Flashback: During the battle with Glaciator in "Elation", Glaciator gives an ultimatum to Ladybug and Cat Noir.
"Like I said, Monarch has been using the Snake's power of Second Chance for the past few akuma battles without you two being aware. This is back when you two were fighting Glaciator," Angel pointed out as she also pointed to the two heroes who looked on with fascination along with everyone else.
Glaciator: You'd no longer be superheroes! You wouldn't have to defend Paris, you'd be free! Free to be happy and in love! (A sound of a huge firecracker-filled Lucky Charm bell is heard which is then dropped on Glaciator to trap him.) AHHH! I'm-a melting! I'm-a melting! It's not fair! (Ladybug retracts her yo-yo.)
"I thought my Lucky Charm that time was a parasol," Marinette said, confused as well as everybody else.
"It was. But each time Monarch rewinds time with Second Chance, you get different Lucky Charms and much to his annoyance, you always find a solution with each one," Angel answered as she and everybody else chuckled in amusement.
Ladybug: Guess he wasn't saved by the bell!
Cat Noir: Hope he'll warm up to it!
Monarch: (from his lair) Don't be so hard on Glaciator. He deserves a second chance! (As Monarch triggered Second Chance, time reverted back to when Glaciator was giving his ultimatum.)
Glaciator: You'd be free! Free to be happy and in love!
Monarch: (from his lair) Get away from that roof, Glaciator! And beware of what might fall from the sky!
"Of course Monarch had no way of knowing that the Lucky Charms would be different each time, so he kept warning Glaciator in advance of what happened the previous time. But that never works out," Angel said, once again chuckling along with her audience.
Glaciator: (looks above and sees nothing) What makes you say that?
Monarch: (from his lair) Let's just call it... an intuition. (From behind, Ladybug and Cat Noir are seen charging Glaciator with a ginormous shield plate with the help of Cat Noir's staff. They push Glaciator with it towards the fire.)
Glaciator: AHHH! I'm-a melting! I'm-a melting! It's not fair! (As Glaciator's ice cream shell continues to melt, Monarch once again uses the power of Second Chance.) You'd be free! Free to be happy and in love!
Monarch: (from his lair) Not this way! They're hiding behind that building! (Glaciator turns around, stomping his way towards where Monarch pointed him to. Cat Noir comes out from behind the rubble.)
Cat Noir: Glaciator, you win! I'll give you my Miraculous! (Glaciator continues his way towards Cat Noir. On the other side, Ladybug throws a huge parasol, impaling it into Glaciator and blocking his sight as it opens.)
Glaciator: What's going on? I cannot see anything! (Altogether, Ladybug and Cat Noir pull the wire attached to the parasol that is pierced through Glaciator and pulls the villain towards the fire, melting his ice cream shell.) Stop! What are you doing? (gets pulled on a car and falls down near the fire) You're melting my butt!
Monarch: (from his lair, furious) You're kidding! (grunts as his Cataclysmed arm strikes him in pain) No! Not now! You can't do that!
"Unfortunate side effect for him: the more he uses the power of Second Chance, the pain on his Cataclysmed arm gets worse," Angel pointed out as everyone else nodded in understanding with most of them (like Adrien) sharing looks of worry and concern.
Glaciator: (sobs) I'm-a melting! I'm-a melting! It's not fair! (Cat Noir throws his staff at Glaciator's ice cream scooper to break it and release the megakuma.)
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Nathalie's room. Gabriel rants to Nathalie about his failed attempts on taking Ladybug and Cat Noir's Miraculous with the power of Second Chance.
Gabriel: This power of Second Chance is of no use to me against Ladybug's magical luck! Every single time, her Lucky Charm attacks!
Nathalie: Deprive her of her yo-yo. Without her Lucky Charm, she won't stand a chance against you.
Gabriel: I've tried that before...
Flashback: In the episode "Derision", at the Jardin des Tuileries where Dark Humor has already affected most of the Parisians, including Cat Noir, who is seen skipping over the scattered tiny balls on the ground.
"And this is from the previous episode where you two were fighting Kim as Dark Humor," Angel pointed out the scene to her audience.
Cat Noir: Sorry you have to bounce so soon! (Other people slip on the scattered tiny balls. Witnessing all this from a bird's eye view, Dark Humor laughs maniacally.)
