AN: I decided to write another Halloween story for Britin + Gus. This one includes Molly and is set two years after the original post of Gus' Halloween costume one.

Summary: Brian, Justin, Gus, and Molly are carving and painting pumpkins for Halloween.

Title: Carving and Painting Pumpkins

Justin sat a pumpkin in front of Brian, Gus and his sister. It was Halloween in three days and they hadn't carved their pumpkins yet. They'd all been busy and he hadn't even realized it until his mom had asked where the pumpkins were at. Gus had gotten the chicken pox and just gotten over them days before. Brian who'd never had the chicken pox, it seemed, had also gotten them. So, it had been itching central and October and Halloween's thoughts had taken a back seat to that. Thankfully there had been a place nearby that still had pumpkins left. He had gone there and gotten six of the best size ones that they had left. He'd gotten one for himself, Brian, Gus, Molly and two extras incase Tucker and his mom wanted to carve one too.

His mom was at home with his stepdad who apparently hadn't had the chicken pox either. He'd caught them from Gus they figured, and it had taken time to show up. Who actually knew, but he had them. Molly had already had them twice, but in case she was staying with them for a little bit. He didn't mind having Molly over because he loved his sister. Their house was like a second home at times for her. She had decorated her own room for when she stayed over.

"Okay so I figured we could carve these up anyway we wanted to." Justin said. "We can always keep them up longer since Halloween is in a few days." He added.

"I want a cat on mine." Gus said. "On the other side can I put a dog?" He asked almost bouncing on the bench of the picnic table from excitement.

"Sure, you can, Sonny boy." Brian said taking one of the knives Justin sat down to start cutting the tops off the pumpkins.

"Can I paint my pumpkin instead of carving it?" Molly asked pulling out her sketch pad. "I want to put this on one." She said.

The drawing that she had also used different colors on showed a lot of details. There was a creepy house. There was a tree which had different things hanging from it that looked like pumpkin heads and ghosts. She had also drawn a grim reaper standing beside a person like they were about to take them. There were multiple cats and witches flying through the air. Owls, bats, and ravens all over the page. A full moon in the air which had one witch going past it. There was skeletons and mummies coming from a cemetery near the house. Molly had gotten the talent to draw like he had, but she did it for fun for the most part. She had won an art competition in school for that month.

"Wow, I don't see why you can't." Justin said. "I have paint inside that is also safe if animals chew on something." He'd gotten it since they had pets and for some reason one of the horses, Bandit, loved chewing on the wood posts.

"That's so cool, Molly." Gus said looking at the drawing. "You think you could draw something like that for me sometime?" He loved when his daddy Justin drew pictures. He could draw too, but he loved theirs more.

"Anything you want just name it, Gus." Molly said giving him a smile. She was always giving Gus drawings when she came over.

"I'll go get the paint, while I'm gone make sure he doesn't get cut." Justin said.

"I wouldn't let Gus near the knife." Brian said giving Justin a shocked look.

Justin laughed. "I meant you, Brian. They make sure you don't get cut."

Molly and Gus both laughed when Brian stuck his tongue out at his husband. "I'll get you back later when they're sleeping." Brian called after Justin. "You two pick the pumpkin you want and I'll cut the tops off. You're digging the guts out because I'm not about to touch them." He said.

"You managed to change his diapers for how long and you can't touch the insides of pumpkins?" Molly asked shaking her head. "Pass them down when you got them done. I'll gut them."

"Bite me, Blue. I never had to touch the poop." Brian said.

Molly shook her head reminding Brian of the time Gus would throw his diapers at his dads. Brian had gotten some in his face once. She had also been a victim of it, but she forgave her nephew. She loved him and hoped maybe she'd get a niece or another nephew eventually. She loved spending time with them and it was better than being with her so called dad. Her mom was cool too and even if she acted like Tucker annoyed her at times, she loved him as well. Having the dysfunctional family she did she hadn't even batted an eye when her mom started dating Tucker. Brian and Justin had been her first dose of what age different relationships looked like. They treated each other with respect and kindness. They loved each other which her mom and Tucker did. They all loved her too and Gus was the best. It showed her what could be instead of what it wasn't, that was hate and everything else the 'sperm donor' claimed.

