Chapter 10: The Big News

"Do you see anything yet?" Maka asked for what Soul could probably guess was the billionth time already as they sat in the living room.

"Nope." Soul casually replied as he kept trying to play his video games, but that was getting really difficult with Maka asking him that same question over and over like a broken record.

The Death Scythe wore an orange T-shirt and brown cargo pants as he lounged on the couch, while his meister wore a pink tank top and light blue jeans with her hair let loose as they were relaxing in the living room to enjoy their day off, but quite frankly with the current circumstances, that made the anticipation swirling around the atmosphere of the house more palpable by the hour.

"You aren't even bothering to look at the door." Maka accused with a furrowed brow as she noticed her death scythe's red eyes hadn't even glanced away from the screen and to his left.

"Maka you gotta chill out, already. I get the anticipation must be killing you, but the results aren't just conveniently going pop up like magic either." Soul told his impatient meister. "I don't even know why you're still concerned in the first first place. We blasted through that test like it was nothing, so it's almost assured we're getting in."

"I know, I know, but that's what's also making me so excited. The results could be coming any day now and I don't want to miss it when they arrive." Maka replied and decided to look over the couch to see if some sort of letter had been put into the door slot.

But there was nothing.

Maka released a sigh and sat back down. The meister reopening the book she was reading and hoped she could try to distract herself but that was proving harder than she hoped.

It's been a week since they took the entrance exams, but so far, they've heard little to nothing regarding their results. They most likely passed the written exams-but they all knew the real deciding factor was their final score in the practical portion. But at this point the anticipation was starting to become unbearable. She wanted to see how they did already!

"Trust me Maka, I hear ya. But it's not like we're the only ones waiting for their exam results either." Soul said casually while he kept played his game.

"That's true. It could be they're still trying to reach all the applicants, given how many people came." Maka conceded as she flipped to the next page of her book. There were probably hundreds who came a week ago, so it was more than likely they were still swamped trying to reach out to the remaining examinee's left.

"I'm just wondering how long Izuku can take waiting at this point. The poor dude looks ready to pass out any day now." Soul remarked.

"Well what do you expect?" Maka retorted. "Izuku had it really rough in the practical exam compared to us. And now the week is almost over he's probably even more anxious than he's been lately. He must be terrified to see what his results are."

Ever since the entrance exams, Izuku had been rather quiet in the past week-which wasn't a bad thing per se, but Maka couldn't help but be worried for her friend at times whenever she found her moss haired friend staring off into space during class or muttering nervously to himself. These were all symptoms originating from the thick sheet of nervousness and anxiety that had been coating his poor soul wavelength like a veil and it hadn't changed much since then.

"Eh, I think Izuku honestly takes second place in that category, at least compared to Crona over there." Soul mentioned and both he and Maka glanced at the left corner of the living room besides the TV. And just like it had been since this morning and the day before, it was practically overflowing with an aura of pure, unadulterated gloom as thick as a brick wall. The source of this miserable atmosphere belonging to none other than Crona who continued to remain curled up in his fetal position in the hopes of hiding himself from the rest of the world.

"Why is it taking this long? Did I do something wrong in those exams? I must've, didn't I? I should've known I would end up screwing up somehow." Crona kept muttering his despairing thoughts to himself while hiding his face within his legs.

"Right…" Maka sweatdropped at the sword meister sitting in his corner and continue drowning in his own trepidations over the exam results.

It hadn't been so bad for the first few days after they took it. A bit antsy but when it came to Crona that was normal, more or less. But as the week progressed his anxiety over his performance only worsened to the point he would frequently just sit in the corners of his room after school. It was actually a miracle they were even able to get Crona to stay in the living room instead of sulking around in his room again. But it doesn't look like it changed much.

"Man, is he still panicking to himself?" Soul complained, as the gloomy atmosphere emitting from Crona was starting to get uncool. "So are you sure you don't want me to whack him in the head or something? Maybe it'll get him out of his funk."

"Hell no, are you crazy? I told you for the fifth time already that isn't happening." Maka firmly scolded the death scythe for that ridiculous suggestion. What was he a brute?

"Oh so it's fine when you decide to bash my skull in with your Maka chops out of nowhere?"

"Well you only have yourself to blame for that." Maka huffed back. "But you got to take it easy on Crona. Unlike you or me, this is the first time he's ever dealt with an event like this. Maybe you can be carefree about waiting, but It's a new experience for Crona."

Sure, Crona had already taken several tests during their enrollment in Aldera, but even the mild pressure of studying and preparing for wether or not he got a decent grade made the sword meister jittery to some degree. So just imagine how much that anxiety would intensify for taking the entrance exams to supposedly the most prestigious hero academy in the country?

"Doesn't make it any less of a pain to deal with." Soul grumbled before getting promptly "lightly" kicked in the side by an annoyed Maka. "Sonnuva-! Alright, alright, I get it."

