Note: While we're loving the reaction the Gotham plot is having for New Justice, unfortunately I'm just not feeling it with a Batman/Batwoman Plot, so it will actually be resolved early into part 2 of this story. But don't worry, there's still some good Kate/Beth plots and what we have planned to replace the Gotham side of the story I'm really excited for, so expect those chapters to run better than these.

The Wills of the League

It had been a week since Alice and Kate had gone public and tried to get Bruce's inheritance. Since then, they had managed to move into the house they had gotten and received their money. The Wayne Estate and banks had worked fast.

"How long before you're done dear sister?" Kate asked; her sister was carving a fresh face for Mouse to use as their new lawyer, and a special face for Kate too – it was a morbid skill she had acquired while they'd been locked away all these years.

"Tomorrow the face will be done," Alice said, sowing with skin as if it was fabric, sewed together intricately. "You'll look like her."

"And once we get rid of the little one, we'll be Bruce's only heirs," Kate said.

"Isn't this a little mad? She is a baby," it was Mouse who spoke up at this.

"Oh, dear Mouse. You should know by now: We're all mad here," Kate said back, smirking.

-New Justice-

"Well, she's asleep, finally," Tommy said taking a seat, speaking of his and Sara's daughter. "I had to read Goodnight Moon to her like five times."

"Still want two more kids?" Sara asked Tommy, leaning into him; Tommy putting an arm around his wife.

"With you. Yes," Tommy said with a smile. He leaned in to kiss Sara but the two were interrupted by a knock on the door. "Come in." Tommy called out.

Selina walked into the guest house at this.

"Oh sorry, if I interrupted anything," Selina said.

"It's fine," Sara dismissed. "Something you need?"

"I need to ask you two something," Selina said, moving forward.

"Go on," Tommy nodded.

"Well, since the Trust for Helen is officially established, Alfred has gotten on me about making a Will," Selina began. "If something were to happen to me… well I don't want that Kate and Beth to get their hands on Helen. Alfred suggested making a list of people I trust to take care of Helen and, well, you two are practically my co-parents as it is, these days. Would you two be Helen's guardians if something happened to me?"

"Oh Selina, we'd love to," Sara said right away.

"Kathleen and Helen are basically sisters now anyway," Tommy agreed with a smile. "Who else are you putting down in case we're not available?"

"Julia Pennyworth is now second if you two die. I was going to put Alfred, but he suggested his daughter instead. And as for third… well I was thinking Kara and Rae. Rae knew Helen's father and was basically like a little sister or cousin. Plus, I know from experience they would do anything to practice a League child," Selina said. "I just don't know if they would be willing."

"I am sure they won't mind being your third backup," Sara smiled. "But if you're concerned you can ask them at the meeting tomorrow morning." Rae had wanted a full League meeting tomorrow.

"Thanks, I'll let you get back to your night," Selina said, and got up to head back to the main house.

"Babe, do we have a will?" Tommy asked after Selina left, and Sara paused. "Seems like something stupid for two people who were previously declared dead not to have..." he joked, and Sara nodded her agreement. "Who would we leave Kathleen to?"

"Well Laurel would be my first choice," Sara said immediately, and Tommy had to agree. Laurel was Kathleen's aunt and had kids of her own, plus she was well off enough to take in Kathleen. "And then of course Selina. Helen and Kathleen are like sisters, like we said. What about Thea?"

"Oh, I don't know if I would consider Thea a third," Tommy mused, and Sara nodded her agreement. Thea and JT weren't that big on children. "And mom is enjoying her retirement. It would be unfair to put a child on her in her late age."

"Same with my parents. Is it sad to say I think Rae and Kara would be a great third as well? I mean they are great, love the kids, have superpowers, both Kara and Rae make a lot of money off the Sanctuary, and they do know all the important people to tell stories to the kids about," Sara said.

"I was thinking Rae and Kara as well," Tommy said with a nod. "Maybe tomorrow we can mention to Laurel and get a will going?"

"Sure," Sara said, going to send her sister a text telling her they had a legal matter they wanted to discuss with her tomorrow.

"Hey, do you know what this meeting is about tomorrow though?" Tommy asked.