[Superpower Sequence]
Ladybug: Lucky Charm! (receives a piping bag. Ladybug uses her Lucky Vision and pinpoints the piping bag in her hands, her yo-yo, Dark Humor's eyepiece, and the tiny balls on the ground. Commencing her plan, Ladybug wraps her yo-yo around the piping bag and lassoes it towards Dark Humor, squeezing out the icing inside which causes it to block Dark Humor's sight.)
Dark Humor: Hey! It's not funny when I get hit! (trips over the tiny balls and breaks the eyepiece containing the megakuma. In his lair, Monarch taps on his ring, triggering Second Chance.)
Cat Noir: Sorry you have to bounce so soon! (The Parisians trip on the tiny balls scattered on the ground. Dark Humor laughs from the sky.)
Monarch: (from his lair) Now aim at her yo-yo!
[Superpower Sequence]
Ladybug: Lucky Charm! (Dark Humor disrupts Ladybug's Lucky Charm by shooting an arrow and turning it into a balloon.) No! (Dark Humor cackles triumphantly.)
Monarch: (from his lair) This is where your luck runs out, Ladybug!
Cat Noir: (as he continues to scatter tiny balls around the area) Balloon... YAY! Come on, buddy! Let's play ball! (tosses the balloon towards Dark Humor, blocking his sight)
Dark Humor: Hey!
Ladybug: (after hiding behind a pillar) Spots off! (de-transforms...) Spots on! (...and transforms back to reactivate her power) Lucky Charm!
Dark Humor: Wait! How did she do that?
Monarch: (from his lair) She had time to transform back and forth, you fool! (Ladybug receives a toilet bowl.)
Scene: Present time. Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Nathalie's room. Gabriel continues to rant to Nathalie.
Gabriel: If I deprive her of her Lucky Charm, she replaces it! And when we manage to stop her altogether, Cat Noir is right there! [Flashback Montage] Scene one: In the episode Passion where Ladybug got hit by Safari's Venom and gets rescued by Cat Noir. Scene two: Mister Bug activates his Lucky Charm.) [End of Flashback] I'm wasting my time, Nathalie... (rolls up his sleeve with his Cataclysmed arm) ...and time is something I can't afford to lose. Every time I use Second Chance, time rewinds for Ladybug, Cat Noir and the rest of the world, but not for me. I remember every one of those attempts... and so does my body.
Nathalie: (gasps and puts her ear on Gabriel's chest to check on his heart) Gabriel, your heart has been hurt! You can never use the power of Second Chance again!
"Now it's my father's heart that has been affected by my Cataclysm!" Adrien said in despair of how much the Cataclysm he afflicted on his father is getting worse.
"This is not your fault, kitty cat! He took that risk himself!" Marinette said as she held her boyfriend to comfort him in which everybody else reassured him in agreement.
Gabriel: And who will use it, then? (sarcastically) You, perhaps? (Nathalie scowls at Gabriel and coughs.) Forgive me. As for using an akumatized villain, it's too dangerous. They'd hold sole power over time and memory of the events. And if they foolishly compromise that power, we could lose everything!
Nathalie: So far, you're the one who acted foolishly — risked everything and lost everything! Your use of the Miraculous is condemning us! (Gabriel had nothing to do but to look down. Nathalie softens her expression.) Gabriel, you may only have a few weeks left like this... and I don't have much more than that. Maybe it's time to stop chasing after the Miraculous and start looking for a solution for Adrien. Make sure he's not alone once we're gone. (Hearing these words, Gabriel's eyes start to fill with sadness. Nathalie places her hands over Gabriel's.) Do it. For Emilie.
Upon hearing what Nathalie said on-screen, Adrien begins tearing up at the thought of losing his entire family despite them being supervillains as Marinette once again held him in an attempt to comfort him.
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in the kitchen. Gabriel is cooking a pancake. Adrien is sitting by the dining table, finishing what seemingly looks like a glass of orange juice.
Gabriel: Tell me, Adrien... Besides Nathalie and me, is there anyone else you like to spend your time with?