"Hmph." But before their conversation could continue any further, Rumi wearing some casual clothes, walked down the stairs to the living room. "Oh, hey there Rumi. Did you finish all that paperwork already?"

"Ugh yeah, but not soon enough," Rumi groaned before allowing herself to stretch after forcing herself to sit in that accursed desk for the past hour. "I was starting to get halfway tempted to just rush out of there and go run around a couple cities and stretch my legs. God, I hate sitting around doing nothing."

"Cmon Rumi you can't just avoid your other responsibilities because they're boring. Trust me you don't want to be a slacker like this guy here." Maka said while pointing to her weapon.

"Oi!" Soul barked, but Maka paid no mind to him.

"You're kidding, right? Why the heck would I want to sit around all the time doing that boring ass work I can deal with any other day of the week instead of the job that lets me kick ass?" Mirko said with her bunny ears perked up, finding that far more engaging than writing her signature for the zillionth time on some piece of paper.

"Is that the only thing that goes through your head? Gosh, sound just like this dummy I know back in Shibusan." Maka remarked as the parallels between Rumi and that musclehead were eerily similar.

"Heh, well he sounds like a fun guy to hang around with." Rumi grinned in intrigue.

"I guess you could say that. You definitely would've gotten along." Soul added but knew it was more likely Mirko would've been butting heads with his old pal all the time if they ever met. What else could you expect when putting two people who think with pride and muscles in the same room?

"I still think you shouldn't disregard the rest of your duties as a hero. It sounds to me they're just as important as running around Japan and pummeling villains." Maka retorted, as she would've gladly been responsible enough to take responsibility for both fronts of the job.

"Well sorry to break it to ya Maka, but not everyone is a bookworm who prefers to spending all their time reading and doing a bunch of boring office work all day. Sometimes you gotta fit in the fun things in life." Soul said with a sharp grin.

"I do fun stuff too." Maka said with a pout as she kept her eyes on her book.

"Maybe, but it doesn't hurt to do a bit more." Mirko added with a shrug before focusing her large bunny ears to try hearing anything from down the hallway. But met only silence. "Dammit, nothing yet?"

"Nope." Maka sighed out, sharing the same disappointment with the bunny hero. "We haven't heard a peep since this morning either."

"Tch, well don't worry about it, even if U.A is taking their sweet ass time, those results are coming sooner or later. You were probably the first ones on their list after they saw you beat their test without breaking a sweat." Rumi assured the trio with full confidence lining her words.

"Thanks, but Soul and I were just lucky enough to be paired together. Otherwise, that whole practical exam might've gotten pretty hairy if we ended up getting split up." Maka admitted, knowing just how badly their capabilities would've been crippled if they couldn't fight in unison.

"Though I still gotta wonder how that came about." Soul remarked before glancing at the bunny hero innocently whistling with her hands behind her head.

"Who knows?" Rumi shrugged casually, yet the scythe pair already put the dots together a while ago and knew she must've had a hand in it. "But now that I think about it, where the heck is Crona? Don't tell me he's locked up in his room and moping around again."

"More like he's decided to move out and do all that over there." Soul said and gesture with his head to Crona sitting in his corner.

"Oh you gotta be shitting me!" Rumi said exasperatedly, before walking behind the couch and standing a few feet away from the gloomy sword meister. "Cmon man, this is getting ridiculous! I'm getting sick of seeing you curled up in some corner like some scared puppy and acting like it's the end of the world for ya."

"B-But I don't know if I can handle waiting anymore. It's too much pressure. I thought it would be okay like you and Maka have been telling me, but I can't help but worry what could be coming through the door." Crona replied nervously.

"For the love of-! Ugh kid, you gotta pull yourself together. You're driving yourself crazy over nothing." Rumi retorted incredulously, feeling halfway tempted to smack some sense to the young and anxious meister. "You got no reason to be acting so anxious after how well you performed."

But soon enough, Ragnarök came out from Crona's back to unfortunately add his input. "And who's to thank for that, huh? This ungrateful brat hasn't even bothered thanking me for helping you pass your pussy exam!" The demon sword said angrily and started giving his merged partner a hard whack on the boy's crown.

"Ow! Hey stop it, you're hurting me!" Crona recoiled as the plushie weapon's fist dug into the top of his skull like a small mallet before managing to push it away with enough strength. "I'm s-sorry about that Ragnarök, I should've done so sooner. I-It's just that my mind has been all over the place l-lately."

"Oh cry me a fucking river. You want to bitch and whine, be my guest, but don't think for a second, you're jibbing me from my cake!" Ragnarök exclaimed furiously before swinging around and throwing an accusatory finger at Rumi. "So where is it you bunny! If you even think about backstabbing me, then you better get ready for a world of hurt!"

