Cat Noir: Job well done, m'lady. We really make an amazing team. Catch you la—!
Ladybug: Wait! (pulls Cat Noir by the tail and prepares a romantic table for two.) Ta-da! Express snack service just for two. Such a successful mission calls for a celebration, right? (winks)
"SERIOUSLY?!" Marinette asked in exasperation towards her on-screen self with a facepalm while everyone else giggled in amusement.
Cat Noir: That's very sweet, but we don't have time right now. I'm going to transform back in a minute. (his ring starts to beep)
Ladybug: A minute can last an eternity when you're with the right person.
Cat Noir: Huh?
Ladybug: Let's at least kiss before we say goodbye! (kisses Cat Noir on both cheeks)
Cat Noir: (steps backward, causing Ladybug to fumble on her feet) What are you doing?
Ladybug: I always kiss four times. Come to think of it, actually, four is a little stingy. How about eight?
"OK, I never thought I'd say this, but that kind of thing coming from Ladybug is freaking me out," Adrien noted, cringing at Ladybug trying to kiss him on-screen along with everyone else who murmured in agreement.
"Pot calling the kettle black, kitty?" Marinette rhetorically retorted, thinking about all the times Cat Noir has flirted with her. After some deep thought, Adrien nodded in agreement with a warm smile.
Cat Noir: (steps away) I know what you're trying to do and it's not gonna work, m'lady. We're partners and friends.
Ladybug: Wait, what's up with you? You have a new girlfriend or something?
Cat Noir: (gasps and laughs) You're testing me! Could I tell you if I had a girlfriend? No, because the less we know about each other, the harder it is for Monarch to win. So, did I pass the test?
Ladybug: (dejected) With flying colors.
Cat Noir: Right, see you later! (vaults away) You almost got me!
"You really don't know when you're being crushed on, do you?" Alya asked Adrien, exasperated as well as everyone else at the situation on-screen. Adrien just responded with a shrug while also blushing in embarrassment.
Ladybug: (hides behind a wall, frustrated) Spots off. (de-transforms into Marinette. She then gives Tikki a macaroon.)
Scene: In an alleyway. Cat Noir is about to de-transform until fans swarm him, catching him off guard.
Cat Noir: Claws—
Parisian: Cat Noir! Can I get a selfie with you?
Cat Noir: (nervously) Y-Yeah, of course. (A fangirl takes a photo with Cat Noir, kissing him on his cheek.) I have to go now—
Parisian: Hey, guys! He's here! (More fans swarm in the alleyway and take pictures with him.)
Cat Noir: Sorry, gotta run! (flees)
Scene: On the rooftops. Cat Noir de-transforms into Adrien.
Adrien: Phew! That was close! (feeds Plagg with a piece of Camembert)
Plagg: Tell me about it. I almost starved to death! (Adrien spots Marinette's house from the rooftops.)
Adrien: I'm hungry, too.
"Hungry for croissants or hungry for Marinette?" Kim teasingly asked Adrien while wiggling his eyebrows in which Adrien blushed in embarrassment and everyone else laughed hard at the teasing.
Scene: Interior, the Dupain-Cheng's Residence, in Marinette's room. Marinette blabbers about Cat Noir to Alya.
Marinette: (groans) Why is he being so good lately? (mockingly) Mister "perfect-kitty", Mister "hanging-on-to-his-secret", Mister "number-one-partner"!
Alya: You're the one who asked Cat Noir to stop wooing you, giving you roses, telling you he loved you.
Marinette: But I was only turning him down because he was such a persistent nag!
Alya: And you were perfectly right to do so.
Marinette: But also because I didn't love him back!
Alya: Another very good reason.
Marinette: Wait a minute, what if this is the same thing? What if Cat Noir's declining all my invitations because… because he's… no longer in love with me?
Alya: You mean, you as Ladybug? You said it yourself a hundred times: Cat Noir and Ladybug just can't work. You'd end up blabbing your secret identities to each other, Monarch would find out and your Miraculous would go "bye-bye".
Marinette: Just because you couldn't keep your secret from Nino when you're both superheroes doesn't mean I can't do it with Cat Noir!
Alya: Hey! Who gave us both a Miraculous at the same time? And if you love a superhero, you're gonna want to know who's behind the mask. How else are you supposed to live a legit love story?
