This ain't a spooky story. Just a cute Halloween story with Ruby doing some stuff around the monster community.

Pretty simple, right? Here's to a Happy Birthday for Ruby Rose!

Have fun!

"Is it finally time?"

"I think it is, sis. Time to prove your stuff."

"COOL!"

Ruby Rose hopped out of the room, landing on all fours, her tail wagging and her fluffy ears wiggling with glee. Yang joined her, her horns adorning her head, grinning at how her sister was already looking quite excited about her day, in which she couldn't blame her. It was a truly special day for her, and now they have a chance for her to show everyone what she's made of.

"Good, are you finally prepared?" Weiss huffed, tilting her pointed white hat, glittering snowflakes flowing around her in a gentle aura of ice and cold wind.

"Nn. It looks like it's finally time." Blake utters, lightly grooming the top of her head as her feline ears flicked and black furred talk flicked in preparation. "I think Ruby has things locked down at this point. I have faith in her."

"Thanks, Blake!" Ruby stretched while rolling her shoulder. "Alrighty, girls! We each know what to do! I'll partner up with each of you and we can accelerate our progress by the double on the double. It's time to bring a little joy to our community here! Gear up and move out!"

"ROGER!"

With that, the quartet each took off in different directions, across the landscape.

Weiss closed her eyes as she focused on her magic, her eyes glittering with a soft blue hue. While her element would be fit for a different and more seasonally fitting occasion later on down the line, that didn't mean that she didn't have anything to offer today. She smiled as she waved her hand, as well as her wand, as magic channels smoothly between the both of them.

"It seems to be a bit heated around here, Ruby. Perhaps we can change that?" Weiss tilted her hat as Ruby appeared next to her, wagging her tail eagerly.

"You channel the cool, I'll channel the wind! Leave it to me!"

"Excellent."

Weiss conjured a cooling breeze that surrounded both her and Ruby, and the latter used her roses as well as her speed to spread the cool breeze across the heated spots. Soon enough, many of the hot spots have been balanced out by a gentle breeze, cooling everyone down and giving them some much needed relief. Weiss smiles in satisfaction as the magic she's summoned about cooled the denizens with great relief. Ruby slid across the ground on all fours, her tail wagging delightfully.

"Hah! This werewolf-witch duo is the coolest around!"

Weiss resisted the urge to groan, pulling her hood over her face at how terrible the joke was. "It's things like that which makes me wonder why I even put up with you."

"C'mon, Weiss, you know that you enjoy my company!"

"You'll never hear me admit to that in public."

"So cold..." Ruby pouted, her ears and tail drooping downwards.

"What do you expect from a Snow Witch?"

Ruby smiles as she jumps and hugs Weiss, nuzzling her cheek against hers as her tail begins to wag. "You spreading kindness and cheer like you did here! Ya softy! Don't deny it!"

"Ugh. You're filthy werewolf, get off of me.' Weiss uttered with a blush, trying to push Ruby off but not really putting her back into it. She wished this night would end soon so Ruby couldn't extend this any further.

Blake hummed softly as she and Ruby were reading a book to a group of beast cubs. From fellow werewolves like Ruby, to wererabbits, to werebears, and even werecats. Many of them were gathered around, their fluffy demeanors matched by their big curious eyes. Blake's eyes were quite focused and calm, in contrast to how exuberant Ruby was as she was enacting her own reading with other cubs as they told stories to the children together.

"And with that, the young black cat wielding her magic sword, that aided her in combating many of her enemies, and taking care of her along the way." Blake smiled when she heard some of the cubs questioning how a sword could take care of a black cat. "Ah, remember. The sword was one that spoke and thought for itself, to an extent. It was always helping and assisting her wherever she went, assuring her that she would never be alone."

"Such a thing was possible?"

"In a world like this, it was definitely possible. This was not a setting where possibilities were limited by what was ordinary." Ruby helped out with a point, and a wag of her tail. Worlds like this have infinite possibilities." She beamed with a bright smile. "And along with them, a lot of possibilities for infinite optimism. There's little we wouldn't be able to do, and that's what makes our world so cool!"

Most of the young ones end up beaming at her cheerful confidence, cheering as they let out bellowing yet adorable growls, roars, or howls. Ruby turned to Blake, who smiled softly towards her as she closed her book.