Rumi however was more or less unimpressed by the tiny creature's threats and stared at the sword flatly. "Yeah, yeah you're getting it ya damn glutton, but only after those results come in and I see you earned it, so quit harping me about it."

"And for the record, I'll kick your ass to kingdom come if you try anything that stupid. So good luck with that you overgrown pile of tar." Rumi added with a challenging grin, as Ragnarök had an angry vein bulge on his ball shaped head.

"You cocky bitch! You're so lucky I'm stuck in this puny form, otherwise I would've ground you to dust if I was back to my badass self!" Ragnarök ranted off while furiously waving his balled fists, but everyone around him found it annoying than actually intimidating.

"Don't pay him any mind, Rumi. He usually tires himself out after a couple minutes." Maka waved it off before leaning on the arm of the sofa to look at Crona. "But she isn't wrong Crona. I know your nervous, but you're not the only one. Believe it or not I am too."

"Y-You are?" Crona asked, finally turning his head up from his knees, not expecting Maka of all people to be even the slightest bit nervous.

Maka nodded. "Of course I am. To be honest I'm just hoping I managed to get a perfect score on the written exam and not end up messing up my academic record."

"That's your biggest concern?" Rumi, Ragnarök and Soul all said flatly in unison. She's currently expecting her results from taking the practical exam of the biggest hero school in the country, and she's worried about that measly written portion?

Talk about winning the bookworm of the year award.

"What?" Maka tilted her head curiously, innocently unaware of why everyone was looking at her like she had two heads after saying that.

"And you don't wanna be called boring?" Soul said with a good dose of sarcasm in his tone, only to earn a kick from the ash blonde as he slammed her foot into the side of his stomach.

"Ow! Grgh, alright I get the message." Soul grumbled, as Maka kept giving him a stink eye before turning back to Crona.

"But regardless, that doesn't make me any less eager to finally see them since I know how awesome we were." Yet Crona still looked befuddled, before the ash blonde continued. "And yes, that includes you dummy. So just try to relax a little, like Rumi's telling you and not be so afraid over this kind of stuff." Maka giggled the last part out.

Crona blinked before contemplating his friend's assurances before after a few moments looked back at Maka with a somewhat calmer expression. "O-Okay, I'll try. But this still feels so overwhelming. Why didn't anyone tell me living this kind of lifestyle would make me this anxious?"

"Welcome to the grind, my friend. That's just how ordinary life is. It can be a pain in the ass at times, but it ain't the worst either. But once we start going to U.A, things can finally spice up around here." Soul told the sword meister, hoping maybe his input can get Crona out of gloomville already and finally start to calm.

"Oh yeah, cause some of us would love to spend every day now at some school where goody two shoe elite brats come to play dress up. Ugh, I feel sick just thinking about it." Ragnarök mockingly gagged in disgust at the idea of the hero school, as everyone threw annoyed glares at the imp. "At least that pansy academy Shibusan let me eat souls-even if it was the ones on their stupid list-but now I'm stuck going to another one and abide to some moral hero crap!"

"Well you're doing something productive instead of running your fat mouth and bitching all day long." Rumi scoffed, growing already tired of that creature's obnoxious opinions. "But you better keep that soul snacking appetite in check, I don't know if you can actually do that here, and quite frankly, I don't want to find out."

"I mean Maka could see souls so it's pretty likely the blob and I can eat the souls of anyone here." Soul added onto the conversation yet noticing Rumi's suspicious and almost unnerved look, let out a sigh. "Hey relax Rumi, you don't have to worry about me eating some poor sucker's soul. I don't really need to do that anymore since I became a Death Scythe. I've achieved my peak so to speak."

"That doesn't mean there's still room for improvement though." Maka chided, since Soul still had a long road ahead to becoming a veteran death scythe.

They surpassed Spirit for achieving a weapon that could pierce the kishin, but it wouldn't hurt to try going beyond; if it meant becoming even greater badasses when they returned to kick that cowardly demon god.

"Oh be smug all you want punks! When I get this twerp to start feeding me souls again and become one of those death scythe's, I'll make ya grovel at my feet!" Ragnarök boasted with a wide grin, already looking forward to that day he could put the cow's puny weapon in his place!

"But you don't even have feet…" Crona said.

"It was a figure of speech moron!" Ragnarök snapped back and whacked his partner on the head again.

"Just ignore him, the more you feed into his rants the worse he'll get." Maka waved off the demon sword's mouth with Crona silently nodding.

"Excuse me!? I'm still here you dipshits! Hey cow, I'm talking to you!" Ragnarök exclaimed and tried to get a response, but with a huff Maka remained silent as did Crona.

Crona understood that Ragnarök was the kind of person that fed off attention for his boorish actions, and Iwata had already explained that if negotiating wouldn't work to appease him, then it was best to ignore his demon weapon altogether when he got too wild. A risky move, since it also made him angrier, but after five minutes or so would get tired and slither back. But that was only if he wasn't provoked further.