Marinette: Well, right now, I would take the mask, and I wouldn't care what's underneath!
Alya: You're lying to yourself anyway. You're in love with Adrien.
Marinette: (taken aback) I'm not lying to myself and I know exactly how I feel.
Alya: Right, which explains the pics of Adrien plastered all over your wall.
Marinette: (removes the photos of Adrien from her wall) Things never worked out with Adrien! Knitting beanies, planning his birthdays for the next 25 years...(throws all her photos of Adrien in a bin) "Kissy-kissy hamster"! Yeah, right, Adrien was more like "kissy-kissy nothing"! What's so wrong with "kissy-kissy meow-meow"?
"OK, I see the pattern: the higher your emotions fly, the more nonsense you spit out," Alya teasingly noted to her best friend who frowned and blushed in embarrassment while everyone else laughed hard in agreement.
Scene: Interior, Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. As Tom and Sabine are tending the counter, Adrien enters the bakery.
Adrien: Hello, I was wondering, uh... I was in the neighborhood and uh... (blushes and chuckles) I thought, uh… (chuckles) is Marinette here, please?
Sabine: One moment, Adrien. (whispers to Tom) What's going on with him? Why's he acting weird?
Tom: He's not acting weird, he's in love!
Sabine: With Marinette? That would be amazing!
Tom: Yes, it's wonderful! Plus, he quit modeling, they'd be able to take over the bakery together. I'll go and tell her!
Sabine: Let me take care of it. (opens her Alliance ring) Please, Alliance, call Marinette. (Marinette's phone rings and answers her phone right away in her room. She says to Marinette on call) Adrien's here!
Marinette: Who? Adrien? No, no, no, no. Tell him I'm busy.
Sabine: But— he's the boy you are—
Marinette: (on call) Friends with at school! And this isn't school, so tell him we can see each other at school! (Tom and Sabine turn to look at Adrien who is leaning against a counter with wandering eyes.)
"Yes, Marinette. You are not running away from Adrien nor your feelings for him," Kagami sarcastically remarked towards her blushing friend as everyone else murmured in agreement.
Scene: Interior, the Dupain-Cheng's Residence, in Marinette's bedroom. Alya is mad at Marinette.
Alya: What are you doing, Marinette!? It's Adrien! He's here and he wants to see you! So listen to your heart and go! (pushes Marinette)
Marinette: (furiously) You aren't listening to me, Alya! We're not talking about Adrien anymore! For once, we're not talking about Adrien, I'm talking about Cat Noir! (pulls up a picture of Cat Noir) Here, look, that's no "kissy-kissy hamster", that's muscle! Humor! Pointy ears and a bell! Why should I be the only girl who's not allowed to find him handsome? No, that's it! I'm Marinette, just a normal girl with a normal life, and if I think Cat Noir is handsome, that's my right! I know exactly how I feel! (her eye twitches)
Alya: Um, you wanna go outside and get some fresh air for a second? You look like you might need to cool down a little.
Marinette: (sighs shakily) Yeah... you're right. It's hot in here.
Scene: Interior, Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. A fan sees Adrien outside the bakery window.
Parisian: (upon entering the bakery) Hey, I know you! You're the Alliance guy! Could I take a picture with you? (takes a photo with Adrien) I've always wanted a selfie with my personal assistant! Awesome! My friends are gonna flip out when they see this! Please, Alliance, post this picture on all my social media accounts!
Adrien: No, please don't do— (The Parisian walks out happily from the bakery.)
Sabine: Um, Adrien? Actually, um, Marinette's not available. She's… busy, with Alya.
Adrien: Oh.
Tom: (holds a bag of chouquettes) But here's a bag of chouquettes, uh, on the house.
Scene: Exterior, Tom & Sabine Boulangerie Patisserie. Adrien walks home sadly, carrying a bag of chouquettes.
Plagg: (sniffs the pastries inside the paper bag) You've got the pastries but not the smile. You just wanted to see Marinette, didn't you?
Adrien: (sighs) Everything reminds me of her, Plagg. I can't help it. (sniffs on his chouquettes) It's gotta be nice enjoying pastries with the girl you love. (eats a chouquette)
Plagg: Yuck! (hides back in Adrien's jacket)
Wayhem: (from a distance) Hey, I told you so! It's Adrien! I recognized the place in the post! (Fans begin to swarm Adrien on the streets.)
