Who?" I asked confused. "Daedalus,he was a great inventor and inventor of the labyrinth" Annabeth explained. Everyone turned to me. "He's not a god!" Someone shouted from the Ares cabin. "No shit Sherlock!" I shouted back. Annabeth looked at Chiron as though asking for an answer. "What does this mean?" Someone shouted from Athena. Chiron looked at me solemnly and said "it means that Louis' father is Daedalus". There was a massive uproar of noise from the campers and some laughter from the Aphrodite and Ares sides of the amphitheater. Chiron stomped his hoof again and finally the murmurs stopped as did the laughter. Finally someone spoke. "I thought Daedalus was dead?". "He is…" Annabeth started to say. "Then who claimed Louis?" Someone asked. "I don't know, all I know is that it was someone acting on Daedalus behalf" Annabeth said. I have had enough people looking at me like I didn't belong there so I got up to leave. "Where are you going Louis?" Chiron asked. "Back to the cabin, who knows maybe I'll pack up and go home seeing as how I'm not even a demigod," I said angrily. Chiron was saying something but I kept walking. I walked all the way back to the Hermes cabin and collapsed on my bed. I just lied there for what felt like hours but eventually I sat up from the bed and just stared at the wall. "Of course I had to be the one person who wasn't a demigod at a camp for demigods," I said. I then remembered that I had dropped all my stuff when I went to run after Theodore. "God damn it" I said tiredly. I just wanted to go to bed. Come on Louis get your stuff and then sleep I thought to myself. I got up from my bed and started walking around trying to find where I had left my stuff. I knew I had to hurry before curfew started as I thought being eaten by harpies would be a really bad way to end my day. As a last resort I took out my phone and used the flashlight to cast a light in the darkness. Eventually I stumbled across the spot where I had left my stuff. I grabbed my bag and started to head back. "You know phones aren't allowed here" a voice said through the darkness. I jumped and looked around trying to find the source of the noise. "Over here" the voice said again. I turned and saw Annabeth standing to my right. She at first looked happy and then angry. "You aren't serious about leaving are you?" She asked, looking angry. I looked at my bag and saw the misunderstanding. "No I'm…" I started to say. "You don't seriously think anyone cares about your dad do you? I mean not normal people Drew doesn't count" she asked questionably. I laughed which made her laugh. "No I'm not leaving, just left this here earlier " I said. "Your bag is open" Annabeth warned. I looked at my bag and saw that something was hanging out of my bag. I grabbed to see what it was and saw that it was a picture of my dad and me. It was a newspaper clipping I had taken out when I was about six of my dad opening a soup kitchen. "What's that?" Annabeth asked. "It's a picture of my dad," I said happily. "Your adoptive father?" Annabeth guessed. "Yeah" I said, handing her the clipping. She looked at it for a while and then she smiled. "Looks like a good man" she finally said. "Yeah he is" I said and then I started to laugh. "What?" Annabeth asked, looking confused. I stopped laughing and then replied "I had begged him to be the ribbon cutter to the ceremony and he said that he didn't want me cutting myself with the big scissors" I said. "I finally broke him down and he agreed I could but I had to do it with safety scissors and I agreed,on the day of the ceremony I brought my safety scissors and everyone was looking at me like I was stupid,my dad did his speech and then finally it was my time to shine" I said. Annabeth looked interested in my story so I kept going. "So I got my safety scissors and…I cut the ribbon with a couple cuts" I said. Annabeth looked confused and asked "how?". "Apparently my dad changed the ribbon to paper at the last moment and I didn't learn about it until I was twelve" I said. Annabeth smiled "seems like he's a nice man,why didn't you tell anyone about him?" Annabeth asked. I frowned and said "whenever I tell anyone that my dads a priest, a catholic priest to be exact they think I'm either lying or a religious nut job" I said. "I didn't really see a reason to discuss it," I said. "Well you won't have to worry about that here I hope you know that" Annabeth said. "I know that now," I said. Annabeth looked like she was thinking of something and then she said "you know…mortals are pretty cool". "You don't say" I said somewhat confused. "Like Rachel?" "Yeah she's awesome. I remember this one time that she hit Kronos in the eye with a hairbrush" she said matter of fact. "Hmm hmm wait what?" I realized what she said. Annabeth laughed and said "let's talk about it on the way to your cabin. I don't feel like being eaten today". So we walked to my cabin and on the way she told me the story of Rachel hitting Kronos with the hairbrush