"In your dreams slimeball. You lost all the souls you gobbled up before coming to this place, and even if you still had them, witches don't exist here to complete the process. So good luck trying." Soul snarked.

"You wanna go, ya smug prick!?" Ragnarök yelled back as angry vein's bulged throughout his round head.

"Bring it on. But I doubt you could even throw a good punch, but maybe mine can give you a few good pointers." Soul said as he be more than happy to get that loudmouth to shut up.

"Alright that's enough, numbskulls. You want to fight, take it downstairs and not my living room." Rumi put a screeching halt to the sparking fight between the demon weapons. As much as she liked a good fight, that didn't mean these kids could turn her living room into a makeshift arena.

"But now that I think about it, is that really all it takes to become one of those Death Scythe's you keep throwing around?"

"Pretty much, once a demon weapon eats ninety nine evil souls placed on Lord Death's list we'd pursue a witch to complete the whole evolution." Soul remarked and to show off a little summoned a small sickle from his back. "Pretty sick, huh?"

"Uh, yeah I guess." Rumi replied slowly with a raised brow from that grisly summary of that whole level up process.

Was that the main role of these meister's. Hunt down anyone on this death guy's shit list and put em down like some rabid dog? All with the incentive of a major power up after doing that for basically a hundred times? They sound more like judge, jury and executioner all at once. And that EAT class let them do all that way earlier if they were talented enough to do the job? At first, she thought it ran sorta like hero agency internships for promising students, but apparently, she was way off the mark.

'These meister's are starting to sound more like the reaper's personal foot soldiers than anything else.' Rumi remarked in her head, feeling a tad uneasy about how the grim reaper ran his schools.

Then again, she had to cope with the fact the grim fucking reaper existed to begin with; which made her legitimately question every single religion when learning an actual god existed. Needless to say, it was a rough first few months coping with that bombshell on top of the of the three others living in her own home.

"It's a bit more complicated than that, but until recently, that system was necessary to maintain order in our world." Maka said without hesitation, knowing between the chaos lusting witches and malevolent individuals to warrant execution, Shibusan had to do whatever it can for peace and order under Lord Death.

"If you say so. I can't say I'm a hundred percent with your reaper's methods but it ain't my place to start judging. Just don't forget that working to be a hero and being a meister are two different things at the end of the day." Mirko told the ash blonde teen, wanting to make sure the message got through to them.

"Of course they are, hut I'm sure they're still similar enough. And even if being a hero is different, it's still pretty cool to see what is in store for us." Maka replied with an optimistic smile, before deciding to stand up from the couch and stretched a little. "But I think I'm about done sitting here and waiting. Say Crona, how about we go downstairs and train for a little while? It could help us get our minds off those exam results, at least for now."

Crona turned his ebon eyes to Maka and tilted his head. "Are you sure? Do I have to use Ragnarök?"

"Oh hell yeah that's what I'm talking about! Please say yes! Nothing would make me happier than beating your sorry ass, and this time your daddy ain't here to save you from getting a good beatdown." Ragnarök said with battle hungry glee, yet Crona showing minor surprise in his face that his weapon actual remembered that moment.

"Trust me, I don't need him to shut you up," Maka clicked her tongue before looking back at Crona. "And it won't be anything like a legitimate fight with our weapons. It'll just be some exercise and practicing some attacks for an hour or less. So what do you say?"

"O-Okay, I guess it wouldn't hurt." Crona replied.

"Ugh, are you shitting me? Fine, at least it beats sitting here listening to your bitching." Ragnarök groaned before slithering back into his meister's bloodstream.

"Well hope you guys have fun. I'll just stick around here and enjoy the rest of my lazy Sunday." Soul remarked, yet before he could continue playing his games felt a pair of fingers grab his ear and started pulling it.

"Nice try buddy. But you're coming too." Maka said with a flat look on her face, while Soul tried prying her fingers off his stretching left ear. "Do you really think I'm gonna let you sit here and be a couch potato all day?"

"For Death's sake Maka, it's a Sunday!" Soul retorted irritably, but his meister wasn't budging in the slightest. "I've been working all week between those exams and the homework dished out to me lately. I think I earned some time off!"

"I've given you all morning and a good chunk of the afternoon today. I think that more than qualifies as enough relaxation time. Besides, it'll do you some good to get those muscles moving for a little while. Then you can go back to playing your noisy video games." Maka replied firmly and started dragging off Soul downstairs.

"Cmon Rumi help me out here." Soul urged the bunny woman to give him an escape route out of this mess, but the heroine simply shrugged.