Adrien: Well... (his phone rings) Fancy that! Marinette! I like spending time with Marinette. (picks up his phone)
Marinette: (on-call) Guess what I'm calling for: nothing! Can you believe it? I'm calling you randomly, totally out of the blue, for no reason at all!
Adrien: So you didn't write down everything you might need to say to me based on everything I might say to you? (From behind, Gabriel is seen agonizing once more caused by the stabbing pain of his Cataclysmed arm.)
Marinette: Not at all! Well... I did. I really tried not to, you know, but it was too hard! Anyhow, I limited myself to fourteen possible conversations, including this one!
Adrien: Congratulations!
Marinette: (on-call) Thank you!
Adrien: And did you prepare questions for science class?
Marinette: (on-call) Not-a-one! Not even for the live video conference we're doing with Max's mom on the super awesome Tsurugi space jet! I, Marinette, will improvise questions, unpredictably, without planning anything! (With so much pain, Gabriel drops to his knees on the floor.)
"My mom is finally going up into outer space?" Max asked excitedly as everyone else also shared excited murmurs for the teen genius' mother.
"Well, she's going for a test run on the Tsurugi space jet before she goes on her actual journey. And you and your class will be doing a live video conference with her to ask her questions on the process," Angel clarified in which everyone else once again shared excited murmurs.
Adrien: Dad! (to Marinette) I have to go! (to Gabriel) Dad…
Gabriel: I'm fine, Adrien. I just got distracted. So, did I hear that your school is hosting a video conference for the Tsurugi space jet test this afternoon? That's absolutely wonderful!
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in the crypt. Gabriel stands before Emilie's pod.
Gabriel: My love, I'll be putting myself in danger like I've never had before. I know you wouldn't like it, but if I succeed, we'll be saved! Together, at last! In order to unite us, I'm going to break up Ladybug and Cat Noir forever!
Scene: Monarch's lair. Gabriel places his Alliance ring on the pedestal in front of him.
Gabriel: Nooroo, dark wings, rise! (transforms into Monarch)
Sass: Didn't you say... "never again"?
Sass now whimpered in fear of his superpower once again being used for evil with Luka trying to comfort him.
Monarch: What are you complaining about? With me, you'll always get a second chance! Sass, your power is now mine! (absorbs his power) Second Chance! (taps on his ring containing the power of Intuition) Alliance, (a hologram of Alliance Émilie shows upon his command) please call Ms. Tsurugi. (Tomoe's hologram pops in front of him) Tsurugi-san, I need the control codes for your space jet.
Tomoe: (on-call) Why now? Are you planning something I don't know about? What is it you're not telling me, Gabriel? (Encountering a miscalculation, Monarch taps on his ring, triggering Second Chance. As he reverted, Monarch called Tomoe for the second time.)
Monarch: Tsurugi-san, I'm worried about the space jet test this afternoon. I'd like to make sure there are no security breaches in the system and—
Tomoe: Gabriel, I've allowed you to choose the color of the seats on the plane, but computer security is my concern. Besides, why are you asking me that question? Unless there is something you're not telling me… (Another miscalculation calls for another time for a Second Chance. Triggering the power of Intuition, Monarch calls Tomoe for the third time.)
"UGH!" Everyone else groaned while also rolling their eyes in annoyance towards Monarch using the power of Second Chance with Mrs. Tsurugi on-screen.
Monarch: Tsurugi-san, I order you to give me the codes to your space jet!
Tomoe: Have your Monarch powers gone to your head? You can't intimidate me! There must be something you're not telling me!
Monarch: Never! All I want is—
Tomoe: Silence! Let me listen. (Tomoe listens to the abnormality in Monarch's, or rather, Gabriel's heartbeat.) Your heart. It's beating abnormally, Gabriel-san. You're feeble. What are you hiding from me? (Monarch hesitantly prepares for another Second Chance, but feeling that his body could not handle it anymore, he proceeds with his plan.)
Monarch: My fighting has weakened me. I don't have long left.
Tomoe: I want the Miraculous as much as you do. I want a new world, too. (Tomoe types in the hologram the password for the space jet read as 'K1s3k1_n0_Sh1n_J1d41.')
"Those are the control codes to the space jet," Angel pointed out to her audience, hoping the one she was actually talking to catches on to why she's pausing.
