Chapter 9: Coliseum of Surprises!
-Scene Skip; A Few Minutes Later; Honore Coliseum-
-Cue Battle Frontier from Pokémon Platinum OST-
I stood to the side, standing by Ranma as we watched a blonde haired woman walk out onto the field, wearing a business suit with a short blue skirt and red heels as she looked out into the large crowd. She had a serious look on her face as she folded her arms across her slightly large bust.
"Hello, one and all… To the weekly Honore Town Coliseum! We are glad you can all make it here… We have quite a turn out this week. About 30 contestants have made it to our sleepy town to participate for this week's Grand Prize. This time, we are offering this to our winner of this week!" She called as she held out a familiar looking Poké Ball with an M on top of the purple covering on top of the ball. A MASTER BALL IS THE GRAND PRIZE?! Oh, now I know why so many people are participating. Ranma looked at me and I blinked at her in shock.
"Yes, your eyes are not deceiving you! The Grand Prize is a Master Ball! Not many people have owned one in their life… It can catch anything without fail. Only the strongest of this Coliseum tournament can win this prize. The runner up can receive these items behind me." She stepped to the side to show a table full of different types of medicine, like Super Potions and Full Heals. To be honest, I would prefer runner up just to prioritize my Pokémon over one thing, even if it's a Master Ball. I would probably get one farther down the line. But, that's my opinion… And, it's probably wrong.
"Now, we have already set up the battles in advance… But, to our newcomers, we will explain the rules. Each battle will be a 3v3 Single Battle and Sleep Clause will be in effect during the battle. For those who don't know what Sleep Clause is… Sleep Clause is only one Pokémon can be asleep on one team and you are not allowed to put another Pokémon to sleep until the one who is already asleep wakes up. Both sides are unable to switch Pokémon, so plan your teams accordingly. That is the rules… Now, let this Coliseum… BEGIN! The first match shall be… Bradley Rose from Orre vs. Weiss Schnee from Alola!" Weiss?! Weiss is here?! Damn it, I should've checked and see if anyone I know so far is here. Weiss came up behind me and stopped as she looked at me while I turned around to see her.
"You're participating, too? Interesting…" Weiss said as she raised an eyebrow. I rubbed the back of my head as she passed by me.
"I will see you in the semifinals, then. I want my rematch with you."
"You might wanna have it when this is all over. Bradley isn't someone to take lightly," I said as I turned back to her, "Trust me, I know…" Weiss looked at me and I smiled at her. Bradley stepped out onto the field at the same time as Weiss did. Her Alolan Vulpix trots at her side and wagged her tail as Weiss steeled her look. Bradley has a sly smirk on his face as he faces Weiss while Sparx sat on his head, eyeing Weiss curiously.
"Schnee, huh? Are you related to Winter Schnee? She is one of my Elite 4 in the Indigo League," Bradley said and Weiss frowned at that, as if she were figuring something out. She widened her eyes and looked at him.
"You're the Interim Champion that beat my sister?!" Weiss said nervously. She glanced over at me and I nodded my head.
"Hey, that don't really mean much. I just leave it to Winter if I am not in the region at that point of time. I am just getting my research done since I will be a professor when I get older," Bradley told her and she looked at him in shock. There were murmurs around us and I scratched the back of my head.
"How do you know James, then?" Weiss asked him and he chuckled at that.
"He and I have traveled together in the past… But, an accident occurred in Saffron. It's a long story," Bradley said as he waved her off, "For now, let's get it started! I want you to give it your best shot!" Weiss had a bead of sweat trailing down her forehead as she looked down at her Vulpix. She hops up and down, as if she were giving her encouragement. Weiss sighed and nods her head, kneeling down to pet Vulpix on the head.
"Okay, Severa. I will not falter… Sis always told me to give it my best shot, no matter what," Weiss said and stood up with a serious look on her face and unclips a Fast Ball from her belt, "All right, then…. Nate, go!" She tossed out the Fast Ball and it let out… A Scyther?! Lucky, where did she get one so early?! In Sinnoh, Scyther can be caught north of Solaceon Town. I was planning on adding one to my team later down the line. Scyther clicked its blades together and got ready for battle. Bradley pulls out a Luxury Ball from the back of his belt and looked down at it. Sparx looked down at it and began speaking to Bradley in Pokémon language. Bradley looked up at Sparx and scratched Sparx on the head.
"It's fine… Legion can handle it," Bradley told him as he looked back down at the Luxury Ball. He looked back up and smirked as he tossed out the Luxury Ball without a word. Out pops… A Zoroark! Ah… Yeah, I remember giving him a Zoroark when he traveled through Unova. But, that Zoroark was a bit of a hothead and always got into it with Eragon. Let's hope she can calm down enough to listen to Bradley. Zoroark looked back at Bradley and smiled at him.
"Legion, do your best. Okay?" Bradley told the Zoroark and she nods her head while giggling. She turned back to Scyther and Scyther clinked his Claws together, preparing for battle. I smirked and clicked the side of my headphones, letting some Pokémon fan made music play from them.
-Cue Battle! Champion Lillie by Raushna (Metal Cover by Anjer)-
I admit, it is a bit over the top for the occasion… But, This is a Champion we are talking about. He said he wants Weiss to go all out… So, he is gonna take her seriously.
