"Enid." The wolf snuggled close to the warmth in her arms, her sleepy mind unsure if it was one of her blankets or stuffed animals. she didn't have anything heated, but she hadn't come to that realization just yet.
"Enid, darling. You have to wake up." Enid felt kisses pressed onto her cheeks, her nose picking up the scent of gunpowder and blood. Instinctively, she whined as she woke up, unable to open her eyes when she felt someone kiss her forehead.
"Wake up, my little wolf." Enid huffed, confused when she felt the mattress shift from added weight. Finally, she opened her eyes, blushing against the soft wool of Tara's sweater. Her throat was dry, hands shaking slightly and cheeks red with embarrassment as Tara lay with her still asleep. She was in her arms, trusting her enough to sleep on her bed. Enid looked at Wednesday, who was sitting on the edge of the bed with an old purple book in hand.
"I'm pleased to see you're awake Enid, I hope you slept horribly." Enid giggled quietly, yawning past a row of fangs. She ran her tongue across her teeth, confused when they felt sharper than they previously had. She looked at Wednesday, letting go of Tara and carefully climbing over her to get out of bed. She winced at every sound of the mattress springs, one foot nearly to the floor, the embarrassing position of hovering inches from Tara's face felt humiliating from the thought of getting caught. Thankfully, Tara was asleep, her phone and gun on the bedside table.
"Wait, a gun?" Enid felt her body falling, the thought and sight of Tara having a gun sending her body into a state of panic. She fell, her original hope to avoid falling onto the smaller girl was just barely managed when she felt Wednesday holding her up. She hadn't heard them move, glancing back at them with embarrassed horror as she processed that they were holding her by the waist and standing awkwardly by the bed.
"Please do not fall, Enid, I do not wish for your skull to break so early in the morning. If you were going to break your skull, I'd suggest using the Iron Chair method." They put Enid down by the bed, picking their book up from the bed as an excuse to look away from their little wolf. She didn't need to see them blushing right now, not when they needed to have an important conversation. Enid looked sheepish, bouncing carefully on the balls of her feet.
"Thanks for the help, Roomie. What happened yesterday? I remember going to the lake with you and your family, but I don't remember anything else..." Wednesday took Enid's hand, digging carefully underneath her nails and picking at the remaining stains of blood. They'd done their best to clean her when she was transformed and they were unable to get all of the blood off, leaving them to lick clean any spot they'd missed. It wasn't an explicit act, as wolves tongue-bathed each other to groom and to their surprise, Enid had been perfectly fine when seeing them shift to nuzzle against her and clean her fur. It might've been the wolf recognizing them, or simply since she was still heavily intoxicated at the time.
"How do you feel? You transformed in broad daylight, it's abnormal for werewolves to shift during the day so quickly."
"I shifted?!" Enid squeezed Wednesday's hand, her claws releasing with a soft noise as she practically screamed the words, accidentally waking Tara up. Enid looked around the room, checking to see if Amber was bothered as well, but Amber wasn't around.
"S- Sorry Tara, I didn't mean to wake you..." She spoke quieter, blushing and looking at the smaller girl, who was getting up from the bed, coming to Wednesday's side and kissing their cheek after properly putting her phone and gun away.
"It's alright Enid, I get excited for something as monumental as that." Tara smiled warmly, noticing the wolf getting flustered and about to pull away from Wednesday. She moved to catch Enid, her hand wrapped carefully around her cheek.
"You're OK, Don't be embarrassed with us. We're taking care of you, you had a long day." Enid calmed down, leaning into Tara's touch and filling with her fingers, looking unsure of what to say.
"O- Ok Tara..." Enid mumbled it quietly, surprised when the smaller girl stood on the tips of her toes and kissed her nose with a smile, before walking to Wednesday's closet. Thing was on the desk, a little pet bed lying beside Wednesday's typewriter. The bed was a gift from Tara and Thing adored it, snuggled up in his little collection of blankets and stuffed animals he'd been given.
"Enid, I'm unsure how to tell you this." They felt the anxiety creeping up their esophagus like a spider, their skin feeling weak and unable to keep form as they blinked away the tears of black that formed in their eyes. Enid froze, looking at Wednesday with a hint of dread. She looked down at her claws, able to smell the blood, to still taste the slimy meat and ashy marks of charcoal fingers. She knew what she'd done. She started tearing up, Watching as Wednesday knelt in front of her, reaching into their jacket pocket.
"W- Wait! I'm sorry!" Enid flinched, closing her eyes at the last second. It was quiet then, causing the wolf to cautiously open her eyes. Wednesday was looking up at her, eyebrows furrowed and head tilted in confusion, a beautiful sharpened dagger held in their hands. It was made of what appeared to be bone, the hilt built by fabric and leather wrapping itself tightly around the edge of the blade, rope was twined carefully around the hilt, acting as a grip as it rested between where her fingers would go. The blade was slightly curved, carved lightly into small runes that Enid couldn't identify, but she didn't know much about magic anyway, so she wasn't surprised. It was sharp, yellowish, and cartilage-like. Nervously, Enid sniffed it, looking down at Wednesday's exposed neck. Oh, she knew what this was. It was a marriage proposal.
"W- Wednesday, do you li-" The dorm's door opened to reveal Amber, who was wearing her jacket. It looked singed, Enid could still smell the smoke on her too, which hid the scent of blood and sweat.
Amber looked at the scene in front of her, staring silently before she grinned suddenly.
"Tar-Bear, come here! We're finally telling Enid about the idea!" Amber leaned against the door after she stepped into the dorm and closed it, yelling towards the closet for Tara, who stepped out in a change of clothes. Boots, a light blue tank top, one of Wednesday's evening jackets, and black jeans. She smiled as she left the closet, walking over to Amber and giving her a light kiss on her cheek. Afterward, she walked back to Wednesday's side of the room, going through their small collection of makeup to add a few quick touch-ups to her outfit.
"Enid Sinclair, young darling wolf, will you marry us and join the Addams family?"