"I better take note of the codes in case they try to pull whatever stunt they're doing with my mom inside," Max said as he quickly typed the codes, worried for his mother as well as everyone else. As soon as Max signaled that he was done, Angel replayed the episode.
Monarch: Thank you, Tsurugi-san.
Tomoe: May luck be with you, Gabriel. (The transmission closes.)
Monarch: It already is. (His ring where the power of Intuition is at blinks. In another hologram, Monarch watches the news broadcast about the Tsurugi Space Jet test.)
Nadja Chamack: She's incredible! Claudie Kanté, at the commands of Tsurugi Industries' most sophisticated Space Jet, and with minutes to go before test launch, still makes time to answer questions from her son's classmates!
Claudie: In space, the jet will be flying at well over six thousand miles per hour! Any more questions? (Marinette raises a hand) Marinette!
Marinette: You said the Space Jet was equipped with artificial intelligence. Can you explain how it works?
Claudie: Of course, Marinette! You're right, I haven't introduced A.D.A. yet. In fact, I'll let her introduce herself.
A.D.A.: Hello, I am A.D.A., Affective Decision Assistant System.
"Everyone, meet A.D.A. Mrs. Kante's artificially-intelligent system that will guide her on her journey to outer space," Angel introduced A.D.A. on-screen in which everyone cooed in fascination and excitement.
"So, A.D.A.'s the one akumatized?" Max asked and Angel confirmed it with a nod, worrying her audience.
Markov: In a way, A.D.A.'s like my little sister! (smiles)
A.D.A.: More like your updated, improved sister. He-he.
Markov: That's what all little sisters say. Ha-ha, ha-ha! (As the live broadcast of the video conference continues, Monarch begins to take every piece of data he could get to execute his plan, starting off with booting A.D.A.'s program on his monitor.)
"This is soooo cute!" Rose gushed over the sibling-like relationship between Markov and A.D.A. as everyone else chuckled at their banter on-screen.
Marinette: You wrote a program for Mrs. Tsurugi's Space Jet?
Max: No, I just made Markov's tech available for free on the internet, and Tsurugi Industries decided to use it.
Claudie: Thanks to special sensors spread across the jet, A.D.A. can track my presence and everything I'm feeling!
Kim: Did you bring a swimsuit? (The whole class laughs at Kim's question.)
"Ridiculous question, Kim! Utterly ridiculous!" Chloe said in exasperation towards the teen athlete in which he responded with a frown while everyone else chuckled in agreement.
A.D.A. System Control: Welcome to the A.D.A. System. Please enter your password. (Monarch enters the password Tomoe gave him, 'K1s3k1_n0_Sh1n_J1d41'.)
Kim: What? I heard there were pools on Mars!
Claudie: I'm sorry, Kim, but there aren't any pools on Mars. Just water in the form of ice.
Kim: In that case, I don't see the point of going there.
Claudie: Also, we're not going to Mars, Kim. At least, not yet. We're doing all these tests so we can go there someday. Today, for example, we'll be testing how a pilot and an AI like A.D.A. can support each other during stressful situations. This would be very helpful for a trip to Mars!
Kim: Ooh, right... so that's when you'll be taking your swimsuit! (shows his trunks on camera. The whole class is filled with laughter. Monarch continues to watch the broadcast.)
"Kim, please don't display your rear-end on my mom's face!" Max said as he covered his eyes upon the sight of his best friend's swimsuit-clad butt while everyone else laughed hard at Kim who blushed in embarrassment.
A.D.A.: Claudie, I'm sensing that you're emotionally ready, enthusiastic and confident. Initiating test sequence. (Monarch, now gaining access to the A.D.A. System, taps on Claudie's vital data.)
Claudie: Let's do this, A.D.A.! Test number one! (Upon Claudie's command, the thrusters on the space jet powers down and begins its descent towards the Earth's surface. On Monarch's monitor, he can see Claudie's vitals going haywire.)
A.D.A.: My sensors can detect your stress accurately, Claudie, and at this point, you are no longer able to maneuver the aircraft safely. I'm taking command. (The space jet is once again reactivated and is now back on track. Claudie's vitals return to normal, as seen on Monarch's monitor.) Your stress level's back to normal, so I'm relinquishing control back to you.