"You get the first move, Weiss… If you are as good as your sister, then this shouldn't be a problem."
"Trust me… I am nothing like my sister. Nate, Slash!" Weiss called as she clenched her fists. Scyther charged at Legion, who was waiting for her opponent to come at him. Legion smirked as she raised a hand to stop Scyther's incoming attack… And did so without flinching.
"Oh, boy… Here we go," Kitty said as she walked up beside me while holding BiBi in her arms. I sighed as I knew what she meant.
"Wha-" Weiss said in shock as she witnessed Legion straight stop her Scyther's attack, "How did…"
"Legion, behave," Bradley said and she pouts at him. He raised an eyebrow and she blushed while flipping Scyther onto the ground.
"Huh?!" Weiss said incredulously as she looked at Scyther, who got back up and flapped his wings to get above Legion. She got on all fours and waited.
"Ugh… This just got a lot tougher. All right… Air Cutter!" She called and Scyther unleashed a barrage of air blades at Legion.
"Counter with Shadow Claw," Bradley said seriously and Legion smirked deviously as she raised her left hand and her Claws darkened on her hand. She cuts the blades away with her Claw and smirked up at the surprised Bug Pokémon.
"Really? I am honestly expecting more, Schnee." Bradley folded his arms and Weiss blushed at him angrily.
"Oh, don't get angry. That will end in a Swift victory, and that will be… Not very fun for either one of us. Take a deep breath and look into that brain of yours… Formulate a plan to overcome this obstacle." He looked at her as she shook her head and took a deep breath. She knew he was right and had to take a different approach. She also knew she couldn't switch out her Pokémon, so she needed to think of something else. She smirked and looked over at the blonde woman.
"Excuse me, ma'am. Can I ask a question?" she asked her and the woman raised an eyebrow in intrigue. This is an interesting development.
"Are Moves that can force a switch or can make a manual switch allowed?" Ah… I see. Making the best out of what she has, smart girl.
"Yes. Moves like U-Turn and Dragon Tail are allowed in this Tournament," She said and Weiss looked back at the field ahead of her with a confidence about her that I recognized from the RWBY show.
"Nate, U-Turn!" She called and Scyther charged at Legion, tackling it to the ground and vanishing into the Poké Ball that Weiss held out in front of her. Bradley smirked as Legion got back up, shaking her head and looked back at him. She held out a Heavy Ball in front of her and tossed it out.
"I need your assistance, Vonta! Go!" Out of the Heavy Ball comes… A Rhyhorn?! Well, if she is gonna wall the hell out of Legion, she picked a good Pokémon.
" Rock Blast!" Rhyhorn shot off several stones at Legion. Legion hops out of the way and skids to a stop, smirking at Rhyhorn. Rhyhorn frowned at Legion and took a glance back at Weiss.
"We need to slow her down… Use Bulldoze!" Weiss called and Rhyhorn slammed her front legs down onto the ground after raising her upper body and bringing it down. The ground quaked and everyone struggled to stay upright. Legion trips and falls on one knee as Bradley stood perfectly still as his eyes turned blue.
"Legion, stay calm! Use Dark Pulse," Bradley called and Legion stayed in her position to fire off a large black ring beam at Rhyhorn from her hands.
"Vonta, deflect it with Flamethrower!" Weiss called and everyone looked on in shock as Rhyhorn shot a large scale Flamethrower at the black ring beam. It overpowered the ring beam and hits Legion head on, exploding on contact and kicking up dust and smoke. Everyone covered their eyes and mouth but me as I looked up into the air. The dust and smoke disappeared on the field and Legion was nowhere to be seen. Well, not on the ground… Legion took damage, no doubt… But, she used the momentum from the attack and jetted herself into the air above the smoke. No one noticed that Legion jumped into the air, not even Weiss. Bradley did, since his eyes had changed color. Legion has visible burns on her body and looked to be in some pain… That attack caught her and Bradley off guard, that's for damn sure. Not bad, Weiss.
"Legion, use Night Slash!" Bradley called as he looked up at her. Legion shook off her pain and coated her right arm in black energy before diving straight for Rhyhorn. Weiss looked up and got a serious look on her face. Wait, was she…
"Vonta, give it another second!" Weiss called and Rhyhorn stood at the ready, waiting for Legion to get close. Bradley raised an eyebrow and widened his eyebrows as he realized he walked into a trap. As Legion got closer, Weiss smirked and clenched her fists.
" Counter!" Weiss called and Rhyhorn tanked Legion's attack. She then Head-butts Legion full force into the ground. Legion laid on the ground, knocked out from the powerful blow. Unfortunately, Rhyhorn fell over and fainted. A double-KO! Nice! Bradley looked on in surprise at what happened and Weiss pumped her left fist at her side.
"Good work, Vonta. Take a rest." She returned her Rhyhorn and called back out her Scyther. Bradley scratched the back of his head and chuckled.
"Well, that's a relief…" Bradley said out of nowhere and Weiss looked at him in confusion.