and another story about her dad saving her and her friends with a sopwith camel and at the end of it all I was much happier with being a mortal. We were at the Hermes cabin by now and I was about to walk inside when Annabeth grabbed my shoulder. "I knew your father," she said. I was confused and asked "you did? Like did you go on a vacation to New Orleans once or something?". "Not your adoptive father, I knew Daedalus," she said. I dropped my stuff. There was a stirring sound from one of the Hermes campers who quickly fell back asleep. Annabeth shushed me and then picked up my stuff and gave it back to me. She told me the entire story of Daedalus from him being a camp director in disguise to sacrificing his life for the camp. "So that's all I had to say your father was a hero and if not for him the camp would not be here" Annabeth said. I stood there in shock for a second and then I said "thank you for telling me". I then went inside the cabin "good night Annabeth" I said before closing the door. I went to my bed and then I sat down on it and rolled over on my side and after a couple minutes I fell asleep. That night I dreamed of being in a strange room in a cage. On one side was a massive window that looked like it was overlooking Niagara Falls and on the other side was a table with a laptop and an array of drawings. All around the place were different machines and metal wings adorned the walls and a massive door with that triangle symbol on it. The strangest part of everything was that I was about several feet shorter. That's when I realized that it wasn't a cage I was sitting in. It was a crib. I tried to climb out but to no avail heck I couldn't even stand up. I sat there for a while but then eventually the massive door opened and out stepped an old man but strong and clearly fit for his age. He had a sword and a red ball of woolen yarn in his right and left hands. He put the sword on a table and the string he carried to a lockbox where he placed the string in. He took a long sigh and then turned to look at me. He then walked over to me and picked me up from the crib. "Oh my boy, that was a decent adventure," he said laughing. He then gently placed me back in the crib and then he went to the laptop and started to work. At that moment and I'm not proud of this, I pooped my pants. I started crying hysterically and the old man took notice and rushed over to me and picked me up. "Oh did you make a stinky? Don't worry it'll all be better soon" he said. I woke up in cold sweats and I nearly fell out of my bed. I quickly looked to make sure I didn't actually poop my pants and thankfully that part was just in the dream. I got up and saw that all the other Hermes kids were gone except for Connor who was sitting up on his bed with a bag in his hand. "Oh hey Connor shouldn't you be like outside?" I asked. "Well the other Hermes kids asked me to stay behind to say goodbye to them and to give you a going away present," he said. "Oh well thanks" I replied. "Hey don't mention it…just so you know you'll always have a home here" he said patting me on the back. "I know it's not like you'll kick me out of camp" I said. "I meant that you'll always be welcome to stay in the Hermes cabin," he said. I was on the verge of tears but I managed to hold them in and said "thanks man thanks a lot". "Hey don't mention it!" Connor said smiling. "Oh yeah I almost forgot about the present" Connor said, taking out something out of the bag. "What is it?" I asked. "Open it!" Connor said excitedly. At that moment the camp alarm went off and I heard the sound of people yelling and running with the metal clang of swords. "Looks like we have some company," Connor said, grabbing his sword. "Gotcha" I said, grabbing my sword. "Take the present with you!" Connor yelled as he ran out the door. I grabbed the present and we both ran out of the door. We ran to follow the other campers to where the disturbance was and when we got there we were greeted with a massive metal dragon. On top of the dragon was Leo who was trying to stop some of the Apollo kids from shooting at the dragon. Eventually the archers laid down their bows but hesitatingly. "What is he doing?" Connor muttered. I smiled and said "I think he found us a ride". The dragon puffed out a flame and the other campers got their weapons ready. I stepped in front of the campers and turned to Leo who had just gotten off the dragon while putting my sword away. "Good job man!" I said, holding out my hand to high five Leo. He quickly high fived me and said "see he gets it!". "That thing is dangerous, get out of the way!" An Ares girl yelled. "Stand down!" Someone shouted. I turned and saw that the person who had shouted was Jason. On his side was Annabeth and Nyssa. Jason looked at the dragon and then shook his head in amazement. "Leo, what have you done?" He asked. "He got us a ride!" I said. Then I turned to Leo and asked "that is what you did right?". Leo smiled and replied "right on the money!".

