He sat down on a rock.
"Great you're back! What's for dinner?" Aang asked.
"We've got a few options. First round nuts and some kind of oval shaped nuts and some rocked shaped nut that might just be rocks. Dig in." Sokka replied.
Jessie raise an eyebrow at her cousin and then turned her head to Katara. She was looking at the nuts which she knew that this was not going to last them. Jessie was looking over at Aang for a moment. Sokka was looking at his friend and family for a moment.
"Seriously, what else do you got?" Katara asked.
He looked back into his bag again and he knew that all he had gotten from the woods.
"Man, I don't want to eat that! I'm hungry!" Jessie whined.
Momo was looking at the rock and he tapped on a large boulder which there was a loud boom. Everyone jumped from their spots because the sound scared. The four kids were looking around to see wheat that noise was. Then Momo grabbed the rock again and dropped it on the big boulder once again.
"What was that?" Jessie asked, hearing another crash.
"It's coming from over there!" Aang said.
Aang, Jessie, and Katara rush off in the direction of the noise, leaving Sokka waving his arms at them.
"Shouldn't we run away from huge booms not towards them?" Sokka asked.
He ran after them to not lose them. They all managed to arrive to where the noise was coming from and they were behind a bush. The four of them had found the source of the noise and it was a young earthbender. He seemed to be practicing which he was pushed a couple a boulder together.
"An earthbender." Katara said excitedly.
"Let's go meet him." Aang suggested.
"He looked dangerous, so we better approach with cautious." Sokka said.
Katara had other plans as she stepped out from behind the bushes to greet him. Jessie was smirk because Katara didn't hear a word that her brother had says.
"Hello there, I'm Katara! What's your name?" Katara asked.
The earthbender looked over at her with a surprise look on his face because he was hoping that no one was around. He started to run off which block any chase with the boulder he had been practicing with. Aang, Jessie, and Sokka walked over to her and Aang waved to the mysterious earthbender who ran away.
"Nice to meet you!" Aang yelled.
As he, Sokka and Jessie join Katara who was standing there with a confuse look on her face.
"I just wanted to say hi." Katara said, confused.
"Well, you do have that affect on boys." Jessie muttered.
Katara heard her and her aura flare up at her cousin's statement. She turn to Jessie who just look away.
"I don't scare boys!" Katara yelled.
"Hey, that guy's gotta be running somewhere, maybe we're near a village andi bet that village has a market!" Aang said.
"Which means no nuts for dinner!" Katara said, excitedly.
Katara, Aang and Jessie ran towards the village leaving Sokka standing by himself.
"Hey! I worked hard to get those nuts!" Sokka yelled. Momo flew over his head, and Sokka trudged after them. "Yeah, I hate them, too."
They all head towards the village which it was just a small village with nice people. A man offered Aang a straw hat. He put it on and admired it.
"Nice hat, I'll trade you some nuts for it!" Aang said.
Sokka pushed the brim down over his face, and he laughed. Jessie was trying some berries from a fruit stall. Meanwhile, Katara has notices the young earthbender from the river bed enter a nearby building.
"Hey!" Katara called out.
She ran over to the building which Jessie, Sokka, and Aang ran after her. Inside the building, the young earthbender was standing in an empty room with his mother.
"Hi, mom."
"Where have you been, Haru? Get started on your chores."
Katara opens the door and enter.
"Hey, you're that kid! Why did you run away before?" Katara asked.
"Uh, you must have me confuse with some other kid." Haru lied.
Jessie, Aang, and Sokka enter the building.
"If you are going to lie, make it a good one." Jessie said.
"She's right. We all saw you earthbend." Aang stated.
Haru's mother close the door and the windows to block anyone from listening. She turn to her son.
"They've saw you doing what?!"
"They're crazy, mom! I mean, look at how they're dressed!" Haru said.
The four kids look at each other and shrug the statement off because they knew that doesn't bother them.
"You know how dangerous that is! You know what would happen if they caught you Earthbending?"
Then suddenly there a bang on the door which startled the group. Sokka quietly open the shades to see a group of Fire Nation soldiers outside of the store.
"Fire Nation! Act natural."
Haru's mother opened the door, and the leader of the group steps inside. He was looking at Sokka, Haru, Jessica, Katara and Aang all frozen in various uncomfortable positions. Aang's wasn't too hard to maintain, and he slipped with a shout, splashing water all over the place. Jessica just palm her forehead and groan.
