodysuit with no arm sleeves as well as no leg sleeves, green boots, and green gloves. My jade-green whip was on my hip. Which is why everyone back then used to call me Jade Rakshasa. I snuck into Shen Du's palace to steal from his treasure, but the next thing I knew, I was suddenly floating. I felt a hand around me, but I saw nothing. Then I learned it was Shen Du himself. He was invisible.

"I will show you what I do to thievessss," he ssssaid.

He was about to consume me.

"Wait! I... I can be of use to you!"

Shen Du thinkssss. "And what can you do for me?"

"I am not just a thief. I am also a witch."

"Prove it."

I then demonstrated.

"Hmm. Very well. SSSSwear allegiancccce to me and I will sssspare your life."

"Yes, my Lord."

Jackie's POV - Present:

We looked at the statue of Lo Pei.

"You know," says Spider-Man, "I didn't expect Section 13 to be an antique shop. Man, you guys are clever."

"We are here so Uncle can study the statue," I said.

"Okay, by the way. Uncle Who? Does he have a name?"

"Uncle must study the statue carefully so we may know the locations of the rest of the talismans."

"So, what talismans are left," I asked.

"Should be the Dog, Dragon, and Tiger," I said, "unless we were wrong about them having a Chinese Zodiac theme."

"Uncle has only been wrong once! Cousin Sun never did forgive Uncle for that."

Jade and the kids show up.

"Hey guys... woah! Is that Spider-Man? No way, I'm a really big fan!" But Jade's excitement knocked the statue over, breaking it. "Oops."

"Jade, you broke the statue," I said, "I am terribly sorry about my niece..."

"Don't worry," I said, "I'm mentoring a kid, so I know how hard it can be. You'd like him. He's got a watch that allows him to turn into ten different aliens."

"Really," asks Dil.

"Yeah... hey, come to think of it, you kind of sound like him."

"Cool."

We didn't realize it at the time, but Jade was looking at the pieces.

Jade's POV:

I felt really bad for messing things up, so the guys helped me take the pieces to Section 13.

"So, how do we put them back together," asks Susie.

"With this," says Angelica as she uses the Horse Talisman to fix the statue.

"Now we just need to figure out what it says about the talismans," says Phil.

"Or the statue could literally say something," I said as I got out the Rat Talisman. The Rat Talisman then brings the statue to life.

"What is it? Where am I?"

"Welcome to our time," says Dil.

"Wait, is that the Horse Talisman? But I scattered the talismans across the globe!"

"That was then," I said, "and this is Section 13. We got alot of talismans here..."

"Here?"

"Well, not here here. They're in that vault..."

Lo Pei then approaches the vault.

"Energy Scroll!" Lo Pei then blows the vault up. "They are all here, but where is the Dragon, the Dog, the Tiger, the Rat?"

"We didn't get to the first three you mentioned," I said, "and the Rat's closer then you think..."

He then takes the Talismans. Some Section 13 agents show up.

"Freeze!"

"Yes you will. Immobilizer Scroll!" The Agents were then frozen. "Levitation Scroll!" Lo Pei then levitates away.

"That can't be good," says Tommy.

Lo Pei's POV - Flashback:

I arrived at the palace of the banished Shen Du. Then I saw his witch perform a spell.

"You shall be released, my Lord!"

A portal opens and Shen Du is freed.

"Well done, Nichang. Not even The Eight Immortals can imprison me!" Shen Du then laughs.

"If The Demon Netherworld cannot hold him, then I must find another way!"

I then left to find a way to defeat The Ultimate Evil once and for all.

Lo Pei's POV - Present:

As the birds observe the South for the winter, I observe this strange new environment. A land I do not recognise. Whatever the case, I must keep the talismans from my ancient enemy. Then I saw his witch. She was strangely wearing a green qipao and black shoes. As his servant, she is far too dangerous.

"Immobilizer Scroll!" I froze her.