"Don't look at me. I ain't getting in the middle of that whole mess with your pal there. Plus, I don't think it'll kill ya to move a bit instead of lazing around the couch. If there's one thing, I hate is people who sit around and do nothing instead of doing something productive." Rumi said with a sarcastic smile, much to Soul's dismay to know there was no getting out of this.

"Goddamnit." Soul muttered in defeat.

"Quite whining, Soul. Don't you want to get strong enough to beat her one day?" Maka reminded her death scythe, who when seeing the bunny woman cross her arms and wore a shit eating grin on her face, felt a fire spark inside his soul wavelength.

"Alright, you make a good point." Soul conceded, as he was still vying to get back at the top seventh hero for all the humiliating defeats be endured.

"Don't I always?" Maka smiled proudly, before looking back at Crona. "Are you coming, Crona?"

"Oh, sure." Crona said and stood up from his corner and started following Maka.

'Thank god, I thought he was gonna stay rooted to that damn corner for the rest of the day.' Mirko released a small breath out of relief. Here she thought she was going to have to pry him out of there herself, but thankfully Maka managed to get through to him.

However just as the trio were about to head downstairs both they and Rumi froze in place the second they heard the sound of the mail slot opening from down the hall and something getting slipped inside.

"Is that what I-" But Soul couldn't even finish what he was about to say as Mirko immediately zoomed through the hallway at speeds to make a cheetah jealous, before in a literal second, skidded back to the living room with something in her right hand. But before they can ask what, started to hear the rabbit heroine laughing proudly.

"About damn time!" Rumi laughed out of her boisterous grin and her bunny ears shot up in excitement.

"Is it really here!?" Maka exclaimed as her alongside Crona and Soul's eyes were glued to the white envelope held in the older woman's hand.

"You got that right!" Rumi raised her hand up and presented the letter written with "U.A high school" plastered on its front side to the three teens. "What did I tell ya guys, I told you this letter would come sooner or later."

Maka immediately took the letter from Rumi's hand and held it in both her hands as Soul and Crona looked over her shoulders to see it themselves.

"So, this is really it?" Soul said as he examined the letter with a brow risen in curiosity. "And here I thought it be flashier than some plain old letter."

"But why is there only o-one letter? Does that mean only one of us p-p-passed?" Crona said with trepidation flowing into his expression as he feared the worst. Does that mean he really failed then?

"Hey relax Crona, there's no need to panic. For all we know, all our result sheets are inside this envelope." Maka suggested as she looked it over, even though she was also worried as to why only a single letter came.

"Wouldn't it look more crammed then?" Soul added, much to his meister's chagrin.

"Not helping, Soul." Maka grumbled yet knew her death scythe had a point, since she felt there was little contained inside the envelope.

As much as Maka was trying to block it out, she still felt a slither of nervousness wrap around her chest; slowly spreading to the rest of her body as she kept holding this little letter in her hands. All she needed to do was tear it open and see what was inside, but a part of her was hesitant to do so. Dammit why was she getting cold feet all of a sudden?! It wasn't like she was about to open Pandora's box and witness all hell breaking loose. Besides there's no way she or her friends after training and studying their butts off for all these months.

She just should just open the letter and hope for the best…

"Well none of us are gonna find out what's inside, if you keep standing around here like a statue. So why don't I do the honors?" Soul said before he snatched the letter from Maka's hands.

"Hey!" Maka spun around and tried grabbing the letter back, but her weapon kept evading her attempts. "Give it back Soul, I wanted to open it!" Maka said and started chasing Soul around the living room until the duo ended up running upstairs, as Crona and Mirko had stood watching the whole scene.

"Should I follow them?" Crona asked with bewilderment lining his tone and expression.

"Eh, why not." Rumi shrugged with a smirk before gesturing with a nod up the stairs. "Now get going before those knuckleheads open the letter before you can make it."

"But don't you want to come see our results too?" Crona asked.

Rumi sighed and crossed her arms. "One hand I'm dying to know myself, but my guts telling me this is something you kids should hear for yourselves. But either way, I think I'll be able to catch a good chunk of the news." Rumi said as her large bunny ears twitched to emphasize her point. "Just promise me you'll tell me any details I miss, got it?"

Crona didn't say anything, just giving a small nod as he quickly headed upstairs to follow Maka and Soul as they chased each other down the hallway. Yet the scythe pair had already reached the upper floor, yet Maka had soon managed to get close enough to Soul to grab back the letter before making a sharp turn to her room. "Hah, take that! Now quit acting so childish and let me open the letter before we waste any more time."

"Like your one to talk. I would've just opened it already and called it a day." Soul retorted as he entered Maka's room.

"And risk you tearing our letter all up? Yeah, no thanks." Maka scoffed, since she knew how Soul could be like an excited kid tearing into a Christmas present when it came to opening up packages. Both due to hastiness and occasionally using his scythes to tear a particularly sealed box.

