Hello everyone welcome to chapter 2.

Disclaimer: I don't own fairy tail

Lucy's pov

Just as I thought was gonna happen, everything was going to shit. You may be wondering why I would say this; after all, it doesn't seem like much of a compliment for staying alive even after all the crazy things in my life happened. But let me explain. After we had all gotten a good night's sleep, the bad feelings still hadn't gone away, so I just decided to ignore them for now. Which was pretty stupid now that I think about it. We ventured into the forest to try and rid the town of whatever was causing it trouble. What we didn't know was that there were more than one of these creatures. At first, I thought this was gonna all be fine and that we would easily take care of all of them, but that was before I saw just how many there were.

In total, I counted at least 10,000 of these things. They were black creatures with pointy teeth and a body that resembled a lizard, except without any ears or hair. The heads appeared clean-shaven, and the sharp claws could probably cut through a boulder. Some of them stood on two legs, while others remained on all fours, using their claws to dig into the ground.

"Damn it! How many of these things are there?" Natsu yelled as he cut another one of the creatures in half from its head down, only for it to reshape itself and split into two.

Gray used his magic to create a giant ice cannon to fire from his shoulder. Unfortunately, by the time I realized that it wouldn't help but only make things worse, it was too late. He fired the cannon, destroying dozens of the creatures; however, their black substance on the floor began to bubble and cause them to reappear with two in the place of one.

"Everyone, back-to-back! We need to watch each other's sides to make sure they can't sneak up on us." Erza screamed.

We nodded our heads in agreement as we all backed up until our backs were touching. We all stood in a small circle surrounded by the black slimy creatures. Natsu with his fist already on fire, ready for anything, while on his left stood Wendy, her hands glowing a faint blue to fire off attacks. Next to Wendy stood Erza, her red-black-and-orange flame empress armor on and her sword held by both her hands for extra support. Gray had his magic ready to go and flowing off his hands, the frost coming off of them was a sure sign of that. I was in the middle of Gray and Natsu, with my whip and key for Capricorn at the ready to be unlocked as soon as possible.

Just as the monsters were about to charge at us, they suddenly stopped shocking us. "What happened? Why did they stop?" Gray asked, looking at the monster that was only a few inches away from his face before it moved backward to stand in a circle around us with the rest of its kind, making sure we still couldn't escape.

Erza looked around at the monsters; her face filled with confusion, just like the rest of us. Erza reequipped back into her regular armor and raised her sword to poke one of the things in the face. It obviously took damage, as there was now the tip of her sword in its face, yet still it wouldn't even move or blink an eye at her sword.

"What's that noise?" Wendy asked, turning her head toward a tree a couple of inches away from them. "I'll go check it out from above," Carla said, attempting to fly and see what was behind the tree. However, she was blocked by the creatures jumping up and preventing her from flying higher.

Wendy shouted, "Carla, watch out!" Carla turned toward her, but then quickly returned to her attempt to investigate the tree. As she did so, she noticed something hidden from view. Before she could do anything else she came face to face with one of the creatures, which opened its mouth wide, preparing to bite her. Her expression changed from fear to surprise when a fireball flew through the air, striking the creature in the stomach, creating a large hole.

The monster fell to the ground level, and the other creatures eyes looked at it for a second before turning back to the us who were still in front of them, without sparing another glance or even batting an eye at their friend on the ground. The creature's stomach reformed and it stood back up like nothing had happened at all, which was kind of creepy because I swear I saw a slight smile on its face as if it enjoyed being hurt.

"Okay we need a name for these things their to creepy to not name!" Gray shouted holding out Carla who had came back down from the sky in shock to Wendy who hugged her friend tight as if she let go the cat would disappear again.

Natsu looked at Gray with a look of concentration as if he was thinking of the best name in the world for them. His eyes started to twinkle and he raised his index finger in the sky with a proud look on his face. Before he could even get a word out a voice was heard from behind the tree.

"They're called Drake Shadows; I based them off of a type of dragon, and combined them with some dark magic. Aren't they nice?"

Turning towards the voice, I saw that it came from a man with black hair and piercing black eyes wearing a white toga and black dress like outfit.

"Who the hell are you and why did you summon these things?" I yelled, finally piecing together our current situation. The strange man looked at me confused, before looking over at Natsu, who had a mad look on his face, with a grin that sent chills down my spine.