Adrien: No, not again! (He escapes to hide behind a pillar.) Plagg, claws out! (transforms into Cat Noir)
"Doesn't matter whether I'm Adrien or Cat Noir, I can't get away from mobs of crazy fans!" Adrien noted in exasperation as everyone else murmured in agreement with light chuckling.
"Imagine once all of Paris finds out that your old man is Hawk Moth. There will probably still be a mob chasing you, but for the completely opposite reason they are chasing you now," Nino pointed out to his best friend. After some thought, Adrien looked down in sadness at that image while everybody else just gave small glares towards Nino.
Scene: On the rooftops. Cat Noir escapes his fans by vaulting atop the roofs and stares by Marinette's balcony while eating his chouquettes.
Cat Noir: (sighs) Marinette, how I wish I could see her. (Cat Noir becomes shocked as Marinette appears from the balcony's trapdoor. Marinette is seen fanning herself with her hand.)
Marinette: (blushing) I like Cat Noir. (lovesick) Cat Noir. Cat... Noir. Chat... Noir! Cat... Noir. (notices Cat Noir from a nearby rooftop) CAT NOIR!? (Marinette and Cat Noir look away from one another as soon as they know each other's presence is near and both pretend as if one is not there. She panics) What am I doing? This is crazy; I wanted to see him, now he's here and I'm running away from him. This is so ridiculous! (The two continue to act as if they still haven't seen each other. Marinette starts to whistle and finally acknowledges Cat Noir's presence. Marinette and Cat Noir begin greeting each other, lovesick.)
Cat Noir: Oh?
Marinette: H-Hey! (Cat Noir picks a rose and vaults on Marinette's balcony.)
"OH NO!" Everybody in the audience (including the two heroes) groaned in annoyance, having a good idea about what's about to happen between Marinette and Cat Noir on-screen.
Cat Noir: Good evening, Marinette.
Marinette: Oh, Cat Noir! I'm so mad— uh, so bad— I-I wanted so bad to— I mean, I'm so glad to see you!
Cat Noir: Well, yeah, I, uh, just happen to be in the neighborhood and I, uh, there you were! Crazy to see you here!
Marinette: Well, uhh, I do, uh... (chuckles) live here?
Cat Noir: Ah, right! I completely forgot about that. I mean, not completely, because the truth is… (hands the rose to Marinette) I actually think about you a lot.
Marinette: (takes the rose from Cat Noir and sniffs on it) You think about me… a lot? (tucks the rose behind her ear) Well, so do I.
Cat Noir: Really? You think about me?
Marinette: Yeah, all the time. I mean, sometimes, you know, like a fan.
Cat Noir: (twirls around Marinette) Oh, so you're... kind of a fan of mine?
Marinette: Not just kind of. I'm a huge fan, actually.
Cat Noir: "Huge fan", as in... (leans closer to Marinette's face) wanting to go on a ride with me under the stars?
Marinette: Totally... moonlit rides are awesome, (chuckles) like going to get some ice cream.
Cat Noir: It is... hot out tonight… (Their faces lean closer to each other.)
Marinette: Very hot, yeah. (As the distance between their faces gets much more closer, the tension gets to them and they step back from each other, flustered.) I can't go out for ice cream. I'm in my pajamas!
Cat Noir: Don't worry. it's gonna be okay. (pulls Marinette closer to him as he takes out his baton and extends it into the air, lifting themselves both up)
Cat Noir and Marinette: WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!
"You'd leave me in your room to go out with Cat Noir?!" Alya asked in exasperation towards Marinette who just chuckled nervously with a shrug and her face blushing.
"Well, what's worse is that she left Tikki too, so transforming into Ladybug if she has to won't be easy if Tikki doesn't know where she is," Angel pointed out in which everyone else murmured in agreement while Marinette (and Adrien) continued to blush in embarrassment.
Scene: Interior, the Dupain-Cheng's Residence, in Marinette's bedroom. Alya talks with Tikki while waiting for Marinette.
