Prologue:
Summer of 1987. Schools everywhere had closed up for a three-month break period, and business at Freddy Fazbear's Pizza is booming. A birthday party is being celebrated with the kids and adults dancing to New Wave songs. Three glossy toy-like animatronic characters perform on a small show stage. Freddy Fazbear sings lead as the star attraction, Bonnie the Bunny is on lead guitar and singing back-up along side Chica the Chicken.
Jeremy Fitzgerald, the restaurant security guard, strolls around the dining area and arcade. It was only a week ago that Jeremy started working the night shift, and he had been promoted to day shift as soon as it became available. He smiles beamingly as he watches all the other humans interact with the robotic animals. Unbeknownst to Jeremy, he is being watched as well.
A mangled animatronic fox is hanging unnoticeably from the ceiling. The fox has a white head with a pink maw. Most of it is twisted robot innards, a result of the animatronic constantly being dismantled. It's single yellow eye meets with Jeremy when he gets seemingly too close to one of the children. In an instant, it swings down and sinks its teeth into his forehead!
Chapter 1:
New York City. A three-story tall firehouse stands at a corner street. Above the front door hangs a white sign with a white ghost inside a red No symbol. Inside the building, Peter Venkman was sitting at his desk. His feet are propped up on the table top and his nose is deep in a woman's catalog. He mumbles quietly about the fashion models looking attractive in the latest summer clothing line.
Peter lowers his magazine when he hears his co-worker, Ray Stanz, playing a game of fetch with their pet ghost, Slimer. Ray throws a toy ball across the garage and Slimer flies after it. Upon bringing it back, the little green ectoplasmic entity is rewarded with a cookie and a pat on the head. They keep their game going while Winston Zeddemore finishes waxing Ecto-1, a 1959 Cadillac professional chassis serving as the Ghostbusters' prime vehicle.
"What do you think, Ray?" he asks. "Shining just like a new penny."
"I'll say," Ray delightfully replies. "What's your secret to getting ectoplasmic residue off?"
"A whole lot of muscle."
All the way in the back room, Egon Spangler is occupying his free time with a new device. Many spare parts and other gadgets are surrounding him left and right. Janine Melnitz stands behind him, eyeing the tall, blonde-haired scientist with a passionate stare.
"Watcha workin' on, Egon?" she playfully asks.
"A device that can polarize the proton beams in our wands and packs," Egon responds in a monotone. His eyes never leave his workstation.
"Why don't you take a break?"
Janine wraps her arms around Egon's shoulders. He is unfazed.
"How about a lunch date? My treat."
"With this new modification, they should be able to breach through alloys and ensnare ghosts…"
The phone at Janine's desk rings. Looking alienated, she strolls through Peter's office and up to her own, where she answers the telephone.
"Ghostbusters," she answers in an annoyed tone. "We ain't afraid of no ghost."
"Hello? Hello…hello," a nervous voice responds over the phone.
"Yes. Yes…yes sir, you've reached the Ghostbusters. How can I help you?"
"We don't want any," Peter calls out from behind.
Janine reaches for a crumpled up piece of paper and throws it at Peter. He smirks and blocks it by using his catalog to shield his face. Janine goes back to her phone call.
"Yes, of course they're the real deal…. Really…? Ya don't say…? What's the address…? They'll be right over."
She writes information on a notepad.
"Thank you…wait, what...? Yeah, they'll be totally discreet. Thank you again."
She hangs up the phone. Ray, Winston and Slimer gather around her desk.
"We got one, fellas!"
"Where is it at, Janine?" Ray wants to know.
"Here's the address," she responds, handing them the note.
"Freddy Fazbear's Pizzeria?" Winston confusedly inquires.
"Pizza?" Slimer curiously adds.
"Where fantasy and fun come alive," Ray exclaims excitedly. "I've always wanted to visit that place."
"What so scary about a kiddy place?" Peter disinterestedly asks.
"They say their animatronics maybe haunted," Janine answers.
"I say it's worth checking out. It'll satisfy the kid in Ray."
"Alright!" Ray shouts.
"Oh boy!" Slimer cheers.
"Sorry, spud," Peter says gleefully. "You're staying behind. They probably got enough ghosts to worry about."
"Aww!"
Slimer's smile melts into a frown that looks as if it would drop off his face and hit the floor.
