Scene: Interior, Lila's room. Lila is seen sitting on her bed, talking to someone through her Alliance ring.
Lila: Sorry, Mother. I can't put you on video. We're in the savanna. The connection's just too unstable. I gotta go! I have to free a baby rhino from a poacher's snare. I'll call you at 7PM, Paris time. Love you!
Lila's second mother: (on the phone) Oh, you're so wonderful, sweetie. Love you too! (Lila hangs up the phone as her other "mother" enters the room. She begins talking to her in sign language.)
"She told her mom that she's in the African savanna freeing animals from poachers?!" Marinette asked in disbelief and exasperation with everyone else also expressing similar sentiments.
"Why would her mother even allow that? The school year isn't even over yet!" Mr. Damocles said, extremely frustrated and confused.
"That girl is getting waaaaay too much freedom!" Alix noted about Lila in which everyone else had to murmur loudly in agreement.
"It hardly seems like something to make note about, but isn't her bedroom a lot different from the one we saw on Heroes' Day?!" Adrien then pointed out and everyone else murmured in agreement after realizing it.
"Maybe she and her mother moved to a new home?" Sabine asked while she shrugged her shoulders.
Lila's third mother: (in sign language) "Who were you talking to, angel?"
"Who's this woman?" Tom asked curiously as well as everyone else.
"Apparently, a deaf woman. Is she a relative of Lila's?" Miss Bustier asked as soon as she saw the woman using sign language on-screen.
"You'll see. And let me translate what she's saying," Angel answered then began translating the woman's sign language on-screen. "Who were you talking to, angel?"
Lila: (while doing hand signs) Oh, I was talking to my agent, Mom. I was telling him I'm going to miss you while we're shooting the movie in Mexico.
"MOM?!" Everyone in the audience shouted in extreme disbelief and confusion.
"But, she just talked to her mom on the phone about being in the savanna. Plus that's not her mom! Not from what we saw on Heroes' Day!" Alya said loudly, still in extreme disbelief and confusion as well as everyone else as they all looked to Angel for an answer.
"Well, everybody, the truth is: Lila has at least three mothers, therefore lives in three different homes. The first mother you saw on Heroes' Day, the second mother she just talked to on the phone about being in the savanna, and this deaf woman is the third one. And they don't know about each other "sharing" a daughter," Angel answered, making her audience widen their eyes and drop their jaws in extreme shock.
"OK, HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?!" Marinette asked very loudly with everyone else murmuring loudly in agreement. "Are any of these women even her real mother?!"
"I don't know exactly how she's able to pull off having three mothers, but at this point, I think NEITHER of these women are her real mother. Like I said, for the next couple episodes, you're going to hear shocking truths about Lila. This is the first one," Angel answered.
"What could be more shocking than this?!" Adrien asked in disbelief with everyone else murmuring in agreement.
"You'd be surprised," Angel said as she replayed the episode while her audience gave each other worried looks.
Lila's third mother: (in sign language) "Oh, you're already going so far back when we just met."
"Oh, you're already going so far back when we just met," Angel translated the deaf mother's sign language on-screen.
Lila: (while doing hand signs) Yes, I know. We've just been reunited, Mom. But I'll be back soon.
Alliance Lila: Lila, painting class starts in fifteen minutes.
"Those poor women," Angel said about Lila's "mothers" and everyone else nodded in agreement, frowning in anger towards Lila on-screen.
Scene: On the streets. Lila walks oh-so confidently while passing by Parisians who are using the Alliance with herself as their avatars.
Alliance Lila: Your taxi will be arriving in three minutes, Quentin.
Kid: Alliance, can you please call Mommy?
Alliance Lila: The next screening is at 11:30AM. (Lila walks past Mr. Ramier.) The Place des Vosges square is 0.2 miles away, Mr. Ramier. (Lila flips her hair and stops walking besides another Parisian with her Alliance.)
Parisian: Please, Alliance. When will the next bus be here?
Alliance Lila: Three minutes.
Lila: Phew. I won't miss my flight to New York.
Parisian: (gasps) The real Alliance! Can we take a selfie?
Lila: (nods) Of course! (Lila and the Parisian take a photo together. A bus stops in front of them. The Parisian boards the bus as the door opens.)
"UGGGH!" Everyone in the audience groaned as they also rolled their eyes in extreme annoyance towards the lying girl on-screen.
Parisian: (to Lila) Thanks!
Bus driver: Please, Alliance. Show me the road construction ahead.
Alliance Lila: Construction reported in 800 meters on Rue du Quai.
Lila: Oh, where has my brain gone — I forgot my wallet!
Bus driver: Oh! Alliance... in person?! Come on, get on! Today, you ride for free!
"FREELOADER!" The teens taunted in anger towards Lila being allowed to ride the bus for free on-screen.
Lila: Aww! (Once seated, she tells her fellow passengers one of her "made-up" stories.) Of course being coached by an Olympic gold medalist would've been awesome! But, I had to turn it down. Pro-tennis wouldn't have left enough time for my charity work. (Lila gets off the bus, arriving in front of the school. She spots a penny on the pavement and picks it up.) There are days like this when everything just goes so well. (puts the penny inside her purse and starts to walk again).
"OK, wow! She can't seriously stop, can't she?!" Alya asked in exasperation and disbelief about Lila once again lying about herself on-screen with everyone else groaning in annoyed agreement.
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in the art classroom.
Sabine: It's wonderful how fast you adapt, Lila. You've only been here for a few weeks but it's like you've always been part of the class!
Lila: The credit goes to you, Sabine. It's such a shame that your daughter Marinette won't bother to take advantage of all that you have to teach!