"I do," Sara said with a nod. "Kara and Rae brought me into something, and we all decided it was time for the entire League to know this time. And no, I will not tell you ahead of time. You'll have to wait like everyone else." Tommy pouted at this, and Sara leaned over to kiss her husband.

-New Justice-

The next morning Kara was walking into her and Rae's room. Rae was sitting on the bed with several books around her and putting them into the trunk Mon had re-furnished for them.

"Are those your dad's journals?" Kara asked.

"No, mine," Rae said.

"I didn't know you kept journals," Kara remarked; Kara knew Rae kept cooking notes on her own creations, but actual journals she'd never heard of.

"I didn't, but I remembered how much reading my dad's journals meant to me as a kid and while I do plan on sharing those with Leona and eventually Ari and our other child, I thought getting my own together might be nice too. I used League reports, my own memories, and notes I kept, to go back to the beginning. It's not as good as if I did it day by day but I got the important moments and my feelings down on them. Now I am caught up I am going to continue day by day," Rae said.

"Let me see," Kara said, taking a seat and picking up one of the journals and then held it up.

"What the... what's this?" The writing was clearly not in English.

"Okay I did it in Speed Force. Sorry," Rae said. "More than willing to read it to you." Rae added as Kara closed the book and handed it to Rae.

"Maybe later. We need to get to Watchtower," Kara said.

"Not a prob… wait this one is not mine," Rae said picking up another book. "What is this?" Rae flipped it open. "Met at a bar... Male... Name Benny. Local of Smallville… You kept sex journals?!" Kara paused as Rae read. "You rated performance, size of male sexual organ, and whether or not you would sleep with them again..."

"I thought I burned all of those," Kara remarked, going to grab the journal but Rae still had her powers and Kara was powerless under the dome, so Rae quickly got out of the way.

"Oh, this one has Sara and Adam in it," Rae said laughing as she flipped through the journal. "And Dinah Drake!"

"Give it," Kara said, as Rae laughed and handed the journal over to her wife. "We're going to keep this between us, right?"

"Would I tell your secrets?" Rae asked, kissing her wife on the cheek. At this, Rae stood and headed for the door, intending to go downstairs, still amused at her wife's sex journal.

Once downstairs, Rae took Leona from her playpen where Kara had left her and summoned her Flash outfit. Kara was fast following her and the two headed for the zap tunnel outside of the dome. Rae was in a very good mood as she laughed, causing Leona to start laughing with her. Clarky followed the group to Watchtower, too.

When they arrived, the whole League was there and all seemed to be busy doing something.

"What's going on here?" Kara asked, glad to see and feel through their bond her wife in a good mood – even if it was embarrassing for her considering the reason why.

"Oh, Selina started making a Will," Sara said, indicating Batwoman who was sitting there. "And it made me and Tommy realize we didn't have one either, so we asked Laurel about it who realized she didn't have one, and now the entire League are making Wills."

"Especially those with kids, which by the way you two are on like everyone lists as people who can take their kids should they die. You're my second choice; Sara and Tommy's Third, and Selina Third," Laurel said.

"Our First," Winn spoke up; he and Mon had gotten married recently, followed a few weeks later by Adam and Nora. Winn and Mon had taken in and adopted a teenaged meta named Dougie since, who could send people into TV shows – they were also in the middle of adopting a young meta girl, named Susan. "I mean being House of El and all, having you and Rae as our first makes sense," Winn added; with Mon an official member of the House of El, obviously Kara had welcomed Winn into the House as well.

"Well, this day went from hilarious to depressing, but does lead to one question: none of you had a Will in place?" Rae asked, seeming shocked.

"You do?" Adam asked.

"Of course, we do," Kara said. Clarky gave a bark as if it was the most obvious thing in the world to have.

"We even revised it when we took in Courtney," Rae said as all the League paused at this revelation. "I mean we kept it simple enough: if one of us were to die and the other survive everything goes to the other, but if we both were to die, the majority of what we have would be left for the care of Leona and for her to take when she comes of age. We also left for Chris and Courtney to make sure they would both be okay should we pass."