"What in the..."

"Energy Scroll!" I then blasted her. "Levitation Scroll!" I left.

Jackie's POV:

We were looking for the statue pieces.

"Sure you guys didn't sweap them up," I asked.

Then the Enforcers show up.

"Great, now we have to take on Chan and Spider-Man," says Ox.

"Where's thuh statue," asks Montana.

"Missing," I said.

"Broken," says Uncle.

We then looked at eachother.

"Broken," I said.

"Missing," says Uncle.

"You just can't keep your story straight, can you," asks Fancy Dan.

"You guys really wanna do this," asks Spider-Man.

Spider-Man and I then fought the Enforcers.

"So, you guys mind telling us who this Big Man guy is," says Spider-Man.

"'e'd barbecue us ifin' we do," says Montana.

"At least give us a hint," I said.

The three then see some swords and take them.

"Taahm ta cut ta thuh chase," says Montana, "eend Ah do close-fisted cut."

They tried to slice us, but we managed to avoid them, and Spider-Man webs them and throws them out.

"Well, we can take those guys off our suspect list," says Spider-Man.

"But then who took statue," asks Uncle.

"My little helper," I said.

. . .

We were on our way to find Jade and the Statue, but then Spider-Man sees something.

"Is that... no, it can't be..." Spider-Man then swings over to it.

Lo Pei's POV:

I arrived at what that man called 'Alkatraz.' It should be the perfect place to hide the Rooster Talisman.

"Excuse me," says a strange voice, "you look familiar. Have we met?"

"What sort of creature are you? And what is that web attached to?"

"Good question. I should really check on that."

"Wait, I see now. You can only be the Demon Sorcerer of Despair, Leangle!"

"Who? Wait, Spider-Sense!"

"Energy Scroll!"

I blasted at this creature, but he leaped out of the way. He then shot web out of his wrists and tried to attack me with them, but I jumped out of the way of that. I kept blasting at him and he kept trying to web me. It was a familiar fight.

Lo Pei's POV - Flashback:

I was in a battle with Shen Du. He tried to attack me with his fire, but I kept dodging. I tried my energy scroll, but that does nothing to an immortal who can heal. I was clearly out of my league, so I had to get away.

Lo Pei's POV - Present:

This time I will not run.

"Wait," says another voice.

"Listen, we need to take the talismans back before the Big Man..."

"I know nothing of a big man. I am trying to keep them from the Ultimate Evil!"

"And who is this Ultimate Evil," the man asks.

"You dare expect me to say his name?"

"So, is this Ultimate Evil guy, Voldemort," asks the spider creature.

"Does he always talk this much," I asked.

"I don't know, I just met him today."

"Immobilizer Scroll!" I managed to immobilize them both. "Levitation Scroll!" I then left.

Shen Du's POV:

"...and that's what happened," ssssayssss Nichang, "could it be a descendent?"

"I have a different theory," ssssayssss Tohru, "a man who looks like Lo Pei appears as Chan seems to lose his statue. It may not be a coincidence."

"Ironic Shen Du," ssssayssss Hammerhead, "da statue awv da mook who turned use ta a statue ain't a..."

"Enough! You three will convincccce him you are SSSSacred Warriorssss of the Ling Dynassssty and earn his trusssst. Convincccce him to give you the talissssmanssss."

"Ah 'ate t' be that guy," ssssayssss Montana, "but we don't look like warriors..."

A Shadowkahn arrivessss with the robessss.

"Everyone has their hobby," ssssayssss Nichang, "for me, it's sewing."

"She doessss know how to make a beautiful robe that lookssss like it wassss made by a nymph." I ssssaid, but then I realized what I ssssaid. "Of coursssse, that'ssss what all the other men and ssssome women ssssaid."

Jade's POV:

We finally found Lo Pei.

"Hold it," I said, "we need to talk."

"I have no time for this, children."