Upon hearing that, Marinette loudly growled like a dog towards Lila bad mouthing her to her mother on-screen. Sabine then tenderly put her hand on her daughter's shoulder, giving her a warm smile in reassurance to which Marinette took a deep breath and smiled back at her mother.
Sabine: Marinette already has so much on her plate…
Alliance Lila: Warning: your Alliance will restart to install an update. This will only take a moment.
Alliance Kagami and Adrien: Update complete. Welcome!
Alliance Kagami: We are Kagami and Adrien.
Alliance Adrien: From now on, we will be the ones making your daily life easier.
Alliance Kagami and Adrien: Because together, we're always stronger! (Every person in the class turns to look at Lila, who is enraged by the current Alliance update. She takes a deep breath and coyly comes up with another story about her sudden disappearance of her avatar on the Alliance.)
"Is what we think is happening actually happening?" Adrien asked curiously as well as everyone else.
"If what you all think is that Mr. Agreste is firing Lila and replacing her image with Kagami's, then yes it is," Angel answered in which the teens sported satisfied smiles on their faces that the lying girl is finally fired from the fashion brand on-screen. "Of course his motives for doing that are not good. He wants the public to perceive that Adrien and Kagami are the perfect couple, so they would be pressured into being a couple in real life," Angel added in which everyone then facepalmed in exasperation.
Lila: Oh, right! The update! I actually wanted to tell you today. Taking this class has been an eye-opener for me. I'm tired of the fame and all my superficial connections to people in the world. I suggested this avatar change. This way, I'll be able to fully dedicate myself to my passion for painting, among real friends! Thank you, Sabine! (embraces Sabine) You're like a mother to me. (Sabine hugs her back. The class gives a round of applause for Lila's speech.)
"Satan is hugging my dear mother. Talk about shivers down my spine!" Marinette groaned as she also shivered in disgust at Lila hugging her mother on-screen. Sabine once again tenderly touched her daughter on the shoulder to calm her down which succeeded.
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Gabriel's atelier. Gabriel is in front of his monitor when the stabbing pain on his left arm hits him, causing him to grunt. He takes off his glove and reveals that the Cataclysm has already been consuming his hand. Nathalie enters the room.
Nathalie: There's someone for you at the gate. (closes the door. Gabriel presses the intercom button on his monitor. It appears that Lila was the one looking for him, who is now seen standing in front of the mansion gate.)
Lila: You could've warned me! I don't believe this replacement was in our agreement. As the face of the Gabriel brand—
Gabriel: You were only the face of my brand in exchange for a mission — to monitor my son's relationships and keep him away from bad company. You failed. My son got close to this Marinette Dupain-Cheng who's been nothing but a terrible influence on him. But you did give me one excellent idea — to create a new media-friendly pairing for my son, which is why Kagami Tsurugi will be the new female face of the Gabriel brand. (opens his Alliance) Perfection itself! All that remains to do is perpetuate this façade until it becomes truth in everyone's eyes. Absolutely everyone. And until jealousy eats away at Marinette Dupain-Cheng…
Lila: But... What's to become of me?
Gabriel: You just remain what you are. Nothing. (The intercom camera retracts back in the wall. Lila, filled with betrayal, becomes livid.) Hmm... such intense hate! It's tempting. But entrusting a power to someone who hates me so much wouldn't be a good idea.
"UH-OH!" Everyone in the audience loudly said about Mr. Agreste's remark about Lila being nothing on-screen.
Lila: You won't get rid of me that easily, Monarch. (walks away)
"As joyful as I am that Lila is finally fired from my father's brand, he should've known that she's seriously a dangerous and vengeful girl," Adrien noted as he's starting to fear Lila on-screen with everyone else nodding in agreement, also fearful of the lying girl.
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, courtyard. Adrien and Marinette walk inside the school grounds together, hand-in-hand, and are greeted by students gossiping about the new Alliance avatar update.
Student 1: There they are!
Student 2: So cool!
Student 3: These two are so cute!
Student 4: They look so great together!
Student 5: Wow!
Student 2: Did you see that? You can put them in matching outfits!
Student 6: I ship them so much, I gotta write a fanfic about them! (Adrien and Marinette sit by the stairs.)
Marinette: Did you know about that update?
Adrien: No… (Settling down, the two of them are greeted by their classmates who are also shocked about the news.)
Rose: Hey, Adrien? Doesn't your father know that you and Kagami broke up? And that now, you're about to live the most romantic love story ever with Marinette?
Adrien: Yeah. He knows.
Rose: But then... what he's doing, presenting these avatars as a couple, is a lie?
Adrien: Doesn't matter. These avatars are just images, Rose. They're not really us.
Marinette: His father can always try to force his truth on us, but we know ours. And so does Kagami. (Adrien and Marinette look at each other for a brief moment, stand up and walk up the stairs together, hand-in-hand. Lila is shown to be eavesdropping in their conversation behind a door.)
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in Ms. Bustier's classroom. Ms. Bustier is giving back the class' homework papers.
Ms. Bustier: (upon giving the paper back to Mylène) Excellent work, Mylène! (walks to Chloé and Sabrina's table) Now, however... these two papers I had a small issue with, as they both bear Sabrina's name.
Chloé: WHAT? (scowls at Sabrina)
Sabrina: I'm sorry, Chloé! It's just that I haven't slept for several nights prepping all your cheat sheets for the end-of-the-year exams!
Ms. Bustier: (gasps) Sabrina, are you saying that you did Chloé's homework?
Chloé: You don't seriously expect me to do my own homework?!