"You don't have to do that," Chris spoke up. He had been sitting off to the side – as the youngest of the League, he didn't really have a need for the Will now.

"Of course, we do," Kara said.

"What about Leona?" It was Laurel who asked. "Who becomes her guardian?"

"We have a list of six possible guardians for Leona," Rae said.

"Seven since we revised the will when we took in Courtney," Kara added

"Seven? Isn't that a bit overkill?" Selina asked.

"Well, I did watch my entire League die," Rae pointed out.

"And I watched a planet blow up, killing everyone on it," Kara added. "So, we were very exact with backup plans."

"Are you going to tell us?" Mon asked.

"Well, should we both die, our first choice is my Aunt and Uncle. They handled me – they can handle Leona," Rae said, giving Leona a kiss as she said it.

"Then, it's Lois," Kara said.

"And, in order, it's Chris," Rae said, giving Chris a smile as the man seemed shocked he was third in line to get Leona should Rae and Kara die. "Courtney is Fourth. Ha-Pri is fifth, sixth would be my grandparents, and seventh is... oh, no it, was definitely six."

"Rae, seventh is…" Kara began, and then stopped herself. "No, you're right it's six."

"It is definitely seven and you don't want to tell us who is the seventh," Donna pointed out, having been quiet until then. Since she didn't have kids herself, she had also not joined in on much of the Will and guardianship talk, but she could tell the two were lying.

"Do we need to start hacking?" Jess asked.

"This meeting actually had a purpose," Rae said, but noticed the looks. "They are not going to let this go, are they?"

"Just tell them," Kara said.

"It's Frankie and Gypsy," Rae sighed, and noticed the looks.

"What?!" Nearly everyone in the League said, especially those who had been around when Rae and Frankie had broken up and remembered the drama.

"How?" Adam asked.

"Rae made some good points," Kara said. "Frankie knows more about both her powers and my powers than anyone else. He and Gypsy could keep up with her. And he knows everything about us to tell her stories."

"Why is the only League member on the list Chris?" Sara asked; Frankie and Gypsy being only Friends of the League, not in the League itself.

"Well, we thought about adding Laurel or you two," Rae admitted, looking at Sara and Tommy. "But once we got into sixth and seventh backup, we figured we were thinking of worst-case scenarios where all the League was dead. We even have our ultimate backup plan in place."

"Ultimate backup plan?" Winn asked.

"You had to mention that," Kara sighed, and Rae nodded. This conversation had gotten out of hand.

"In the event everyone in our Will is dead and can't take Leona, Karry Universe's Kara and Barry will come to take Leona to their world and raise her as their own," Rae said. "We also promised if the worst happened to their world, we would come get Star, Romana, Nora, Alura, and Kent and raise them as our own."

"I wish I could say that wasn't a good idea, but it definitely was," Sara said. "But I guess we should get to the actual purpose of this meeting?" She wanted this conversation moved on.

"Yes, thank you Sara," Rae said, glad to move on as she stepped forward, so her entire League was around her. "This is something I told Kara and Sara and the three of us together decided it was time to bring the rest of the League into. Last year, on Dinah's wedding, when I went into the Sphere of the Gods to return the Totems," Rae gave Tantu a nod at this, the woman had felt bad about those Totems for an entire year, knowing it was her and her grandmother who had caused them to become damaged, but maybe now knowing it was giving them a little information would help her, "Aunt Sphere warned me of a coming darkness to this world."

"Darkness?" This was Tantu who asked. "What type of darkness?"

"She wasn't exact. All she said was that maybe the Totems would be ready to be sent back here before the coming darkness," Rae admitted. "We've had such a quiet year; I've got to believe this will be coming sooner rather than later. Is there any such darkness connected to the Totems in myths?" She asked Tantu at this.

"Well, there's the demon, Mallus," Tantu said.

"He's dead," Nora Darkh remarked, making eyes turn to her. "Yeah, I know a bit about demons."

"Then no," Tantu said. "I could look through more of the books about the Totems my grandmother had?"