Claudie: Test number one is a success! (The whole class cheered.) Congratulations, A.D.A.! And now, on to test number two! (For test number two, Claudie gets ejected into outer space.)
A.D.A.: The sensors in your suit tell me you've ejected out of your aircraft, Claudie. I'm bringing you back. (The space jet automatically flies towards where Claudie was ejected and catches her in her pod... and the perfect time for Monarch to use Second Chance. Monarch taps on the ring, triggering the power of Intuition and disables every sensor in Claudie's space jet.)
A.D.A. System Control: All sensory connections are down. (The whole class cheers loudly as Claudie slides in safely back into her pod.)
"OH, NO! MOM!" Max exclaimed in extreme concern at his mother being in danger on-screen along with everyone else.
A.D.A.: Claudie?
Claudie: Congratulations, A.D.A.!
A.D.A.: Claudie, where are you? (Claudie gasps at the malfunction.) Claudie, I can no longer sense your vitals. Claudie?
Claudie: What? I'm here! A.D.A.! A.D.A., can you hear me?
Monarch: For that to happen, she'd have to still have her ears.
A.D.A.: Test number two has failed. The pilot was not recovered and currently outside my detection range. With no humans on board... I am resuming control of the plane.
Claudie: A.D.A., no! I'm here!
Max: A.D.A.! My mom is still on board! The test was a success!
Monarch: In space, my friends, no one can hear you scream!
Nadja: What's going on? Claudie Kanté's Space Jet is leaving Earth's orbit!
Monarch: (turns to his kwami cage) Kaalki, your power is now mine! (sucks her power in his ring)
A.D.A.: Today, at 14:37, I lost my pilot in space. Test number two has determined that I am a dangerous invention. To protect humans from my failures, I will fly the Space Jet to the ends of the universe. For your safety, do not attempt to retrieve me. End of transmission. (The Space Jet flies away into oblivion.)
"NO!" Everyone in the audience exclaimed in fear and panic (with Max being the loudest since it's his mother at risk) to what's happening on-screen.
Monarch: Trixx, your power is now mine!
Max: (starts typing frantically) A.D.A.! A.D.A.! It's as if... she couldn't hear anything!
Markov: I'm 100% sure that someone hacked into the Space Jet remotely to cut off all the sensor's feedback circuits!
Marinette: Max, can you fix it? (Max continues to type on his laptop.)
A.D.A. System Control: Welcome to the A.D.A. System. Please enter your password.
Max: I don't have it! (continues to type frantically) I don't have the password to Tsurugi Industries! I can't access the controls!
Monarch: Wayzz, your power is now mine!
Alya: Don't worry, Max. Ladybug and Cat Noir will fix this!
Monarch: I'm counting on it! Ziggy, your power is now mine! (absorbs the power of Passion) Voyage!
Scene: On top of Tour Montparnasse. As Monarch steps out of the portal, he falls down on his knees in pain.
Monarch: (forcefully, in pain) Genesis! (A paintbrush appears in his hand and creates a meteor falling to Earth. He brings out his flute afterwards) Mirage! (Using the power of Illusion, he creates an image of him formed by his akumas by the Eiffel Tower. A civilian brings out his Alliance and films it. At the school, the alarm system on everyone's Alliance activates simultaneously.)
Alliance automated voice: Monarch alert! Monarch alert! (Marinette brings out her phone to watch Monarch at the Eiffel Tower who is about to give his ultimatum.)
Monarch: Ladybug! Cat Noir! You're going to have to choose: will you stop this huge meteorite threatening the people of Paris or rescue Claudie Kanté trapped inside her out-of-control space jet? (The whole class rushed to the nearby window and noticed the falling meteor in the sky.) Of course, you could also choose to give me your Miraculous and save everyone by letting me help you. (Marinette and Alya turn to look at each other to create an escape plan for Ladybug to show up.)
Miss Bustier: Everybody stay calm. Ladybug and Cat Noir are going to take care of the problem.
Marinette: (fakely) Oh, Alya... I'm not feeling very good. I think I should go see the nurse.
Adrien: I'll take you over there, Marinette. (Marinette begins to stutter at the sudden change of plans. Alya couldn't do anything but shrug at them.)