"SHOCKING!" The teens in the audience sarcastically remarked about Chloe making Sabrina do her homework on-screen. After frowning at first, Chloe silently looked down in embarrassment.
Ms. Bustier: But... your handwriting is on this paper!
Chloé: Of course, she didn't imitate my handwriting. You'd know that I didn't write it.
Ms. Bustier: How long has this been going on?
Chloé: Oh, since we learned to write— I mean, since Sabrina did. Hmph! (Ms. Bustier becomes wide-eyed.)
Ms. Bustier: Alright. Sabrina, I'm going to give you your real grade. Just don't do it again. You mustn't exhaust yourself in Chloé's service. You need your energy for yourself, too! (Sabrina nods.) As for you, Chloé, it's been so long since you've done any original work that you must've fallen way behind. You're going to need a lot of help!
"You do realize, Chloe, that given this information, we're gonna have to do a major re-evaluation on your progress on your schoolwork? To make sure you actually learned the material that we've been studying all year," Miss Bustier then gently but firmly said to the blonde girl after taking a deep breath to calm down her frustration. "Sabrina can help tutor you, but she can't do your homework for you any longer. She has her own to worry about. Do you understand?"
"Yes, Miss Bustier," Chloe reluctantly said with her head down in sadness and frustration after she was about to protest against it as a reflex.
Marinette: That's unfair, Ms. Bustier! Everybody knows that Chloé's been cheating — taking advantage of Sabrina and not making any effort compared to the others... for years! And the only consequence is that she's going to get help? Of course, we need to support students who have problems, but not when they're the problem!
Ms. Bustier: At school, Chloé is like everyone else, Marinette. Her falling behind will be punishment enough.
Chloé: Woah! First of all, I am NOT like everyone else. I am rich, which means I don't need to learn because I'll never have to work. So you can just keep your "support" and your "falling behind", thank you.
Chloe looked down and blushed in embarrassment to what she's saying on-screen while everyone else just bowed and shook their heads in frustration at her words.
Marinette: There! You see?! You're too nice to her!
Lila: Oh, Chloé... you're having problems at school and you haven't told me, your friend about it?
Chloé: (scoffs) School is pointless! It's just a daycare center so that parents of "everyone else's" can go to work! (Lila covertly sends Chloé a message through her phone.)
Lila: Marinette, as class representative, I guess you've already discussed Chloé's difficulties with the teachers, haven't you?
Marinette: Huh? Why would I have? She doesn't have difficulties! Only privileges! And if you need proof to see how the teachers will let her get away with anything!
Chloé: As they should! Otherwise, my father, the Mayor of Paris, would kick them out of school for good! (Chloé's Alliance flashes briefly as she receives the message from Lila. Lila continues her act of being compassionate.)
Lila: Oh, Marinette, I understand why you're being defensive…
Chloé: (reading Lila's message to herself) "Let me handle it. I've got this."?
Lila: Because of your wonderful romance with Adrien, you no longer have time for your duties as class representative, and that makes you feel bad. Oh, if you want, I could replace you! This way, you'll be able to think exclusively about yourself without feeling guilty for betraying the trust of those who elected you.
"SERIOUSLY IN STRANGLING MODE HERE!" Marinette loudly growled and tightly clenched her fists in extreme anger towards Lila on-screen. Both Adrien and Alya held her and whispered for her to take a deep breath to calm her down.
Marinette: Huh— What? But t-t-that's out of the question!
Lila: (stands up) It so happens that I just quit as the face of the Gabriel brand in order to have more time for my friends. If everyone agrees, I'm willing to give the attention that's obviously lacking to Chloé's and anyone else's issues.
Marinette: If you wanted to be class rep, you should've run in the election!
Lila: Oh! That's right. I wasn't here on that day. Hmm... When you think about it, it wasn't exactly democratic to hold the elections in my absence. What do you think, Ms. Bustier?
Ms. Bustier: (confused) Uh... Sorry, I was lost in thought. Despite her haughty behavior, I always thought Chloé was a gifted student. So, this new discovery today has taken me by surprise. I'll think about your proposal during lunch, Lila.
"Miss Bustier, would you actually be considering holding class representative re-elections when the school year is almost over and that your students won't even be in Francoise Dupont next year?!" Angel rhetorically asked the young teacher in exasperation as everyone else (especially the two heroes) also gave the teacher looks of exasperation in agreement.
"You're right. This is complete nonsense!" Miss Buster then agreed as she facepalmed in shame towards herself on-screen.
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in the cafeteria. Marinette walks to the table where Adrien, Alya and Nino are.
Marinette: It's Lila! No matter (slams her food tray on the table) what she's doing, she's always up to something!
Alya: Marinette, you know we'll always believe you. But every time you've accused Lila of something, there's been no evidence. And at worst, it was just a misunderstanding. (Nino nods in agreement.) You disliked her from day one because you thought she was after Adrien — fine. But it's over now! You know Adrien only has eyes for you! You don't need to be jealous anymore. (Marinette scowls.)
"What are you doing?" Adrien asked as soon as he saw his girlfriend touching her forehead.
"Oh, I'm just checking for the huge vein popping out of my head, kitty cat. Because our best friends apparently think they know Lila better than we do and are so smug about it," Marinette answered as she gave an extremely angry frown towards her best friends with Adrien following along in agreement. Both Alya and Nino just responded with nervous chuckles, but that still didn't change their best friends' frowns.
Adrien: I should've said something sooner, but Marinette's right. Lila's a pathological liar and a talented one at that. She always manages to lie her way out of trouble. (Alya and Nino coo at Adrien's defense.)