"It has wings," Nyssa stammered. "Yeah!" Leo said. "I found them and reattached them."

"But it never had wings. Where did you find them?"

Leo hesitated, and I could see that he wasn't telling the entire truth.

"In ... the woods," he said. "Repaired his circuits, too, mostly, so no more problems with him going haywire." "Well sounds good to me!" I said. At that moment a stream of black oil fell out of the dragon's ear and onto Leo and I. "Just a few kinks to work out," Leo said. I wiped some of the oil off myself and said "you don't say". Leo shrugged. But how did you survive ... ?" Nyssa was still staring at the dragon in amazement. "I mean, the fire breath . . ."

"I'm quick," Leo said. "And lucky. Now, am I on this quest, or what?"

Jason scratched his head. "You named him Festus? You know that in Latin, 'festus' means 'happy'? You want us to ride off to save the world on Happy the Dragon?" I turned to Jason and said "well let's hope that our enemies don't speak Latin ha!" I said laughing. The dragon twitched and shuddered and flapped his wings. " Let's hope we don't encounter any enemies at all. I don't fancy meeting any enemies," Leo said laughing. "Now, urn, I'd really suggest we get going, guys. I already picked up some supplies in the urn, in the woods. And all

These people with weapons are making Festus nervous." Leo added. "Jason frowned. "But we haven't planned anything yet. We can't just ". Go," Annabeth said. She was the only one who didn't look nervous. Her expression was sad and nostalgic, like this reminded her of better times.

"Jason, you've only got three days until the solstice now, and you should never keep a nervous dragon waiting. This is certainly a good omen. Go!". Jason nodded. Then he smiled at Piper. "You ready, partner?" Piper looked at the dragon "You bet," she said. We all got onto the dragon with Leo at front at the reins and with Piper and Jason behind him side to side. I sat in the back while Leo taught us how to get buckled in so to speak. "Okay let's go!" Leo said excitedly. "Wait a second!" Connor yelled. I turned to look at him and saw that I had almost left my present behind. Connor walked up to the dragon and handed me my present. I took it and opened it and inside was a bag. "Oh um thanks" I said. "Hey, are we the type of guys to gift you a small bag?" Connor asked. I sat there for a moment and then said "yes". "Touché but this bag can fit anything in it!" Connor said excitedly. To experiment I tried putting my sword into the bag and even though the bag was about a half of the size of my sword it fit perfectly. "Wow, that's amazing, where'd you guys find this?" I asked. "That's not important," Connor said laughing. "Okay gotcha" I said, winking at him while laughing. "Hey, that's going to be useful!" Leo said. "Yeah, that's going to make luggage easier," Jason said. "Thanks Connor," I said. "Don't mention it now go and save the world or something" Connor said. "Alright then, is anyone else going to give us something special? No? Okay then" Leo said jokingly. Let me tell you something, there's no other way to travel but through a giant metal dragon. We were over Connecticut when I decided to rummage through the bag. I searched for a while and then found something with wires and pulled it up. When I finally had the chance to see it I saw that it was an mp3 player. I looked at the songs and saw that Theodore must've been the one to get the songs because it was all the ones I liked! I remember that day when we were talking at dinner about music and I kept rambling about Sabaton and other heavy metal bands. "Theodore when I get back I'm giving you a big kiss on the lips" I said happily. I put the mp3 player to the first song and put the wire in and drifted off to sleep to the sound of Primo Victoria.
