Chapter 17
As we soared through the Dimensions, our arrival led us to an unexpected destination—a realm within the Sevestar Region. However, something perplexing had occurred: this familiar place now lay shrouded in an unyielding ice age. Lillie's voice trembled with disbelief as she uttered, "What in the world is happening here? The entirety of this world seems to have succumbed to ice..."
"Looks like we've landed in the wrong dimension once more... but what on earth is happening here?" I exclaimed, my voice tinged with horror. The biting cold had taken its toll, evident in the shivers wracking Absol and Zoroark. Without hesitation, I summoned Charizard, relying on its fiery warmth to shield them from the freezing chill.
"Seems like we've taken a detour from returning to your world and stumbled upon a realm trapped in eternal ice," Captain Phyco remarked, a note of observation in their voice.
"Lunala might have had its reasons for bringing us here, but as always, it needs time to recuperate before resuming its dimensional travels," Soliera suggested thoughtfully. "I propose we seek assistance from someone in this area. Clearly, the cold is dampening the spirits of not just us but also Lunala."
"Thankfully, our suits come equipped with built-in heaters, ensuring our well-being as long as we keep them on," Captain Phyco reassured, emphasizing the importance of maintaining their protective gear.
"Why, hello there! What brings you to this realm?" We looked up to see a young girl making her way toward us, her features reminiscent of Serena's, yet with white hair. Beside her stood a shiny Mawile and a Froslass, both poised at her side. "I must admit, your suits are quite peculiar-looking," she remarked with a hint of curiosity.
"Ah, yes, well, these suits are actually designed to keep us warm," I explained, attempting to justify our peculiar attire. However, the incredulous expressions from my companions made it clear they were silently questioning my explanation with looks that seemed to say, "Seriously?"
Spotting the Charizard nearby, she pointed and inquired, "Is that your Charizard? It bears a resemblance to my Dad's."
"That's my Charizard, indeed. Your dad?" I questioned, a hint of surprise in my voice. "And your dad's name?"
"Ah, my apologies! I'm Sarah Ketchum," she introduced herself with a grin. "And my father is none other than the renowned World Champion, Ash Ketchum!"
Wait, I have a daughter in this dimension this time? How old am I actually in this timeline? Lillie, equally surprised, chimed in, "Hold on, your father is Ash Ketchum? What about your mother?"
"My Mom? It seems you're unaware of quite a bit," Sarah replied with a chuckle. "My mother is none other than the renowned Top Coordinator and Sevestar Princess, Serena Ketchum, of course."
So this time it is me and Serena? Well, considering that there is one with me and Lillie, one with me and Alice... "That reminds me," Sarah pondered aloud, her gaze shifting between us. "Your voice sounds remarkably similar to Lillie's. What's the deal with that?"
Captain Phyco interjected politely, "Apologies for the rush, but we're in need of a place for our Lunalas to rest. Could you guide us to a suitable spot?"
Sarah glanced around, realizing her oversight. "Oh, my bad. Seems I got carried away and didn't notice your Pokémon still waiting outside."
As we trailed behind Sarah, we entered the grand Sevestar Castle, our temporary shelter. Sarah's voice echoed through the halls as she called out, "Mom, Dad! I've brought some weirdos home. Care to come and greet them?"
"Weirdos? Us?" It seemed a collective thought crossed our minds as we encountered this alternate version of myself. His jet-black hair was tousled and his brown eyes gazed vacantly into the night sky. He sported a lengthy, ebony coat over a gray T-shirt, paired with jet-black pants, black winter boots, and fingerless gloves in the same shade. Alongside this alternate me, Serena emerged—her appearance marked by long, wavy, honey-blond hair and piercing blue eyes. She donned a striking red winter coat, complemented by light pink snow pants and sturdy brown boots.
In the background stood a Greninja and a Pikachu; however, this Pikachu was noticeably different—it was a female Pikachu, distinct from the one I knew.
"Ruby, didn't I mention to you about inviting strangers here?" Serena queries, her voice tinged with weariness.
"But Mom, Dad always taught us to lend a hand to those in need," Sarah explained earnestly. "And these four individuals need our assistance. That's why I brought them here, so we can help them."
"I did mention that. So, who exactly are you four?" The alternate version of me inquired, prompting me to remove my helmet. Both versions of myself seemed taken aback upon seeing our identical faces. "You're like a younger version of me," he remarked, visibly surprised.
"Nice to meet you all. I'm Ash Ketchum, but from a different world," I introduced myself. "This is Lillie, also from my world. And these two are Captain Phyco and Soliera; they come from a different world called the Ultra Metropolis, although it's a weird place without light."
"Wait, you're Lillie? And you're the same age as my alternate version of my Dad?" Sarah inquired, visibly surprised by the revelation.
"What do you mean by the same age? What's happening here?" Lillie asked, her voice laced with confusion, echoing the puzzlement shared by everyone present.