Nino: Aww! Look how he'd say anything for his sweetheart! They sound like a real little couple now.
Alya: That's super sweet of you, Adrien! But you don't have to defend Marinette, you know?
(Adrien only had his brows furrowed, seeing that their friends don't seem to believe him, too. Marinette squeezes his hand under the table.)
"OK, Alya, the next time you say something and Nino backs you up, I'll just assume he's only doing that to flatter you!" Marinette then sarcastically said in anger towards her best friend who responded by silently looking down in shame and embarrassment.
Marinette: (whispers to Adrien) You were right. We can't talk about it openly. Lila is too good a liar. They'll never believe us. (to Alya and Nino) You have to admit that holding a new class-rep election at the end of the school year makes no sense.
Alya: Duh! Then it'd be no big deal to let Lila try and see if she can get somewhere with Chloe.
Marinette: "Get somewhere with Chloé"?
Alya: Alright, fine. I'll admit that there's very little chance that Chloé will ever change. But if Lila can rid the world of such a huge dose of walking wickedness, it's worth a try, right? (Marinette, being so done with Alya's reasoning, stands up the table with her tray. Alya follows her from behind. Marinette places her tray on the tray rack. She whispers) You know, even Ladybug accepts help from Scarabella every once in a while.
Marinette: With one small difference: I trust you entirely; I don't trust Lila at all!
Alya: Marinette, Lila is a nice girl. Maybe you should give her a chance to prove it to you. (On another table, Lila, Chloé and Sabrina spy on Alya and Marinette from afar. Lila then gives Chloé an offer.)
Both Marinette and Adrien roughly facepalmed themselves while everyone else just gave looks of exasperation and shame towards themselves for being so stupid when it comes to Lila.
Lila: Don't you want to exterminate Marinette for good, like the vermin that she is, (crushes a peanut) and make her lose everything?
Chloé: Of course, I do!
Lila: Then, no matter what happens, from now on, do as I say. And in the end, your wish will come true. (Chloé nods immediately to Lila's offer. Sabrina, sitting in between them, begins to cower in fear with Chloé and Lila's conspiracy.)
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in Ms. Bustier's classroom. The whole class enters the classroom after finishing their lunch.
Ms. Bustier: School, in addition to its educational mission, must be a place of equality and justice. If Lila feels cheated for not being able to participate in the last elections, then we would all grow by acceding to her request. Which is why, even though school is nearly over, I propose that we take a new vote. I'm inviting those who wish to run to come to the board. (Marinette scowls at Ms. Bustier's decision as she glares at Lila who walks down the classroom aisle, making her way to the front.)
"SERIOUSLY?!" Everyone in the audience loudly asked the young teacher with extremely exasperated looks on their faces towards her. Miss Bustier then just looked at her on-screen self, feeling ashamed and stupid.
Lila: My dear classmates, I am convinced that even the worst person can change if you reach out to them. And to prove it to you, (points at Chloé) Chloé, would you be my deputy? (The whole class gasps collectively. Chloé, being forced to follow along, stands up from her seat and walks to Lila's side.)
Nino: Wow... is Chloé actually going to be a mere deputy?
Alya: That is SO not Chloé!
Rose: Does this mean it's already working?
Mylène: Can Lila actually get her to change?
Marinette: (slams her fists on her table) This is so crazy! It's all lies!
Lila: Poor Marinette... couldn't succeed because she was too busy with her love life, as well as being reminded by her disdain for Chloé. But you know me. You know all about my humanitarian work. I'm used to going into conflict zones. I can do this. There are two weeks left... What do you have got to lose? Help me help Chloé change. Vote for me!
Ms. Bustier: Thank you, Lila. (Lila and Chloé go back to their seats as Marinette shoots daggers at them. Marinette and Alya proceed to the front for their presentation.)
Marinette: My dear friends, of course, you should always do everything in your power to help people. And we all hoped that Chloé would become a better person. Ladybug reached out to her. Ms. Bustier reached out to her. So did Adrien and so did I. You all reached out to her. This proves how big your hearts are. And yet, Chloé remained the same. Why? Because as far as she's concerned, having a big heart is a weakness to be exploited. Chloé already thinks she's better than all of us. (Chloé nods in agreement.) So... don't be fooled. I, for one, am done wasting my energy in vain. As class representative, I'd much rather help all of you because you deserve it a thousand times more.
"Sorry for saying that, Chloe," Marinette said to the blonde girl about her speech on-screen.
"I know, Marinette. In this future, I haven't changed and I doubt I ever will. But, now I really do want to change for the better," Chloe then said with a little bit of restraint. After a moment of staring at the blonde girl in surprise, everyone else nodded in acceptance.
Ms. Bustier: Alright, everybody, write down the name of the person you want to vote for on a piece of paper, and… (Just as Marinette and Alya return to their seats, Lila interrupts Ms. Bustier and puts up another act.)
Lila: I'm sorry. I'm going to withdraw my candidacy. Marinette convinced me. She's right to call me an idiot and to say that what I'm trying to do is pointless…
Marinette: I didn't call her an idiot?!
Lila: (while sobbing) It's just that... I'm having a really bad day. (wipes her tears) The truth is, I didn't quit. Gabriel Agreste fired me. I loved helping people so much, being their personal assistant on their Alliances, and now I feel completely useless. So... when I saw Chloé, I was convinced that this could be a new way for me to help myself be useful, to feel like I, too, might belong somewhere... even though, wherever I go, there's always someone rejecting me. But if Marinette is right, and there is no more hope for Chloé, then there is no hope for me either! (runs towards the door and exits the classroom, crying)
Alya: (whispers) I think you went a bit too far. You shouldn't have called her an "idiot".