Alya: Why am I getting angry? Marinette is my BFF. If she wants to pursue Cat Noir, that's her choice. After all, I thought he was cute too at first. Maybe things would turn out awesome between them.
Tikki: In just a few minutes, it's already caused negative feelings between you two. Can you imagine what it could cause between them?
Alya: Come on, Tikki, it wouldn't be the end of the world.
Tikki: Actually, Alya, the end of the world is exactly the kind of thing that could result from problems between the holders of the Miraculous of Creation and Destruction.
Alya: (chuckles) Oh, you're overreacting. Come on, let's go tell her that we love her. (She goes up on the balcony only to find nobody.) Hm? Marinette? (to Tikki) Hold on, you're here which means she can't have transformed into Ladybug, then… where's Marinette?
Scene: Atop Paris. Cat Noir stands on his baton while carrying Marinette as they find André.
Cat Noir: I don't see him. He's gotta be here somewhere.
Marinette: I know how to find him. My friend Max has developed an app especially for locating him… (zooms in the map on her phone) and voilà! André the Ice Cream man is in the Île aux Cygnes! (Alya is seen calling Marinette's phone whilst Marinette declines the call without any hesitation.)
"I've finished developing the app for locating Andre at that point?" Max asked curiously in which Angel nodded in confirmation and everyone else murmured in excitement towards the upcoming app.
Cat Noir: Hold on tight, Marinette! (They land down together from the sky blissfully.)
Scene: The Dupain-Cheng's Residence, on Marinette's balcony. Alya goes up to find Marinette.
Alya: She's not picking up! Do you think she's angry?
"More like the total opposite," Alya deadpanned towards her on-screen self as everyone else chuckled in amusement.
Scene: Île aux Cygnes. Marinette and Cat Noir land safely on the ground. André is heard singing his trademark ice cream song.
André: My name is André! André! Glacé! The sweetheart matchmaker! With one scoop or two, I'll find love for you! (Marinette and Cat Noir dance their way to André's ice cream cart.) Marinette and Cat Noir! What are you two doing here?
"You two must really be in love if you two are acting that goofy in public with everyone watching," Alix pointed out as everyone else laughed hard in agreement while the two heroes blushed in embarrassment.
Cat Noir: We're here for ice cream, of course! Unless you're selling hotdogs now. (He and Marinette share a laugh together.)
André: Hahah! That's-a good one, Cat Noir! But I make sweethearts' ice cream, not "jokers' and good friends'"ice cream. Look, who do you see there next to Jean and Serge? (points at one of the photos posted on his cart) Ladybug and Cat Noir! Their flavor is one of my classics! Love is not something you joke about. You, Cat Noir, are in love with-a Ladybug, and you, Marinette, are supposed to be in love with Adrien Agreste.
Cat Noir and Marinette: Uh... no. (Marinette and Cat Noir look at each other for a brief moment.)
"AWKWARD!" The teens in the audience noted about the awkward mood on-screen between the two heroes.
Marinette: Forget it, André. We'll do without the ice cream. (André looks at the two, devastated.)
Scene: Île aux Cygnes, in front of the replica of the Statue of Liberty. Marinette and Cat Noir sit dejected, facing away from each other after learning who their hearts formerly longed for.
Cat Noir: You were in love with Adrien Agreste?
Marinette: Yes. But it just made me act in the worst ways. It was too much to bear. What about you? You're no longer in love with Ladybug?
"THIS is how I finally found out about Marinette's feelings for me as Adrien?!" Adrien asked in shock as well as the rest of the audience.
"Not exactly how you all pictured that situation, is it?" Angel teasingly asked in which everybody else loudly murmured in agreement, still in shock.
"Him finding that out from the ice-cream man? No!" Marinette answered, a little exasperated at the idea much to her boyfriend's amusement.
Cat Noir: No. It was too much to bear. It just made me act in the worst ways.
Marinette: (sighs) At least you still have your fans.
Cat Noir: Maybe they wouldn't be such big fans if they knew who was really behind the mask. (Marinette walks closer behind Cat Noir.)
Marinette: I'm… fine with the mask. I don't care what's underneath.
Cat Noir: So you're really a fan… ?
Marinette: A super… super fan.
Cat Noir: Fan… (leans closer to Marinette) as in…
Marinette: Fan as in… ready to do this. (kisses Cat Noir on his cheek)
Cat Noir: Oh… this?