The alternate version of me shrugged casually. "Our daughter has been dating Gladion, so it's not that strange."
"Wait, what?" Lillie's astonishment was palpable. Serena, trying to piece together the situation, asked, "So, what kind of world do you come from? It seems your Kalos journey has concluded, judging by your appearance."
"I did complete the Kalos League," I affirmed, and my three Pokémon nodded in agreement. The alternate version of me noticed the absence of Pikachu and asked, "Where's your Pikachu? Did it also betray you?"
"Pikachu betray me? Absolutely not. She's staying in our world with Alice," I clarified.
"Alice? Wulfric's daughter?" the other me echoed in surprise, to which I nodded. "So you're acquainted with her too?"
"Well, Alice was a part of my Elite Four until her father retired and returned to the Kalos Region. That's when she took on the role as the Snowbelle Gym Leader. Sarah here stepped in as her replacement," the other me says.
"Indeed, having a daughter in the Elite Four is pretty impressive," I remarked. "Now, I have some questions, are we truly in the Sevestar Region?"
"This is the Sevestar Region, situated near the South Pole. Given our current location in the southern part of the region and the time being June, it seems perpetual snow is the norm here," the other me says, "I assume that your Sevestar Region isn't?"
"Well, our Sevestar Region positioned between Alola and Hoenn, the weather tends to be quite pleasant," Lillie remarked.
"Wow, that sounds incredible. We've always admired Alola. Occasionally, we take vacations there, especially now that our other son, Chase, is attending Alola's Trainer School," Serena shares.
"Alright, that clarifies a lot. Now, about Pikachu 'betraying' you—what's that about?" I inquires.
"Fifteen years ago, roughly the age you are now, I participated in the Kalos League and secured second place. In subsequent leagues, I achieved Top 4 in Sinnoh, Top 8 in Johto, Hoenn, and Unova, and Top 16 in Kanto. Upon returning to Pallet Town, my friends turned their backs on me due to my inability to win a league, and we were constantly harassed by the persistent Team Rocket," I explained. "And sadly, Pikachu joined them."
"That's indeed messed up! If being unable to win a league is a reason for betrayal, what about all those other trainers who lost in the Leagues?" Lillie interjected, expressing her disbelief at the unjust reasoning behind the betrayal.
"Yeah, and that's when Professor Oak decides to just lie to the whole world that I abuse my Pokemon, along with sexually abusing my female Pokémon as well, among other things." I say, "Unfortunately, because of his reputation, the entire world believed that I really did that. It wasn't until a few months ago that Sawyer helped me film a live confession, which finally restored my reputation."
Seeing our pissed faces, Serena says, "I see that you guys are also pissed as well, but don't worry, Professor Oak is already dead, Ash shot him in the head in the prison. As for those traitors, it's important to note that they broke the law by corrupting their Pokémon, transforming them into Shadow Pokémon. Some of them can't even control them as they are killed by them, as for those who survived, they got the death penalty by the law."
"Okay, so they deserved it. But what about Pikachu?" Lillie asks.
"Well, let's say when I was too angry for revenge, I accidentally slammed him so hard in the Pokemon battle that she got crashed into the pieces of glass that stabbed through his body... but don't worry, he has come back as a Rotom." The other me sighs. "Setting aside my story, for now, I notice your Charizard, Absol, and Zoroark. However, that Charizard you possess... I can't shake the feeling that it resembles the one owned by Alain."
"I assume you and Alain are different individuals?" I inquire.
"Wait, are you implying that you and Alain are the same person?" the other me questions.
"Yes, that's correct. I managed to split myself. I assume you're not Arceus, but rather an Aura user like the worlds we've visited?" I inquire.
"I'm an aura user, but to think one of me is an Arceus... that is actually cool." The other me says.
"So, if you're Ash but also Alain simultaneously, does that mean you were essentially battling yourself in the Kalos League you participated in?" Serena queries.
"Yeah, that's right," I affirm with a nod.
"Mom, Dad, this conversation is getting tiring. How much longer are you going to keep talking?" Sarah inquires, prompting Serena to decide it is time to depart, and they leave together.
As they leave, I turn to the other me and ask, "What's the story with your daughter? I mean, her skin is incredibly pale."
"She has albinism, a genetic condition that affects pigmentation, causing a lack of melanin in the skin, hair, and eyes," I explained, sighing. "My mom mentioned that I have the genes, but it doesn't manifest in me. Currently, she doesn't exhibit any unusual symptoms and behaves just like us. Perhaps it's due to our aura that she seems unaffected."
"I'm sorry to hear that," I frowned in empathy.
The other me nodded understandingly, "So, I assume you're stranded here and won't be able to leave until the Lunalas recover? In that case, you're welcome to stay at our castle."
"Thank you so much." We say as he decides to show us the guest rooms, which is still the same as the guest rooms of our castle.