"That girl really loosened the screws on our heads!" Alya exclaimed in shame along with everyone else (except for the two heroes) that they are once again falling for Lila's act on-screen.
"YOU THINK?!" The two heroes and Angel rhetorically asked everyone else in exasperation, making them all look down in shame and embarrassment.
Marinette: (annoyed) I did not call her an idiot!
Ms. Bustier: Marinette, go see if she's okay.
Marinette: But this is all probably just an act, too!
Ms. Bustier: You are still class representative, and you have to support all the students, even those who are not your friends. (Marinette, without any choice, groans in anger and follows Lila outside the classroom. Meanwhile, in a locker room, Lila places her phone in one of the lockers. She then proceeds to a cubicle in the girls' bathroom.)
Lila: Come on, Monarch. Feel my hatred! (growls)
Scene: Monarch's lair. The lair window opens.
Monarch: A hatred such as this I've rarely felt! Far too powerful for me to ignore! (pauses in realization) Lila Rossi? Hmm... No, this anger doesn't seem to be directed at me anymore. (corrupts a butterfly and transforms it into a megakuma) Kaalki, (her pod flies towards Monarch) your power is now mine! (absorbs her power) Voyage, my megakuma, and feed on the power of her despair!
"First, he said that it wouldn't be smart to akumatize Lila. But, now he's actually doing it?! What an idiot!" Marinette loudly said in exasperation towards Monarch on-screen with everyone else murmuring in agreement, also exasperated with frowns on their faces.
"Is she really not angry at my father anymore?" Adrien asked curiously as well as everyone else.
"No, she's actually tricking him into thinking that all her anger is directed towards Marinette. What he doesn't know is that she has a secret agenda against him," Angel answered which brought worried looks to her audience's faces.
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in the girls' bathroom. The megakuma teleports to Lila's cubicle and enters her Alliance ring.
Monarch: (from his lair) Lila Rossi, I am Monarch. Could it be that you need my help again?
Lila: Marinette! It's always Marinette! All my failures are linked to her! Gabriel Agreste dismissed me because of her, and it's the same story at school! All I want now is a chance to get revenge on her!
Monarch: (from his lair) With pleasure! The enemies of my friends are my enemies. Hoaxer, you have an innate talent for lying to people. Sure, a few people still escape your power. But thanks to the one I'm about to give you, all your lies, no matter how absurd, will irresistibly be taken as the truth. Trixx, (Trixx's pod flies towards Monarch...) your power is now mine! (...and absorbs his power) Transfer! (taps on his ring and transmits the power of the Fox Miraculous to Lila's Alliance) And because a fake picture is worth a thousand lies, I am transferring to you the essence of the Miraculous of Illusion. It will give you the power to illustrate your words. Anyone who sees your images will be convinced immediately.
"And of course with her being the new updated version of Volpina, he's giving her the Fox's power of illusion," Angel explained about Hoaxer's powers in which everyone else nodded in understanding.
Lila: I will use my powers to make Marinette Dupain-Cheng's life a nightmare. Trust me, Monarch. (Just as Lila transforms into Hoaxer, Marinette enters the girls' bathroom witnessing her transformation. Monarch takes off his Alliance in his lair. Lila, now Hoaxer, opens the door to reveal herself to Marinette.)
"And I thought her original look as Volpina was utterly ridiculous enough!" Chloe noted about Lila's new appearance as Hoaxer on-screen with everyone else (especially the two heroes) murmuring in agreement.
Hoaxer: Don't worry, Marinette. I'm not going to do anything to you directly. (corners her on the wall) Your friends will take care of it all once I've revealed to them who you really are!
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in Ms. Bustier's classroom. Everyone's Alliances opens up simultaneously, with Hoaxer popping up on their screens.
Hoaxer: (on the Alliance screen) Update complete. Welcome! I am Hoaxer, your new source of information. (Everyone who makes eye contact with Hoaxer on their Alliance gets brainwashed by Hoaxer's influence, turning their eyes red, starting with Ms. Bustier.)
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in the girls' bathroom. Marinette enters a cubicle.
Marinette: We're going to have to find a solution for this "Lila problem"! Tikki, spots on! (transforms into Ladybug)
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in Ms. Bustier's classroom. Hoaxer continues to spread lies through her widespread Alliance transmission.
Hoaxer: Revelation! You want to know why Marinette is always absent and doesn't fulfill her duties as class representative? (a footage of Marinette running to an alley is shown on the Alliance screens)
Marinette: (from the transmission) Another perfect opportunity to akumatize that stupid Lila! (transforms into Monarch)
Hoaxer": Because Monarch is really her! Save Paris, my followers! Catch Marinette! (Nino gives in to the influence of Hoaxer.)
"WHAT IDIOTS WOULD BELIEVE THAT?!" Adrien asked very loudly in exasperation about the illusion Hoaxer created on-screen with everyone else loudly murmuring in agreement.
"Unfortunately, it won't be a choice for most of you," Angel said, making her audience look at her in confusion. "For those people with Alliance rings, you're all hypnotized into believing her illusions and following her commands no matter how ridiculous the illusions are."
Nino: Marinette is Monarch!
Alya: Let's save Paris! (Every student in the classroom stands up from their seats, except for Adrien, Ivan and Mylène who are the only students who are not under Hoaxer's influence.)
"See? Even Alya who knows Marinette is Ladybug and couldn't possibly be Monarch," Angel pointed out as the audience looked in exasperation and concern that they were hypnotized into believing Hoaxer's illusions on-screen.
