I'm in the process of working on a short story featuring Liason. Hopefully it'll be done by the time this story is done. I'm still in the beginning stages of it.

Title: Rewrite the Stars

Chapter 42

***Still That Night***

(The boys came home from their outing with Grandma Monica. As the boys go up to their rooms, Monica asks to speak to Jason and Elizabeth in private. Once they're alone, Elizabeth faces the woman she thinks of as a mother with concern)

Liz: "What's wrong, Monica?"

Jason: (slightly concerned) "Is everything okay?"

Monica: "I wanted to let you know that the boys asked me a question while we were at Kelly's. I wasn't sure how to answer as I didn't know what they knew or didn't know."

Liz: "What was the question?"

Monica: (sighs) "They asked why Jason spent the night on the couch the other night. Why he was over. Cameron thought it was weird."

(Elizabeth and Jason face each other and nod in confirmation)

Liz: "It's time."

Jason: "We tell them the truth now." (to Monica) "Thank you, Mom, for telling us. We were wondering when the correct time would be to tell them. We will do it now."

Monica: (smiles) "I know you both got this. However, if you need me to stay for moral support, I'm happy to. Totally up to you."

Liz: "We appreciate everything you've done for us."

Jason: "But I think we can handle it."

Monica: (nods) "Sounds good."

(Monica takes turns hugging Elizabeth and Jason before making her exit. Jason and Elizabeth face each other and sigh deeply)

Liz: "Are we ready for this?"

Jason: "Let's do this."

(Elizabeth yells for the boys to come downstairs, which they do)

Cameron: "Is everything okay?"

Liz: "Jason and I need to tell you guys a few things and it's going to take a while. I think it's best if we all sat down."

(Cameron faced his mom warily)

Cameron: "What's going on?"

Liz: "It's nothing bad in my opinion. Actually good."

(Cameron sits on the chair next to the stairs. Jake, Aiden, and Elizabeth sit on the couch. Jason sits on the chair that's close to the front door)

Liz: "First off, you know that Franco and I have been having problems for a while, right?"

Cameron: (nods) "Yeah, he wasn't treating you the best."

Aiden: "Franco wasn't hanging out with us much."

Jake: (shrugs) "What changed?"

Liz: "Well, we decided…well, I decided…and he agreed….to get a divorce because things weren't working out anymore. I tried. He tried. We realized we're better off as friends."

Cameron: "I can't help but wonder if you two can just 'be friends', you know, after everything that's happened? Franco seemed to have a problem with everything you did it seemed." (raises his eyebrows) "Am I wrong?"

Liz: (shakes her head) "Don't worry, honey. I'm not worried. I actually started divorce proceedings yesterday."

Jake: "How long until you're free from Franco?"

Liz: "Two weeks as long as he doesn't put up a fight. I don't think he will, though."

Cameron: (tilts his head) "How can you be so sure?"

(Jason and Elizabeth look at each other, which Cameron notices)

Cameron: "What's going on?"

Jason: "H-How would you feel if your mom and I ever decided to become more than friends? Once the divorce is finalized?"

Jake: "Is that why you stayed over the other night?"

Jason: (shakes his head) "No. I just wanted to spend some time with you guys."

Cameron: "What's going on? It feels like something is being left out."

(Again, Elizabeth and Jason face each other nervously, before facing the boys)

Liz: "We…Jason and I found out some things in the last couple of days. We were debating when to tell you all."

Jake: "Tell us what?"

Cameron: "Just tell us, mom."

Aiden: "Are you sending me to boarding school?"

Jason & Liz: "No."

Liz: "Absolutely not."

(Elizabeth takes a deep breath before speaking)

Liz: "I found out from Sam that Aiden is really Jason's biological son. The way I found out? I thought it was a lie as Sam isn't the nicest person sometimes."

Cameron: (scoffs) "That's an understatement."

(Once again, Jason and Elizabeth look at each other. Jason faces Cameron, as does Elizabeth)

Jason: "What do you mean by that, son?"

Cameron: (shrugs) "Joss and I hear things at school. We just ignore them."

(Jason and Elizabeth roll their eyes and shake their heads before Elizabeth speaks)

Liz: "Honey, what exactly do you hear?"

Cameron: "Let's just say she speaks negatively about you and the fact that you have dad and she doesn't." (scoffs) "She has some choice words on the matter." (raises his eyebrows) "That are inappropriate for kids to hear."

(To say that Jason is pissed off that Sam is spreading her lies about his girl to whoever will listen, including young kids, is an understatement. Elizabeth can't believe Sam would stoop that low! Who the hell was she kidding? Of course, she would! Elizabeth clears her throat before talking)

Jason: "I will be talking to Sam about running her mouth to whoever when she doesn't need to be."