Aww, you didn't tell your friends about me, Natsu? I'm hurt that you don't care that much." He said with his eyes closed and a hand over his heart to mock Natsu. Natsu just looked at the man, his expression going from anger to one of confusion. I could have sworn I saw sweat go down his face; it was as if he was hiding something. Natsu pointed at the man with his index finger and his legs in a fighting stance. "You're that crybaby bastard from Tenrou Island!"

Our faces contorted into ones of shock, and we remembered who Elfman, Evergreen, and Natsu had met when Grimoire Heart had attacked us. "Zeref..." Gray barely managed to breathe out, looking at the black mage in fear. Erza stood to protect Wendy and the Exceeds. Zeref just smirked at us, like he was enjoying what was going on, as if it were some sort of entertainment.

"Why are you here, Zeref?" I asked in general curiosity.

"Well, how else would I get what I came for? After all, who do you think sent out that request?" Zeref snapped his fingers and the mayor, Kushi, waddled out with a greedy look on his face. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, the bastard actually bowed down to Zeref like he was some kind of king.

Kushi got up from his bow when Zeref nodded his head. He rubbed his hands together with a wicked grin on his face, looking at Zeref. "I'll be taking that payment you promised me now," he said, extending his hand out.

Zeref looked at him with an indifferent expression before waving his hand and having what looked like a shadow come forward and slice off Kushi's head. As blood trickled out of his eyes, I watched in horror as his body fell to the ground, and his head rolled around on its side, staining the grass beneath it before it finally came to a stop.

Zeref looked down at the dead mayor still having an emotionless expression before turning back to us with a smile on his face. "Well now that that's taken care of that's deal with the problem at hand, shall we?"

"What do you want, Zeref?" Gray asked in a voice that tried to sound stern, but was clearly afraid of the man and the shadowy creatures in front of him.

"Him" Zeref finally said, pointing with his index finger. I followed where he was pointing to only to stare straight at Natsu. Realization flooded my mind as I thought of what might happen if he got ahold of Natsu.

"No!" I shouted, moving to stand in front of Natsu with my arms spread. "You can't take him, you'll have to kill me first!" I couldn't stop the tears from flowing down my face as I shook my head in denial of what he wanted. The others seemed to get the gist of what I was saying and tried to move next to me, but before they could, they were stopped by the drake shadows holding them back by the arms.

"Release us!" Erza screamed, reaching her arm out to Wendy who was struggling to escape but had only managed to get scratches on her arms.

"Damn it!" Gray muttered as he kicked at the drake's shadow, holding him with all his strength, but to no avail.

As I looked at my teammates in disbelief, I didn't even notice that Zeref had parted ways and was walking up to us.

I looked back just in time to see him reaching his arm out to grab my neck; only for Natsu to dash in front of me with his hand on fire and slap Zeref's hand away before it could reach my throat. "Stay away from her!"

I reached my hand out to stop Natsu from taking another step, but it was too late. The next thing I knew, Natsu's body had stopped in its tracks as he stood hunched over, like some kind of rag doll. His eyes were misty, as if everything was just a blur to him now.

"Natsu!" I screamed as I ran to hug him from behind. I thought I could bring him back; I didn't realize how wrong I was until I came face to face with it all. Natsu didn't move; he didn't even blink. All he did was stand there with his arms at his sides.

I moved to stand in front of him and shook him with all my might not caring about anything else. Not the tears flowing down my eyes, not the drake shadows getting closer to me, not my team shouting at me to run away, not Zerefs stupid smirk. Not anything.

All I wanted was for the idiot to wake up. I just wanted my idiot to wake up. "Please, Natsu! You have to come back; we can't lose you at a time like this!" I sucked in a sharp breath through my tears. "I can't lose you!"

The only thing he did to respond to me was stare at me with his eyes that were no longer a nice shade of onyx; now they were only misty, like a dark forest that was clouded with ashes. I fell to my knees and the tears kept flowing, uncontrollably.

Suddenly, I looked up to see Zeref clapping his hands with a joyful smile on his face that made me want to rip him to shreds. "Well, that was a fun show, but sadly it has to come to an end."

Zeref snapped his fingers and I felt a sudden wave of sleepiness come over me. I knew I had to do one final thing, so I did the only thing that came to mind. I yelled out to the man I loved.

"One day I'll find you again! I won't let our story end like this; I refuse! I promise I'll find you, so just wait for me!"

The last thing I heard before it all went black was Gray shouting something to me that I couldn't remember.

That's the end of the second chapter but I have a question for you guys. Should I be more talkative at the start and end of the stories or is it fine the way it is?