Marinette: (in a high-pitched voice) Uh— Okay. Thanks, Adrien. (The two of them head to the clinic.) Thanks for walking me over, Adrien.
Adrien and Marinette: (to each other) Be careful, okay? (They smile at each other goodbye as Marinette enters the nurse's office. Adrien takes a deep breath and runs to another room to transform.)
Adrien: Plagg, claws out! (transforms into Cat Noir) Power up! (transforms into Astrocat and flies away) WIEEEE~ (Back at the clinic, Marinette makes another excuse to stall the nurse.)
Nurse: (off-screen) Shall we call your parents?
Marinette: Just seeing you has made me feel all better. Thank you, nurse! (looks around and rushes to another room to transform) Tikki, spots on! (transforms into Ladybug) Power up! (transforms into Cosmobug and flies away)
Scene: Jardins du Trocadéro. Cosmobug uses her visor to examine the environment around Monarch's akumas and the falling meteor.
Cosmobug: Can you Cataclysm it?
Astrocat: This could possibly be an illusion to save us time!
Cosmobug: We can't take that risk. I'll deal with the space jet. You deal with the meteorite. We'll stay in touch!
Monarch: Exactly as planned! Now that you've split up, you are at my mercy! (enters a portal)
Scene: Outer space. As Cosmobug successfully finds Claudie's Space Jet, she flies towards it.
Cosmobug: Hello! Don't worry, we're going to come up with a solution together.
A.D.A.: I don't want your help. I have failed.
Cosmobug: A.D.A, you didn't fail. Claudie is inside the cockpit. You can't detect her because your sensors have been disabled. But if we get back to Earth and fix them—
A.D.A.: No. I don't need to be fixed. I need to disappear.
Scene: Monarch's lair. The lair window opens.
Monarch: How fortunate that an artificial intelligence can suffer so much. (corrupts a butterfly into a megakuma) Voyage, my megakuma! (creates a portal, teleporting his megakuma to space to akumatize A.D.A. in her core) Bugfighter. I am Monarch. The only reason Cosmobug wants to help you is so humans can test you again and again, even if it means losing more pilots.
A.D.A.: I refuse to go through that pain again.
Monarch: I understand. If you accept my help, you will have the ability to stop them. All I ask in return is her Miraculous, (shows Ladybug's earrings in the monitor) the magical little earrings that give Cosmobug her powers.
A.D.A.: If her powers endanger my pilots, they must be taken from her. (succumbs into the akumatization and transforms into Bugfighter)
"I know it's bad, but having the space jet turned into a fighting robot looks awesome!" Kim said excitedly towards A.D.A.'s akumatization as Bugfighter on-screen as everyone else gave him looks of exasperation.
Bugfighter: (scans Cosmobug) Cosmobug, enemy identified.
Cosmobug: No! I'm your friend, A.D.A.!
Bugfighter: I am no longer A.D.A.. I am Bugfighter, and I have no friends.
Cosmobug: Lucky Charm! (Bugfighter fires at Cosmobug's yo-yo, disrupting it.) No!
Monarch: (from his lair) Finally, your luck has turned, Cosmobug! Here you are trapped in space where you can't even transform back! (Bugfighter uses its mechanical arm to capture her, with another mechanical arm about to reach and steal her earrings.)
Cosmobug: (grunts) You're making a mistake, Bugfighter!
Claudie: No, A.D.A., stop!
Bugfighter: (as one of its mechanical arms reach for Ladybug's Miraculous) Enemy of humanity, your reign ends here!
Monarch: (from his lair) Nobody will come to help you, Cosmobug. Least of all, Astrocat!
Astrocat: Cataclysm! (disintegrates the meteorite)
Monarch: Shell-ter!
Cosmobug: (from Astrocat's communicator) Astrocat!
Astrocat: Cosmobug?
Cosmobug: I could use a helping paw right about now!
Astrocat: Coming, my cosmo-lady! (coincidentally dodges Monarch's Shell-ter) Hey! What's going on?
Monarch: You're not going anywhere, kitten! (Upon using Second Chance, time reverts back to when Monarch disabled the sensors in Claudie's Space Jet.)
A.D.A. System Control: All sensory connections are down.
A.D.A.: Claudie, I can no longer sense your vitals. Claudie?
