"No, I insist, Marinette," Adrien grinned holding out his hands. "No way, Agreste. The candy would be gone before I could say Boo." She clutched her her small bag of candy she was holding and started to walk down a set of stairs, then stopped. "What is it?" Adrien asked, at her ear. "Paris. Its looks simply beautiful at twilight."
The lights of Eiffel Tower were already on, the day a bit dark and gloomy with purple clouds on the horizon. Orange colored leaves blew off the trees next to the staircase, little ghost and pumpkin decorations bobbing in the wind. "Even though its a gray day," Marinette mused. "I always think Paris looks lovely. Hey!" She swatted Adrien's hand as he tried to sneak a chocolate out her bag. "Get your paw out of my bag, love! Here, how about we sit here on the steps and enjoy one together."
"Sorry, I'm hungry," Adrien smiled as they sat down. "Trick-or-treating really works up a appetite." "Uh-huh," Marinette rolled her eyes. "And what was your excuse this morning?" Adrien sighed, a bit mournfully. "Even with my powers, I cannot penetrate the fortress of the fridge."
Marinette snorted and burst into giggles. "You can be very naughty, but I love you very much," she told him. The wind blew some more leaves and she was glad to be wearing her pink scarf, it was cold.
"Here," Adrien held out his hand, placing her hand in his. Marinette sighed happily, resting her head against her boyfriend's shoulder. "I love you, Adrien." "Love you too, Bugaboo. But the real question is, if I swipe your candy between now and midnight, will you love me in the morning?"
The Dupain-Cheng's were throwing a party later that evening. Marinette paused from opening a Reese's. "You forget, I'm not going to be Ladybug at the party, but a witch. So, if you end up a pumpkin, don't blame me!"
"Okay, I'll try. But no promises!" He tapped her nose. "Here," she giggled. Adrien bit down on the chocolate and closed his eyes. The chocolate and peanut butter were even better then he remembered. Was it because of this sweet moment? "Chocolate may be sweet, but no one's sweeter then you."
"Adrien, look," Marinette smiled as one of the black cats that lived in the area was curled up sound asleep behind him. They were so caught up in their own private bubble that they had barely noticed.
"We might as well getting going. I'm in need of a snooze myself," Adrien said, his eyes twinkling. "No napping! We need you to help set up." "Yes, Princess."
Adrien helped her to her feet, just as a heart shaped lollipop fell out of her bag. "Oops, dropped one." "It may the night for tricks, treats and sweets, but the sweetest moment I'll remember is right here on these steps," Marinette said.
Giving Marinette a quick kiss, they started for home, with a bag of sweets.
