I get up early in the morning. Today is a new day and I have to go run the aptitude test. The test will tell potential initiates which faction they belong . They can choose to listen to the result or still make their own choice

I have to pay attention to those people who are aware in aptitude test because if they are aware of what they are doing ， then that means they are divergent.

Divergent are just someone who can't control by the serum but I am not sure why this is threatening erudite that much . I get up and go into bathroom.

I open the hot shower and take off my cloth. I am fully tattooed with ink . I have a Phoenix at my back and a hawk in the front. They are piece of art for me but for abnegation， they are tied to vanity and greed .

I don't really care about them . I walk into the bath tub and let the hot shower runs through my skin . I put on soap which is rosy flavour . It feels nice through my skin and I feel happy.

I get out of the bath tub and wear my jacket. I zip up the jacket to my throat and then my black boots .

I sneak out of my room and I walk toward cafeteria . When I enter the second floor cafeteria where all leaders are sitting together ， Alexander waves at me

"Here Violet." He smiles at me ."I want you to do something after you finished the aptitude test okay?"

"Yes sir what do you want?" I raise my eyebrows

"I want you to go to Candor and get me some truth serum." Alexander seems worried."We may have traitor in dauntless ."

I open my eyes wide . I don't know what he is referring to

"Why? Alexander what happens?" I stand up.

"I will talk to you after you are back okay? Just focused on your duty." Alexander leans back

"Sure sir ." I grab a muffin from the table and bite it

We may have traitor . What he is referring to here? After I finish my breakfast， I leave the cafeteria and toward the pit. Kennedy and Jenny are walking toward the exits too

"Hey morning." I nudge them with my elbow

"Hey， where are you going?" Kennedy seems to be still sleepy."I am in the patrolling leadership program and she is working as a fence guard ."

"I am going to administer the aptitude test!" I shake my head ."Then I have to go to Candor . Jenny ， you were from Candor right?"

Jenny nods at me . Her father is also the leader of the Candor .

"Yeah I was . I really miss my family. Can I go with you after ?" Jenny opens her eyes open.

"Yeah you can but don't make a loud noise okay?" I nod at her

We reach the train track . We sit at the ledge . Kennedy kicks her legs in the air

"I heard Alexander changed the method of the ranking system. As long as initiates have the enough score , no one will be out." Kennedy hums a little . "It is good to know ."

"Yeah then no one will attack anyone because they want to stay ." I nod at her . " at least it will be better . Joshua's idea though."

"He will be a good leader ." Elizabeth comes to the roof top

The train is blaring from far away. We stand up and ready to hop on the train. I have done it since when I was young so I am not really afraid of it.

"How many time before you became the initiate have you done this ." Elizabeth asks me

"Dozen time , I am dauntless born don't you remember ?" I laugh

I grab one of the handle and drag myself in . Kennedy is trying to do it but her leg was injured from the attack so I grab her from under her arm and drags her in.

"Thanks ." She coughs

"Are you still okay with your leg ?" Jenny and Elizabeth narrow their eyes

"I am fine . It is getting better now . Don't worry about it okay?" Kennedy smiles . "You get off at the abnegation sector right?"

I nod at her . The train speeds up and we are all lower to the ground . I put my legs out of the car and I feel the wind presses against my legs .

"It's dangerous Violet ." Kennedy looks concern

"It's fine . I had done it so many time ." I shake my head . "Don't worry, it's fun."

"You guys are crazy . I have to say that." Kennedy shrugs .

Kennedy was from abnegation so she thinks that we are crazy which is normal.

"You are dauntless now Kennedy. You are kind of leader now ." I laugh.

"Yeah but I don't feel that I really belong in dauntless . I go through everything with your help." Kennedy sighs

"You know that we are friends right? Team work used to be a priority in dauntless . We are protecting the city together right not as individual ." I say

Jenny and Elizabeth nod at her . Kennedy pinches her lips together . Soon I have arrived at my destination . I jump off the train .

I walk toward the school . The school is designed by erudite because they are surrounded by mirror . I enter the school and everything are so quiet except the teaching from the teacher

All the class are sum up in the morning because the whole afternoon will be using for the test. I enter cafeteria and there are ten rooms along the wall which are just used for the aptitude test. I register with the abnegation volunteer

"Violet from dauntless?" The woman says

"Yes I am ." I straighten up.

"Room 5, and by the way very abnegation name ." Woman smiles at me

I know that she is just trying to be friendly.

"I don't make myself associate with the abnegation and plus , gossiping is a sign of selfishness ."

I turn around and walk into the corridor . I open the room 5. Every room are the same and I forgot which room I was in before I became the initiate in dauntless .

I sit on the chair and open the computer . I tap something on the screen and start the program . I am not used to use the computer but this is very basic

Someone knock on the door . The first one is here

"Come in please ." I say

I look at the booklet. John from erudite . John wears a blue shirt and black pant. He is so nervous and his face is plaster pale

"My name is Violet . I am your examiner today . Sit down and get comfortable with yourself ." I smile at him. "It is not going to be painful."

He sits down on the chair and I put the electrode my own forehead and his head and then to the computer

"Why the snake and the flower ." John asks

"Yeah I can expect that from erudite and Candor ." I hum a little . "Flower represents envy and snake represents protector . I want to protect myself from envy."

"Envy is for abnegation though." He says

I look at him. Erudite doesn't like abnegation but they don't fight in public .

"Selflessness and bravery sometime are not different." I give him the liquid . "Drink this."

"What is it? What will happen?" John is hesitating

"I can't tell you that but trust me ." I nod at him

John tips the content into her mouth and I press the button. He is out. He is now standing in the cafeteria .

Same thing with two baskets in front of him and he has to choose either the knife which indicates that he is dauntless or the cheese which indicates that he is amity.

However what happens is that he didn't choose anything. The basket disappeared . A sigh of divergent , but that is not entirely true .

The dog appears and he slowly lower his body. It is a sign of erudite . I press the button and the girl appears there . He runs toward the dog and dog disappeared

I put him on the bus . He will talk to the Candor man . If he is dishonest , then he isn't Candor . What happen next prove that I am right.

He sits up with the sweat on his forehead . He is divergent

"Your result is perplexing John. Please excuse me ." I stand up and rush out the door

Before they can actually upload the result, I have to delete it. I walk to the IT room . A woman sits there

"Can I use the computer for a second?" I ask

"Why?" The woman pushes the glass up

"I need to use it for no reason . It is private ." I say coldly

She shivers a little . Everyone see dauntless as the cruelest of five faction and sometime it gives us the benefit of it.

"Okay." She stands up and walks away

I sit down and I type john's full name and his result is inconclusive . I press the delete button and type erudite in the space . Done , he is safe for now .

I walk back to the room and he is rolling back and forth

"I am sorry to worry you for so long." I smile at him. "John your result is inconclusive ."

"Why? How is that possible?" John's face is pale

"It is possible but extremely rare . As an erudite , you must know that the simulation will give out a result by ruling out the rest . However in your case , only two has been ruled out." I stop there for a second . "This kind of people we called them divergent."

He is still staring at me and I don't know why it shocked him

"If you choose the knife , the result will show you are dauntless and if you choose the cheese , the result will show you are amity. Your knowledge about the dog show the strong alignment with the erudite . But." I shake my head

"You don't know what are my result!" He is surprised

"Yes and no, you have show the equal aptitude for abnegation, dauntless and erudite and John under no circumstances should you ever tell anyone about your result okay!" I put my hand on his shoulder . "Divergent is extremely careful John."

John doesn't nod or shake his head at me