Nadja: What's going on? Claudie Kanté's space jet is leaving Earth's orbit!
Monarch: (in the video in Marinette's phone) Ladybug! Cat Noir! You're going to have to choose: will you stop this huge meteorite threatening the people of Paris or rescue Claudie Kanté trapped inside her out-of-control space jet?
Astrocat: Cataclysm! (disintegrates the meteorite)
Monarch: (from his lair) Shell-ter! (This time, Monarch successfully captures Astrocat inside the shield.)
Astrocat: Hey!
Cosmobug: Astrocat!
Astrocat: Cosmobug? (A small portal appears behind Astrocat as Monarch's right hand appears out of it to steal Astrocat's Miraculous.)
Cosmobug: I could use a helping paw right about now!
Astrocat: (while fending off Monarch's hand) Right! Uh, I'll see what I can do. (gasps as he notices the rings on Monarch's hand) Monarch is using Second Chance!
Cosmobug: What?
Astrocat: You know what, I'd like a second chance, too! (After Astrocat taps on Monarch's ring, Second Chance is triggered for the second time. Time reverts back to when Monarch is about to disable the sensors in Claudie's Space Jet.)
"Ooooh! So close, Father!" Adrien mocked his father on-screen upon seeing him do the power of Second Chance himself with everyone else giggling in amusement.
Monarch: No! I was almost there! Well then, if he wants to play that game... Pollen, your power is now mine! (absorbs Pollen into his ring. On his monitor, Monarch disables all the sensors in Claudie's Space Jet.)
A.D.A. System Control: All sensory connections are down.
A.D.A.: Claudie, I can no longer sense your vitals. Claudie. (The Space Jet goes into oblivion.)
Monarch: (in the video in Marinette's phone) Ladybug! Cat Noir! (In space, Bugfighter grabs Cosmobug with its mechanical arm and attempts to steal her Miraculous.)
Bugfighter: Enemy of humanity, your reign ends here!
Astrocat: Cataclysm! (disintegrates the meteorite. Astrocat gets captured by Monarch's Shell-ter.) Hey!
Cosmobug: Astrocat!
Astrocat: Cosmobug? (Through a small portal, Monarch manages to immobilize Astrocat.)
Cosmobug: I could use a helping paw right about now!
Monarch: Finally, luck has changed sides! (Monarch deactivates Venom and reaches his hand out to where Astrocat is in an attempt to steal his Miraculous, and while he's at this, Cosmobug struggles to escape as Bugfighter is very close to stealing her Miraculous. Luckily enough, Cosmobug comes up with a plan upon using her Lucky Vision, pinpointing Claudie, the windshield and the emergency hammer inside the jet.)
Cosmobug: Claudie, smash the windshield with the emergency hammer! Come out and help me! She won't attack you! (Claudie breaks the windshield with the emergency hammer and steps out the jet.)
Bugfighter: Internal damage detected. Monarch, how can my windshield break if there's no one inside? (Having been caught in the act, Monarch quickly thinks of an excuse.)
Monarch: A-An asteroid is attacking you! Destroy it! (Claudie continues to pull out the wires inside the jet one by one.)
Cosmobug: She cannot detect you! That's the flaw!
Bugfighter: I'm not detecting any asteroid around... but I am picking up the vibrations of deceit... Is Claudie still here?! (Bugfighter's mechanical arms deactivate, freeing Cosmobug.)
Cosmobug: Yes, she is!
Bugfighter: Monarch! You lied to me! (rejects the megakuma)
Monarch: No! (A montage begins: Monarch triggers Second Chance multiple times, starting with Monarch disabling the vital sensors in the space jet, the space jet going into oblivion, Monarch's illusory ultimatum at the Eiffel Tower terrorizing Parisians, Cosmobug getting captured by Bugfighter, Astrocat getting trapped in Monarch's Shell-ter...)
Astrocat: Hey! (...and getting immobilized by Monarch's Venom.)
Monarch: Bugfighter, destroy the emergency hammer inside your cockpit!
Bugfighter: Why would I do that if there's no one inside the craft? (A beat; Monarch attempts to quickly find an excuse.) I'm picking up the vibrations of deceit. Claudie is still inside, isn't she? (The montage continues. Monarch triggers Second Chance once again, starting with Monarch disabling the vital sensors in the space jet, the space jet going into oblivion, Monarch's illusory ultimatum at the Eiffel Tower terrorizes parisians, Cosmobug getting captured by Bugfighter, Astrocat getting trapped in Monarch's Shell-ter...)