"Look, you're not what you think you are," I said.

"You're a statue," says Kimi.

"What nonsense do you speak?"

"You can trust us," I said, "hoo-hah!" I gave out a thumbs up.

"What is this?"

"It means we're pals."

"They are not your pals, Lo Pei," says Fancy Dan as he and the other two are dressed like warriors.

"You know my name?"

"Sure, we're your homeboys." Montana then whispers to Fancy Dan. "I mean, we are fellow Sacred Warriors of the Ling Dynasty and we have come to take the talismans. We will take them to a safe place so that the Ultimate Evil cannot take them."

"I am not too sure..."

"Don't trust them," I said, but then Montana grabbed me.

"A sacred warrior would never harm a child. You are imposters..." Then Tohru hits him with a car.

"NO," I said. The bad guys then left. I picked up one of Lo Pei's scrolls and shout "Energy Scroll!" Nothing.

"Levitation Scroll," says Lo Pei as the car levitates off him.

"You're okay," says Lil.

"Yes, but... I have no wounds."

"Did we miss the party," says Spider-Man and he and Jackie show up.

"You again!"

"Look, I'm not a demon!"

"Only one way to find out, with this scroll, I will see what you have done in your past!"

We then saw Spider-Man's past.

"It's not your fault, you don't have to be this 'Green Goblin'."

"Someone important was taken from me too. I lost someone special to me for no reason at all. Just like you, I had an opportunity for revenge. I had the guy who did it cornered and helpless. I could have finished it right there, but I realized that wouldn't have changed what happened and, worse, I would've become as bad as the creep who took him from me. He always said I could choose what kind of man I wanted to be. I chose to walk away. To be better. To be Spider-Man."

We saw different images and then it was done.

"You are not a demon. You are a noble warrior."

"You guys didn't see my secret identity, did you?"

"No, we just know you lost your uncle."

"Yeah, that taught me something. 'From Great Power Comes Great Responsibility'."

"Something we can all learn from. Now I must..." Lo Pei sees a billboard. "What you say is true. I... am a statue. But how?"

"Motion to Motionless," I said.

"The power of the Rat."

"Statue or no statue," says Jade, "you still gotta help us get the Talismans back from the Enforcers. You in?"

"Like you both said, Great Power Comes Great Responsibility. Hoo-hah!"

"Hoo-hah," asks Jackie.

"It's a warrior thing," I said.

Fancy Dan's POV:

We were on the plane. I looked out the window and saw Spider-Man.

"Montana, Spider-Man is on the wing!"

Montana looks, but Spider-Man's gone.

"Thair is no spider-man."

I looked again and there he is.

"He's out there."

Montana looks and sees nothing.

"Ah still don't see a..."

Spider-Man then grabs us both.

"You have entered the Spider-Zone!"

The jet then crashes.

Lo Pei's POV - Flashback:

Shen Du desired to devour the soul of a beautiful maiden, so he thought he was lured to one, but it was really a trap I had set up. So when he arrived, I performed the spell that turns him into a statue and his powers were transferred into twelve talismans. I then scattered the talismans across the globe.

Jackie's POV - Present:

We were facing them. Lo Pei fought Nichang. Spider-Man fought Tohru. I fought the Enforcers. We managed to defeat them, but then the Shadowkahn came.

"Go, you must take the talismans," says Lo Pei as he hands us the talismans. We were on our way... "Wait, you forgot one!"

"Lo Pei, don't..."

Lo Pei throws us the Rat Talisman and that was the first time I've ever seen Jade cried.

. . .

Uncle, the Kids, and I were at the Museum looking at the statue.

"Hi, I'm Peter Parker. I came to see the statue. He looks like a real hero."

"He was," says Jade.

"Jade, look," I said.

The statue was giving a thumbs up. Uncle was surprised.

"Hoo-hah," says Jade.

In the next chapter, Uncle uses the Dog Talisman.