"What do you want? I already paid you this week."
"The tax just doubled. And we wouldn't want an accident, now would we?"
The leader of the group spins a ball of fire in his hands.
"Fire, is sometimes...so hard to control."
Jessica just glare at him because he knew that he was pressuring Haru's mother like that. She crumpled and she pulled out an old wooden box. She gave the soldier everything inside it. He was counting it to see that there were a few cobblers and a couple of silvers.
"You can keep the cobbled ones."
He tosses them to the floor. Then he walked out, shutting the door hard behind him. Haru's mother bent down to pick up the change, while the four strangers stared at the door.
"Nice guy. How long has the Fire Nation been here?" Sokka asks.
Five years. Firelord Ozai uses our coal mines to fuel his ships."
Haru narrow his eyes
"They're thugs. They steal from us, and everybody is too big of a coward to do anything about it." Haru said, crossing his arms.
"Quiet, Haru! Don't talk like that."
"But, Haru's an Earthbender. He can make a big difference." Katara suggested.
"Earthbending is forbidden! It's caused nothing but misery for this village. Haru must never use his abilities."
Katara was shock to hear what Haru's mother's words.
"How can you say that? Haru has a gift. Asking him not to earthbend is like asking me not to Waterbend. It's a part of who we are!" Katara said.
Jessie place her hand on her cousin to stop her before she say something that will make her regret.
"You don't understand."
"I understand that Haru can help you fight back. What can the Fire Nation do to you that they haven't done already?" Katara asked.
"They can take Haru away! Like they did his father."
Haru low his head because the memory of his father and other earthbenders was taking away by the Fire Nation. Jessie was shooting her cousin "I told you to stop" look. Katara was now feeling bad that Haru and his mother was suffering.
It was dust, Haru was letting the four kids and Appa to the barn. It was enough for them to sleep anywhere. Jessie was looking around to find a perfect spot for her. Sokka was helping Aang to set up their camping gear.
"My mom said you can sleep here tonight. But you should leave in the morning." Haru told them.
"Thank you. I'll make sure that Appa doesn't eat all your hay." Aang said.
He pointed at his bison who was eating a pile of hay and turn he's head which continue to eat. Haru was walking out the barn which Katara follow after them. Jessie just sigh and help her cousin to get some food for them to eat.
"I am sorry about what I said earlier. I didn't know about your father." Katara told him.
"That's okay. It's funny. The way you were talking, back in the store... it reminded me of him." Haru said.
Katara blush and look at her feet to try to hide it.
"Thanks." Katara said.
"My father was very courageous. When the Firebenders invaded our village, he and the other Earthbenders were outnumbered ten to one. But they fought back anyway," Haru said.
Katara glances at him as she listens to his story.
"he sounds like a great man." Katara said.
They reached the top of the hill. The sun was getting ready to set.
"After the attack, they rounded up my father and every other Earthbender, and took them away. We havent seen them since." Haru said.
He kneels down on the ground, looking off into the distance. Katara sat down beside him.
"So, that's why you hide your Earthbending." Katara said.
Haru nods his head.
"Yes. But, it's funny, the only way I can feel close to my father now, is when I practice my bending." Haru said.
He uses his power to lift two stones, then crushed them to sand in his fis.
"He taught me everything I know." Haru said.
Katara touched the blue pendant that always rested in the hollow of her throat.
"See, this necklace? My aunt gave it to me. My cousin has another necklace as well." Katara said.
"it's beautiful." Haru said.
"She was killed in a fire Nation raid. This necklace is all I have left her. Jessie just
"It's not enough, is it?" Haru asked.
"No." Katara answered.
As they were heading back, there was a loud noise reached them.
"Help! Help!"
"The mine!" Haru yelled.
They headed towards it. An elderly man was half huried at it's mouth, under a mountain of sand and earth.
"Help me!"
Haru tried to hold up the mine, while Katara tugged on the man's waist. But he was stuck tight.
"It's not working!" Katara said. "We have to get help."
"There's no time. Pull harder." Haru told her.
"Haru, there's a way you can help him." Katara said, in a comanding tone.
"I can't." Haru said, ashamed.
"There's no one around to see you. It's the only way!" Katara said.
Haru ran out in front of them, and pushed the dirt back into the mine.
"Haru! You did it!" Katara said.
They both helped up the old man and led him back to the village.