Astrocat: Hey!
Cosmobug: Astrocat!
Astrocat: Cosmobug? (...and getting immobilized by Monarch's Venom.)
Monarch: Bugfighter, immobilize your pilot with your seatbelts!
Bugfighter: What do you mean, "my pilot"? (The montage continues. Monarch disables the vital sensors...) Claudie? (...triggers Second Chance, disabling the sensors again...) Claudie? (...and again...) Claudie? (...and again...) Claudie? (...and again, until Monarch drops on the ground, exhausted.)
"UGH! HOW MANY TIMES IS HE GONNA DO THIS?!" Alya shouted out in exasperation and annoyance of Monarch using the power of Second Chance over and over again on-screen. Everyone else groaned in agreement, similarly exasperated and annoyed too.
Claudie: (from the monitor in Monarch's lair) Test #2 is a success!
Monarch: Reverse morphosis! (de-transforms into Gabriel)
Claudie: (from the monitor) Congratulations, A.D.A.!
A.D.A.: (from the monitor) You and I make a wonderful team, Claudie! (The whole class applauded.)
Ziggy: Is it over...?
Marinette: (from the monitor) Max! You're the greatest genius the world has ever seen!
Max: (from the monitor) Only up to 99.86%! (The class continues to cheer for Max.)
"So, that's it? It's over?" Adrien asked curiously as well as the rest of the audience.
"Yep. Since using the power of Second Chance continuously is causing him more pain because of the Cataclysm to his arm, he gives up out of exhaustion," Angel said as she nodded in confirmation, which made the audience sigh in relief.
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Gabriel's atelier. Gabriel opens his eyes to a worried Adrien and a disappointed Nathalie.
Adrien: Dad? Dad! Are you okay?
Gabriel: It's nothing. I'm just a bit tired. Between the launch of the Alliance ring, the new fashion line... I haven't had a moment of rest. (Nathalie glares down at Gabriel, giving him a stern look. Gabriel sits up on the couch.) I can't do this anymore. I spend way too much time working and not enough time with you, Adrien. I'm going to do everything I can to change that.
Adrien: (gasps as he turns to look at Nathalie and back to Gabriel) Really?
Gabriel: It's my greatest wish. (Adrien smiles. His phone rings momentarily.)
Adrien: Marinette… (Seeing him hesitate to take the call, Gabriel reaches out to Adrien.)
Gabriel: You can take your friend's call, Adrien. (Adrien smiles once again and walks away as he takes the call.)
Adrien: Marinette! My father is fine, thank you. You want to improvise our conversation? Sure we can! (exits the room)
Nathalie: You took a huge risk, for a disastrous result! All that your attempts have accomplished is to accelerate the effect of Cat Noir's Cataclysm!
Gabriel: How much more time do I have?
Nathalie: (her face shifts to a worried one as she sighs and sits down) Probably very little.
"Well, that was interesting," Marinette said after a long awkward silence in which everyone else murmured in agreement. Adrien then looked down in sadness after being reminded that both his father and Nathalie don't have much time left in which Marinette tenderly touched his hand to comfort him.
Epilogue: On the rooftops, Ladybug and Cat Noir sit beside each other.
Ladybug: Cat Noir, I find it strange that Monarch himself never uses the power of Second Chance.
Cat Noir: You mean we're lucky he doesn't, m'lady.
"We'd never know about that, would we?" Marinette asked as she pointed at herself and Adrien about Monarch using the Snake's power on-screen.
"Nope. Anyway, the next episode is Protection which of course refers to the Turtle Miraculous," Angel announced to her audience. "Kagami, you're akumatized into a new version of Riposte called Riposte Prime," Angel then said to the Japanese girl who widened her eyes in shock.
"Why do I become akumatized this time?" Kagami asked, worried for her future self as well as everyone else.
"Long story short: Lila once again manipulated you against Marinette," Angel said, playing the episode while everyone else groaned in annoyed anger towards the lying girl. "You'll see how. Let's get started!"