Kim: Let's find her!
Rose: Quick!
Mylène: (to Ivan) What's the matter with them?
Ivan: They all wear Alliance rings; we don't!
Mylene: Everyone, don't — it's a trap!
"You two don't have Alliance rings since they're not the most eco-friendly product around. So, you're safe from Lila's hypnosis and of course you wouldn't believe about Marinette being Monarch," Angel pointed out to Mylene and Ivan who sighed in relief that they're safe from Hoaxer on-screen.
Adrien: (blocking the classroom's exit) Wait— That doesn't make any sense! If Marinette were Monarch, she wouldn't have akumatized Lila to reveal the truth!
Alya: Exactly! She did it on purpose so we wouldn't think it's her! (pushes Adrien on the floor as the whole class walks out the classroom. The students' hunt for Marinette begins, with Rose, Juleka, Sabrina and Kim barging in the locker room. Ladybug, currently on top of one of the lockers, witnesses every single bit of the chaos. She uses her yo-yo to swing away to the rooftops. Back in the classroom corridor, Ivan helps Adrien up.)
Ivan: Come on, Adrien! (pulls Adrien up)
Adrien: I have to find Marinette before they do!
Mylène: We'll help you!
Adrien: Oh... Okay. You guys check the nurse's office, I'll check the library! (The three of them run in two different directions as per Adrien's command. With Ivan and Mylène out of sight, Adrien re-enters the classroom.)
Plagg: Marinette as Monarch? It'd be like the most delicious tomette turning into disgusting cheese in a can!
Adrien: We can't reason with them. Lila hypnotized them through their Alliances. They'll believe anything! Plagg, claws out! (transforms into Cat Noir)
Scene: On the streets. Hoaxer's illusion of Marinette as Monarch continues to brainwash every Parisian with their Alliances.
Marinette: (from the transmission) Another perfect opportunity to akumatize that stupid Lila! (transforms into Monarch. The Parisians disperse in search of Marinette. Ladybug, now perched on a rooftop, becomes briefly helpless upon seeing every citizen brainwashed by Hoaxer's illusion. At the school's entrance, the students rush out to search for Marinette as well.)
Alya: I know where to find Marinette for sure, sooner or later! (glances at the bakery. At the rooftops, Cat Noir arrives on the scene.)
Cat Noir: We have to find Marinette Dupain-Cheng, m'lady. And quick, before they all swoop down on her!
Ladybug: The safest and fastest way would be to defeat Hoaxer!
Cat Noir: But how can we capture her? She's everywhere and nowhere at the same time!
Ladybug: Let's capture someone with an Alliance and take the ring to study how it works! (On another rooftop, Roger looks for Marinette inside a trash bin.)
Roger: Marinette Dupain-Cheng? (Ladybug wraps her yo-yo around him, lifting him out of the trash bin. Cat Noir quickly removes the Alliance ring from his finger and relieves him from Hoaxer's influence.) Ladybug? Cat Noir? What happened?
"You can snap people out of this hypnosis by removing their Alliance rings," Angel pointed out in which her audience nodded in understanding.
"But, obviously we can't spend all this time just removing every Alliance ring from everyone," Adrien said as he pointed to himself and Marinette with everyone else nodding in agreement. Angel nodded then pointed to the screen, indicating to watch further.
Cat Noir: You were used by an akumatized supervillain. (Ladybug lowers him down.) But don't worry, we'll fix it!
Ladybug: So, you just need to remove the ring to escape Hoaxer's influence.
Cat Noir: Good to know, but... we're not supposed to take everyone's rings off, are we?
Ladybug: (takes the Alliance ring from Cat Noir's hand) We need to get Hoaxer to come out of her ring and reveal herself. (examines the Alliance ring) But how? (Meanwhile on the streets, a few Parisians continue to hunt for Marinette.)
Hoaxer: (from the Alliance transmission) Stop everything, dear followers! I can feel that one of you has removed their ring, or rather, Ladybug and Cat Noir have attacked them and stolen it! Revelation! Ladybug and Cat Noir come from the planet Saturn and fart bubbles that destroy the ozone layer! They're hiding on a roof near City Hall! Save the planet, my followers! Catch them and bring me back their Miraculous!
"We come from the planet Saturn and fart bubbles that destroy the ozone layer?!" Adrien asked in disbelief and exasperation along with everyone else towards Hoaxer's new illusion on-screen.
"How ridiculous and humiliating!" Marinette noted as she facepalmed in embarrassment.
Parisian 1: Catch Ladybug and Cat Noir!
Parisian 2: But cover your noses first!
Monarch: (from his lair) Your guardian will have a difficult time escaping all of these revelations! (laughs maniacally. Back in the city, the Parisians begin climbing and enclosing the building where Ladybug and Cat Noir are.)
Cat Noir: Revelation, m'lady! Hoaxer's connected to all the Alliance rings!
Ladybug: That's how she located us! (gives the ring back to Roger) DO NOT put it back on. Under any circumstances! (Ladybug and Cat Noir flee from the Parisians who are about to swarm in on them on the rooftops. As the two heroes manage to hide behind a building, Ladybug activates her superpower.) Lucky Charm! (She receives a sewing machine. Ladybug and Cat Noir look at each other, confused.) I have an idea, but we need some very special items. I'll go grab them. In the meantime, you create a diversion.
"What am I supposed to do with this?! Sew Lila a new outfit?!" Marinette asked in exasperation along with everyone else towards the Lucky Charm given to her on-screen. Angel just responded by pointing to the screen.