=== Barn ===
Everyone was getting ready for bed. Jessie was looking at her cousin because Katara was smiling.
"What up with you?" Jessie said.
Katara sat up in bed.
"Haru was so brave to use his Earthbending to help that old man." Katara said.
"You must have really inspired him." Aang said.
"We should get some sleep." Sokka said. "We leave at dawn."
"Dawn?" Katara asked, upset. "Can't we sleep in for once?"
"Uh no." Jessie said.
"Jessie's right. This village is crawling with Fire Nation soldiers. If they discover you're, Aang, we'll be eating fireballs for breakfast. Goodnight!" Sokka said.
"I'd rather eat fireballs than nuts." Katara muttered.
Both Jessie and Aang both starts laughing.
"Goodnight!" Sokka said as he was getting annoyed.
Aang blew out the lamp. During night, the firebnders was walking towards Haru's mother shop. There was a pounding on the door and Haru open the door to see the old man he and Katara had rescued, as well as a group of soldiers. The old man pointed at Haru.
"That's him! That's the Earthbender!"
The Fire Nation soldier grabbed Haru without question and disappear into the night. The next morning, Katara went to get some water for their trip. Jessie was helping Aang to get their sleeping bags on Appa's saddle. Katara pumped a jug of water and she stood with a satisfied face. She saw Haru's mother, standing on the ridge. She smiled, but the older woman had tears streaming down her face. She let the jug slip out of her hand and shattered into the dirt. She ran back to the others and she shove open the door of the barn.
"They took him! They took Haru!" Katara said.
"What?" Aang asked.
"When?" Jessie asked.
Sokka, Aang, and Jessie walk towards Katara.
"The old man turned him in to the Fire Nation! It's all my fault, I forced him into Earchbending!" Katara said.
"Slow down, Katara. When did this happen?" Sokka said.
"Haru's mother said they came for him at midnight." Katara told him.
"Then he's long gone by now. It's too late to track him." Sokka said.
Jessie was looking at Aang because she knew that Sokka was right.
"We don't have to. The Fire Nation is going to take me right to Haru." Katara said.
"And how in the hell spirits are you going to do that?" Jessie asked.
"Because... they're going to arrest me for Earthbending." Katara told her.
Aang, Jessie, and Sokka looked at each other for a moment and back at Katara to see that she was serious.
=== Noon, cliffside path ===
Both Sokka and Katara was pushing a large boulder over to vent. Jessie was keeping an eye for a Fire Nation patrol.
"How come I'm the only one that thinks this plan is not going to work?" Jessie said to herself. She was looking at her two cousins from the edge of the cliff.
"Okay, at first I thought you were crazy, Katara, but this just might work. There are dozens of these vents all over the village. All Aang has to do is send an air current up through this one, the boulder levitates, and ta-da! Fake Earthbending." Sokka said.
Katara was looking over at Aang who was playing with a butterfly.
"Aang? Got all that?" Katara asked.
"Yes." Aang answered.
He was spinning a ball of air at a butterfly.
"Do you remember your cue?" Sokka asked.
"Relax, Sokka. You're taking the fun out this." Aang reassure him.
"By 'this,' do you mean intentionally being captured by an army of ruthless Firebenders?" Sokka stated.
"Exactly. That's fun stuff!" Aang said.
Then the three of them heard bird calls from Jessie because she was signaling them a patrol of Firebenders heading towards them. Sokka saw the patrol was in clear view.
"Here they come. Get in your places." Soka said.
Aang crouched next to the vent as they approached. Both Sokka and Katara walked towards each other and they both bump into each other.
"Get out of my way, pipsqueak." Sokka said.
"How dare you call me pipsqueak, you...you giant eared cretin!" Katara said.
"What did you call me?" Sokka asked.
Jessie just sigh and shook her head at her cousins' bad acting.
"They're not buying this crap." Jessie thought.
She continues to watch their awful performance
"A giant eared cretin! Look at those things. Do herds of animals use them for shade?" Katara said.
She made hands gestures which Jessie who was hiding behind a tree just snickers.
"You better back off." Sokka said. "Seriously, back off."
"I will not back off! I bet elephants get together and make fun of how large your ears are!" Katara said.
Jessie was laughing behind the tree.
"That's it! You're going down!" Sokka said.
"I'll show you who's boss. Earthbending style!" Katara said.