Marinette: Yes, even this. (kisses Cat Noir on his nose)
Cat Noir: What about... this? (kisses Marinette on her cheek. After peppering each other with kisses, the two eventually share a heartfelt kiss on the lips. Cat Noir pushes Marinette away shortly after his realization.) Wait, what are we doing? This is too weird! We— I mean, I'm being a complete fool.
"NO. WAY!" Alya slowly exclaimed in open-mouthed shock towards Marinette and Cat Noir's kiss with everyone else (except for the two heroes who blushed) reacting the same way.
Marinette: No, no, you're not! You're great!
Cat Noir: No, I know who you are but you don't know who I really am, and I'm taking advantage of you being a fan by kissing you.
Marinette: No, you're not.
Cat Noir: I am, and it's wrong.
Marinette: (groans angrily) I AM SICK AND TIRED OF OTHER PEOPLE DECIDING WHAT'S GOOD FOR ME!
Cat Noir: I'm taking you home.
Marinette: (angrily) SICK! (removes the rose from behind her ear) I AM SICK OF IT! WHY CAN'T I BE HAPPY!? WHY CAN'T I LOVE WHOEVER I WANT TO LOVE!? (starts crying)
Cat Noir: You can. I can't. Not like this.
Scene: Monarch's lair. The lair's window opens.
"UH-OH!" Everyone in the audience exclaimed in panic that Monarch is about to akumatize Marinette on-screen.
Monarch: A tender-hearted fan rejected by her idol and wounded by her pride?! Now here's a date my megakuma wouldn't miss for the world! Kaalki, your power is now mine! (Kaalki's pod hovers towards Monarch's ring and absorbs her power. Monarch then creates a megakuma in his hands.) Voyage, my megakuma! (creates a portal for his megakuma, transporting it to where Marinette is — the Île aux Cygnes) Make this jilted lover dance the tango of broken romances!
Scene: Île aux Cygnes. The megakuma enters the rose Marinette is holding. Cat Noir becomes alarmed.
"NOOOO!" Everyone in the audience exclaimed in panic at seeing Marinette being close to being akumatized on-screen while Marinette is just silent while also panicked.
Cat Noir: Marinette, RESIST! YOU HAVE TO RESIST!
Monarch: (from his lair) Unmasker, I am Monarch. If you knew who was hiding behind the mask of your idol, he wouldn't have any reason to reject you, would he?
Marinette: That's true…
Cat Noir: PLEASE! RESIST! Don't listen to him!
Monarch: (from his lair) I'm giving you the power to see what's behind any mask! All I want in return is Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous! (Marinette is about to reach for her earrings as Cat Noir continues to stop her from doing so.)
Cat Noir: Marinette, KISS ME! (Marinette cuts off her connection with the megakuma upon hearing Cat Noir's voice and drops the rose. The two share a kiss again, and in the middle of the kiss, Cat Noir spots the megakuma coming out from the rose and attempts to chase after it, only to fail as the megakuma escapes to a portal.) I'm sorry, I shouldn't have kissed you again, but you weren't listening to me, I was just trying to help you! To save you! That wasn't a love kiss, it was... (groans) I'm just making it worse.
"No! You saved me, kitty cat!" Marinette quickly said as she gave Adrien a kiss on the cheek as she and everybody else sighed heavily in relief that Marinette didn't get akumatized on-screen.
Marinette: I was almost akumatized…? You were right! We're both being totally foolish.
Scene: Monarch's lair.
Monarch: It seems I underestimated the power of desire. But I can already feel another negative emotion, and it belongs to an old acquaintance.
Scene: Île aux Cygnes.
André: This can't be! Ladybug and Cat Noir should be in love! My magical flavors of ice cream are never wrong! (A portal opens up behind André and the megakuma appears, breaking his magical charm's protection and entering André's ice cream scooper.)
"OK, Andre is strangely obsessed with us being a couple," Adrien pointed out about Andre in which everyone else gave cringed faces in agreement towards the ice-cream man on-screen.
"Seems more like he's obsessed with the success rate of his magical ice-cream," Angel then suggested in which after some thought, everyone in the audience murmured in agreement.