"Do so, but it might not help. Just because Aunt Sphere said they could help doesn't mean it's traditionally connected to the Totems. On Karry Universe, the six bearers combined their powers and became one to take on a creature from Atlantis," Rae explained. "What I want is everyone in their cities. Keep your eyes out for anything that could be bigger than us."

The League, one by one, gave a yes at this as Leona gave a laugh out. Rae kissed her daughter before dismissing the League, although most remained to discuss their Will.

"I want a training session. I'll grab Sideways. Selina, Sara?" Tommy asked, moving away from the remaining League.

"I'll join," Selina said.

"I'll go back and watch the kids," Sara stated, as the three from Gotham left.

"I'm going to head back to the Sanctuary. You coming?" Kara asked Rae.

"Going to my Aunt and Uncle. I'll take Leona," Rae said giving Kara a kiss before leaving. Clarky going to follow his mistress.

"Of course, you will," Kara sighed - it was a rarity she saw her own daughter away from Rae these days.

-New Justice-

After the meeting, Sara headed back to the manor intending to relive Alfred of watching over the kids.

Sitting on the floor with them and playing with both, Sara was impressed as Helen went to jump at her – a little too hard. "I think Rae is right about you," Sara said to Helen – it had been a few hours after the meeting now. "We've got to figure out your powers, exactly."

Sara's cellphone rang at that, and Sara put both kids in a playpen before grabbing it.

"Hi mom," Sara said, taking the phone.

"Hi, sweetie," her mother said back. "Me and your father were planning a trip to Gotham to see you, Tommy, and Kathleen. We wanted to know what good dates for you would be?"

"Oh, we can make anything work, but let me see if you have anything planned first," Sara said, moving away and going into the other room for a moment – still in hearing distance of the kids.

From the other side of the room Selina entered quietly, but she had a knife in her hand. She paused as she saw the two kids. "Two? But which one is Helen," she said looking over them for a moment.

"Mama," Helen said, being the elder of the girls, and Selina had to give a smirk as she went to move her knife but stopped when she heard footsteps and quickly put the knife behind her back in time to see Sara walk back in.

"Selina," Sara said, re-entering the room and smiling. "I thought you would be at least another hour with how competitive you and Tommy can get." Sara looked down at her watch as she said this. "Is Tommy back or still trying to correct Derek?"

"I'm not sure," Selina said, but her voice didn't sound quite right to Sara.

"...are you okay?" Sara asked and Selina gave a nod.

"Why don't you take your kid and go? I want some time alone," Selina remarked, as if she was ordering Sara off which that made Sara raise an eyebrow – this definitely wasn't how Selina usually talked. "Now!"

"What's my name?" Sara demanded, suddenly.

"What?" Selina asked.

"It's a simple question. What's my name? And what's my daughter's name?" Sara asked, moving herself forward so she was between Selina and the playpen. "These are questions Selina would answer in a heartbeat, the real Selina – but you're not her."

Knowing her cover was blown, the fake Selina took the knife out from behind her back and went at Sara with it. The former League of Assassins member, though, carefully dodged and caught the fake Selina's arm. The two started to trade hits as Helen and Kathleen cried out, seeing what looked like their mothers' fighting. Sara saw that this Selina lookalike was trying to get to the kids as they fought – and more specifically, Helen.

"What is…?" Alfred began, coming in and just dodging the knife that was thrown near him, it hit a wall as the fake Selina was thrown back. With this, her face literally slipped, but not enough they saw her face real face behind the perfect skin mask. Knowing when to bail, the fake Selina, decided to ditch.

"Alfred, send an alert. Someone just tried to kill Helen!" Sara snapped.

"On it," Alfred said as Sara ran after the Selina impersonator, but she was gone already.

-New Justice-

Back in Central-National, Nora Allen was sitting with Rae, who was feeding Leona.

"So, you don't mind babysitting tonight," Nora asked. Clarky was playing with a toy and running around, playing with his two siblings Marble and Dizzy who Nora and Henry had taken in for protection.

"Of course, I don't mind taking care of my little brothers. Where are they now?" Rae asked of Ryan and Richie, the flying meta kids whom Nora and Henry had officially adopted a while ago.