She leaped into the air which nothing happened. Jessie just palm her forehead and groan because Aang had forgot his cue.
"I said; EARTHBENDING STYLE!" Katara yelled.
Aang gasped, and let a stream of air into the vent. The boulder starts to lift into the air. The patrol of Firebenders was looking at the boulder which they also saw Momo with his hands in the air.
"That lemur! He's Earthbending!"
Jessie just palmed her forehead.
"No, you idiot. It's the girl!" Sokka said.
The guard look again but this the Lemur was gone.
"Oh. Of course."
The boulder came down as Sokka stood behind Katara with his hands on her shoulders.
"I'll hold her." Sokka said.
Katara wasn't putting up a fight. Then Sokka leans to Katara's left ear.
"You've got twelve hours to find Haru. We'll be right behind you." Sokka whispered.
The guards walked towards and took Katara away. Jessie came out of her hiding spot and watch with the boys sadly as the soldiers led Katara away. Sokka tugged on his ears, then looked angrily at Momo. Jessie couldn't help herself but snicker.
"Momo, you have big ears!" Sokka siad.
=== The Village ===
Katara was wearing a brown shirt on over her regular clothes. Jessie, Aang, and Sokka stood nearby, wearing matching straw hats. They followed on Appa as she was loaded onto a ship. They hovered above the ship as it made its way towards an island. Aang grazed down worriedly as the ship progressed.
"Don't worry, Aang. Karata knows what she's doing." Jessie said.
"Yeah. I hope your right." Aang said.
They continue to follow the boat from above the clouds. The three of them were high in the clouds to avoid being spotted. Jessie was looking out at the ocean to see a giant facility in the middle of the ocean. At the docks, they were all dressed in prison clothes. Then an old man who looked like he could be in his sixties.
"Earthbenders, it is my pleasure to welcome you aboard my modest shipyard. I am your warden. I prefer to think of you not as prisoners, but as honored guests. And I hope you come to think of me as your humble and caring host."
He was walking in front of them like and some of the earthbenders lost hope except for Katara.
"You will succeed here if you simply abide-"
The warden was interrupted by an earthbender who coughed. Then the warden started to firebender which on the earthbender who was wearing a headband jump out of the way. He was scare out of his mind as the warden was glaring at him.
What kind of guest dishonors his host by interrupting him?" The warden asked as h was looking at the guards. "Take him below. One week in solitary will improve his manners."
The guard grabbed the man and escort him away from Katara and the others earthbenders. Katara felt disgust at the action that warden was displaying. Then the warden started to resume with his orientation with the prison.
"Simply treat me with the courtesy I give you and we'll get along famously." The warden said as he was giving them the tour. "You will notice, earthbenders, that this rig is made entirely of metal. You are miles away from any rock or earth. So, if you have any illusions about employing that brutish savagery that passes for bending among you people, forget them."
Katara was looking at some of the earthbenders that were minding and she could see that some of them had their spirits were broken. Then she was looking out at the ocean as she turned around to face the warden as they came to the end of the tour.
"It is impossible. Good day."
The guards escort them to a door way which lead them to appear to be a courtyard. Then the doors close behind Katara as she gasped and turned to around to see that she was trapped. She looked around to see a lot of earthbenders were standing and sitting around. She started walking as she was spotted by Haru.
"Katara?" Haru said.
"Haru!" Katara said.
She ran up to hug him which he hugs her back.
"What are you doing here?" Haru asked.
She broke the hug as she was looking at him.
"It's my fault you were captured. I came to rescue you." Katara said.
"So, you got yourself arrested?" Haru asked.
"It was the only way to find you." Katara told him.
Haru grinned at Katara's determination.
"You've got guts, Katara. I'll give you that. Come on, there's someone I want you to meet." Haru said.
He was escorting Katara towards a group of people that was sitting together. There was a older man with a long beard.
"Katara, this is my father, Tyro. Dad, this is Katara." Haru said.
Tyro stood up and looked at Katara.
"It's an honor to meet you. Have some dinner, Katara." Tyro said, he offered the waterbender a bowl of food that look awful.
"Ew." Katara said.
"Don't worry. n none of the characters from Avatar the Last Airbender except for my Ocs.

=== Noon, cliffside path ===
She continues to watch their awful performance and sigh to see how bad they are doing this.
=== The Village ===
What kind of guest dishonors his host by interrupting him?" The warden asked as he was looking at the guards.