"What do you mean?" Weiss asked and he smirked mischievously as he brought out a Poké Ball with an orange flame sticker on the top of the ball. That's his…
"I thought it would be a bit boring, I mean. But, I figured that if I pushed you to think more, you would surprise me. Well, looks like you aren't like your sister… You are slightly better. You still have a long way to go… Let me show you," Bradley called as he called back Legion and called out his shiny Black Charizard. It roared, shooting flames from its mouth and stomping the ground underneath it. There was a scar over it's left eye and it looked bigger than some of the Charizard I see in the games and anime. Weird… Weiss looked in shock at the size of the Charizard and had a slightly scared look on her face. She shook her head and took a deep breath. I could tell she was trying to overcome the fear she was feeling about fighting such a powerful opponent. This is the Pokémon that Legion usually picks fights with… Yeah, I will probably be facing it soon.
"Come on, Weiss! Focus! You got this!" a familiar voice said beside me and I looked and saw Ruby cheering for Weiss. She had a Murkrow sitting on top of her black and red hair and it was waving its wings side to side, as if it was cheering for Weiss. She looked at them and snapped out of her fearful state. She nods her head and looked back at the battle. I turned back to Ruby and smirked.
"Where did you come from, Red? You should've said something when you came up beside me," I told her and she looked up at me. She smirked and shrugged her shoulders.
"You were invested in the battle, I didn't wanna scare ya," Ruby said and I had to agree with her on that that. I looked back at the battle just as Scyther lands on the ground, covered in burns.
"Damn it… That Charizard is powerful," Weiss grunted as she shook her head. Scyther slowly got back up and smiled at Weiss.
"You can do it, Nate… I believe in you. X-Scissor!" Scyther got up and was surrounded in a forest green aura.
"That's Swarm! That means her Scyther is at about 30% health! All of Scyther's attacks will do 50% more damage!" Ranma said hopefully and I just stayed quiet. I knew from writing about it that Eragon was a motherfucking beast… And, This battle was as good as over. Then, my headphones changed BGM.

What the fuck?! Why that song?! Is some anime shit about to happen?!
" Thunder Punch," Bradley said calmly and Eragon punched Scyther into the ground, knocking it out in one blow. Wow, that's some serious power… Weiss looked on in surprise at the display of power and returned her Scyther. She then took out another Poké Ball and stared at it. She looked back at Bradley and nods her head.
"I will not give in… I want to prove that I am a good trainer! Blueno! It's all on you!" Weiss called and her Popplio came out, clapping his fins together happily.
"All right. This is it, Weiss. Do or die… Throw everything you have at me!" Bradley called and Weiss steeled her look as Blueno stared at Eragon as Eragon towered over him.
"Blueno, Bubblebeam!" Weiss called and her Popplio fired off a large beam of bubbles at Eragon's chest… And, they bounced off his chest. Blueno flinched at that and began to look scared.
"Well, I should've expected much… How long have you been a trainer, Weiss?" Bradley asked as he looked at her.
"Practically my whole life," Weiss said and he nods his head.
"I can tell you care deeply for your Pokémon… So, I'm gonna end this quickly. Flare Blitz," Bradley said calmly and Eragon roared, coating himself in red hot flames and charging full speed at Blueno.
"Blueno, Protect!" Weiss said frantically and Blueno puts up a huge blue bubble around himself and waited. Eragon crashed into the bubble and immediately pops it, damaging Blueno heavily and knocking it down to the ground. Eragon lands on the ground and flinched at the recoil. Blueno laid on the ground, heavily injured and was nearly unconscious.
"Blueno! Blueno, wake up!" Weiss called and Bradley sighed as he looked at the woman, who shook her head disapprovingly.
"Too much?" Bradley said and I groaned since I kinda did the same thing earlier. Man, Weiss has the most heart out of my rivals… But, the worst luck since she went up against 2 protagonists, incidentally.
"I will call this ma-" the woman called but was stopped when Blueno slowly got up and looked at Eragon with a half open left eye. Well, like Trainer like Pokémon… But, I would really give up at this point. It wouldn't be worth it if her Pokémon gets critically injured. Then, my Music changed again and I just stared at my headphones.

ARE YOU SERIOUS?! Looks like some anime shit Is about to go down! Blueno then started to glow brightly as he called out. Okay, yes… That's that anime shit.
"Blueno?!" Weiss called and Bradley smirked as he watched the scene go on. Blueno evolves into Brionne and called out as he claps his fins together. His burns disappeared, as well! Well, convenient… He lets out another loud cry and a loud sound wave sent Eragon flying back a few feet. He lands safety on the ground and smirked.
"Hyper Voice… Interesting. And, why did it look like it did super effective damage?" I said as I looked at Blueno. Then, I remembered something…
"Hey, Weiss! What is your Brionne's ability?" She glanced back at me and blinked.
"Liquid Voice. Why?" Weiss said and I laughed. She stared at me and raised her eyebrows in realization, knowing what I was getting at. Liquid Voice is a hidden ability that the Popplio line have… It turns ALL sound based Moves into Water Type moves. I guess, in the heat of the moment… She forgot about that.
"Blueno, Hyper Voice again!" Weiss called and Blueno unleashed a sound wave at Eragon again, making him shoot into the air.
"Well, you surprised me Weiss. I will give you credit… Honestly, I was hoping for a good battle and I got a semi good one. I hope we can fight again… But, time to end this. Blast Burn," Bradley said and Eragon dove down at Blueno and slammed his fist into Blueno's back, unleashing large sprouts of flames from the ground. When the flames disappeared, Blueno laid on the ground unconscious and had swirls in his eyes. Weiss rushed up to him and hugs him tightly. Blueno slowly opened his eyes and looked at Weiss, who pet him on the head.