Monarch: (from his lair) Glaciator, I am Monarch. Somebody dared to doubt the magic of your ice cream? Well, I am giving you back your supervillain powers, so you can prove to everyone that your ice cream is right! This time, in addition to your power, I will entrust you with the essence of the Miraculous of Elation. Roarr, your power is now mine! (Roarr's pod hovers towards Monarch's ring and absorbs her power. Transfer! (transmits the power of Elation through his Alliance ring and André's ice cream scooper) From now on, every scoop of your ice cream will have the same destructive power as the Tiger's Clout! One blow will be enough to put a superhero out of action! All I ask from you in return are…
Roarr now whimpered at the thought of her superpower being used for evil while Juleka tries to comfort her.
André: Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous! I know this tune! But first, since Marinette destroyed my faith in love and ice cream, I am going to turn her life into a melted mess! (André succumbs to the megakuma and transforms into Glaciator. People begin to run away upon his transformation. Alerted, Cat Noir brings Marinette to safety by hiding her inside a portalet.)
"Why are we always Marinette and Cat Noir when Glaciator attacks?" Marinette asked Adrien in which he gave a shrug in response.
Cat Noir: Come on! Stay here! Until Ladybug's captured Monarch's megakuma, it's too dangerous. I'll come back for you! (closes the door. Marinette brings out her phone to call Alya.)
Alya: Marinette?
Marinette: It's me! I'm sorry, you were right! Loving Cat Noir was a terrible idea!
Alya: Where are you?
Marinette: At the Île aux Cygnes. I need Tikki! Quick! (Tikki phases through Marinette's bedroom walls.)
Scene: The streets of Paris. Glaciator continues his rummage in the city. Cat Noir ambushes the villain from behind, almost slicing him in half but fails.
Glaciator: Get-a back in the garbage, you ugly fleabag! (The villain shoots explosive beams at Cat Noir and walks towards the bakery after disarming him.) Ladybug and Cat Noir are made for each other, and nobody has the right to come between them! You ruined the magic of my ice cream, Marinette! (Alya opens the window blinds inside Marinette's room upon hearing Glaciator wreaking havoc in the city.) Here's a double scoop for you, ruin and destruction! (Alya gasps and goes to the balcony. Cat Noir alerts Tom and Sabine back at the bakery.)
Cat Noir: You have to get out. Now! (They evacuate the house immediately as Glaciator shoots a beam at the bakery.)
Scene: Île aux Cygnes, inside the portalet. Tikki reunites with Marinette.
Marinette: Oh, Tikki, this is all my fault!
Tikki: I'm sure you're going to make everything alright, Marinette!
Scene: In the streets of Paris. Cat Noir hides Tom and Sabine behind a car.
Cat Noir: Stay hidden!
Scene: Île aux Cygnes, inside the portalet.
Marinette: Tikki, spots on! (transforms into Ladybug)
Scene: The streets of Paris. Cat Noir gets thrown into the rubble with Glaciator's explosive beams. Glaciator menacingly approaches Cat Noir.
Monarch: (from his lair) Do it, Glaciator! Take his Miraculous! (Glaciator attempts to grab Cat Noir's Miraculous with his ice-cream-covered hand, but it was too big for him to take it.)
Cat Noir: (chuckles feebly) Doesn't matter if you're enormous. No hands, no Miraculous.
"My father really has to think these things through when he's akumatizing people," Adrien said with a chuckle with everyone else following along in agreement.
Glaciator: That's what you think, you naughty kitty! (his real hand appear through his ice cream body and attempts to grab Cat Noir's Miraculous once again)
Alya: Hey! Who are you to decide for others whom they're allowed to love or not? If Marinette wants to have ice cream with Cat Noir, that's her prerogative! (Ladybug leaps into the scene.) And if you don't know what flavor to serve her, how about I'm-Free-To-Make-My-Own-Choices, with a touch of Mind-Your-Own-Beeswax, huh? (Alya gets blasted by one of Glaciator's explosive beams and tumbles down on the rubble.)
Ladybug: Alya! (Glaciator spots Ladybug on the rooftops and begins firing explosive beams at her as Ladybug swings away to safety.)
Glaciator: Ladybug! Cat Noir! Listen to me, starting with you Cat Noir! (Ladybug slides within the rubbles to reunite with Cat Noir.)
