Halloween, 1 week later
"Talk about creepy" Kaneki says with an uneasy tone looking at the house before him. He was still dealing with the whole Ghoul Restaurant business that happened a week ago. Kaneki keeps thinking back to the arena with all those Ghouls watching him as if he were nothing but entertainment to them. He'd been scared, but was lucky enough to have gotten help by who he believes was the same one who'd helped Ryouko, Hinami and him during their last encounter with the CCG. Still the whole encounter had been bothering him for days now

"Quit being a baby. It's just a house, not like they'll be any ghosts roaming around inside" Hide, currently dressed up as Zelda, tells his best friend while rolling his eyes

"Sorry for keeping you guys waiting!" the half-ghoul hears a familiar voice as he turns and sees Johnny dressed up as a zombie, his blonde hair all messed up and was wearing a chain wrapped around his chest "Got held up by accident since I forgot I had to do something" he sheepishly says deciding it best to not explain how he'd wanted to have a small drive around, making sure there wasn't anything supernatural roaming the streets

Hide just waved off his apology "Nah, it's cool! We haven't even been here that long anyway. Besides, got to say love the costume. Way better than bookworm over here" he said motioning towards Kaneki, who Johnny noted was wearing a vampire costume still with the eyepatch over his eye and was glaring at his best friend

Johnny rolled his eyes at their antics. Hide had come the other day suggesting they all head over to the old creepy abandoned haunted house over near the 16th ward. Johnny had actually agreed fast with the idea, who wouldn't want a good scare after all?

He just hoped he'd get the chance to have a normal Halloween and not end up dealing with anything supernatural for once... Who was he kidding, this year would most likely end up like last year where he had to deal with both Jack O'lantern and Nightmare. That was not a team up he'd like to encounter any time soon. Though, he had to admit it had been amusing how a couple of kids had gone up to him still in Ghost Rider form and asked about his costume. Had he been human at the time he would've laughed. Besides the kids had a great time trick-or-treating with him after he decided to stick with them and helping them get tons of candy

Still the young motorcyclist didn't know what it was about Halloween, but it had always been his favourite holiday, not counting Christmas of course, to celebrate. Sometimes he wondered if his love for the spooky day had something to do with him hosting a Spirit of Vengeance, before remembering that he'd love Halloween before even making the deal with Mephisto. Maybe Zarathos just increased his feelings surrounding the day since he was pretty sure the demon seemed to enjoy this time of year just as much as he did. Johnny would never admit it, but it was nice to have a day where he could be in Ghost Rider form and not have people look at him with fear or run away screaming

Lightning suddenly flashed in the sky as the house was illuminated. Kaneki looked nervously at the creepy old house. Both Hide and Johnny on the other hand were unaffected by this as they walked up to the door while Kaneki trailed behind them

Things got more interesting as soon as they got inside the house. For starters the doors suddenly closed on their own. The lights were flickering on and off. Glitter suddenly rained down on Johnny and a creepy laugh echoed throughout the house with footsteps being heard

Kaneki was inching towards the door, only to find it locked as his eyes widened in disbelief. This could not be happening. Ghosts weren't real!

"Umm is it just me or did it get colder all of the sudden?" Hide asked as Johnny narrowed his eyes. This had supernatural creature written all over it. Question was... who or what could it be?

'And here I thought I'd get to enjoy a normal Halloween for once' Johnny sighs, looking around for any sort of disturbance

'When have you ever had a normal Halloween?' Johnny decided to ignore Zarathos before he suddenly heard Kaneki shout and his eyes widened at seeing the half-ghoul suddenly pinned to the ceiling with fear on his face. Next thing he knew, the former stunt rider found himself pushed aside by an invisible force 'Seems whoever is doing this is blocking my ability to alert you to their presence'

'Now you tell me! ' Johnny angrily says as he grabbed the chain around his chest. He suddenly felt glad he decided to listen when Zarathos told him to bring a weapon with him. Johnny couldn't exactly use all his powers in this situation since neither Kaneki nor Hide knew the truth unfortunately