It's not as bad as it looks." Tyro assured her.
Then Katara took a bite which she was disgusted by the taste.
"Eew!" Katara said.
"It's still pretty bad, though." Tyro said, grinning.
Then another prisoner walked up to Tyro, Katara and Haru as he placed his hand on Tyro's shoulder.
"Tyro, the prisoners are complaining there aren't enough blankets to go around."
"I'll talk to the guards. In the meantime, make sure the elderly are taken care of. the rest of us will simply have to hope for warmer weather." Tyro said.
"If you don't mind me asking, what's your escape plan?" Katara asked.
Tyro was looking at the water bender.
"Excuse me?" Tyro said.
"You know, the plan to get everyone off the rig? What is it? Mutiny? Sabotage?" Katara asked.
"The plan? The plan is to survive, wait out this war, hope that one day some of us can get back home and forget this ever happened." Tyro said, softly.
Katara looked at how cowardly that Tyro was acting.
"How can you say that? You sound like you've already given up." Katara said.
"Katara, I admire your courage. And I envy your youth. But people's live are at stake here. The warden is a ruthless man, and he won't stand for any rebellion. I'm sorry, but we're powerless." Tyro stated.
Katara rose to her feet and looked at Tyro.
"We'll see about that." Katara said.
She walked over to grab a lid and a spoon. She started banging out it to get everyone's attention.
"Earthbenders! You don't know me, but I know of you. Every child in my water tribe village was rocked to sleep with stories of the brave earth kingdom and the courageous earthbenders who guard its borders." Katara said.
The warden and his guards was watching from the top of the wall. One of the guards was getting ready to head down to arrest Katara but the wadern stopped him as he let her continue her speech. Haru was looking at Katara to see that she was speaking the truth.
"Some of you may think that the fire nation. Yes. They have taken away your ability to bend. But they can't take away your courage. And it is your courage they should truly fear, because it runs deeper than any mine you've been forced to dig, any ocean that keeps you far from home. It is the strength of your hearts that make you who you are, hearts that will remain unbroken when all rock and stone has eroded away. The time to fight back is now! I can tell you that the Avatar has returned! So remember your courage, earthbenders! Let us fight for our freedom!" Katara said.
She noticed that no one has say anything after her speech. Some of them were hanging their heads in shame and defeat. Haru knew that he couldn't help her but he knew that her speech had touch his heart. Tyro just sigh because he knew that it was hopeless for her to try. The warden just smirked as he walked away from the rail. Katara Just sigh because she could raise anyone's spirits.
Then it was nightfall, the guards were on patrol to prevent anyone from escaping or intruders. The light was rotating to spot anything that moves. Aang was hanging on the ledge and he was looking around to see any guards. He manage to get pass the guards and headed towards the yard everyone was asleep. Katara was sleeping soundly until she felt Aang's hand on her shoulder which she woke up and turned to look at him. He shush her as they made their way towards Sokka, Jessie, and Appa.
"Your twelve hours are up. Where is Haru?" Sokka asked.
"Yeah we've got to get out of here." Jessie said.
"I can't." Katara said.
"We don't have much time. There are guards everywhere. Get on!" Sokka mentioned.
Aang jumped on Appa and looked at Katara.
"Katara, what's wrong?" Aang asked.
"I'm not leaving. I'm not giving up on these people." Katara said.
They all ducked down before the light spotted them.
"What the hell do you mean, you're not leaving?" Jessie asked.
"We can't abandon these people. There has to be a way to help them." Katara said.
"Maybe she's right. What do you say, Sokka?" Aang asked.
Jessie was looking at the Sokka.
'I say you're both crazy." Sokka started.
"Finally, we agree on the same thing." Jessie said.
They avoid the light and Sokka looked at Katara again.
"Last chance. We need to leave now." Sokka said.
"No." Katara answered.
Sokka just sighed because he just gave in to his sister determination.
"I hate when you get like this. Come on, we better hide." Sokka said.
"Are you fucking kidding me?!" Jessie said.
Then both Katara and Sokka grabbed her by her arms and headed inside the prison while Aang went to Appa's ear and whispered something into his ear. Then the Sky bison started to take off into the sky. Two guards came around the corner until one of them saw a shadow of the sky bison.
"Look!"
A few minute later
The warden was looking at the two guards for a moment because they have given their report of their patrols.
"Tell me exactly what you saw." The warden ordered.
