Isaac slammed the door shut behind them. Quickly, Mitch and Jayden dragged two of the tables over to it. The round tables wouldn't do much but together they'd jam the door, at least for a little. Outside they could hear the haunted machines marching towards them. By the sound of the distorted noises, the whole gang was closing in. Both the teens warily stepped back as the sounds grew nearer. They weren't given much time to worry about the impending danger, a commotion from the nearer office snatched their attention. It was the sound of a hectic scuffle.
"Leroy, Harriette!" Mike yelled. He was already charging in.
"Idiot, he's got a busted hand." Isaac growled. Though, he'd have done the same.
"Isaac, here!" Jayden passed the guard actor the pipe he had. "Think you'll need this more."
The comforting weight of the metal in hand, Isaac nodded before he headed in after Mike. This left the two teens in the lounge, looking at each other. A bang from the door, it shook and so did the tables.
"Uh, what do we do?" Jayden's voice quavered. He already wished he'd kept his meager weapon.
"Get more stuff." Mitch said, snatching up a chair, "With their size, only one of them can bang against the door." He wedged the chair under the door handle. "We need to stall them long as possible. So, they can deal with the killer."
"Right." Jayden muttered. He and Mitch took turns grabbing whatever they could get their hands on. Together they stacked more tables on top of the other two, using more chairs to steady their barrier against the force banging on the other side of the door. The shaking of the barrier kept them from feeling any sort of security in their structure. It shook similarly to their own fear. But they had to keep stacking. Any few seconds this bought were precious. They couldn't hold off the animatronic horde personally. A cobbled together barrier would have to do.
"Get away from them!" Mike yelled. He tackled into the body wielding the axe without second thought. The action sent them tumbling to the floor. Mike grabbed at the arm holding the weapon, he was puzzled by the sight of a plastic Spring Bonnie mask meeting his gaze. "What?"
Pain bloomed on the side of Mike's face. He'd been struck away. A gasp flung from his lungs, invertedly he'd attempted to catch himself with his wounded hand.
"Look who's back." Huffed the masked attacker. "Really do wanna die, don'tcha?" He punted Mike in his side and scoffed as he recoiled away. Movement in the doorway caused the masked killer to draw back, wincing at strike on the shoulder. It stilled in recognition. A growl came from behind the mask, "You."
"It is you." Isaac growled back. "Just couldn't do everyone a favor and burn?"
"Show must go on." The ax flipped over in hand; the pick flung out nailing Isaac in the side. "They built this place back up. So, I'll keep giving them the show they beg for." He looked from the two men to the Leroy and Harriette, who stood by the far wall. Harriette clutching a bloody arm. Leroy shuddered fearfully by her, sporting a jacket cut up along the back. Hearing the commotion out in the lounge he snorted, "More?" He laughed, then sighed, "Nobody can ever stay away."
"Because you aren't able to kill anyone that isn't a child." Isaac spat. The killer's posture went ridged, his insult hitting the mark. Slowly its head turned to him. He sneered, continuing to goad it on. "Come on coward, fight someone who can hit back for once."
Its attention dawn away from them, Harriette sought to take the opening Isaac provided. Slowly, she crouched down. Leroy grabbed at her shoulder, trying to keep her still but she held her hand up. The motion stalled him. She grabbed a sharp piece of wood that'd broken from the smashed desk. It was no bigger than a pencil, but it'd have to do. Little more than eager, she charged, stabbing the wooden shard into the one she'd built up hatred for so long.
"Bitch!" It seethed swinging the ax at her. It was unguided and she managed to dive out of the way.
"Eyes on me!" Isaac yelled, knocking the metal pipe against the back of its head. The body buckled, a grunt of pain tumbling out. He continued to strike along the back and shoulders, keeping its attention. Enough to give Harriette time to tackle from the side, knocking it off balance. Isaac dropped the pipe and lunged to help her. With her injured arm, she couldn't effectively keep it in place. He latched his hands onto the arm wielding the fire axe, wrenching it back.
"Get Mike out of the way!" Isaac yelled at Leroy. Despite the two of them, it was still putting up more of a fight than it should be able to. It wasn't the robotic strength he recalled of it's entombed variation, but it brought thoughts of it.
"Ah. Okay!" Leroy stammered. So much had happened in a short amount of time. Moments ago, he'd thought he and Harriette were going to get butchered. Not about to let a blessing pass by, he stumbled into action, looping his arms under his shoulders and dragging him back. He rested the veteran guard against the wall. He knelt to him, "You, okay?"
Mike gave him a look. He wanted to say something negative but thought better than doing so. With a grunt he adjusted himself, "Still breathing." He looked at Harriette and Isaac, still wrestling with the ax wielding thing. With a wince, Mike added, "Go help them."
Leroy nodded. He darted his green eyes around and landed them on the pipe, but recalled this was Gregor's body. Not it's.
"Guys! Move!"