Having his eyes land on a bag of discarded salt, Johnny stood up and threw the bag into the air as salt rained down. Kaneki was released as he dropped down from the ceiling hard. Hide was rubbing the salt from his hair as he made his way over towards Kaneki and Johnny

"How'd you know salt would work?" Hide asked in awe, watching Johnny help Kaneki back onto his feet "Thought you were a record breaking stunt performer, not a supernatural hunter" the blonde continued in a joking tone

"I studied the occult when I was younger. Picked up a few tricks here and there on how to deal with the supernatural" Johnny says with a shrug. It was times like this he was actually thankful he had knowledge on the occult. During situations in which he found himself unable to use his powers, it helped to know how to deal with ghosts and stuff the old fashioned way "We better keep on moving. The salt only repelled the ghosts away... who knows what else we might be dealing with"

Kaneki and Hide didn't need anymore said as they were just as eager to get out of this horror show. The blonde university student was starting to regret even suggesting this whole thing. Had he known there would be an actual ghost or whatever it was haunting this place... he would never have suggested coming here

Opening another door, the trio looked inside and each had their eyes wide in disbelief. The whole room was a bloody mess, various organs and limbs lying around. Kaneki felt he was going to be sick as he pulled away from the sight. Hide pulled away as soon as he saw Kaneki and rubbed the half-ghoul's back in an attempt to help calm him

Johnny on the other hand narrowed his eyes at the sight as he felt his eyes light up with fire. Whether these were humans or ghouls, they didn't deserve this. It took all his willpower not to transform and hunt the one responsible for causing this

Just as Johnny was going to head over to his two friends, a wall appeared out of nowhere separating Johnny from both teens. He could hear both Hide and Kaneki shouting his name as Johnny turned around slowly, narrowing his eyes as he could feel something further down the hall, yet make out what it was "Kaneki, Hide, don't look back and run. Head for the exist while I deal with this"

"That's suicide Johnny! Look I get you seem to be an expert dealing with this, but there is no way we are leaving you here!" Kaneki shouted with panic but Johnny ignored him in favor of rushing down the hallway

Maybe charging in without a definite plan wasn't the brightest idea for him. Still at least he was able to get into a secluded area where he would be able to use his powers without worry of being seen by anyone

"Johnny Blaze, I believe" said a voice as Johnny wasted no time and wrapped his chain around the skeletal figure before him, allowing a bit of hellfire to run down the metal chain and eyes glowing an amber hue "Before you ask, Ghost Rider, I'm here to spread some Halloween spirit to those who step into this house"

Johnny tighten his hold on the chain "You killed innocents! Teared them apart and ripped their souls! I know who you are, you're a Grim Reaper. Some call you an angel of death, that's how you were able to summon the ghosts to throw me off. I should have known there was something weird going on when Zarathos couldn't sense you"

"Bravo Johnny Blaze! Never took you to be a smart one. Perhaps everyone is wrong in underestimating you. Well look at the time, I best be off to go and have some fun with the other souls who dare enter my domain"

The cloaked figure tried to move, but found he couldn't as he's suddenly pulled closer towards Johnny "Who says you could leave without paying for those souls you took. Since you know about me, you must know I'm considered the Spirit of Vengeance and these souls will get their vengeance"

Outside Kaneki and Hide stood looking for any sign of Johnny when the house suddenly blew up, fire surrounding the place "Johnny!" they shouted in worry before seeing a figure holding a black cloak slowly making their way out of the fire. Soon it's revealed the figure is none other then the blonde haired motorcyclist after tossing the black fabric off "Hide, no more haunted house adventures in the near future"

Hide just nods, though can't help but wonder just what it was that happened while Johnny had been inside. Still this was sure a night to remember for both Hide and Kaneki. For Johnny though, he wondered just what else might be in store for him if the supernatural had decided to come to Tokyo

Hey guys! So we're moving slightly away from the anime and decided to make this a Halloween chapter! Yes, I'm taking a page from Marvel and making this my own Halloween special chapter ^^ Also, I might have taken elements from SPN with how to deal with ghosts :p Also I made it so Zarathos can't sense Grim Reapers or at least can hide their presence from him. BTW sorry if the chapter was rushed or terrible. Trial and error, right?