"I am so proud of you, Blueno… You evolved for me. But we still lost…" Weiss said as Bradley came up to her and smiled at her.
"Yes, you lost… Because I held back. You lasted way longer than I expected… And, that's a good thing. I guess good training comes in the family, after all," Bradley told her as he held out his hand. She looked at it and took it.
"Weiss Schnee, you have a long ways to go… But, keep going down that path. You will reach for the stars." Weiss smiled small at him and bowed to him.
"Thank you for the battle, Bradley Rose. I will take you on when I get stronger," Weiss said as she stood up straight, "Battling you gave me a reality check… One that I needed." One that she needed? What does that mean?
"Aww, Weiss lost. At least it was close," Ruby said as she looked at me, "That guy is tough. Champions are no joke."
"Tried to tell her, though…" I said as I rubbed the back of my head, "Wonder what the next battle is gonna be?" Weiss came up to me and stopped as she stared at me.
"Your friend… Is a powerful trainer. Be careful if you face him," Weiss told me and walked past me, "We will battle again, too… Much later. Get a few more badges and we can be on equal ground."
"Agreed… Not gonna stay and watch?" I told her and she looked at me, "You might learn something new." She looked down at Blueno and I did as well.
"After you heal your Pokémon, of course." She nods her head and walked off with Ruby in tow, waving to me.
"With that exciting battle over, the next battle shall be between… James Scott-Naoko of Galar and Noire Vanderbilt of Johto!" the woman called and I nearly jaw-dropped at that. I was kidding… Noire's here, too?! I handed Erica to Ranma and walked out onto the field as a black haired girl tied in pigtails walked out on the other side.
"Let's have a good battle, miss," I told her and she folded her arms while staring at me.
"Yeah, I will… Just try to keep up," she said and I frowned at that. Ohh… Tell me this isn't Ultra Noire. Like Ultradimension Noire, the more bitchy one. Then, I looked at her outfit… And, it looked exactly the same as Ultradimension Noire's outfit. I sighed and pinched the bridge of my nose. Yeah, This is not gonna be fun. Alexis looked up at me and I shook my head as I clicked on my headphones, some Shady Cicada playing through them.
-Cue Showtime! By Shady Cicada-
I choose North's Net Ball and sent him out. He pops out of his Poké Ball and he shook himself off, blinking his jewel excitedly. Noire grabs a Poké Ball off of her belt and tossed it out to call out a… Roselia. Interesting choice, must be going for the obvious type advantage choice.
"All right! Noire will have the first go! Let the battle begin!" Histoire called and Noire smirked as she waved her hand in front of her.
"Let's start this off with a bang! Jane, Energy Ball!" Noire called and her Roselia fires off a green ball of energy from her left bud.
"North, Light Screen into Rapid Spin!" I called and North calls out a green screen in front of him and took the brunt of the attack before spinning around and dashing at Roselia, tackling it to the ground. Good thing for Light Screen because that would have done heavy damage on North. North stops a few feet away from Roselia as Roselia got back to her feet quickly. She stared at him and aimed her left rose petal at him.
" Magical Leaf!" Noire called and a cluster of multicolored leaves shot out of her petal at North.
"Deflect with Ice Beam!" I called and North fired off a cool blue beam at at the leaves, colliding with them and canceling Roselia's attack out.
"Now, Psybeam!" North shot off a purple wavy beam at Roselia, nailing the target and knocking it back to the ground, this time landing a critical hit and KO'ing it! Nice! Noire just blinked in shock at what just happened.
"Nice crit, North!" I praised North and he hovered in the air while spinning his body in a circle, blinking his gem light at me.
"Dumb luck," Noire said as she called back Roselia, "Still, I am sorry Jane. If I had known that would happen, I would have been prepared. Now, we get serious. Zeus, let's go!" Noire tossed out an Ultra Ball and out pops… An Electabuzz?! Yeah, that poses a problem. Half my team are still not past the 1st stage of evolution and she pops out an early game threat. Not even Paul has one yet!
"North, be careful! This is a tough one to beat! Do your best!" I told North and he blinked at me in response, as if he understood. As long as this Electabuzz has special moves, we should-
" Thunder Punch!" Noire called and I flinched at that. Electabuzz charged electricity into his right fist and charged at North.
" Protect, now!" I called and he summoned a green wall in front of him, blocking Electabuzz's attack. However, the force of the attack knocked North back and still inflicted damage to him. He shook himself off and shook in anticipation, waiting for the next attack.
"Well, I was hoping to catch you off guard with that. Looks like you are prepared for things like this," Noire said with a smirk on her face.
"Contingency plans, am I right?" I said in a snarky tone as I rolled my eyes, "To be honest, I was hoping you would try to counter my choices. And, no joke… You got me sweating here. I didn't think you would have an Electabuzz." Noire puts her hands on her hips while smirking at me.
"However…" I continued as I stood up straight, "Don't think I am just gonna take that lying down! Scald!" North shot scalding hot water from the top of his head at Electabuzz.