Ladybug: Cat Noir!
Glaciator: You must be in love with Ladybug, not Marinette! Maybe what actually keeps you from loving each other are your Miraculous! (As Glaciator continues his ultimatum, Ladybug gives Cat Noir a rub behind his neck, comforting him.) Without them, you would no longer be superheroes! You wouldn't have to defend Paris, you'd be free! Free to be happy and in love!
Ladybug: Are you really in love with Marinette?
Cat Noir: It's… complicated.
"We have no idea," Adrien deadpanned towards himself and Marinette in reaction to what he said on-screen with everyone else murmuring in agreement.
Ladybug: But it's clear you no longer have feelings for me.
Cat Noir: It's not quite sure, m'lady. Let's just say my feelings have changed, and I still love you, but just as a friend, if that's okay? (raises his fist)
Ladybug: (bumps her fist with Cat Noir) Friends.
Cat Noir: Friends.
Monarch: Not this way! They're hiding behind that building! (Glaciator walks toward the superheroes.)
[Superpower Sequence]
Ladybug: Lucky Charm! (activates her superpower and receives a parasol)
Cat Noir: Parasols and ice cream go nicely together! (Ladybug uses her Lucky Vision and spots Glaciator who is walking towards them, the fire behind Glaciator, Cat Noir, her parasol and her yo-yo.)
Ladybug: I know what to do, kitten. You're just gonna have to trust me.
Cat Noir: Always. (To Glaciator) Glaciator, you win! I'll give you my Miraculous— (pretends to pull his ring but is not able to as it is stuck on his finger. Ladybug prepares to capture Glaciator's megakuma from behind.) Oh well, would you look at that? My finger's stuck. Must've gotten bigger... from all the ice cream! (Cat Noir taunts Glaciator to grab his ring as he exposes it right in front of him. Ladybug throws the parasol towards Glaciator, piercing his body as he walks towards Cat Noir to take his ring. The parasol opens upon piercing Glaciator, blocking his sight.)
Glaciator: What's going on? I cannot see anything! (Ladybug and Cat Noir pull the wire attached to the parasol that is pierced through Glaciator and pulls the villain towards the fire, melting the ice cream.) Stop! What are you doing? (gets pulled on a car and falls down near the fire) You're melting my butt! You can't do that! (grunts) I'm melting! That's not fair! (Cat Noir throws his baton at Glaciator's ice cream scooper to break it and release the megakuma.)
Ladybug: No more evil doing for you, megakuma. (opens her yo-yo) Time to de-evilize! (captures the megakuma) Gotcha! (releases the purified megakuma) Bye-bye, little butterfly!
André: Ladybug! Cat Noir! Was I akumatized again? (Ladybug and Cat Noir nod.) I'm sorry. It's just that you make such a beautiful couple. But, oh well, what matters most is that you're happy. (Ladybug opens her yo-yo to retrieve a magical charm.)
Ladybug: Here's a magical charm, André. I don't know if it'll be enough to keep you from being akumatized again, but…
André: But it's worth a try! Thank you, Ladybug!
[Superpower Sequence]
Ladybug: Miraculous Ladybug! (throws the parasol in the air and reverts all the clutter caused by Glaciator)
Ladybug and Cat Noir: (fist bump) Pound it!
"Pound it!" The two heroes once again fist-bumped and kissed in victory.
Tom: Ladybug, Cat Noir, where is Marinette?
Alya: Don't worry, Marinette's fine! She got out of the building in time.
Cat Noir: Perfect. Well then... time for me to go?
Alya: Hey, Cat Noir, speaking of time, you got a minute for a Ladyblog interview? (winks at Ladybug, signaling her to leave quickly)
Ladybug: (signals an ok hand at Alya) Bug out! (leaps away)
Cat Noir: Alright, but we gotta make it quick, okay? (His Miraculous starts beeping.)
Scene: Monarch's lair.
Monarch: Dark wings, fall! (He detransforms into Gabriel. He grunts in pain, and sees his Cataclysmed arm getting worse.)
"OH!" Everyone in the audience exclaimed in shock at the sight of Mr. Agreste's Cataclysmed arm with most of them covering their mouths like they're gonna throw up.