Cat Noir: No problem! I'm great at diverting new audiences. (Ladybug swings away and Cat Noir goes to the ground to distract the other civilians.) Paw-don me! I got info on Ladybug and her kitty cat! (runs away as the civilians chase after him)
Scene: Interior, the Dupain-Cheng Residence, in Marinette's room. Ladybug enters her room through her trapdoor on the balcony. She walks towards her desk.
Ladybug: According to the Lucky Charm, the solution is supposed to be here. But what is it? (She uses her Lucky Vision, only to find nothing. Alya sneaks behind her and tackles her from behind.)
Alya: I'm gonna have a bomb scoop for Hoaxer! (Ladybug throws Alya on the chaise lounge and wraps her yo-yo around her, and also finds out how to use her Lucky Charm, as her Lucky Vision highlights Alya. She quickly runs to Alya and removes her Alliance, relieving her of Hoaxer's influence.) What's going o— (Ladybug hushes her, carries her in her arms and swings out of her room. They arrive on the rooftop safely.)
"Sorry I apparently have to fight rough with you, Alya," Marinette said to her best friend.
"It's cool, girl. You had to. Plus I think I really deserved a knockdown for keeping believing Lila over you," Alya said in which no one else can do but murmur in agreement.
Ladybug: Spots off! (She de-transforms into Marinette and immediately removes her earrings, to Alya's surprise.)
Alya: Hey— What are you doing?
Marinette: I need Scarabella to set a trap for Hoaxer! (She gives her earrings to Alya, along with Tikki in her hands. Alya nods in agreement.)
Scene: On the streets. The civilians already captured Cat Noir.
Cat Noir: Let go of me! (Hoaxer steps out in one of the Alliances.)
Monarch: (from his lair) Well done, Hoaxer! Cat Noir's Miraculous is a good start! (Hoaxer grins.)
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Nathalie's room. Nathalie is on her bed, in front of her monitor. Hoaxer sends a transmission to Nathalie's Alliance.
"Now this is part of Lila's secret revenge against Mr. Agreste/Monarch. How she managed to keep it hidden from him, I have no idea though," Angel pointed out as the audience looked at the screen mixed with fascination and concern.
Hoaxer: Revelation! (Nathalie's eyes turn red, brainwashing her.) Gabriel Agreste is an alien who hid his flying saucer under the pyramid of the Louvre. He must have other secrets hidden inside his house. Without ever letting him see you, you will use your smartphone, NOT your Alliance, to deliver them to me. And then, you will erase any trace of that transmission. Save the world, dear follower. Reveal Gabriel Agreste's secrets to me! (Nathalie pushes her monitor and walks towards the secret vault behind her framed photo with Gabriel and Emilie. She opens it to grab the phone inside and begins taking a picture of every content inside the vault.)
"Yeah, she's hypnotizing Nathalie into giving away all of Mr. Agreste's secrets. First, there's everything from his early life," Angel explained in which the audience looked at the screen with fascination.
"What is that place in that photo?" Adrien asked about the first photo Nathalie took out on-screen.
"That's a fast-food restaurant that your father's family used to own," Angel answered in which the audience's eyes widened in shock. "Yep, your father actually used to serve fast-food like hamburgers and French-fries. Oh, and Gabriel Agreste? Not the name he was born with. His birth name was Gabi Grassette," Angel added in which the audience snickered in amusement of Mr. Agreste's birth name.
"Is that the old man dressed in that punk-rock look?!" Nino asked as soon as he saw a new photo of young Mr. Agreste on-screen in which Angel nodded in confirmation and everyone else gave cringing looks in response.
"Is that Chloe's parents with mine?" Adrien asked as soon as he saw the photo of his parents and the Bourgeois couple and Angel nodded in confirmation. Meanwhile, Adrien sees his girlfriend frozen in shock. "What's wrong, Marinette?"
"It's just so eerie. Your father and I have a lot more in common than I'd like to believe. We weren't born rich, our families worked in the food industry, we're both designers, and we fell in love with people from rich and well-known families," Marinette pointed out in which everyone else murmured in understanding, realizing that too.
Scene: On the streets, Cat Noir fends off the civilians under Hoaxer's influence.
Cat Noir: It's you and me now, Hoaxer!
Hoaxer: (teleports in front of Cat Noir) Does this look like a tète-à-tète to you, pussy cat?
Monarch: (from his lair) Ladybug shouldn't be long now and all the Miraculous will be mine!
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Gabriel's atelier. Nathalie opens the vault behind Emilie's painting and takes a picture of what seems to be a contract between the Agrestes and the Tsurugis and the Grimoire.
"And now Nathalie is giving away all of Mr. Agreste's secrets about the Miraculous. Like that contract with Mrs. Tsurugi and the Miraculous spellbook," Angel pointed out in which everyone else gasped in shock and horror.
Scene: Back on the streets, Marinette shows herself to Hoaxer and her minions.
Marinette: (standing on top of a car) Lila! I'm the one you want! Here I am!
Cat Noir: No! What are you doing?!
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion. Nathalie is riding the elevator down the crypt, still holding her phone. She takes a photo of Emilie's pod and one of the Graham de Vanily rings that she's wearing.
Scene: Back on the streets, a brainwashed civilian is about to tackle Cat Noir when he luckily kicks him away and perches on top of a lamppost. His cat phone beeps, notifying him of a message and reading it.
Cat Noir: (reads the message to himself) "Cat Noir, it's okay. She's going to help us trick Hoaxer."