"Hit back with Thunderbolt!" Noire called and her Electabuzz slammed his hands together in front of him and electricity shot off his body and raced at North, which connected with North and KO'ed it, scoring a critical hit! Oh, come on! Well, at least I got some damage on her Electabuzz… Wait. Suddenly, Electabuzz yelled in pain as it burst into flames! Ha! A burn!
"WHAT?! Okay, that is dumb luck!" Noire said in shock and I flinched at that as I returned North.
"How, Sway?!" I asked in annoyance and she raised an eyebrow at that, "Never mind. Okay, calm down… Since she has this giant threat… Okay, the best choice I have right now is… This is your first battle, so do your best! Rapier!" I tossed out another Net Ball and my Beedrill pops out and jabs the air in front of him.
"A Beedrill? Why go for a Bug Type that isn't that impressive?" Noire asked me and I frowned at that.
"Hey! All Pokémon have their strengths!" Amanda called to Noire and Noire rolled her eyes.
"Yeah. Like that mentality will win every battle… Power is everything," Noire said and Bradley raised an eyebrow at that. Yeah, This is that Noire… The Ultra Noire. That just confirmed it… She is a bit of a hardass.
"Yeah? Let me show you how wrong you are… Twinneedle!" I called and Rapier jetted forward in a burst of speed, raising its arms up in a fencing position to ready himself for jabbing.
" Thunder Punch!" Noire called and her Electabuzz punched his fists together and raced at Rapier. The 2 Pokémon clashed attacks with each other multiple times and didn't show signs of slowing down, each attack growing more aggressive with succession.
"Rapier, switch up attacks! Aerial Ace!" I called and he flew up after rushing at Electabuzz for another attack.
"Don't let it get any room to breathe! Thunderbolt!" Noire called and Electabuzz shot a huge lightning bolt at Rapier as he raced at Electabuzz while surrounded in small gusts of wind.
"Now, crescent turn in midair!" I called and Noire looked in shock as Rapier flew in a crescent shape above Electabuzz and hovered behind him, charging at him and crashing into him full force.
"Continue on with multi Poison Jab!" I called and Rapier jabs Electabuzz multiple times, each jab injecting Poison into its opponent.
"Finish with Night Slash!" Rapier slashed Electabuzz across the back, knocking him into the ground. It attacked so fast, Electabuzz couldn't keep up with him. It ended up getting knocked out by that combo. Noire's eye began twitching in annoyance as she returned Electabuzz.
"You have to be joking! How is this happening?!" Noire called in shock. Rapier hovered over to me and I pat him on the head. He buzzed in appreciation as he looked at me.
"You were hoping for a better outcome, like sweeping me with either your Roselia or Electabuzz?" I asked her and she frowned at me while blushing, "You were, weren't you? Wow, glad I am blowing you away with my unorthodox methods. And, to tell you the truth… This is Rapier's first battle." She got a fierce eye twitch as she heard that.
"No freaking way!" Noire said in anger as she pulled out her last Poké Ball, "Okay. Now, I am mad! Suno, kick their ass!" She tossed out the Poké Ball and out pops… A Glaceon?! Huh?!
"Where did you get that from?!" I asked in confusion as Rapier went back out to battle, "Doesn't matter… Need to stay on my toes. Rapier, stay sharp okay?" He looked back at me and nods his head.
" Ice Beam!" Noire called and Glaceon shot a large blue beam at Rapier. He looked forward and flew above to dodge the beam. I ducked as well to dodge the beam.
"Watch the frost, woman! You nearly nailed me with that!" I growled ad I stood up and glared at her, "Rapier, we need to stick to defensive for now!" He buzzed around in the air, trying to get a read on his opponent.
" Earth Power!" Noire called and my jaw dropped. Yeah, I should've expected something along those lines. Suddenly, lava sprouts up from the ground and nails Rapier on the torso, knocking him to the ground and kicking up dust. He laid there for a few seconds before slowly getting up and hovering to the air.
" Roost," I called and he lands on the ground, taking a breather and recovering some HP before flying up again and feeling a lot better.
"You have Roost on your Beedrill?! He isn't a Flying Type!" Noire said in annoyance as she stamped her foot on the ground.
"Look it up, princess," I said casually, "Time to take a page out of Weiss's book… U-Turn!" Rapier raced at Glaceon and Glaceon braced for impact.
"Fine, wanna play that way?! Counter!" Noire called and I flinched at that. I mean, Mirror Coat is a move Glaceon gets naturally… But, Counter? Probably something Eevee can get that I missed. Yeah, This is gonna hurt… As soon as Rapier smacked Glaceon, Glaceon slammed her tail down on Rapier's head, knocking it out! Aww!
"Well, shit…" I said as I blinked at the predicament I am in. It all comes down to my last Pokémon… And, I am glad I made this choice. But, will it be enough? I returned Rapier and pulled out a Great Ball.
"Force, time to change the tides!" I called as I threw the Great Ball out into the air and out pops my Beldum.
"You have a Beldum?! Come on!" Noire complained as she looked at my Pseudo Legendary as he happily rushed at me and Headbutt me in the stomach, knocking the wind out of me.
"Yeah, nice to see you too Force. It's time to battle now. I will play with you later…" I grunted as I rubbed my stomach. He blips at me and nods his head at me, rushing to the battlefield. He stared at Glaceon and blinked happily at her. She blinked at him and got a serious look on her face.
