They went back to the forest, and even though Kagome, the one he had found, had not shown any feelings of love, but only fear, she placed a hand on his chest, and voiced a warning.
You must be the string that guides us; if you go in, we will never find the way out.
From that moment on, his racing heart would not leave him be, every heartbeat followed by a deep fear of losing Kagome.
Finally, as dawn began to break, he sensed her scent. InuYasha skipped the meters separating him from the edge of the forest, and stopped just a few centimeters away from the first tree. The darkness inside seemed defiant against the first rays of sunlight, yet even so, he managed to catch Kagome's figure, walking towards him. His restless soul could not compare to anything he could fathom. His eyes could now recognize her silhouette, her hair, her gaze, there; and when she was close enough, he hesitated not, reaching and pulling her into an embrace. It was Kagome, she had Kagome's scent; and she was also giving off a dirt-like smell.