"Why don't you take Janine up on her lunch offer, Slimer?"
"Story of my life," Janine responded sarcastically. "I trade in one slime ball for another."
With Egon joining them, the Ghostbusters suit up in their uniforms and slip on their proton packs, complete with their attached particle throwers. Then everyone piles into Ecto-1. Peter is at the steering wheel while Ray navigates. Egon and Winston sit in the back seats with the equipment. With sirens blaring, Ecto-1 races through the busy streets of New York.
Chapter 2:
It is nearly midnight when the Ghostbusters finally arrive at the parking lot of Freddy Fazbear's Pizza. The drive from the firehouse had been extremely long and tedious due to the out-of-state location of the restaurant. Ecto-1 parks in a spot in front of the building, and crunched up food wrappers and napkins fall out as the Ghostbusters exit the vehicle. With their proton packs strapped to their backs and flash lights in their hands, they proceed on foot.
"Okay, so how do we get inside?" Winston asks. At first glance of the restaurant, the windows are boarded up and there didn't seem to be a visible entrance. Apart from that, the building is still as pristine as the day it opened. Even the sign, which no longer lit up at night, still maintains a perfectly clean image of the Fazbear gang.
"Easy! We just use the front door," Peter responds.
"I can't seem find it," Ray says while flashing his light all around and knocking on the walls of the building. "Wait, I think I found it!" He pulls on two large planks with all his might until they fall off, revealing a double door entrance that is bind by chains and locks. "Darn! They didn't tell us it would be locked."
"The magic of crowbars, Ray," Peter interjects as he holds up a crowbar he retrieved from Ecto-1. He tears off the chains and locks, and then pries open the locked doors. The four Ghostbusters enter into the restaurant. With his PKE meter in hand, Egon scans the Arcade while Peter and Ray check out the Prize Corner.
"Look at all these neat prizes!" Ray joyfully exclaims. He picks up a Freddy Fazbear plush and presses its nose, which emits a high-pitched honk. He chuckles, and then notices a very large gift right next to him. "Golly! Look at the size of that gift box! What do you think is inside?"
"Probably something no kid could ever get enough tickets to win," Peter blissfully answers. "Like a new car, a trip to Paris or a night out for two."
Winston glances up at the show stage, where three weathered animatronics stand.
"These don't look like the ones on the posters," he comments. The room is decorated with posters of four toy-like animal cartoon characters: a blue bunny, a yellow slender chicken, a brown chubby bear and a white fox. All of which had rosy red circles on their cheeks. The animatronics on stage looked nothing like those: Freddy has some wear and tear, yet he is still in better condition to the faceless Bonnie the Bunny. Chica the Chicken looks chunky, has no hands and her jaw is stuck wide open. Foxy the Fox is nowhere to be seen at all. "Man, they sure don't smell right either!"
"Okay, so where are these ghosts," Peter asks.
"I suggest splitting up," says Egon.
"Great, I'll check the stalls since I feel the urge coming on."
Peter walks off to locate the restrooms.
"I told him to go at that last gas station we stopped at," Winston slyly comments.
"I'll search the kitchen while you two search the party areas and the back rooms," states Egon.
"Right," Ray responds. Let's go, Winston.
Peter steps out of the stall of the restroom and walks over to the sink. He washes his hands while jauntily whistling the Toreador march. As he finishes, he looks up at the mirror to admire himself when a pair of small white eyes appear behind him on the left. Peter turns around and sees Freddy Fazbear standing before him. The animatronic's dark eyes looking straight at him and its jaw wide open. Peter hollers as Freddy is about to make a grab for him. He aims particle thrower and opens fire. An orange positron beam is being wrapped with streams of blue sparks flying from the wand. The beam refracts off of Freddy's metal body and toward the walls.
"What the..?" Peter says in surprise. He fires a second shot at Freddy, only for the same thing to happen. Only very light spots of soot appear on Freddy's body from where each blast hit. He advances closer while forcing Peter into corner. Peter continues to fire his beam at the animatronic until it completely drains. "Oh, this is not good."
Freddy grabs the particle thrower, tearing it off completely from its cord, and breaks it in half as if it were a pencil. Peter desperately feels around his waist strap until he grabs his flashlight.
"Here's watts in your eyes!" he shouts as he flashes his light at Freddy. The animatronic suddenly stops, giving Peter the chance to make a run for it.