"Well sir, it looked like a flying bison."
"What?" The warden asked, getting angry.
"It was a giant, flying buffalo, sir, with an empty saddle."
The warden was getting confused at both of their stories.
"Which was it, a buffalo or a bison?" The warden asked, raising a brow.
"I-I-I'm not sure what the difference is, but that's not really the point, is it, sir?"
"I'll decide what the point is, fool!" The warden said.
Then suddenly the warden threw the soldier overboard as he scream before he landed into the water. (HA! Classic). The other guards was looking over the rail.
"You! Wake up the captain! Search the entire rig!" The Warden ordered.
"Uh sir."
"What?" the warden said.
"That was the captain you just threw overboard, so-" (Hahahahahaha Dumbass!)
"Then wake up someone I haven't thrown overboard and search the rig. There's something going on here, and I don't like it." The warden said.
Momo was looking over the vent and got down. Sokka, Jessie, Aang and Katara were hiding from the guards.
"Okay. We don't have much time. What are you gonna do?" Sokka asked.
"I wish I knew how to make a hurricane." Aang said.
Sokka, Katara and Jessie was looking at him like he was crazy because it was a terrible idea.
"The warden would run away, and we would steal his keys." Aang said.
Jessie palmed her forehead at the terrible plan.
"Wouldn't he just take his keys with him?" Sokka asked.
"I'm just tossing ideas around." Aang said.
"Yeah a dumbass ideas." Jessie said, keeping an eye out for the guards.
"I tried talking the earthbenders into fighting back, but it didn't work. If there was just a way to help them help themselves." Katara said.
"For that they need some kind of earth or some rock, something they can bend." Sokka said.
"But this entire place is made of metal." Katara said, placing her hand over the metal floor.
Anng turned his head for a moment and he saw smoke.
"No, it's not. Look at the smoke." Aang said, point at the smoke. "I bet they're burning coal. In other words...Earth"
The sun was getting ready to rise. Jessie, Katara and Sokka was gathering at a nearby vent. Jessie looked around to see any guards.
"It's almost dawn. We're running out of time." Katara said.
"I'm with Katara on this one, Sokka." Jessie said. "You sure this is gonna work?"
"It should. These vents reminded me of our little trick back at the village." Sokka said.
Jessie sighed as she remember that trick because both Katara and Sokka were bad at acting.
"Don't remind me. You two suck at acting." Jessie mentioned.
Katara shoot her a glance which Jessie looked the other way.
"Anyway, we're gonna do the same thing, but on a much bigger scale. There's a huged deposit of coal at the base of this island. And the whole system is ventilated. Aang closed off all the vents except one. When he does his airbending, the coal only has one placed to go-right back here." Sokka explained.
It was already sunrise and Jessie saw a couple of guards.
"Yeah, we might want to rethink that plan. Look." Jessie said, pointed at the guards.
"There's the intruders!"
Then all the guards surrounded the three water tribe siblings and all three of them stood back to back. Both Jessie and Katara took a waterbender stances while Sokka grabbed his boomerang as the guards pointed their spears at them.
"Stay back. I'm warning you!" Sokka said.
Haru, his father, and the rest of the earthbenders was gathering at the vent.
"Katara, stop! You can't win this fight." Tyro said.
Haru was looking at her and she was looking back at him. Then the warden walked up to the three siblings.
"Listen to him well, child. You're one mistake away from dying where you stand." The warden said.
The guards started moving towards them until suddenly the ground started to shake. Jessie, Katara, and Sokka was looking at the vents for a moment until there was a big burst of coal coming out of the vents.
Haru was look at the pile of coal and Aang came of the vents covering in soot. He started coughing as soot started to come off him. Katara was grabbing a coal and presented it to the Earthbenders.
"Here's your chance, earthbenders! Take it! your fate is in your own hands!" Katara shouted.
Sokka and Jessie both stood back to back glare at the fire nation soldiers. Haru was about to walk forwards without hesitation, but Tyro throws his hand up bracing his son's chest to halt his advances. Then he he shook his head. The warden just laughed at Katara's fail attempt.
"Foolish girl. You through a few inspirational words and some coal would change these people? look at these blank, hopeless faces. their spirits were broken a long time ago. Oh, but you still believed in them." The warden said.
Katara was looking at the earthbenders to see that he was right about them.
"How sweet. They've a waste of your energy, little girl. You failed."