"I have to thank you for picking out this book. it had a lot more value to me than I thought, and I didn't know if that would translate well to others."

"I don't think you need to worry about that." Ruby smiles as she eyes the little ones cheerfully roaring and playing. "I think they got it just fine."

Yang grinned as she leapt over the monster that slammed near her position. She landed with unabashed confidence and fiery spirit, slamming her fists together as she took up her stance. Which had the bystanders watching the battle from shelter, flustered from how energetically her ample breasts moved along with her.

"C'mon now! SURELY you've got more than that in the tank, right?!" Yang taunted, gesturing for the monster to come at her, before she laughed and flipped over a giant club smashing the ground where she stood. "Damn, you really suck at this, man!"

The Oni, a horned demon that was currently surrounded by its legion of Grimm, could only growl irritably at Yang's audacity. "You think your dragon's blood gives you the right to speak so disrespectfully?"

"Nah, that's just how I am with folks." Yang shrugged. "Ruby! Mind getting these Grimm outta my way?"

"Sure thing!"

Ruby leapt into the air, twirling in a beautiful red spiral of scattering rose petals, her fur adoring her youthful form. As she briefly stops in midair, her eyes slowly open, and shine a much brighter silver.

The Grimm surrounding the Oni was soon strucj down. Be it from Silver glowing swords piercing them from underground, chains of silver wrapping around them until they were obliterated, of a large scythe cleaning through them in one swing. One by one, the Grimm fell before Ruby, leaving the Oni to deal with Yang by itself.

"There now. Just you and me big guy." Yang rolled her shoulder as the flames danced around her. "Now you've got no excuses to not face me."

"You think I'm scared of you, girl?!" The Oni roared, its demonic energy channeling through the club, before it slammed down on Yang, causing devastation throughout the area and pushing several trees back and uprooting them. The Oni smirked, before it felt the weight shift. "What the..."

"Hey there, that wasn't a bad swing! My arm actually kinda stings!" Yang grinned as she slowly but certainly pushed the club upwards after catching it, despite the Oni striking her with all of its might. Her eyes turned a flowing red, her grin becoming a more draconic tilt. "Now, it's my turn."

"Guh!" The Oni panicked, already turning tail to run as the heat gathered around Yang. Before it could even complete its turn, Ruby appeared in front of it in a gust of roses, tilting her head.

"You've been causing trouble. Sorry, but you're gonna need to be punished. Can't let these things repeat and let everyone think they're okay, ya know?" And with that, she swiftly kicks the Oni across the face, disorienting it and turning it back towards Yang.

Yang lifts herself towards the Oni and strikes a powerful blow to its gut. It gasped as an explosion of golden flames erupted from its back, the blast taking the shape of a flying dragon as it roared, before vanishing in a brilliant bright light. Yang lands with a grin as the Oni tips a few times, before falling forward with a groan, slamming into the ground, utterly defeated.

"Now think about what you've done, and don't do it again. Got it?" Ruby scolded with her fists on her hips, her wagging tail stern and authoritative.

"Try not to cause trouble in the community again when it doesn't need to happen, mmkay? We've got ways to get along, ya know." Yang huffed as she brushed off her hands, turning to Ruby with a high five.

"...What kind of family...results in a dragon and a werewolf...being related...?" The Oni uttered, before rolling his eyes and falling unconscious.

"The really complicated kind." Yang and Ruby deadpanned in unison.

The night continues, and more and more, the monster community is becoming more and more lively. And the humans were even becoming a bit less nervous and found themselves able to come closer to them as a result.

In one corner, some people were over at a blood donation spot, both to donate to those in need, some of them being vampires that feed on blood but didn't wish to hurt anyone to get it. Ruby could be seen dashing away in a trail of rose petals, with many surprised that she donated some of her own.

"It should be safe enough for them to drink, friend-Ruby! You're in the clear!" Penny beamed, saluting her werewolf friend as she dashed away.

"Thanks Penny! You're a lifesaver!" Ruby beams as they shared a friendly gleeful hug, before both of them went on their way.

"Good luck on the coronation! I'll be there soon!"

As she was traversing further along, she gasped as a gust began to nearly blow up her dress, which she quickly pushed down as her hair, furx and tail felt the breeze. "Woah! What's with the sudden breeze?!"