Harriette and Isaac were only given a moment's time to react when Leroy came barreling in, knocking it down to the ground with a rough thud. Putting all his six foot two inches of weight down onto it, Leroy kept the attacker pinned. Harriette and Isaac stood nearby, stunned. Panting, shaken by his own action, Leroy uttered, "Get the ax, please."
Isaac snapped from his stupor. He marched over and ripped the fire ax from its hand as it struggled and failed to throw the larger man off its back. Isaac nodded, "Good job."
With a wry grin, Leroy nodded back, keeping his focus on keeping the possessed body in place.
"Alright, let's get'em tied up." Isaac stated as he leaned the fire ax on the side of the ruined desk, and out of its reach. He uncorded some length of electrical cording from around his shoulders.
"We can help with that." The adults looked to the office doorway, there Mitch and Jayden stood, panting and still damp. Mitch gestured towards where the banging was still coming from. "We...we got the door blocked off. Threw just about whatever wasn't nailed down in front of the door." He swallowed a gulp of air, "But, we should probably think about our next move after that."
"Yeah, they've already cracked the door." Jayden added uneasily, his eyes still looking back where the barrier was.
"Crap." Isaac growled. He turned his attention back to their immediate problem at hand, "Hold the freak's legs in place."
The two teens immediately flocked over to where he was, one each taking hold of a leg. Isaac began to tie the firm cord tightly around his ankles. As he did so he instructed, "Someone needs to pop Mike's fingers in place."
"On it." Harriette said. She went over to Mike and looked at his hand. Mike didn't protest as she gently held it, though he did hiss and wince. Harriette uttered a soft apology, but he didn't respond. "You sure it's okay to do this?" She asked back to Isaac.
"Should be. I got mine dislocated like that. But it doesn't really matter, now, we can't have him like that." Isaac responded brusquely as he set the knot, tugging it to make sure it wouldn't be able to free itself. He gestured to the arms, "Leroy take one. You two take the other. Bring the arms to the midback."
Harriette looked towards the man. She didn't like the tone he'd used. Like Mike would be in the way. Much as it was true, injury like this would put him at risk but he could've bared to use a better tone. She shook her head, sighing, "Okay. Brace yourself."
Once he was ready, Harriette swiftly yanked his fingers. Sharp simultaneous pops cracked through the air. Everyone, save Isaac; who focused on his task, winced in sympathy. Mike recoiled, foot stomping the floor, eyes squeezed shut as he caged a pained cry behind gritted teeth.
"You, okay?" Harriette hesitantly asked. She felt almost like she'd actively harmed him.
His face still pale and contorted with pain, Mike forced himself to nod.
"Okay, can you move your fingers?"
The other hand cradling the injured hand like an infant, Mike urged his two fingers to respond to his input. They were swollen and likely beat red, but they slowly curled inward. Swallowing a lump of pain, Mike nodded, gasping out, "Y, yeah."
"Good." Harriette responded. She rubbed her hand on his uninjured shoulder, trying to reassure him. Though she wasn't sure what good that'd be due in their situation, she felt like she had to do something.
"There. Get off him Leroy."
"You...sure that'll hold?"
The question from Jayden caused both Mike and Harriette to look back to the others. Isaac, Mitch, Jayden, and Leroy stood around the prone and bound body. It still writhed, trying to break free, but thankfully the binds held fast.
"He won't get free." Isaac answered with surety. When the form laid still, seemingly giving up, he looked at him with open disdain. Reaching down, Isaac ripped the Spring Bonnie mask off its face and tossed it aside. "Don't need this anymore, bastard."
It only lay there, breathing.
Isaac didn't like the lack of response but didn't press it further. The sound of a bang and crack of wood sounded from the lounge. Expression still angry he kept his attention on it as he asked, "Is there an exit connected to the lounge?"
"No, the only exit nearby is the one in the kitchen. Where food from the trucks is meant to be brought through." Replied Leroy, hands wringing anxiously together.
"Place really is a death trap." Isaac uttered bitterly.
Before anyone could question what, they were supposed to do now or panic, Mike managed to speak through his pain, "Check him for some sort of remote." When everyone looked at him, he explained, "Gregor, though I'm sure it was him on the phone now, told me that the mechanic made a remote to lock the animatronic's joints, remotely. I've seen it work. It wasn't left in the control room. So, he must have it. In case his victims got too close for comfort."
After a little bit of frisking, Isaac pulled a remote from its back pocket. It was a simple-looking device and with only one on and off switch, left little need to ask what to do. He held it up to Mike, saying, "Found it."
"Good." Mike grunted, trying to ignore the pain radiating from his hand, "Now we wait."
"Wait?" Mitch questioned incredulously. "The animatronics are going to break through the door any minute now. After that they just gotta toss the junk out of the way!"
Mike nodded, "Yeah. That's the train of thought. If we activate it now, then we'll have a wall of robots, each weighing a ton, blocking the way. We'd still be stuck." Point made, everyone looked at him as he pulled himself up to his feet. Somehow the pain in his hand helped clear the panic from his head. Thoughts clear, he continued, "Here's the revised plan."
