"Take him away! Far away, Toothless!" Pitch Black yelled out at the dragon that is crying out for his friend to wake up from his never-ending nightmare. Looking back, Pitch swore he heard bells in the distance. "Take yourselves to Dracula's castle. He and the others will hide you two there. Go!"
Toothless gave Pitch an understanding look, before flying off with the Spirit of Autumn strapped to his saddle. Hiccup was completely despondent, covered in blood that wasn't his own. Mumbling to himself how he wanted to go back. To see his family, his kids, wife, parents and friends. Praying to the Norse gods to give him pity.
Pitch knew their plans to take down the Spirit of Winter needed to be precise. Even if he himself, loved the chaos and darkness, there needed to be order. Watching on as the humans turn one another, in their attempt to weed out the monsters… Humanity at that time, were the true monsters. Yet, MiM did nothing. Only intervening when-
"Pitch Black…"
Pitch rolled his shoulders back, putting on a sardonic grin. He turned around to face the Guardians. "Don't tell me that little man in the moon finally decided to step in…"
"Dracula took in Hiccup and Toothless, hiding them away. Whenever the Guardians got close, the location would switch out. Toothless really hated hiding in the pyramids." Pitch stared out the window as he told Jack about the event that brought along the rise of the Guardians. "We all knew that the Dark Ages needed to come to an end, we just… didn't want to have Hiccup and Toothless suffer for our inaction."
Looking back to see Jack sitting on a footstool, huddled to himself. Filled with inner turmoil over the back history of Pitch, Hiccup and so many others.
"I…" Jack started. "I was jealous of Hiccup, for him keeping his memories…"
Pitch raised a hand to create a chair out of black sand to sit next to Jack. He motioned for Jack to continue on.
"He has his memories, has so many friends, never alone for who knows how long… to find out…" Jack pulled down his hoodie to cover his face. Nearly jumping when he felt something touch his head. He looked over to see that Pitch had placed a hand on his head, lightly patting his head.
"Mother Nature had to step in when MiM planned on the Guardians to hunt down Hiccup… Something the group will never recover from."
"What do you mean by that?"
"We weren't just protecting Hiccup… we were protecting them from him."