Meanwhile, Ray is browsing around in the parts and service room. He smiles once he sees an empty Freddy mask. Unable to resist, he picks up the mask and places it over his head.
"Hey, look at me," Ray says in a perfect Yogi Bear voice. "I'm a regular Yogi Bear! Got any pic-a-nic baskets, Boo-boo?" He hears footsteps coming. Thinking that it's Winston, he turns around and sees Chica walking down the hallway. Ray stands perfectly still and tries not to shiver. She passes by him. He exhales with a sigh of relief. She stops and turns back to face him. She takes a quick glance before continuing down the hallway. "I get a feeling she's what's rotten in Jellystone."
Simultaneously, Egon was scouting around the kitchen. He waves his PKE meter over everything, leading him to the cold storage. He sets his flashlight on the counter pointing up, and then opens the refrigerator door. Inside, Egon discovers the putrid aroma of bad milk and the sight of a rotting cake.
"Egh!" he says while holding his nose. "Even a ghost wouldn't want to smell the amount of bacteria in this fridge." Egon held the PKE meter up to the cake. The needle goes haywire. "Wait a minute! Maybe this isn't bacteria." Using tweezers, he removes a small piece of cake and places it in small pocket-sized container. He then exits the walk-in fridge and slams the door shut. He reaches for his flashlight on the counter, only to find it is not there. Before he can respond, he hears the sound of smashing and crunching. Egon looks over to his right and at the floor. In what little light there is, he sees his flashlight flattened underneath a large blue foot. He glances up and comes face-to-face with the faceless Bonnie the Bunny. He lunges at Egon, attempting to bite his head off, despite the lack of an upper jaw. Egon dives under the kitchen table, causing several pots and pans to spill out all over the floor. He rolls onto his seat with his particle thrower in hand and fires a stream at Bonnie. The mechanical bunny ignores the ineffective beam and advances toward the terrified human. Egon ceases firing and ducks just as Bonnie tries to grab him. Thinking quickly, he grabs one of the pans from off the floor and whacks the animatronic's head backwards. While Bonnie struggles to fix adjust his head, Egon makes a mad dash out of the kitchen.
Winston peeks into a party room labeled 3 and shines his flashlight around. He sees only empty chairs and tables littered with party hats. From behind him, Chica appears out of the shadows. Her handless arms are reaching out to him. At the sound of Peter's screaming, combined with falling pots and pans from the kitchen, she recoils and retreats into a different room just as Winston whirls around and shines his light on the other side toward the following party room labeled 4. He walks into the room. He sees a black shape, and his light barely lands on it when another noise grabs his attention. Winston turns back and sees Peter and Ray running toward him.
"They're alive!" Ray screams as he runs past Winston.
"And they're gonna kill us!" Peter shouts while following Ray.
"Who?" Winston asks. He aims his flashlight toward the corner turn of the hallway. Without warning, an orange animatronic fox with a hook on its right hand jumps out at Winston. "Whoa!" He ducks to the floor at the last split second just as the fox flies over him and crashes into the wall. Winston gets up just in time to see Egon running toward him.
"This way!" he shouts as he grabs Winston by the arm. Soon enough, all of the Ghostbusters gather in the security office of the building. They grab a desk at the back of the office, push it over and barricade the doorway with. For a moment, Winston wipes his forehead with his sleeve. He then jumps and screams when he sees Chica appearing in the right air vent. He grabs his particle thrower and aims it at her.
"That won't work!" Egon screams as he forces Winston to lower his weapon.
"These things are resistant to the ions in our throwers," adds Peter.
"Watch it!" Ray shouts as he points to the left air vent. Bonnie's arm comes out and nearly grabs Peter.
"They got us trapped in here like rats!" Winston cries.
Freddy and Foxy come in bashing their way through the barricading desk.
"I hope you're all ready for Freddy!" Ray nervously gulps as the animatronics entered into the office.
Chapter 3:
Surrounded by killer animatronics, the Ghostbusters are panicking. Egon looks around the office until he notices a third covered vent next to the one where Bonnie had crawled out of.
"Peter! Your crowbar," He shouts.
"Oh yeah," Peter replies as he grabs a hold of his crowbar. "Alright, boys, it's clobbering time!" Egon snatches it out of his hand before he could do anything.
"No! I mean we can use this to uncover that vent and escape."