"Yeah, it's definitely getting worse like it's supposed to," Plagg said as he shared a sad pitiful look towards his worried holder.
Gabriel: Ladybug, Cat Noir, the prospect of giving up your Miraculous to experience love left you cold! And yet, now I've discovered a burning secret: Cat Noir has feelings for Marinette Dupain-Cheng. I don't know to what extent, but they exist. And they're a weakness that I intend to exploit, and put an end to Ladybug!
"So, he's targeting me now? As Marinette?" Marinette nervously asked about Mr. Agreste on-screen in which everyone else became nervous as well (especially Adrien and her parents).
"Not so much targeting you as paying more special attention to you, thinking you'd somewhat help with the heroes' downfall. Even without knowing you're actually Ladybug," Angel clarified as everyone else nodded in understanding, though still shared nervous looks towards Marinette.
Scene: Île aux Cygnes, inside the portalet. Cat Noir rushes back to Marinette to check on her.
Cat Noir: Marinette, is everything okay? Sorry, I was held back.
Marinette: I'm alright, I wasn't scared. For you, or for myself. I knew we could count on Ladybug... and on you, of course. (The two share warm grins.)
Scene: Interior, the Dupain-Cheng's Residence, on Marinette's balcony. Cat Noir takes Marinette back home safely.
Cat Noir: I'm sorry about what happened, Marinette. You're right, you have the right to love anyone you want. Even a superhero. But it's easy for a person to mistake idolization of a superhero for love. So, even if I like this person very much, I could be taking advantage of the situation, and I just can't do that. It would be wrong.
Marinette: But if I want you to kiss me…
Cat Noir: That's your right, Marinette. And, besides, I get where you're coming from— I mean, if I were you, I'd be a fan of me, and I'd wanna kiss me all the time. (kisses himself as Marinette lets out a small laughter) But the me that's really me next to the me that's a fan of me, well, if he kisses you, that's— (groans) I'll never make myself understood!
Marinette: (laughs) I get it, don't worry. And I also get that you're a really good person. (The two share a sweet embrace.)
Cat Noir: Goodbye, Marinette. (vaults away)
Marinette: Bye. (after watching Cat Noir leave in silence, she breaks down crying again) Do you think someday I'll figure this love thing out? (Tikki nods, hugging Marinette.)
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Adrien's room. Adrien lays down on his bed and feeds Plagg with Camembert.
Plagg: (swallows his Camembert) Why the sad face, Adrien? All's well that ends well.
Adrien: I can't love Marinette as Cat Noir. And well, she doesn't love me as Adrien anymore.
Plagg: What you loved once, you're gonna love again! Look, for centuries, I neglected the baked cheeses I used to love, and now…
Adrien: You love them again! That means Marinette could fall for me again someday! Thank you, Plagg! You're the best!
Plagg: I know! (licks lips) Can I have some more?
"Like I said, you two are like a non-stop soap opera!" Alix exclaimed in exasperation towards the blushing two heroes with everyone else murmuring in agreement, half of them laughing while the other half groaning in annoyance.
"So, the next two episodes are a two-parter called Kwamis' Choice," Angel announced to her audience who gave looks of confusion. "The first episode is called Transmission which refers to the Butterfly Miraculous, though that is not the main point of the story."
"Well, what is the main point?" Marinette asked curiously as well as everybody else.
"The main point is that you two are becoming more depressed as being superheroes have negatively affected your love lives," Angel started explaining as she pointed to the two heroes. "So, that you two can finally live happily ever after, your kwamis decide to let you both go as holders and choose new ones for themselves," Angel further explained as she pointed to Tikki and Plagg.
"So, we're not Ladybug and Cat Noir anymore?" Marinette asked as she pointed to herself and Adrien with a shocked look on her face as well as everybody else.
"Yes. For this episode, there's a new Ladybug and Cat Noir," Angel confirmed as the audience still looked shocked.
"Well, who are they?" Adrien asked.
"I'll only tell one of them. Alya, you're coming back as Scarabella," Angel said to the bespectacled girl who gasped in shock. "Yeah, Tikki chooses you as her new holder. Wait till you see who your partner would be. Alright, let's play!" Angel finished as she played the first part of the two-parter.