Liz: (nods) "I plan on doing the same." (sighs) "Anyways, I asked Sam about whether it was true or not…regarding Aiden. She didn't really say anything on the matter. So, we got a DNA test done. Grandma Monica pointed something out regarding you, Cameron."

Cameron: (curiously) "What's that?"

Liz: "Monica asked if I was with Jason around the time I was pregnant with you."

Cameron: "Were you?"

Liz: (nods) "I was, yes."

Cameron: (confused) "I thought Zander was my dad?"

Jason: (nods) "That is a possibility."

(Cameron thought for a moment)

Cameron: "So, it would either have been you or Zander?"

Jason: (nods) "Yes."

Cameron: "Do you know the truth, Mom? Both you and Jason?"

(Both Jason and Elizabeth nod)

Cameron: "Okay, what is the truth?"

Liz: "The DNA test revealed that Jason is your biological father."

Jason: "We wanted to make sure about Jake, too. We know how the DNA labs can be in Port Charles."

Liz: (smiles happily) "As it turns out, Jason is the father of all three of you."

(The room is silent for a few moments)

Jason: "How do you boys feel about having me as a father?"

Jake: (grins) "I'm still happy."

Aiden: (confused) "I thought Lucky was my biological father. At least, that's what we all thought."

Liz: (sighs sadly) "I'm so sorry, honey, for the confusion. Sam, Franco, and a mean woman named Helena made it look like Lucky was your daddy. However, you are really Jason's son."

Jason: "Grandma Monica's friend did each test twice to make sure they were accurate."

Liz: "Trust me, sweetie, I was shocked and confused, too."

Aiden: (nods) "So, I'm daddy Jason's son?"

Liz: (smiles & nods) "Yes, baby."

(Aiden goes to Jason and hugs his newfound father. Jason reciprocates the hug with a few tears in his eyes. Jake embraces his father as well, which Jason quickly returns. Jason noticed Cameron has been quiet for most of the conversation)

(Jason didn't blame him as it was quite a shock to learn. Jason gets up from his chair with a curious Elizabeth looking on. Jason sits on the coffee table in front of Cameron with his elbows on his thighs. His hands are together like he's praying. He gives his son his full attention)

Jason: "Talk to me, son. I'm here for you."

(Cameron tries to form his thoughts into words)

Cameron: "I-I just…all these years…I thought Zander was my biological father. I loved you like father, too. I just…I didn't know that you were my true dad."

Jason: (shakes his head) "None of us did, Cameron."

Cameron: "Does this mean I have to love Zander any less? I kind of feel like I'm disrespecting him."

Jason: (shakes his head) "Not at all. I'm fine with whatever you feel."

Cameron: (smiles) "I still love you, though…Dad. You've…you've been my dad for years. I never want that to stop. You've loved me the way a father should love a son. You've treated me like a son, whether I was yours biologically or not." (chuckles) "Now, we know the truth."

Jason: (smiles) "Yes, we do. I love you, too, son."

(The father and son hug with Elizabeth crying tears of joy. Jason couldn't stop the tears from flooding his eyes. Cameron's eyes were already shedding tears)

Jason: (whispers) "We'll talk later about what Sam has been saying in public about your mom."

Cameron: (nods & whispers) "No problem."

Liz: "Cameron, Jake, and Aiden…how do you all feel now that you know Jason is your biological father?"

(Jason and Cameron break free so Cameron can answer along with his brothers. Jason goes to sit back down on his chair)

Cameron: "I'm glad."

Jake: "Me, too."

Aiden: "Now, I finally have a daddy who's near me."

Cameron: "Are you two going to be a couple once the divorce goes through?" (referring to mom and Jason)

(Elizabeth and Jason link their hands together as they face each other)

Liz: "We'd like to, yes."

Jason: "How do you three feel about that?"

Cameron: "I'm happy for you."

Jake: "I love you both. So, of course, I'm happy for you."

Aiden: "I want you both together."

Cameron: (smirks) "What took so long?"

(That question took both Elizabeth and Jason by surprise)

Cameron: "Come on. The signs were there. I knew you two had feelings for each other. But, Mom, you wanted to make your marriage to Franco work. Once the divorce is done, I know it was only a matter of time before you and dad got together."

(Jason and Elizabeth can't help the laugh that escaped their mouth in response)

Jason: "Yes, once the divorce is official, I will officially be with your mom."

(Cameron playfully narrows his eyes at his dad as he spoke)

Cameron: "You better be good to her or you'll answer to me."

Jason: (nods) "Yes, sir. I'll gladly let you beat me up."

(Jason and Elizabeth were glad everything was good now)