"And what are we supposed to do?"
"Keep the animatronics busy!" Egon begins prying off the vent cover.
"With what…Oh!" Peter remembered his flashlight. He unclips it from his belt and shines a light directly in Freddy's face. Right away, Freddy stops moving. "Hey, guys! Check it out!"
"The flashlights must be messing with their facial scanners," Ray exclaimed. "Bright idea, Peter!" He and Winston shine their flashlights at Bonnie and Foxy. They stop moving almost immediately. Chica pops up behind Peter and screams in his face.
"The spotlights on you tonight, babe," Peter angrily cries as he flashes his light in her face and renders her immobile. Just then, Freddy starts up again.
"Hey, kids! W-w-w-welcome to Freddy Fazbear's pizza," the animatronic bear spoke, "a magical place for kids and grown-ups alike, where fantasy and fun come alive."
"Oh great!" Winston sarcastically screams. "His system just rebooted."
"How are you coming along with that vent?" Ray desperately asks.
"I need about one minute more," Egon strongly responds. Without warning, Foxy and Bonnie wake up again as well.
"Yar, me maties! " says Foxy as he and Bonnie join Freddy in closing in on the Ghostbusters. "No running around the cove or else ye b-b-be walkin' the plank!"
"You got thirty seconds," Peter shouts. He flashes his light at Foxy's face again, but it gets swiped from his hand and thrown to the ground by Bonnie. Suddenly, Chica reactivates and advances toward Ray with her jaws wide open. Peter gets behind Ray and Winston, who aim their light flashlights at the animatronics. Freddy and Chica smack the flashlights out of their hands.
"Let's eat!" Chica eerily cheers.
"Hurry it up, Egon!" Ray cries out.
"I got it!" Egon responds as he pries the cover off of the vent. "Let's move!"
One by one, Peter, Ray and Winston follow Egon into the ventilation shaft. The animatronics try to follow, but they prove too big to fit. The Ghostbusters come out on the other end of the shaft and wind up back in the game room. Without any hesitation, they race out through the double doors that they had entered. Peter, Ray and Winston scream in terror as all four of them head for Ecto-1. Once everyone is piled in the car, Winston starts up the engine and drives out of the parking lot. The tires screech on the pavement as Ecto-1 vanishes into the night.
Morning comes with the sun rising over the suburban landscape by the time Ecto-1 drives up back into the Ghostbusters' firehouse. As soon as the car stops, everyone gets out looking both horrified and exhausted. Janine was already at her desk with a cup of coffee and a box of donuts.
"What happened to you guys?" she concerningly asks. "You look like you've seen a…," she stops says to herself. "No, Janine. Don't make a ghost joke. You're better than that."
"What we saw was a living nightmare," Winston replies. He and Peter unstrap their proton packs.
"You said it," Peter adds. "No way are we going back there again."
"But we have to go back," Ray pleads.
"Ray, no whining!"
"You don't understand. We have a job to finish."
"Forget it, Ray," Winston rebuff. "Those animatronics are too dangerous. It's not worth our fee."
While Ray keeps bickering with Peter and Winston, Egon goes into the backroom with his proton pack without saying anything.
"That reminds me," Janine comments. "While you boys were out playing with giant robot animals, I did some research on the restaurant," she pauses and gives Peter a dirty look," after my dinner date with Slimer." Peter just shrugs his shoulders and responds with a smirk on his face.
"What did you find, Janine?" Ray excitedly asks.
"Well, I heard on last night's evening news that one of the employees, Jeremy Fitzgerald, was taken to the hospital after one of the animatronics bit him on the forehead."
Peter takes a breath and is ready to make a comical statement when he is preemptively stopped by Winston.
"Don't even think about making a joke out of that," he scolds Peter.
"Anyway, "Janine continues. "He was transferred from the Transylvania Regional Hospital in North Carolina to Bellevue in Manhattan for better observation, and also because they have more rooms available."
"Let's pay Jeremy a visit," says Ray. "Maybe he can give us some answers on the killer animatronics."
Chapter 4:
After they shower, change their clothes and have breakfast, Peter, Ray and Winston go directly to Bellevue hospital. They sit for hours in the waiting room, and it is after dark when a nurse finally came for them. She escorted the trio to the room where Jeremy Fitzgerald is being kept.
"He just recovered from surgery and he still needs rest," the nurse instructs.