Scarabella: (continues to type the message to Cat Noir from behind a chimney) I'm hiding. As soon as I catch her with my yo-yo, get ready to Cataclysm her ring. (closes her bug phone)
Scene: Interior, the Agreste mansion, in Nathalie's room. After taking photos of all Gabriel's secrets, she sends every single one of them to Lila. She returns the phone inside the vault and closes it shut and goes back in front of her monitor by her bed, like nothing ever happened.
Scene: Back on the streets, Marinette confronts Hoaxer.
Marinette: You're right, Lila. I never liked you. I always thought you were a liar. But this has gone too far. I never wanted you to get akumatized. This has nothing to do with the people of Paris, or Ladybug and Cat Noir. You don't need to make everyone suffer because of me. If you want to talk, I'm ready to listen. (goes down from the cartop) Just you and me.
Cat Noir: Wow... I love that girl!
Hoaxer: You're right, Marinette. I should've had the courage to do that without resorting to superpowers given to me by a supervillain. I was desperate! But the fact that you're giving me another chance gives me hope! (Marinette looks surprised at her sudden change of heart. Hoaxer then rejects the megakuma, de-akumatizing herself.)
Monarch: (from his lair) No! (Lila is seen grinning while crouching on the floor after de-akumatizing herself. Scarabella looks at the purified butterfly flying away.)
Scarabella: Miraculous Scarabella! (tosses the sewing machine in the air and relieves all the civilians from Hoaxer's influence, as well as reverting all the damages caused by the villain)
Cat Noir: (sitting on the lamppost; to himself) Pound it, m'lady!
Marinette: (looks up to the rooftops;to herself) Pound it, Alya! (Scarabella flees.)
"Pound it!" Marinette, Adrien, and Alya fist-bumped together before the main couple kissed in victory.
Scene: Monarch's lair. The lair window closes.
Monarch: Dark wings, fall. (He de-transforms into Gabriel.)
Gabriel: Marinette Dupain-Cheng, it's always Marinette Dupain-Cheng! You will pay for this!
"OK, he hates me now more than ever. Even without knowing I'm Ladybug," Marinette pointed out in surprise about Mr. Agreste on-screen.
"As if we care about what the old dude thinks anymore!" Nino said to comfort his friend in which everyone else murmured in agreement, though Adrien was a tiny bit reluctant.
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in the courtyard. Adrien and Marinette sit beside each other on the stairs.
Adrien: I'm sorry, Marinette. I was wrong. I shouldn't have told you to act against Lila. If you give the slightest opportunity to people like her, they'll grasp at it and cause disasters in no time. And now, you're the one who looks like a bad person.
Marinette: (reaches out to hold his hand beside her) You thought you were doing the right thing. Just like with Chloe. That's another reason why I love you, Adrien. You always want to see the good in other people. But sometimes, the good we think we see in some people is just a reflection of our own, and we end up being fooled by our own kindness. (They squeeze each other's hands.) But we'll find a way to expose Lila eventually.
Scene: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in Ms. Bustier's classroom.
Ms. Bustier: Here is the result of the vote: unanimously elected, Lila and Chloé!
Lila: Thank you for giving me a chance, and for believing in second chances. Like me! (Chloé lets out a forced smile. The whole class applauded the two of them.)
"Really? You're giving up being the class rep?" Kim asked his friend curiously as well as everyone else.
"With you all practically wrapped around Lila's little finger, do I actually have the choice?!" Marinette rhetorically asked her class with an exasperated frown.
"Point taken," Alya responded as everyone else murmured in agreement while looking down in shame and embarrassment.
Alya: (to Marinette, nudging her on her arm) I told you she was a nice girl. She rejected her megakuma. That's proof enough, right? I'm glad you decided to trust her.
Marinette: No. I decided to let her have her way so I can finally prove to you all who she really is. (Alya looks at her with worry in her eyes.)
Epilogue: Interior, Collège Françoise Dupont, in the corridor. An Alliance ring falls and rolls on the floor with Lila's heel suddenly crushing it to pieces. With a menacing grin, she walks inside the locker room and grabs the phone she placed on the locker earlier before she got akumatized, receiving every photo that Nathalie sent her that contains every secret that Gabriel holds.
Lila: Your secrets are mine, and soon I'll have your Miraculous, Monarch. (closes the locker door)
Upon hearing that, everyone in the audience gasped in shock and horror at what Lila now wants on-screen.
"THIS IS BAD! We can't let her get the Butterfly Miraculous or any other!" Marinette said as she began to have another panic attack, but Adrien managed to calm her down.
"How can there be so much evil in someone so young?!" Longg asked, more frightened of Lila along with everyone else.
"Right now, I'm more afraid of this girl than Monarch himself!" Barkk noted in which everyone else murmured in agreement.
"M'lady, I know ever since from the start, dealing with my father should be our priority. But, maybe we should deal with the "Lila" problem first before we deal with my father," Adrien suggested, in which after some deep thought, everyone else nodded in agreement.
"You're right, kitty cat. Lila's proven to be more dangerous than your father is. We all need to come up with a plan against her quickly as soon as we get back," Marinette then said to everyone else who all murmured enthusiastically in agreement.
"Anyway, the next episode is called Confrontation which also doesn't refer to a Miraculous," Angel announced the next episode to her audience before turning to Juleka. "Juleka, you're once again re-akumatized back into Reflekta," Angel said to the teen girl which made her and everyone else gasp while also groaning in annoyance.
"Why?" Juleka quietly asked about being turned into Reflekta again.
"Another evil plot by Lila and Chloe here to discredit Marinette," Angel answered which made the audience give small glares towards Chloe who looked down in shame. "Anyway, let's get started!"
