At the beginning, Seven and Chen Shi arrived at chicken island/city of Luo Yang in search of Chen Shi's older brother, who he has never met before in his life. An old man stole their hue cakes and they give a chase. After the old man had already eaten the hue cakes, they somehow met granny chen. The granny Chen offer the two men an apartment of their own...with a high payment.
Chen Shi was at distress that they are very low on money so they cannot afford an apartment. The old man give them advice about how they can get an high-paying job...The highest-paid job is demon hunting
Seven had an amnesia but still had a good reflexes and fighting ability, proved when he saved chen shi back then, so he agreed to be a fighter based hunter. Chen Shi knew that he was able to exorcise since he was little so he agreed to be a exorcist based hunter. After listening the old man's advice, Seven begin fantasising about him and Chen Shi becoming the best demon hunters in the world and making tons of money.
Seven and Chen Shi begin their first assignment:the chicken demon
They began searching for a chicken demon and stop when they spot a small chicken demon entering the wedding
"That's our money right there! Chase it!"
"...I have a bad feeling about this," Chen Shi said hesitantly.
They hatch a plan and sneak into the wedding to find the baby chicken demon. At the wedding party, They were about to capture their target but gets distracted by a video montage of the newlyweds memories together and Seven starts crying from the emotion of people reviewing memories. He wonders why he lacks his own and what kind of person he used to be. He gets back to his senses to notice that every guest of the wedding is staring at him cutting the hairs of the bride and Groom by accident. The two demon hunter wannabes quickly flees the scene and got chased by an angry mob.
After escaping the wedding, Chen Shi managed to catch the baby chicken. They tried to killed the chicken demon. Unfortunately, the cuteness won them over.
At first, Seven tried to kill him but Chen Shi couldn't take the risk to kill him and pleaded him to spare the little chicken demon. Seven tried to refused and told him the little blue chicken demon is still dangerous despite his cute appearance until he saw the little chicken demon's puppy dog eyes. Chen shi was fully prepared to go on full hugging Seven's thighs but he didn't expect Seven would actually agree to let the baby chicken demon go
Seven give a warm smile and said "you know what? If the chicken demon prove to be harmless, we keep him"
"YES!" Chen Shi pick up the baby chicken and cuddled him
Just when they discuss what to do with baby chicken, a mysterious masked Biker arrived. He wear a black gray-lined short-sleeved bodysuit with popped collar, buckle belt, brown jacket, black gloves, knee-high black boots, a red poncho, a conical hat and a traditional Chinese mask. He demanded the two unlucky demon hunters to give him the baby chicken back. They assumed he is a demon hunter and they refused. After a big fight and chase, the Biker lose his hat, gloves and mask. He turn his face around to the duo and the boys are surprised to what they saw. The biker is a cat demon!
The cat demon yell at them for ruining his human disguise and Seven and Chen Shi assumed the cat demon is planning to eat the little chicken demon. Suddenly, They met a Stan robot who attacked Seven once it recognised the token he kept on himself (an accessory with the character "seven" embroidered). According to the robot, anyone who wears that token is an enemy of Stan. The robot is about to reveal Seven's mysterious past when a female decapitates it.
She reveals herself to be Thirteen, ranked 38 on the demon hunting list. Thirteen then threatens Seven and asks him why he has the token of the Empress's officials on him while demanding Chen Shi to hand over the chicken demon. The cat demon was about to fight her for the chicken demon but they were interrupted by the robot's self-destruct feature. Chen Shi and Seven saw the cat demon rescuing The baby chicken demon instead of eating him.
After their first task to capture the chicken demon failed, Seven decided to set up a hairdressing salon to make money. And open up a beef offal stall for extra bucks.
Granny Chen yelled at them for failing at their first jobs.
"Failing at your first job! how shameful is that!".
She kick both of their shins.
They had enough money to rent a apartment and begin living there. They watch the news on television where they discovered that the cat demon is actually Li Bing AKA King of demons, the most wanted demon alive. His companions were two chicken demons(one of them is the baby chicken that Seven and Chen Shi tried to hunt)
Chen shi might be naive at times but he definitely wasn't a fool. He remembered what Thirteen said to Seven, and hesitantly asked Seven about it
"...after you found out about the token, what would you do?"
"what? oh, that token? I don't know, I need to see the answer first."
"what if it's a bad thing?"
"well, that's precisely why I need to do it, right? I have to see for myself if my past is worth being forgotten, or not."
Chen shi paused before saying in a resolute voice "then I'll go with you too!"
After this, The two unlucky men both decides to become few of the best-ranked demon hunters in order to be recruited by the Empress which they hopes will reach their goals(Unlocking lost memories for Seven and reunion with his long lost brother for Chen Shi)