"We'll be very quick," Ray kindly replies.
The trio walks into the room.
"You have visitors," the nurse calls to Jeremy, who sit up in his bed.
"Who are you?" Jeremy curiously asks.
"We're the Ghostbusters," Peter confidently answers.
"Really?"
"That's what it says on our uniforms," Peter jokes. "Now it's our turn to ask you a few questions. Like what do you know about Freddy Fazbear's Pizza?"
"Not a whole lot," Jeremy responds. "I worked there for only a week before this happened." He points to the large bandage wrapped around his head.
"How did that happen?" asks Ray.
"I was handing out some game tokens to a child when one of the animatronics – the Mangle, I believe that call it – swung down and took a bite out of me."
"It's amazing you're still alive!" Winston commented.
"I know…I'm just as amazed as you are."
"But why would the animatronic attack you like that?" Ray asks concerningly.
"My supervisor mentioned that the facial scanners of Freddy and the others were malfunctioning. They behave perfectly fine around children, but around adults…well, not so much."
"We know that for a fact," Winston dryly commented. "Those four mechanic monsters nearly did us in last night."
"Four? I thought there were Eight," Jeremy said confusingly. "I mean, we did have three on stage and a white Foxy in Kid's Cove, and there were four older models kept in back to be used as spare parts. I've seen those older models come alive.
"Those must have been the ones that attacked us! No wonder they looked different from the posters."
"My supervisor mentioned they were from an older location, but we couldn't use them because of some smell."
"What kind of smell?" Ray asks curiously.
"I don't know," said Jeremy. "But he also mentioned the old location was left to rot. The animatronics might have been left there also."
"You thinking maybe these guys are out for revenge or something?" asks Winston.
"Sounds like the plot of a bad B-movie," Peter answers, "and what would they want revenge for? Not getting their oil changed?"
"Maybe not that, but I think I know what," Jeremy speaks up. "Before I started working there, I remember reading some newspaper articles about five children that went missing at Freddy Fazbear's. The bodies were never found, and there were complaints about the animatronics exposing blood and smelling like a carcass. Maybe that was what my supervisor was talking about."
"So Freddy and his friends must be possessed by the ghosts of those dead children!" Ray shockingly exclaims.
"Okay, boys, visiting hours are over," says the nurse, who was standing at the doorway during the entire conversation. Suddenly, the power cuts out and everything in the hospital goes dark.
Back at the Ghostbusters Firehouse, Egon is still in his backroom office when Janine and Slimer enter in with a couple of fast-food burger bags.
"We brought you back some dinner, Egon," says Janine. "How goes everything in here?"
"Almost done," Egon responds.
"What'cha making, Egon?" askes Slimer as he hovers over Egon's shoulder.
"I'm making modifications to our proton packs. You see, Slimer, our streams are unable to catch ghosts that have taken possession of metal objects. However, with these new modifications, we'll be able to do just that."
"Huh?" A frown of sorrow forms on Slimer's face. He starts crying heavily and holds Egon's leg. "I'm sorry for sneaking into the fridge at nights! I get hungry."
"Relax, Slimer. This isn't about you." Egon smiles and gently pats the little green ghost on the back.
"Whew!" Slimer smiles and wipes his forehead in relief.
"I'm making these modifications for the ghosts that are possessing the four animatronics." Egon quickly finishes up his work on the last proton pack. "There, that's the last one. Now let's get these packs to the guys."
"They drove Ecto-1 to the hospital," Janine commented. "Let's take my car!"
Egon and Slimer load five proton packs into the trunk of Janine's car, and then they get in as Janine revs up the engine. As soon as everyone is fastened in, they drive out of Firehouse garage and down the street.
Chapter 5:
"Okay, who turned out the lights?" Peter asks in an annoyed tone. He takes out his keychain flashlight and shines it around the hospital room.
"You'd think a hospital staff wouldn't forget to pay their electric bills," says Winston.
"Obviously, it's a blackout, Winston," Ray adds.
"Nope," he replies as he pulls open one of the window curtains and shows the other buildings in the area with their lights on. "The outage is restricted only to this building."
"That means someone had to have cut the power. But who?"
"Do you guys here music?" asks Peter. The sound of a music box playing the Toreador March was growing louder and accompanied by heavy footsteps. The trio peek their heads outside the doorway. They notice two white lights flashing in the distant…and then six more lights appear beside it. Peter flashes his keychain light at the images, revealing to be the four animatronics from the pizzeria. "I don't believe it!"