The warden smirk as he walked away but suddenly a flying coal hit the warden in the back of his head. He quickly turned around to see that it was Haru who was earthbending three coals in the air with the twist of his fingers. He was glaring at the warden. The warden firebend at Haru but Haru's father save him in the neck of time which a wall of coal.
The other earthbenders were looking at Tyro. They were surprised to see that he was fighting back against the fire nation. The warden gritted his teeth as he was looking at his men.
"Show no mercy."
He and his troops released a stream of fire towards Tyro. Then two other earth benders join in as the three of them made a wall to block the fire. They were struggling at first because they haven't earth bend in a while.
"For the Earth Kingdom, attack!" Tyro said.
They brought their hands down which send the wave of coals at that warden and his troops. Then all of the earth benders charge towards the troops. An all out brawl begin with a female earthbender earth bend a few coal into the guards face. The other earthbenders earth bend some towards the
Sokka saw some of the soldiers with spear heading towards him. He caught of the spears before cutting it with his machete and tossed it up to Momo who was collecting broken spears from each Fire nation soldiers. Both Haru and Tyro earth bend a stream upward before they both were struggling to harden to merge the coal into the giant coal. The warden and his men were trying this best to hold the earthbenders back.
Then both Haru and Tyro sent the coal turned them which the warden duck as the coal in the metal wall. Some of the soldiers started to fall off the wall. The coal made a giant hole in the wall. The earthbenders cheers at their handywork.
"Get to the ships! We'll hold them off!" Tyro ordered.
Some of the earthbenders were heading towards the hole.
"Don't let them get away."
The fire benders started to shoot fire at the escape prisoners. Aang duck to avoid the fire and he was looking at them. He started to airbend an air cannon as he was looking at his friends.
"Guys, gimme some coal." Aang said.
Sokka, Katara, and Jessie were loading him off with some coals and Sokka overloaded it which Aang started shooting a lot at the fire benders. The warden was hit by some and he dropped to the ground with a groan. He opened one eye to see that some of the coals were being move backward. Tyro, Haru, and the rest of the earthbenders were earthbend the warden and his troops towards the back where the water was.
"Wait...I can't swim."
"Don't worry, I heard that cowards float." Tyro said.
He relax his arms which the coal crumble underneath the warden and his men as they all started fell into the water as they scream.
It didn't took long for several ships were leaving the prison. Appa was swimming through the water. Katara was looking out at Aang playing with Momo. Haru was walking up to her.
"I want to thank you for saving me, for saving the both of us." Haru said.
Tyro walked up to the both of them as he placed his hand on his son's shoulder. He was smiling at Katara.
All it took was a little coal." Katara said, acting modest.
"It wasn't the coal. It was you, Katara." Haru said.
"Thank you for helping me find my courage, Katara of the Water Tribe." Tyro said. "My family and everyone here, owe you and your friends so much."
"So, what are you guys gonna do now? Head back home?" Jessie asked.
"Yes, to take back my village." Tyro said, looking at his fellow earthbenders. "To take back all of our villages! The Fire Nation will regret the day they step foot on our land!" Tyro said.
Eeryone cheer and let out battlecry and Haru looked at Katara.
"Come with us." Haru said.
"I can't. Your mission is to take back your home. Ours is to get Aang to the north pole." Katara said.
Jessie, Katara and Haru turned their heads to look at Aang airbending the coal in the air will Momo was trying to get it.
"That's him isn't it? The Avatar?" Haru asked.
They watched as Aang move the coal and Momo jumped into his arms as he hugged the lemur. The three of them just smiled at the sight.
""Katara, Jessie, thank you both for bringing my father back to me. I never thought that I would see him again. I only wish that there was some way-" Haru said.
"We know." Jessie and Katara said.
Katara placed her hand on the missing necklace until she realize that it was gone as she let a gasped.
"My aunt's necklace. It's gone!" Katara said.
Both Haru and Jessie gasped at the sight.
Back at the Prison
Zuko was found the necklace and picked it up. He looked at it and glared off in the distance. Zaku stood behind him and look at the same direction.

Hey guys and gals, sorry for the longest hiatus and the lack of inspiration for this story and all my previous stories. I am slowly getting back the full feeling from writing them again. But some updates will be slow because of this site glitch BS and Microsoft getting hack. I hope that they will figure something out and fix the problem. So please have patience me on getting some of the stories out.
