Chapter 9: A Beginning of an Adventure.
Over at Toad Town, Parakarry and Parakara sat at the coffee table, engrossed in the Shooting Star Summit puzzle. Sugar peacefully slept on the floor nearby.
"Have you ever been to the Shooting Star Summit?" Parakara asked, her uncle.
Parakarry paused, his mind drifting back to his past adventures. "I have." he replied with a hint of nostalgia in his voice.
Parakara leaned closer, eager to hear more. "What is it like?" she asked, her voice filled with wonder.
"It's truly mesmerizing," Parakarry began, a smile playing on his lips. "The sky is dark, but it's adorned with countless twinkling stars. And if you're lucky, you might witness shooting stars gracefully landing on the summit. The place is truly magical." As Parakarry spoke, memories flooded his mind. He recalled the time he had rode the Star Ship alongside Mario and the other partners. The Shooting Star Summit had revealed stars in a way he had never seen before. He had never seen stars so up close. But then, his thoughts shifted to someone else. Bow, the lovely Boo, came to mind. He imagined her ethereal beauty illuminating under the starlight, and a sudden realization struck him. "That's it!" Parakarry thought excitedly. "The Shooting Star Summit would be the perfect place for a date with Bow. It's dark, just how Boo's like, and the people around town always claim it's the most romantic spot." Lost in his daydream, Parakarry was startled when Parakara called out to him, breaking his reverie.
"Uncle?" Parakara called out to Parakarry again.
Parakarry shook himself out of his thoughts, refocusing on his niece. "I'm sorry, did you ask me something, Kara?" he replied, trying to hide his embarrassment.
Parakara looked at her uncle for a moment, observing the faint blush on his face. Unsure what that was about. "I asked if you could take me there someday."
Parakarry's eyes widened in surprise, but then a warm smile spread across his face. "Of course!" he exclaimed, happily. He couldn't wait to share the beauty of the Shooting Star Summit with Parakara, creating a new memory together.
Parakara returned his smile and went back to the puzzle, but this time, Parakarry couldn't help but steal glances at her. He felt his heart fluttering with a newfound affection for his niece, realizing just how much she meant to him. He noticed that it was getting late.
"Well we got most of the sky. How about we take a break and get ready for bed? We can work on the summit another day."
Parakara looked up from the puzzle, slightly disappointed but understanding. "Okay, Uncle," she replied, a hint of fatigue in her voice.
Parakarry nodded and stood up from the table. "Great, Kara! While you get ready for bed, I'll go ahead and tuck you in. And then, if you'd like, I can tell you the beginning of my adventure before you go to sleep."
Parakara's eyes lit up with excitement. She quickly puts away the puzzle pieces and rushed off to her bedroom to get ready for bed. She took a shower, changed into her pajamas and brushed her teeth. Parakarry quietly made his way to Parakara's room. He opened the door gently and found Parakara sitting on her bed, waiting eagerly for him.
"Ready to hear about the adventure, Kara?" Parakarry asked with a smile as he sat down on the edge of her bed.
Parakara nodded, her eyes shining with anticipation. "Yes, Uncle! Tell me the beginning of the adventure."
Parakarry cleared his throat and began; "It started like any other day. I was delivering mail..."
Over at the Mario brothers' house a paratroopa stuck a letter into their mailbox.
"Mail call!" He called before flying away. A tall man with a mustache wearing a green hat, a green shirt with blue overalls, and brown shoes came outside to retrieve the letter. It was a letter from Princess Peach. He went back inside to tell his brother.
"Hey Mario! We got a letter from Princess Peach!" Said Luigi. Mario, a short man with a mustache wearing a red hat, a red shirt with blue overalls and brown shoes walk toward his younger brother. "I'll read it to you okay?"
"I'm throwing a party at my castle today! Mario and Luigi, I would be honored if you both could attend. Many guests from distant towns are hoping to meet you. There will be tasty sweets and all kinds of entertainment! I hope to see you here soon!
Sincerely, Peach"
With that, the two bothers left home and down the pipe that lead to Toad Town. The two went through a blue door with a giant yellow star, and through the castle's entrance.
As Mario and Luigi entered the grand castle, they couldn't help but marvel at its beauty. The walls were adorned with elegant tapestries, and the floors were polished to a shine. The sound of cheerful chatter and laughter filled the air as the guests mingled, eagerly awaiting the arrival of the famous Mario brothers.
Princess Peach, dressed in a stunning gown, approached the brothers with a warm smile. "Thank you for coming, Mario and Luigi," she said graciously. "I'm so glad you could join us for this special celebration."
Mario grinned and gave a thumbs up. "It's always a pleasure, Princess Peach. We wouldn't miss it for the world."
Luigi nodded in agreement. "Absolutely! We're honored to be here."
As the party continued, the brothers made their way through the castle, stopping to greet familiar faces and meet new friends along the way. They indulged in delectable treats from the dessert table, showcasing Peach's renowned hospitality. The atmosphere was filled with joy and excitement, creating an enchanting ambiance for everyone in attendance.
While mingling with the guests, The floor beneath them trembled, the partygoers exchanged worried glances. The music came to a sudden halt, and Princess Peach's expression turned from joy to concern. "What's happening?" she exclaimed, her voice filled with alarm.
Mario quickly sprung into action, rushing to the castle's windows to assess the situation. The castle itself began to lift off the ground, as if being carried by an invisible force.
The guests, now in a state of panic, scattered in all directions, seeking safety. As they made their way outside, the castle continued its ascent, carried higher and higher by the invisible force. The once serene landscape had transformed into a chaotic scene, with uprooted trees crashing down and debris flying through the air. The sky darkened ominously, adding to the sense of impending danger.