"How did they find us?" Ray asks in terror.
"I think that's the least of our worries." Winston worriedly replies.
Freddy, Bonnie, Chica and Foxy started running toward the Ghostbusters. Without any hesitation, Peter, Winston and Ray run for their lives.
"Quick, in here!" Ray shouts as he points to a door marked Laundry Room. They rush inside just as the animatronics catch up. Freddy curiously pushes the door open, and out comes Peter, Ray and Winston wearing hospital grabs to disguise themselves.
"Oh good, you're just in time," Peter says with the doctor's mask covering his mouth. "The children's ward is on the next floor down. The kids are waiting for you to sing songs and make balloons for them."
Freddy looks at Bonnie and Chica, who simply shrug and turn to walk away. Freddy follows them, but Foxy facepalms and grabs him by the arm, pulling him back. Using his hook, the fox swipes off Peter's mask.
"Thar they be!" Foxy screams. Freddy's, Bonnie's and Chica's eyes turn black and their pupils turn bright white.
"So much for the disguise trick," Ray screams terrifyingly as he, Winston and Peter started running down the corridor again. The animatronics follow in hot pursuit.
"Okay, new plan!" Peter says as he runs up to an axe within glass box mounted on the wall. He shatters the glass and grabs the axe. "Hey, Freddy! Time to cut the act short!" He raises the axe high and brings it down swiftly, only for Freddy to stop it with his own two hands. Chica comes up to Peter and screams with her head within close range of his face. The image of her huge mouth and several teeth terrifies Peter as he unknowingly lets go of the axe. Freddy then breaks it over his knee as easily as snapping a very thin tree branch. Peter slips away just as Bonnie makes a grab for him and misses. He catches up to Winston, who is standing at the end of the hallway and holding a firehouse.
"Go ahead! Make my night!" Winston proclaims as he sprays a stream of water at the animatronics. Freddy and Foxy dodge to the left while Bonnie and Chica jump to the right.
Foxy is about to run toward Winston, but slips and falls backwards onto Freddy. The two tumble on the wet floor. "Man overboard!" Foxy shouts while flailing on his back.
Just then, Ray and Peter come running through the double doors wheeling a couple of hospital beds. They shove Bonnie and Chica onto the beds and send them racing toward the opposite end of the corridor.
"That won't buy us much time!" Ray exclaimed. "Let's head toward the exit."
Outside, Janine's car pulls up at the hospital's entrance. Egon, Janine and Slimer get out just in time to see Peter, Winston and Ray come crashing through the doors.
"We made it!" Peter cries as the trio were huffing and puffing, nearly out of breath. "We finally made it out of that nightmare clinic."
"Great, now we need to go back inside that 'nightmare' clinic," said Egon. Peter, Winston and Ray shot him a nasty look. "I've modified our proton packs. They should be able to penetrate the metal alloy of the animatronics' hull and apprehend the spirits possessing them."
"How did you know they followed us the hospital?" Ray asks.
"We listened to the news on the radio along the way," Janine answers as she hands Ray his proton pack. "Now suit up, boys! We got work to do!"
Armed with their proton packs and particle throwers in hand, the Ghostbusters, accompanied by Janine and Slimer, reenter the hospital.
"Come on out and play, Freddy!" Ray taunts.
"Good idea, Ray," Peter says sarcastically. "Make them come to us."
"That's exactly what we want, Peter," Egon replies. "Their audio sensors will lead them to where people are, so everyone make lots of noises."
Everyone starts shouting loudly. Their voices echo through the halls of the hospital, and soon are picked up by the four robotic animals. Freddy and his friends follow the sound of screaming all the way to the lobby.
"Let's show these tinker toys how we do things here in New York," Peter says as everyone charges up their wands.
"Blast them!" shouts Egon. The five of them open fire at the animatronics.
The enhanced proton beams glow extremely bright in the pitch black lobby. Fearing their servos would shut down, the animatronics shield their eyes and stumble away. Bonnie manages a peak and saw Chica being engulfed in particle energy. The spirit of a child screams in agonist while being forced out of the robotic chicken. Peter throws out the first trap and triggers it open with his foot. Immediately, the ghost child is sucked into the trap as the now lifeless Chica animatronic goes limp and falls.