Gus had decided he wanted to get his own pumpkin guts out. When Justin returned with the paints it was to find Gus chasing Brian around trying to get him with the insides. He had laughed watching his husband try to run from their son. He was going to have to draw or paint it later and put it with the rest of the pictures he'd made of them. The chase ended with Brian going to the ground trying to avoid their dog, Casper, who ran between his legs. They'd gotten him the day before at the animal rescue. He was born the year before on Halloween and he'd been scheduled to be put to sleep because no one had wanted him. He'd been born with one eye, and he was solid white. Gus had seen him and said that Casper the friendly ghost was real.

Casper had shot between Brian's legs enjoying the fun of them running around. Brian had stumbled and went down. Gus had caught up to him and landed on his stomach smearing pumpkin guts on Brian. Brian had been trying to keep their son's little hands away. However, Casper had come over licking Brian which had gotten him to start laughing. The hold he'd had on Gus was released and Gus smeared the pumpkin goo on his daddy Brian.

"You know, he doesn't look covered enough." Justin said with a grin looking at the bowl Molly had put all the insides in.

"Are you thinking what I'm thinking?" Molly asked before grabbing the bowl when her brother nodded.

"Don't you even dare do it." Brian said when he saw Molly and Justin coming towards them with the bowl. "Sunshine, you will be sitting in the time out chair too." He added lifting Gus up from him.

"I guess I'll have to sit there." Justin said before Molly and he started throwing the pumpkin guts at Brian.

Gus squealed out squirming away from his daddy Brian so he didn't get hit too. He ran over taking some from the bowl as well. The three of them and Casper going after Brian, who was clearly outnumbered. Instead of a snowball fight it was a pumpkin gut fight, one sided. They kept throwing until they ran out. Brian promising he was going to get them all back when they least expected it.

After Brian changed, he'd come back out where the other three had started carving or painting their pumpkin. He had carved multiple ones since they had moved to Britin for Gus. It was one thing he could do art wise, that didn't require a computer. He decided to go with something simple and traditional. He carved up the pumpkin with creepy looking eyes and sinister looking mouth on it. It didn't take long, and it gave him time to help Gus with the dog side of the pumpkin. He watched Justin and Molly as well making their pumpkins.

Justin had gone with carving one side of the pumpkin and painting some of it too. The carving was of a devil with horns, and it had details. How he managed it, he had no clue, but it was wonderful. The painting part Justin had done ghosts and goblin looking creatures. There was even a gargoyle and spiders. He could get lost all the time watching Justin draw or paint. He had spent days when Gus was an infant sitting with their son while Justin painted, and Gus napped in his arms. It was relaxing and had also put him to sleep several times.

Molly's pumpkin was coming to life looking almost like her drawing. The scale was smaller than the large sketch pad. However, she was still getting in a lot of details. It was amazing what the siblings could draw or paint with the talent they had gotten. He knew Molly didn't want to do it as a career, but she could if she ever wanted to follow in Justin's footsteps. She wanted to go to vet school and take care of animals. He knew she could do anything she put her mind to. He also knew that Justin had been putting money away in an account for her to go. He'd added to it many times as well. Gus had one even though their son claimed he wasn't going to college. He wanted to be an artist and didn't feel he needed school. They could use the money anyway they wanted to.

"I'm done." Gus said once the last little detail was done. He clapped his hands getting up from the bench and doing a little dance.

Justin took multiple pictures with the camera they'd brought outside. He also got a short video of Gus' dance that he dubbed the carving dance.

Brian lifted Gus up when he finished giving him a hug and kissing his cheek. "That was good. You going to dance like that on Halloween?" he asked. "Do the monster mash?" he added tickling Gus' belly.

Gus squealed out. "What's the monster mash?" He asked after he stopped laughing.

Molly gasped looking between Brian and Justin. "You haven't taught him the monster mash? What in the world have you been teaching him the last six years?" She asked shaking her head. "I'll teach you the monster mash song once I'm done with this." She declared.