The sound of a 'bonk' could be heard in the background, which Ruby quickly turned towards.

"A couple of ghosts trying to be cheeky." Maria Calavera grumbled, the ghost nursing his head while gazing at Maria in surprise. "Shocked that I can touch ya, eh? Yeah well, being a Grim Reaper has those kinds of advantages."

"G-Grim Reaper?! Oh man..." The ghost grimaced. "I didn't even get to see her-"

"Hey! Now don't you have anythin' better to do or places to be than causing drafts up young womens skirts?! Go on back home before I kick your ectoplasmic ass! Shoo!' Maria waved to her staff, with the ghost hurriedly retreating while uttering apologies, returning to the world of the dead. Maria sighed, turning to Ruby with a smile. "Ghosts and their pranks, am I right?"

"You're telling me." Ruby chuckled, as she dashed off again. "Thanks for the help, Maria."

"Don't worry your fluffy head about it, sweetie. You be good now." Maria waves was Ruby dashes away again.

Finally arriving to her destination, her team greeted her. Smiling with pride, they, as well as the gathered monsters around her, both stood in either side of her as she stood up straight, bouncing in place and eager for what came next.

A dark presence soon approached her. One that had unmatched beauty and grace, yet terrifying power and majesty to it. The being approached her, and Ruby lowered her head a bit. She soon felt her cheek being touched, and she lifts it up slightly.

"My dear. I can't quite complete your coronation if your head is down. This is something you take with your head held high." Salem, the Queen of the Grimm, smiles knowingly to Ruby, with Ruby eagerly returning the smile. Off to the side, Summer Rose, Ruby's beloved mother, could be seen, gently waving to her, werewolf ears flicking and tail wagging softly.

"You know how Ruby is. She gets so excited that she'll burn herself out before she ever reaches the thing she's excited about."

"I can't help it!" Ruby whined while her tail wagged in place, before she shook her head and stood up straight again, eyes beaming and shining. Queen helf her stance, hands clasped.

"Now then. Ruby Rose. As we all celebrate your constant contributions to closing the gap between the monster and human communities, as well as improving the status of living for monsters, as well as dealing with any troublemakers..." Salem smirked as she sees Yang gives a thumbs up. "You've deftly proven yourself as a nurturing, caring, protective, and dutiful creature of the night. And with that, I'm very proud to bestow upon you this honor."

Ruby beams brightly as her cape expands when more, a graceful mix of red and black. Her hair became more kept and clean to an extent, still having a bit of that werewolf wildness to it. Her dress turned into a formal flowing one of black and red, with numerous black and red roses adoring it, including a heart shaped one over her chest.

"Congratulations, Ruby Rose. On this Halloween night, when darkness is the home of monsters, you are their beloved, celebrated Queen."

Ruby's eyes sparkled with joy as she heard the applause coming from all around her. Her wolf ears twitched and her tail wagged ever more gleefully. Maria was off to the side, her hands in her cane and smiling wickedly yet warmly. Her best friend and robot comrade Penny clapped cheerfully, strobe lights spinning around her head. Salem was applauding her as well with Queenly grace. Weiss, Blake, and especially Yang were close and by her side, with her mother Summer serenity clapping with such warmth and softness that she hoped to one day match. But for now?

"Thanks everyone, for following me this far. It really means a lot to me, and I appreciate you all lots and lots for it. I'll try and do even more cool things from tonight onwards." Ruby dutifully nodded as she addressed everyone, before she smiled and threw her fists in the air. "Now all that's said and done: LET'S EAT LIKE TRUE MONSTERS!"

Everyone around her cheered-with the humorous yet sincere reassurance that humans were not going to be harmed in this grand banquet-as they all gathered around, prepared to partake in a feast like no other, under the night where the Moon shined bright, particularly on one Ruby Rose.

Yes, on this Halloween night, where all sorts of monsters roam within the darkness, with many fear being unappreciated, unprotected, or unloved, Ruby Rose was there. As the ever closing gap between humans and monsters closes, her sense of success and pride grew. For Halloween in a world like theirs was a night where everyone can be themselves even under the cover of the night, where almost no one would bother to look for the goodness that lies within it.

And Ruby has proven that in that field, in her own unique way, she reigned supreme.

Happy Halloween to those who celebrate it!