Bonnie rushes over to Chica's body and holds her head up in his right arm. Suddenly, he too in engulfed in particle beam energy coming from Egon's wand. Egon throws out the second trap as he manages to extract another ghost child from the mechanical bunny. He triggers open the trap and captures the spirit. Now a void vessel too, Bonnie falls on his back next to Chica with his left hand clutching her right.
"That's two down and two do go," said Egon.
Foxy and Freddy realize what's happened to their friends. In a fit of rage, they each grab a chair from behind the lobby desk and toss them at the Ghostbusters.
"Watch out!" Slimer shouts. Everyone dodges out of the way of the flying furniture.
"Boy, these guys are really angry now," exclaimed Ray.
"What do you expect? We just sent a couple of their colleges into a permanent time out," Peter responds.
Foxy grabs an IV stand and holds it posed as if it was a sword. "I challenge you to a s-s-s-s-sword fight, ya filthy Landover!" he proclaims.
Ray smiles a confident smirk and holds his particle thrower like a sword as well. "Have at me, Foxy!" he responds. Winston watches carefully as the two swing their weapons at each other, making the sound of clanging and banging. Ray shuffles back and forth as Foxy forces him to the lobby desk. The fox then raises the IV stand high and brings it down hard. Ray shifts out of the way at the last second. Foxy winds up his fist and throws a punch. Winston pulls Ray out of the way just as Foxy's fist smashes into the desk. He swipes his hook at Ray, which nearly severs the cord of his proton pack. "Playtime's over!" Ray and Winston fire point blank range at Foxy's torso. Foxy shakes violently as the spirit child inside is forced out. Winston throws out the trap and captures the child, leaving the empty Foxy body to drop to the floor.
Freddy grew enraged seeing his friends rendered into lifeless suits. His eyes turn black with his pupils glowing white once again. In a loud mechanical roar, he grabs the bodies of Bonnie and Chica and charges at the Ghostbusters. They fire their streams, which Freddy deflects using his fellow animatronics as a shield. He then throws them at the Ghostbusters. Peter and Egon stumble back as their proton packs smack onto the hard floor and begin to spark.
"My pack's been damaged," cries Egon.
"Mine too," adds Peter.
Freddy's eyes meet with the ghost traps and proceeds towards them. His arms are out and his hands are ready to smash them open and free his captive friends. Acting quickly, Egon and Peter grabs the chords and pull the traps away from Freddy's grasp. He looks back at them with angry eyes and advances toward them again with another loud roar. He forces the two Ghostbusters into a corner.
"It's been nice knowing you, Egon."
"Oh no!" Slimer shouts. "I'm coming, Peter!" His face contorted to an angry glare as he flies right up into Freddy's face and splashes him with slime. Freddy backs away unable to see anything but green.
"Get away from my man, you 6ft forest reject!" Janine angrily exclaims. She aims her particle wand at Freddy and fires her stream. Freddy is engulfed in proton energy as the ghost child inside of him is forced outwards. Janine throws out her trap, which Slimer flies down and triggers open. In seconds, the last child spirit is captured and Freddy Fazbear is shut down.
Later that evening at the Ghostbusters Firehouse, Peter and Ray smile and wave as a large truck with a Fazbear logo drives off. Ray holds a paycheck in his hand while waving.
"Sure was nice of Fazbear Entertainment to collect their animatronics AND pay us extra for our services," Ray says happily.
"Yeah, Ray, really nice," Peter responds. "Just don't beg us got back to that restaurant any time."
In the basement of the Firehouse, Egon and Winston finish disposing the four ghosts into containment unit. Afterwards, they head back upstairs to the first floor.
"Janine," Egon says as he walks over to her desk. "If you're not too busy, I'd like to take you out to dinner to make up for last night…and also to show my thanks for saving me."
"Gee, I don't know," Janine sarcastically replies. "I may have some important science stuff to do." She smiles at Egon mischievously. "Oh, what the heck? I always have time for you." She wraps her arm around his and he escorts her out into the city.
Epilogue:
Meanwhile back at the abandoned restaurant, a lonely yellow Freddy Fazbear costume sits motionlessly among the battered walls and empty rooms. From its eyeless sockets, a pair of small white lights spark alive. It tilts its head and laughs in a low-pitch cackle…waiting.
THE END