"We have been doing other Halloween things with him. This is the first year we full out decorated and he wasn't scared of things." Brian said.

The past years Gus had liked Halloween, but he wasn't into the spooky sounds and the screaming banshee that they'd put up. This year though Gus had enjoyed it and wanted them to do a lot of decorating. The house looked like Halloween central. He was sure that Justin had gotten almost everything the store had on the Halloween isle. There was even a seven-foot-tall grim reaper in their yard.

"Well have no fear, your auntie Molly will teach you all about loving Halloween songs." She said. "I'll make up for what they have lacked teaching you." She sighed before going back to the pumpkin. She wanted to finish it then start on Gus' Halloween lessons. There was a lot to learn about the scares and fun of Halloween.

"Awesome sauce." Gus cheered. "It's okay daddies, she teach all of us. That way you know too." He declared.

"I taught her the monster mash." Justin said. "So, I'll help." He grinned.

"Like you two know my version. He can watch the three of us and decide which one he likes." Brian said. "It'll be mine, but you two can do it as well."

"I might pick all, never know daddy." Gus said with a giggle which got Justin and Molly laughing when Brian fake gasped at his son.

Molly finished her pumpkin, and they all went inside. Justin found the Monster Mash song on one of the Halloween CDs he had putting it on. They flipped a coin to see who would go first between Justin and Molly. Molly also won when they did it a second time between Brian and her. She laughed at her brothers before the music started up. She did her version of the dance while singing along to it. Gus copied her as well as adding some of his own movies. Justin and then Brian went next. Justin's wasn't far off from his sister's. She'd added a couple of extra twists and shakes in it. Gus watched Justin before he started doing close to the same dance.

Brian said they were doing it all wrong and did his version. There was a little of the robot dance move thrown in. Also, when said the Transylvania twist he did this funny move that had the other three laughing. His butt kind of arched out and he did a jump twist like thing. Gus tried coping it, but it turned into something brand new of his own creating. They were kind of the same but had added their own spin to the dance. Gus took his time before he said that they all won since he couldn't pick. He gave each of them a hug and one of the ghost cookies they'd made that morning.

After that they put on some other Halloween songs and danced to them. They were mostly upbeat, but Brian still pulled Justin in on one of them slow dancing. Molly and Gus dancing like they had no cares in the world around them. Casper barking and doing his own dance. It was loud, fun, and the only place they wanted to be. Justin holding onto Brian giving him his trademark smile. Every single day he was glad he'd told Brian they were doing this together. They had what they both needed and loved, family.

When it was time for dinner they ate it in front of the TV while watching Halloween movies. They all picked their favorite ones. Gus said that they needed to show their new baby Casper, his movie namesake. They weren't any actual scary ones, unlike the night before. Brian had sat through the Halloween movies, Scream movies and Jurassic Park. He did not see how Jurassic Park was spooky, but Justin said it came out in October of 1997, so he saw it as Halloween time movie.

Justin flopped down on Brian and his bed hours later when Gus was in bed and Molly was in her room reading. It had been a long day, and he was exhausted. He'd been going since six when he'd been woken up when Brian had let Casper out. He'd gone down to the stables feeding the horses and cleaning out the stalls. Brian and him took turns, or all three of them helped out. That morning Brian had a phone meeting with a client in L.A. about the new designs. Gus had helped out though. Molly hadn't even moved until he'd opened her door letting Gus and Casper in there. She'd groaned trying to hide under the covers, but she'd eventually come out of hiding. They had made Halloween shaped pancakes for breakfast. One of her favorite things to do.

"They wore you out too huh? Mister, I have all the energy in the world." Brian teased turning over looking at his husband.

"Yes, but wouldn't trade it for the world." Justin said. "So you going to make good on your promise and get me back?" He smirked. "I did help cover you in pumpkin guts."

"I'd forgotten about that until now." Brian said sitting up going for Justin who let out a yelp trying to get away from Brian.

It didn't work and Justin was laughing while Brian tickled him. "Mercy, I give." He said after a few minutes. "You can use something else to get me back."

Brian had a devilish grin on his face as he kissed Justin. He was for sure going to do that.