"Okay, Force… This is gonna be a close one! Let's start with Zen Headbutt!" I called and he charged at Glaceon full force.
"Stop it with Ice Shard!" Noire called and Glaceon shot multiple shards of frost at Force. It hits him in the face and he shrugs them off while still charging at Glaceon. She rolls out of the way and Force stops to turn around and bash into Glaceon in the back. She rolls to a stop and got back on all fours.
"Now, use Iron Head!" I called and Force charged at Glaceon again, this time coating his body in a silver coat.
"Suno, Counter!" Noire called and I smirked at that, "What's so funny?!"
"Remember when I said power isn't everything?" I said as Force got close to Glaceon.
"Yes. Why?" Noire asked smugly, thinking that she had won.
"Well, if you think that way… You tend to forget about a few specific things. Like, for example… How much damage your Glaceon has taken and how much my Beldum had taken. Sure, he isn't a tanky Pokémon… But, he hasn't taken any damage. And, Iron Head is super effective on Ice types… So…" I explained and she gasped in horror.
"No!" Noire said in shock as Glaceon was knocked down to the ground while slamming her tail onto Force's body. He shuddered in pain but was still conscious while Glaceon fell unconscious.
"When you get tunnel visioned, you tend to lose sight of the important things. Sorry, Noire… But, I win," I said and she just stared at the battlefield at her Glaceon, who was laying there. Force slowly hovered to me and I pet him on his head while giving him a Sitrus Berry.
"And, the winner of this battle is James from Galar!" Histoire called and my friends came over to me to congratulate me as I watch Noire walk over to her Glaceon and pet her on the back. Glaceon looked up at her and licked her hand slowly.
"I'm sorry, Suno… I got too into the battle and didn't process the danger you were in. I promise, I will get better," Noire said sadly and I walked over to her and she looked up at me and sighed, "You are a lot better than me, I admit. You coming to gloat?" I held out my hand to help her to her feet.
"No. I was actually really nervous fighting you. You were a lot better than I thought, honestly. You are the 2nd strongest opponent I have faced on my journey so far, the 1st being that girl over there," I said as I motioned to Aqua, "And, she's an Auric."
"She's an Auric? I didn't think she would look like one… I mean, I could tell that Champion that battles before us was one," Noire said as she looked over at Bradley.
"You can tell? How?" I asked in shock and she nods her head, "How?"
"I'm a Psychic," she said and I blinked in surprise, "Well, not a very strong one… Since I can get a bit tunnel visioned, like you said. I don't have control over my emotions due to being a bit bipolar." Ugh, a bipolar Psychic… I can smell the irony from that statement.
"Well, you can only get stronger… And better. I recommend finding someone that is very experienced and learn under them. Unfortunately, I don't know anyone with that criteria. I am on my way to seek a master to learn under with my swordsmanship," I told Noire and she perked up at that.
"My father is in Floaroma Town, seeking students at the moment. I'd be careful, though… He is a strict teacher and he doesn't just take anyone under his wing," Noire said and I raised an eyebrow at that. Must be the same one that Polycursia told me about.
"What's his name?" I asked Noire and she smiled at me.
"Roronoa Zoro," Noire said and I nearly jump out of my skin in excitement at that. Learning from the pirate hunter Zoro is gonna be awesome! But, wait… Does that mean that Noire is named Noire Roronoa or Roronoa Noire?
"Then, your last name is…" I said.
"It's actually Roronoa Noire," she said and I nodded my head, "But, even though I have my father's blood running through me… I am not a natural fighter. Well, not one that uses brute force. I am more like my mother, Arfoire." I choked at that and coughed.
"Are you okay?!" Ranma asked me as she came up to me. I took a deep breath at that and nodded my head. Her mother is Arfoire?! Are you serious?!
"I'm fine. Just thought of something…" I said, "Hey, why don't you get your Pokémon healed and watch the rest of the tournament? We can talk later." Noire smiled and she picked up her Glaceon up in her arms.
"I will do that. Sorry for… Mocking you earlier. I just got tired of taking on weak opponents," Noire told me and I chuckled at her.
"It can get a bit boring after a while, I can relate," Bradley said as he came up beside me and nods his head at Noire. Then, all of a sudden… A huge wave if uneasiness hits me like a truck and I looked around at the crowd around us. Kitty was with Neptune and Vert and the rest of my group while Ranma… Was nowhere to be seen. Amanda was gone, as well… Where did they go?!
"Bradley, was Amanda and Ranma with you when you were watching my battle?" I asked him quickly, panic in my voice. He noticed the panic in my voice and looked around. Kitty saw us quickly looking around as Noire looked at us curiously.
"What is it?" Noire asked me curiously and I gritted my teeth as the uneasy feeling didn't go away.
"I got a real bad feeling…" I said to no one in particular as I looked at Force. He scanned the area and bopped into my leg after a few seconds. I looked down and saw him take off immediately.
"Force, hold on a second!" I called to him and ran after him.