"Are you alright Mario? What in the world was that?" Peach asked, she looked through a window. "Oh my! Look Mario! It's still daytime, isn't it? But I can see the stars outside!"
Bowser's maniacal laughter echoed through the room as he flew through the window breaking it, his imposing figure casting a dark shadow over the scene. Beside him was Kammy Koopa, her mischievous grin matching Bowser's wicked delight.
Mario quickly jumped into action. "Peach, stay behind me!" he shouted, positioning himself between the Princess and Bowser.
As Bowser approached, his booming voice filled the room. "Gwaa ha ha ha! You thought you could have a peaceful celebration, didn't you, Peach? Well, I'm here to crash the party and take what's rightfully mine!"
Kammy Koopa cackled, her wand crackling with dark magic. "Prepare to face the wrath of Bowser, Mario! With my powers, we will crush you and conquer this kingdom!"
Mario's eyes narrowed, his hands balling into fists. "I won't let you harm the kingdom or Princess Peach. It's time to put an end to your mischief, Bowser!"
With a determined leap, Mario lunged towards Bowser, ready to protect the Mushroom Kingdom from the forces of evil. As the battle ensued, the fate of the kingdom hung in the balance, with Mario fighting against all odds to bring peace back to Toad Town. Time seemed to slow down as Mario soared through the air, his red cap fluttering in the wind. The battle had begun, and Mario was prepared to give it his all.
Bowser, a formidable foe, met Mario head-on with a thunderous clash. He attacks the plumber with his claws. As the battle raged on, Mario dodged and weaved, his agility unmatched. He leaped over fireballs, skillfully avoiding Bowser's powerful attacks. With each blow he landed, he inched closer to victory, bringing hope back to the people of Toad Town.
But Bowser was not one to be underestimated. "Good old Mario...always fighting. You're a thorn in my side. But today your pathetic little attacks won't beat me!" He pulls out the star rod. "Take a look at this! Look what I stole from the Star Haven! It's the Star Rod! This fine piece of work has the power to grant any wish in the whole wide world! And when I use the Star Rod to increase my strength, even you can't beat me Mario!" With that the king of koopas used the Star Rod's magic to make him stronger and invincible to Mario's attacks. As he held the Star Rod high above his head, a surge of power coursed through his veins. The once formidable King of Koopas now stood taller, his muscles bulging with newfound strength. The Star Rod's magic enveloped him, forming an impenetrable barrier that shielded him from Mario's attacks.
Mario's eyes widened in shock as his jumps seemed to have no effect on Bowser. Mario quickly assessed the situation. The Star Rod's power had made him invincible, turning the tide of the battle in his favor. Bowser laughed triumphantly, relishing in his newfound dominance over Mario. "Gwa ha ha ha ha ha! How do you like that Mario!?"
But Mario was not one to give up easily. He couldn't let the Mushroom Kingdom fall into the clutches of the Koopa King. He knew that he had to find a way to overcome Bowser's invincibility and save the Mushroom Kingdom from his tyrannical rule. He jumped again, but it failed to make a dent in Bowser's invincibility. Mario looked around for any signs of weakness in his foe. But to no avail.
"Yup. Just as I expected. Mario's no match for the new me. It's not even worth my time to toy with you anymore, Mario. It's time to end this! Here we go Mario! Good night!" Bowser inhaled and breathed out fire. Peach watched horrified as she tried to get Mario up. The princess; tears streaming down her face, desperately pleaded with Mario to get up.
"Oh no! Mario! Get up!" she cried, her voice filled with both fear and hope.
Bowser, on the other hand, reveled in his apparent victory. His laughter echoed throughout the battlefield, his triumph overpowering. "Yes! Oh yeah! I did it! I finally did it! I beat my old rival Mario!" he boomed, his voice dripping with arrogance.
Kammy Koopa, Bowser's loyal advisor, wasted no time in praising her king. "Congratulations on your victory, your viciousness! That's why you're the king!" she exclaimed, her voice filled with sycophantic admiration.
"As long as I have this Star Rod, everything I wish will come true! No one can stop me now!" Bowser turned to the fallen plumber. "Well, Well, Well...I guess I might as well get rid of Mario. He's no good to anyone. That's for sure." And with that, he used the Star Rod's power to strike Mario with lightening. As Mario was flung out of the window by Bowser's powerful lightning strike, he tumbled through the air, his body battered and bruised; unknowingly landing safely in a lush forest below.
In the meantime, Peach's heart shattered as she witnessed the horrific scene unfold before her eyes. She was quickly escorted by the Koopatrols to her room, where her mind raced with thoughts of Mario's safety and the dire situation they were now facing. The room felt suffocating, and Peach longed for a way to help Mario and put an end to Bowser's reign of terror.
"Then what happened uncle?" Parakara asked.
"That's going to be for another night." And so, Parakarry quietly stood up, placed a gentle kiss on Parakara's forehead. "Oh, I got something for you." Parkararry went down to his room and rummaged through his mailbag. He pulled out the glowing lava rock he found days ago. He flew back up to Parakara's room. "It's for you. I found it near a volcano." Parakara held the rock in awe.
"It's beautiful Uncle. Thank you." Parakara placed it on her bedside table.
"You're welcome Kara." Parakarry kissed her forehead again and whispered, "Goodnight, Kara. May your dreams be filled with wonder and magic." With that, he turned off the lights and left the room. Parakarry flew into his room and pulled out a sheet of paper from his desk. He sat down and grabbed a pen. How was he going to do this?