"With friends. They have a lot of friends now. It seems being able to fly makes them popular with their classmates," Nora said, and Rae had to chuckle – unlike her, who kept her powers a secret throughout her childhood, it seems Ryan and Richie had been happy to show the world who they were.

"You're going out with Joe and Francine, right?" Rae asked. "How are they?"

"They are doing well. What Wally, Walter, and Iris have done pains them, but they have been good since, moving into a smaller place for them," Nora said. "Making some new friends and going out. There's a small legal battle going on between them and one of Walter's baby-mammas, but nothing that's headline news. Then again, Francine wants Joe to retire but he's not ready." Rae nodded glad the two were doing well at least.

"I fixed up that the internet for you," a voice spoke, that surprised Rae as Frankie walked in. "Oh, hi Rae. When did you get here?"

"When did you?" Rae asked back.

"You!" Leona copied her mother.

"Been here for a while. Nora asked me to look at their internet," Frankie said.

"Hope you don't mind?" Nora said, not realizing until now that the situation could be awkward between the former lovers. "Now that you two are good with each other... well, honestly Frankie has been like an extra son to us for a while."

"I got no problem with it," Rae said, completely truthfully. "Although, Frankie, you might want to stay away from all League members not me, Kara, and Sara for a while."

"Oh Rao. What did I do this time?" Frankie asked, half joking, half serious.

"Nothing," Rae admitted. "We got into talks about Wills and we mentioned we had seven possible guardians down for Leona should me and Kara die. They are kind of upset you're on the list and most of them are not..." Frankie's mouth dropped open at this. "Don't look so stunned."

"You would trust me with Leona?" Frankie asked, a smile coming across his face now. He looked a little too happy at this news.

"Well, for a long time I thought you would be the father of my kids," Rae admitted to him. "So, yes, I would. You are our 7th choice though. To get Leona, Aunt Nora and Uncle Henry, Lois, Chris, Courtney, Ha-Pi, and my grandparents need to die, as well as me and Kara."

"Still, unbelievable," Frankie said.

"Speaking of Wills, Henry and I have been thinking of updating ours," Nora voiced. "We were going to name you and Kara as Ryan and Richie's guardians should we die."

"Well, that's apparently a popular opinion," Rae joked, confusing Nora. "Of course, I'd take the two if you and Uncle Henry die," Nora grinned at this, just as Rae's communicator went off and she looked at the message.

"Oh hell no. Not on my watch." Rae summoned her Flash outfit, to Leona's amusement and ran, off putting her helmet on her head along with her goggles. Clarky ran after her.

"What was that about?" Nora asked Frankie.

"No idea. But I guess we're watching Leona right now," Frankie commented, the little girl still in her grandma's arms.

-New Justice-

Rae ran into the Wayne Manor with Clarky, who was in his Flash Pup outfit. Tommy and Selina were back, and Selina was holding Helen. The toddler didn't understand why her mother was so upset. Derek, otherwise known as Sideways, was sitting there too, having been with Tommy at the time. Sara was leaning against a wall and Alfred was standing off to the side as well. Kathleen was in her playpen seeming to be taking a nap and the adults were in discussion as Rae arrived.

"What happened?" Rae asked, causing the adults to stop talking as Sara recounted the events of the fake Selina and how she realized she wasn't real and the fight.

"Who'd want to kill Helen?" Rae's eyes went to Selina at this.

"If I knew, I would kill them," Selina said, the threat very real in her voice. Rae completely agreed with this.

"Any enemies from your time as Catwoman who might have connected Selina Kyle to your alter ego?" Rae asked, very aware Selina being at the court and being the mother of Bruce's daughter had made papers.

"No," Selina said. "I was very careful. Besides most of my old associates are either dead, in jail, or in Arkham."

"What about Bruce? His enemies," Tommy said.

"Master Bruce had some political enemies due to work and business rivals, the Queens being one such rival," Alfred said, and Tommy had to nod at that. "But none of those would resort to killing an heir. There's no benefit to that. As for Batman's enemies, no, Bruce's identity was secure to the day he died. I even made it look like Bruce was alive longer than Batman himself was confirmed dead by Wonder Woman and Superman so there was no connection."