"Sparx, follow behind James! I will be with you in a second," Bradley said as I was already several feet away from them. I heard the patter of his Pikachu's feet behind me as I ran after my Beldum. My bad feeling was getting worse the more I left the Coliseum grounds. What was going on?! Eventually, Force stopped and stared straight ahead at something, not moving. I stopped beside him and saw what he was leading me to. There was Ranma and Amanda… Along with dozens of strange men and women surrounding them wearing blood red clothing with symbols of PHK written on the front and back of their shirts and blouses. Shit, the PHK! I remember doing rough sketches of these costumes for them back in the day with a few friends of mine, so I do know these designs. One of them held a gun up to Ranma and pointed right at her chest. I gritted my teeth in anger as I held up my right hand and a red ball of Ki appeared in my hand.
" Blazing Impact! " I yelled in rage as my red Ki ball was shot at high speeds at the gun and it knocked the gun out of the grunt's hand. He yelled out in pain as he held his burned hand. The entirety of the group of criminals turned to me and looked in horror at me as I looked in pure rage at them. It's like I figured: I would feel nothing but animosity to PHK for what the have done to me and my friends. Now, they were gonna hurt my 2 girlfriends. Well, I share that same hostility towards them for trying to take my Amanda away from me again. I could feel the Ki bubbling up inside me and I was gonna let loose every ounce of rage that I had against these bastards for harming Me and my friends. Just then, something happened that made me stop immediately: Someone I haven't seen for a long time had shown their face to me.
"James? Is that… You?" a voice said as Emily had came out of the crowd and looked at me. It was EMILY… That means she DIED AS WELL. I was hoping she would be still alive in our world. But, why is she dressed in the PHK clothing? What the fuck is going on?!
"Em? But… How?" I said as I walked up to her and looked right at her. She looked a lot younger than I remember… But, it makes sense since I went through age reversion and so did Amanda. She looks about… My age.
"How do I know you aren't fucking with me?"
"Come on… Really, Brother?" Emily said softly as she grabbed my shoulder and gave me a crooked smile. Oh, my God.. It is Emily. Something I forgot to mention in the beginning of this story… Emily loves to call me Brother a lot. And, she has a crooked smile on her face whenever she calls me Brother. My anger was still there… But, most of it was confusion. I looked down and the one of the grunts came up behind her and stopped behind her.
"What the hell is this, Marine? You know that brat?" he asked her and she grabs him by his balls.
"You know better than to give me that backsass, Garrett. Zip it," Emily said in a dark tone as she glared back at him, "I don't care how much you wanna try and stick your dick in any girl you come across. I will break them like a Kit-Kat bar." She squeezed harder and he squealed in pain as I heard a straining sound come from his crotch. She looked back at me and smiled at me.
"You have so much to explain to me… I am STRUGGLING over here to not just kill everyone here," I told her seriously and she cleared her throat.
"I know about the history between my dad and Kitty," Emily said and I just threw my hands up into the air. Yeah, of course… This world tends to fuck with me every way possible.
"It's nice to see you again, James. Can I ask who these girls are? I honestly just am getting here, trying to catch up on reports," Emily said and I looked over at Amanda and Ranma, who had escaped from the other grunts and came over to hug my arms, "Look at you… Getting ladies left and right. Basic anime harem protagonist."
"Told you," Amanda said and I sighed, accepting my fate.
"This is Ranma Satome and Amanda Anderson, my girlfriends. Girls, This is Emily Miracle… A friend of mine," I told them, "From our world, Amanda." Amanda stretched her eyes as she realized what I meant.
"I'm basically his college friend who loves anime- Hold on a second. Ranma Satome? I know your father," Emily said and Ranma gasped in shock.
"What?! Is he okay?!" Ranma asked in a panic and I rubbed her arm, calming her down.
"For now, go back into town. I will handle this," Emily said, "Sorry we gave to cut this reunion short. Move it, maggot! Or will I have to get more aggressive?" Emily glared at Garrett as he whimpered while moving away from us.
"Rest of you fuck-ups! You were told to not engage in any activity and observe things here! Our mission was to control the region's electricity by going to the Valley Windworks! Now, you will blow our cover and get some powerful people involved! Get your asses back to base and report to Dabi and Toga immediately! I will deal with the observations!"
"Ma'am, yes ma'am!" They called and rushed off. They looked like cowards when Emily ordered them around. I stared at Emily as she looked back at me. She hugged me tightly and I just stood there, unsure what to do. This was Emily, someone who was the last person I saw alive in my previous life… Who was here now, which meant she also died in that car crash. And, to put the cherry on top of this cake… SHE IS THE DAUGHTER OF HOYT! How do I explain THAT to Kitty? Finally, I decided to hug her back and sigh with relief to see an old friend again.
"You look kinda cute without a beard, Jamie. Told you that you needed to shave every once in a while, baby face," Emily teased me in that way that made me blush.
"God, you have to say that every time Em?" I told her and she giggled, "So, you died in that car crash too?"
"Pretty much. I ended up in a week coma and died in my sleep… Next thing I knew, I was waking up in a castle bedroom and an extremely tall woman came up to me and called me Marine. I was like Who's Marine? My name is Emily… And, I saw that I went through age reversion and had landed in the world of Pokémon. And, to find out that I am the daughter of a wealthy family, the Hoyt family," Emily said and I screeched in shock at that. HOYT IS ROYALTY?! WHAT THE HELL?! I never made him royalty in the slightest… All he was supposed to be was an immoral Giovanni, a glorified mob boss.