To this day she still doesn't fully trust him after he nearly damaged her copy of the Hobbit when she was too busy with homework to get it herself.

Yet soon enough, Crona finally arrived upstairs and caught up with the duo as he stood by Maka's door. "Oh, there you two are. Did any of you open the letter yet?"

"No, but I'm about to now." Maka replied and walked towards her desk and sat down in the chair as she prepared to open the envelope. Crona and Soul quickly strode to Maka's side as they waited in anticipation to learn their results.

Maka took a quick breath and softly exhaled before she tore the letter. But surprisingly enough, not only did a few papers fall out, but alongside them was a small metallic disc that fell out of the envelope and onto the the smooth surface of Maka's desk. The trio blinked in surprise by the unexpected contents before immediately flinching back as beam of light erupted from the center of the small device and formed into a wide screen of light. Yet before they could think further about it, the screen soon started the recording with an unexpected voice.

"Greetings!" A man with a wide and proud grin exclaimed, causing the three teens to jump slightly from the face popping on the screen from the start. "That's right, I'm here as, talking to all of you as a projection! Pretty neat, huh?"

"We can see that,." Soul remarked flatly, but soon the death scythe widened his eyes as he started to realize something very familiar about that beaming smile plastered on the dude's face. "Hang on a sec, isn't that…"

"Holy crap, is that really Allmight!?" Maka cut off her partner, as the trio stared at the projection in utter shock to see none other than the number one hero himself.

"Wait, do y-you mean that famous hero Izuku admires so much?" Crona muttered in stunned shock himself, his eyes wide as dinner plates as he tried to comprehend the fact that the most popular hero in this country was on this recording. "I don't understand, what is someone like Allmight doing here?"

"That's…a good question." Soul admitted, as even he was a little lost as to what the heck was going on.

"Hahaha! Now with pleasantries out of the way, I'm already imagining you all must be shocked to see me here of all places. But guess what? You're three are going to be even more astonished to learn I'm not simply here as a special guest. After all, I wouldn't want to be rude and not introduce myself, since I'm officially the latest staff member at U.A academy!"

"What!?" Maka, Soul and Crona collectively blurted out and felt their eyes nearly ready to pop out of their heads once they're ear's registered that last sentence.

They all heard the same story that U.A was the most popular and possibly best hero school in the whole nation, Like Rumi and Izuku had been telling them. So, they had grown to expect that U.A would have some of the most elite teachers and programs available. After all that was the same case with The Shibusan academies back in their world, with teachers like Sid and Stein filling the role as mentors to their EAT class students. But even with those expectations, neither Soul or Maka and especially Crona could've imagined the best hero in the world would become one of their teachers to guide them all to become heroes.

It was surreal to say the least. Though Maka could only imagine how Izuku, who was practically the guy's biggest fan, must be reacting to this news.

"Huh what's that…I need to get on with it? We're on a tight schedule, you say? Oh right, I understand." Allmight muttered as he leaned over to somebody who whispered into his ear, before moving back to the center of the stage. "Alrighty then, onto the matter hand! But I must say, you kids made quite the stir in the practical exam. Now thankfully all three of you did decently on the written exam, though Soul it appears you're the lowest with barely reaching a C."

"Dammit Soul, I told you to try studying an extra night before the exams." Maka scolded her weapon, who merely rolled his eyes in response.

"I already forced myself to study for an entire week as it is. What more do you want out of me? Besides it's not like that written test even matters in the grand scheme of things. Except for bookworms like you of course." Soul muttered that last part under his breath.

"Excuse me?" Maka narrowed her eyes yet couldn't speak further as the recording continued.

"But you don't need to worry too much about Evan's, since the written exam doesn't really have as much impact on your overall scores compared to the practical portion." Allmight informed the three teens watching.

Soul immediately let his stretch into a smug smile as he was immediately proven right. By the strongest hero in japan no less! Yet Maka didn't say anything and merely and crossed her arms and pouted in her chair.

"And I must say, you three blew our expectations out of the water when we saw you all in action! Between your awesome fighting capabilities and unique usage of your quirks, each of you easily caught our attention." Allmight declared with the same beaming smile, and clearly meant every word of it.

"Starting with you young Maka and Soul, you two especially intrigued everyone with the way you seamlessly worked together in the exam. Some were admittedly skeptical by this unconventional approach to using your quirks; but teamwork has and always will be an important element when it comes to being a hero, and you two proved it in spades."

"So, to keep things fair since this was a team effort, we decided to split your whooping eighty villain point score between the both of you!"Allmight grinned.

"Eighty villain points!?" Maka repeated in surprise, and almost stood up from her chair.

She had even tried calculated what their score's roughly were but from what she could remember, at best she got maybe forty tops. But there was no way she was going to look this gift horse in the mouth, either as a smile soon curled into a beaming smile.