"What about Kate and Beth Kane?" Sara asked, turning eyes to her. "The only true motive to get rid of Helen would be to get hands on the majority of Bruce's estate which is now in trust for her."

"If little Mistress Helen were to die, the Trust would be released and given to Selina," Alfred pointed out. "The only reason why the two were able to contest the Will was because of their family connections to Bruce and the fact Bruce thought them dead. Now Bruce's State is completely settled. There's no way for it to be reassigned to the Kane twins."

"Do you think they know that?" Sara asked.

"That's a good point," Rae voiced, and Alfred had to concede. It was possible the two were unaware of what would happen should Helen died. "But there's no proof. We can't get them arrested. What I can do is lay a warning to them. Alfred, give me directions to their new home."

"Rae," Selina said. "This darkness… do you think...?"

"Selina, you know I would do anything to protect the kids, but we're talking about one of the Forces of the Universes. I highly doubt an attempt on a child life or even Beth and Kate Kane could be major enough for a warning from one of them," Rae said, and Selina gave a nod as Rae gave Helen a kiss before running off with Clarky.

"Darkness?" Alred asked the rest of the room once Rae and Clarky had gone.

"Long story," Sara remarked.

…..

Running into the house the Kane twins had inherited through their court proceedings. Clarky besides her as always, Rae saw the siblings were talking but stopped the moment Rae appeared. Rae took them in for a second: compared to her dark hair from the papers last week, Beth now had really blonde hair with bangs, while Kate seemed to stay for natural and short.

"Flash," the one who Rae thought was Beth said.

"Someone tried to kill Helen Kyle," Rae said. "You two wouldn't know anything about that?"

"I am offended by the accusation! We were just going to have a little tea party," Kate said, in a way that Rae knew she was lying. She couldn't prove it, but they had to have been the ones to attack Helen.

"Let me make one thing clear," Rae said holding herself back. "Back when the Justice League was first starting out, Bruce Wayne was one of the big forces in helping set up by providing money and equipment. The League has long since been self-sufficient, but we honor our early debts. That debt has moved from Bruce Wayne to his daughter and her mother. The people living at Wayne Manor have a way to alert us now. So, should one hair be touched on Helen's head I will bring down my power on them." Clarky gave a growl to agree. "Understood?"

"Crystal," Beth said, leaning back from Clarky who was still showing his teeth.

"Good," Rae said and gave Clarky a nod as the two to ran out.

-New Justice-

Later that night, Rae had gotten Ryan and Richie settled down by putting on a Jurassic Park movie after dinner. The two boys snuggling with the three Kryptonian dogs as they watched the movie. Rae had brought a tired Leona upstairs to her old room where a crib was set up for the girl.

"Jurassic Park?" Kara said, having come in and gave Rae a kiss, Rae having told her wife they were at the Allens for the night. "Sure... that's a good movie for before bed."

"They wanted it," Rae shrugged. "Besides it's not that scary. So, you miss me?"

"Always," Kara said as they sat down. "Heard about Helen. You really think it was Kate and Beth Kane?"

Rae gave a sad nod. "I wish we had found them long ago. Maybe they wouldn't be… whatever they are," Rae said.

"This isn't anyone's fault but the person who held them," Kara said, bringing Rae in close.

"Some Cartwright guy," Rae admitted, having read the paper revealing all about their incarceration for so long.

"Shame he's already dead, or he'd feel the wrath of the Flash," Kara joked, causing Rae to chuckle.

"Oh, by the way, my aunt and uncle mentioned should something happen to them we get Ryan and Richie," Rae changed topic.

"Yeah, and everyone in the League with kids have us down now. We could end up with a lot of children," Kara said.

"How about we agree to not let anything happen to their parents?" Rae asked.

"Agreed," Kara said, kissing Rae's cheek, as the two went to watch the rest of the movie with the kids.

Post Chapter Note: Well, I hope you liked this. We have a few more chapters left of Kate and Beth's plans. If you can't tell, I wasn't really feeling them, despite the theme of this series, so there's only so much I'm going to do with the Kane twins before their fate is truly decided. But don't worry, what I have planned will be good.
