The wind howls, the fire roars and the smoke chokes the air. Victorious, Yoru puffed her chest and took a deep breath filling her lungs, she slowly released her breath and cackles at the all too nostalgic scent of blood, fire and death. She heard the beaten up woman behind her groan as she slowly lifted herself up and discarded her torn up blazer, she turned around to face the stranger.

"Well I'll be damned"

"This is interesting..."

Yoru and the astral form of Asa squinted and rubbed their eyes as they tried to make sense of the person infront them, there stood a teenage girl around the age of 16 whose facial structure is disturbingly similar to Asa's. From her eyes down to her lips, like she was looking at a mirror. Except that she wore her pigtails braided with her eyes covered in dark eyeshadow, her skirt tattered and half torn with gashes in her blood stained sweater and shirt.

Wednesday wondered the same as she eyeballed the taller girl, her face shadowed by the light of the fire and setting sun behind but she's able to see her face. She was intrigued by her mirroring face but at the same time she remained her guard after the girl made a quick work of the rat demon that all three of them could not put down or exhaust. Goody Addams also had several questions in mind, for one the girl emits an aura that she could guess and two her powers to transform objects into weapons are nothing she ever saw before.

"You! Why do you have the same face as me?!" Yoru demanded as she pointed her sword at the raven.

"I'm wondering the same thing..." replied Wednesday as her own blade aligned at the demon.

Wednesday did not bother to pop up a morbid comment because she doubt that it would work. But regardless, she did not fear her.

"Forget it…" Groaned Yoru as she lowered the blade from Wednesday's face and the latter returned the favour. "I'm exhausted and I just wanna sleep, it's been an awful day" The war owl screeched a crude mimicry of a crow's call, and sooner later a cloud of crows flew from the woods along with a few pigeons and doves. The squaking birds circled the vicinity of Yoru and formed a shrinking vortex encircling her like a maelstrom then they dispersed, she was gone.

Wednesday stared blankly at the flames, wondering who that was and why she could do that. Wondering why she looks like her, for what felt like hours she snapped out of her avalanche of thoughts upon remember Enid who was flung by the monster's tail, she bolted across the parking lot kicking the entrails of the slain beast in her way and coughing as she inhaled the black fumes. She scooped her blonde companion with her arms and carried her in a bridal position.

"What about her?" Goody pointed at the snoring Kobeni, her face glowed from the light of the fire with blood droplets glistening from the cuts she suffered.

"She'll just slow us down, and who knows if she's one of those devil hunters she spoke of and accuse us of being demons in disguise?" "After all, she saw Enid bare her claws and inhuman strength." Wednesday protested.

"Girl…" Goody pressed. "She had helped us against our battle with that thing. And judging by her disquietude she's true to her intent and won't seek to harm us…"

The raven girl stared at the blonde witch with brows frowned, her coal eyes lustered by the orange flames. She moved her attention to the unconscious brunette then back at her ancestor, she slung the girl on her left shoulder and eventually made her move towards Kobeni whom she also carried at her right one.

"the sun had already set and I'm not in the right shape or mood for another fight with one of those things…" Wednesday groaned at the witch as she heaved and left tracks of blood in her wake as she followed the road leading to a sub urban community.

"I can't believe we got saved by Chainsaw Man!" Yoru furiously shouted while she clawed her pillow and gritted her teeth in scorn. Asa on her right irritated by her unending ranting and tantrum, having no idea why she hates the devil boy so much.

"Hey! I'm trying to sleep here!"

"damn him!"

"Why do you hate Chainsaw Man so much anyway?"

"I fought him a long time ago…"

"I killed him countless times before, I cut him down again and again and again! but no matter what, he still won't stay dead!"

"Next thing I knew he had eaten a portion of me, weakening me…."

Asa continued to stare at Yoru while she mouths off her story. Now filled with curiosity on why a supposedly all powerful devil became incredibly weak to the point she had to choose her, of all people as her host.

"He's the reason there hasn't been any war since World War II." "War has now only been a thing in video games and movies."

"And as the world forgot war's terror, I grew even weaker." Her eyelids went half way down as she said that last sentence.

"At this rate… everyone… will forget me…."

"Are you afraid of being forgotten?" Asa replied to the she devil. Wanting to hear more of her story but she did not get a continuation of it nor an answer.

"Hey are you kidding me?! Are you asleep already?!" Asa shouted in irritation, but she quickly gave up on pressing her to answer "A few moments earlier you were screaming non stop at the top of your lungs and throwing a fit…"

Asa stared at the ceiling of her room, fixing her gaze at the light bulb. She wondered if the reason Yoru choose to save her that night and possess her instead is because she craves companionship, someone who is also knee deep in loneliness….

She fought off the urge to sleep, her bagged eyelids fighting against her commands. "For the longest time. I did not value my own life, I did not care if I died…." Her thoughts continued to linger.

"But now, I'm not so sure. Maybe I'll find happiness one day."

"Thanks Chainsaw Man." Her mind finally drifted apart and she fell in a dreamy sleep.

After walking a mile and a half. Wednesday found motel to stay in near the suburbs, and luckily for her she came across a lost wallet on the road and told Thing to go stuff it in her bag as she was carrying two people. She stared at the dimming and withering sign written in both English and Japanese of the place, ignoring the looks of concern or suspicion she got as she marched towards the entrance to book a room for them to stay in for atleast 2 days.

"One room please…." She nonchalantly said in Japanese at the lady behind the cash register. Her bloody hand sliding the money towards the other woman, as her gaze fixed from her to the sign above that indicates the rates per night. The cashier stared at her blood soaked clothes and face aswell as the two unconscious women she was carrying, also covered with the crimson ichor.

"What happened to you? What happened to them?"

"We got attacked by a devil… We nearly escaped alive but our other friends were not so fortunate…."

"Want me to call an ambulance?"

"Try it and you're the one getting sent at the emergency room with a knife in your chest…." Wednesday threatened. Her eyes bore at the cashier as she, Enid and her newfound companion wanted none of the hassle of getting questioned for a devil attack. The hotel worker only replied with an audible gulp and sweaty face, in which she dismissed as she picked up Kobeni again who was wrapped around her shoulder then.

Wednesday stomped upwards the stairs and shoved the key of the doorknob belonging to the room labeled "13". As she twisted the knob she was greeted with a simple but cozy bedroom with a single queen sized bed, a CRT television, a bookshelf and a table with a dull flower base with a few magazines in it.

She weakly threw both Enid and Kobeni on the bed as their bodies bounced upon contact with it. Next she threw herself in between them as she groaned in relief, not caring if the bed sheet and pillows were smudged with blood. She asked questions non verbally inside her head…

"Why did we end up in Japan, Who was that girl and why does she look like me, why did everyone she encountered so far used outdated technology". Not that she disliked the last part though, if anything she smiled at the thought of it. No smartphones, no internet and no social media? That sounded great!

Thing flung a couple of newspapers and magazines at her direction, both new and old. She glanced at the headlines and magazine covers of each with the smile on her lips getting brighter as she digested the information she was reading.

She heard Enid groan and cough as she felt her movement shift the bed. "Where are we? Did you manage to kill it?" Enid questioned in which the goth girl responded with a visible excitement in her. "It's a long story Sinclair."