"What did I tell you? I knew we were going nail ourselves an epic villain point score." Soul let his lips split into a wide smile of his own at the sight of their accomplishment. Until he realized one little detail they were overlooking. "But wait a sec, doesn't that mean our score is split into forty each?"

"Well yeah, but it's not a big deal. Those are still awesome scores to have!" Maka replied while undeterred by that technicality since it was something they both accomplished together.

"Fair enough, but I don't think your gonna like this…" Soul mentioned as he pointed to the scoreboard, Maka looked back and unfortunately saw that Katsuki Bakugo's score right above their own score.

"Ugh, are you kidding me?" Maka groaned in disappointment, as her good mood was quickly getting dampened by this unfortunate news. "Of all the people to beat us it just had to be Bakugo."

"Well that's just fantastic." Soul clicked his tongue in sarcasm and evident disappointment as apparently that explosive dude got over seventy seven villain points. Which was begrudgingly pretty impressive, all things considered.

Guess they must've underestimated Bakugo. Then again, it be pretty shortsighted to assume he wouldn't also be training for the exams. Especially with Maka kicking his ass all the time, adding more fuel to the fire. But the fact that guy beat them by seven points still managed to irk the death scythe.

Soul glanced at Maka who's expression became muddled with dissatisfaction to know that bully Bakugo actually topped them. But like hell he was going to let Maka stay down on the dumps. "Hey, don't start looking all gloomy on me Maka. Even if Bakugo beat us here, that just gives us motivation to work harder for next time, right?"

Maka only blinked at first, before soon letting her face relax into a smile and nodded. "You bet. Even if that jerk tries to rub this in our faces, we'll be sure to wipe it off as soon as it comes."

"That's what I'm talking about." Soul smiled at his meister's robust optimism.

Admittedly it still sucked that Katsuki was able to beat their villain point score, but she was more than ready to work as hard as possible to get stronger and beat Katsuki again when the chance pops up. And she knew without a doubt, Soul was having the same line of thinking.

"As for you Crona Gorgon, you did fantastic! Admittedly you were a bit too destructive here and there, but it's not everyday someone comes into the exam and managed to eliminate nearly half of the villain bots in their exam site. Be proud lad, cause you more than earned first place, with a grand total of ninety villain points!" Allmight then gestured with his hand to the digital screen behind him, which now displayed Crona's name and score on top of all the others.

However, the young meister in question merely stared at the projection with wide eyes as he processed this astonishing information. Quite frankly he couldn't figure out what to think about his apparently impressive score besides astonishment.

He…he really got ninety villain points? Admittedly he never kept track of all the villain bots he destroyed, and Ragnarök had already thoroughly chewed him out for that blunder, but even he never imagined getting that kind of score.

Was that a good thing?

Yet before he could think any further, Crona found himself getting tackled into a strong hug by none other than Maka. "Oh my gosh, Crona that's amazing! You did even better than I thought you would!"

"Uh, t-thanks Maka." Crona said meekly while beginning to blush in embarrassment by this attention. He honestly didn't know what else to say, but was at least glad Maka was happy about his score for some reason.

"Not too shabby dude, I figured you were gonna rock from the get-go, but you actually surpassed my expectations a little." Soul replied with a small grin.

"It wasn't too impressive, I just destroying those robots like they told me to." Crona replied, and was actually worried he hadn't gathered enough, but at least those fears were unwarranted.

"But wait, there's more!" Maka, Soul and Crona immediately returned their focus to the screen as the recording had more to say.

"While I understand if your happy right now, there was much more to this exam than just looking flashy and battling hordes of villains left and right. You also displayed admirable qualities that left many of the judges impressed too." Allmight said, sounding quite impressed as well despite only being a recording.

"Wait does he mean…" Maka muttered as she started putting the dots together, only for her and the boy's bewildered faces to shift into surprise as the screen changed.

The projection now showed various recordings of her and Soul warding off that zero pointer to let the other applicants escape alongside fighting alongside those machines with headphone jack girl and Asui. While the other portion of the screen showed Crona preventing a chunk of debris from falling on a blonde horned girl with his thorns.

"They were recording all that?" Soul remarked with a hint of surprise, but sorta expected this given they must've been watching from somewhere. He just didn't think they'd be recording those particular moments-yet in hindsight it made sense.

Crona in particular averted his gaze from the screen briefly as his face grew sheepish. They were watching that? But why did it count? Wasn't he partially responsible for putting her in danger, in the first place? A part of him wanted to voice this, but maybe it was better to let it go.

What did Soul call it again? Take…the win?

Yeah that was probably it.

"You didn't just aim for gaining as many villain points as possible. All three of you went above and beyond to even help and outright rescue some of your fellow applicants in need, by sheer instinct alone. That is what it truly means to be a hero!"