"Uhh… Well, I have history with your… Dad. God, that sounds so wrong," I told her and she raised an eyebrow, "In fact, Kitty is my best friend. I have a lot to explain to you about that and so do you. Let's start from the beginning, shall we?" We walked back to Honore Town with me explaining the history Bradley, Kitty, and I have with Hoyt and she was… Annoyed, to put it lightly.
"Fucking A, Brother. I hate him now," Emily said as she folds her arms, "At least he is getting his ass reamed by the higher ups in the organization." Whoa, whoa… Higher ups?
"Wait, Hoyt isn't the big boss?" I asked her seriously as I stopped in front of her.
"Oh, no… He is actually an Admin. The boss is actually a man named Aultcray Melromarc," Emily said and I just fell out. Oh, COME ON! The shitty king from Shield Hero?!
"Melromarc?! The same Melromarc that has a sizeable inheritance in Hoenn?!" Amanda said in shock and Emily nods her head, "Oh, man."
"This is so much shit that is being dropped right now! How many Admins are in this organization?!" I asked her, "I have to know since I am on their shit list!"
"Oh… So, it is you that they are after you. I thought it was a coincidence," Emily told me and I nodded my head at her, "Well, there are 7 admins and they are based around the 7 deadly sins." Oh well that's cute…
"I guess Hoyt is Lust?" I said in a grossed out tone and she nods her head in disgust, "God, that fits him so well… I have to ask."
"No, he doesn't touch me in that way. Thank God he doesn't… You know me. I would cut his dick off immediately," Emily said and I chuckled at her bluntness, "So, question. It sounds like you know a bit about PHK. Care to elaborate?" Hoo, boy… Here we go. I tell her about my dark Pokémon story that I wrote back in the past. Matter of fact, I don't think Amanda knew about it. And, now she knows.
"God, James…I can assume that you were in that mindset due to Amanda passing away?" Emily said as she folded her arms and Amanda looked at me.
"Yeah. Now you know why I will freak out when I see Hoyt," I told them and Amanda looked down, as if she were thinking about something, "Uhh… Mandy?"
"James… I'm sorry," Amanda told me and I raised an eyebrow in confusion. She's apologizing? For what?
"Why are you…?" I asked her and she blushed at me.
"If I hadn't left you, you wouldn't have had to think up that dark story. Now I realized that this world is centered around that story and the continuation of the story," Amanda told me and I sighed at that. To be honest… I don't agree with that. Even if Amanda hadn't left me, I would have still thought of the scenario. So, it's not her fault… It's actually mine for making it. And, I have to see this through no matter what.
"Don't do that to yourself, Mandy. None of that or this is your fault, it's mine. But, I will make it right. Promise… I will do it the right way," I said with serious look on my face, "For now, my journey will continue. And, I need toy and Ranma at my sides, keeping me sane." Amanda looked up at me and hugged me tightly, putting my face in her breasts.
"Mmph! Mandy… Can't breathe…"
"Why do you have to be strong for the both of us? It feels so… Soothing," Amanda told me and lets me go. Sparx hops on my shoulder and poked my cheek.
"Yeah, I know. I will tell Bradley what happened here and keep him from taking action like he always does," I told Sparx and Sparx nods his head.
"For now, we head back and enjoy the rest of the Coliseum. Emily, hang back so you don't get targeted by the other trainers. Afterwards, I will meet back here with you and discuss where to find Mr. Satome, okay?"
"I got it. Don't worry," Emily said as she turned away from us and called out an Aerodactyl, "See ya later, Jamie… And, again. Nice to see you again." She hops on Aerodactyl and it flew away without another word. I sighed and rubbed my forehead, glad that went well without casualties.
"College buddy? Not friend with benefits?" Amanda teased as she came up beside me and poked my cheek. I sighed and rubbed my face.
"We didn't have that kind of relationship, Mandy… It was strictly just friends," I told her.
"Suuuuure it was," Amanda giggled and I groaned in annoyance. This is gonna be a pain in the ass… Wait, hold on. Did Emily say something about Toga? Oh, shit…

-And, that is the end of this chapter! Quite a bit to cover here… So, the Emily thing. Yeah, that was actually something I was mulling over for about a month. I stopped myself to try and think of an idea to implement Emily into the story without adding her into the group. I think this might be a good idea since this can help. She will be a reoccurring character in the roster and eventually defect from PHK as a rival to me. But, that will come later in the story. Also, her being the daughter of Hoyt… Actually, I was planning to have another character be the child of Hoyt. But, Emily will be a nice addition. Next, the battle between me and Noire? Yeah, I was gonna put Ryoubi here as my opponent… But, she will come in the semifinals. Next chapter will have Aqua's battle with another anime character that y'all will not believe that I have brought in. Next, Hoyt not being the main boss: That was planned from the start, too. I wanted someone else to be the big bad boss for PHK… And, who else better than Aultcray Melromarc? He is legit one of my most hated anime characters of all time behind Dartz from Yu-Gi-Oh and Shido from Highschool of the Dead. Also, Dabi and Toga will make appearances soon enough. Maybe during the River City arc or during the battle at Valley Windworks. Can't decide… Finally, the 3 girl and my OC lemon will happen before River City when the Coliseum is done, which will take 2 chapters. The next chapter is in the making, so be patient.