Maka soon felt the previous sensation of butterflies in her stomach dissipating, and started shifting into a tingling feeling in her chest that began spreading her soul's wavelength itself. Her mind recalling back to when that detective Eizo said something similar to them back in the hospital when they first arrived here. Nine months later and she was now hearing the greatest hero in Japan himself, calling them true heroes as well.

It was amazing…and kinda overwhelming.

Yet Maka glanced to see Soul smiling as he listened to Allmight praise them for their actions, and resisted the urge to chuckle. Of course he'd be loving this. Though she couldn't deny the feeling of pride that she shared with her Albino partner. It's not every day you hear the greatest hero in the world call them heroes!

Though Crona while surprised as they were, didn't seem exactly as excited, and almost flinched when he said that last part. As if those last two words sounded off to her pink haired friend. But otherwise continued to listen keenly.

"Maka and Soul, you two in particular shined in this area, as not only did you aid several applicants, but you even inspired a few to follow your footsteps and work together!" Allmight added as he showed footage of Asui helping that plum haired girl while Maka and Soul fought the last three pointer.

"Tsuyu?" Maka spoke aloud the frog girl's name as the video continued showing them fighting against those robots yet was a little glad, she was getting some attention too.

"Not just her, but that headphone jack girl. Never got her name though." Soul added with a quirked brow, but already he was getting curious where this was going.

"And that's where Rescue Points come into the picture! In this career, it's about doing what you're gut tells you to do even in the face of danger, and you all proved to have instincts fitting of heroes!" Allmight declared with that beaming smile and pointed to the scoreboard as the points began recalculating. "Maka and Soul you earned fifty eight rescue points. As for you Crona, you've also received a total of forty rescue points!"

Maka and Crona's eyes grew wide with shock while Soul's mouth was slightly agape, yet the scythe meister started calculating all their new scores. With these new points added with their original scores, that would make their new scores a total of…

"Holy crap, Soul we…we both have ninety eight points now," Maka muttered to Soul in disbelief by that huge number, who was just as surprised as she was. "And Crona, you must've gotten over a hundred and thirty points!" Maka muttered in stunned disbelief by those ludicrously massive numbers. Sure, since it was split between her and Soul, it would be sixty points for each of them, but it did very little to dampen this grand achievement.

"Woah that's…that's a lot." Soul blinked in surprise, also not expecting their scores to get that high. "But hey I ain't going to complain about it."

Crona meanwhile just stared at Maka with a stunned expression when she said what his score was. He never could've imagined those few good deeds he did to make up for so much rancor would boost his score even more. But did he really deserve it?

To be honest…he wasn't sure.

But with the excited gleam starting to brew within Maka and Soul's eyes, it was best to keep those doubts to himself and not ruin this important moment.

"Heck we're even throwing twenty rescue points for both Asui and Jirou Kyoka as well! But you three have been waiting long enough. It's time to show you your total scores!" Allmight added with a grin somehow bigger than before as he gestured with his hand to the digital scoreboard as it began to reshuffle once the rescue points were added to the original scores.

Maka and Soul kept their composure as the scores reshuffled yet they both were feeling their heartbeats beginning to race as they saw their names move up. Maka felt the strength in her legs dwindling but merely sit back down on her chair and watched the screen without even blinking as Soul stood staring with an unreadable expression. But from a glance at the corner of her eye saw the edges of the scythe's lips curling ever so slowly. Crona however looked ready to turn into a statue as the young meister stood still with his eyes widening into the size of dinner plates. Normally seeing that kind of face on Crona would elicit a chuckle from her, but she was too shocked herself to even react to that as her eyes were glued to the screen.

It almost felt like an hour despite only a few seconds passing by in reality, but once the scores finally stopped shifting, Maka held her breath and stared with an awestruck expression that was shared by Crona. And even though Soul was keeping his composure mostly, saw his mouth now a wide smile at the sight of where their names were now placed. But while Maka wanted to say she was still composed…it took every ounce of her own willpower to not jump out of her chair in joy.

Crona was in first place, while Soul and herself were now placed in second place thanks to those rescue points.

And not only that, but they even saw Izuku's name humbly placed in ninth place! True, he didn't get any villain points; but it was all thanks to the sixty rescue points he received that he got in!

Yet while Maka added a mental note to congratulate Izuku later, she returned her focus to Allmight, as the iconic hero spoke once again.

"I don't think it takes a genius to know where this is going. It leaves me quite proud to say that you've all passed with flying colors!" Allmight declared with a beaming grin raising his strong hand and pointing his index finger towards the camera; almost making the stunned trio feel he was pointing to them. "Congratulations Maka, Soul and Crona. You've just made your first steps to becoming great heroes someday. I welcome each of you to the start of your hero academia!"

Silence befell the room briefly once those words were uttered by the projected recording of Allmight. But once the projection dissipated back into the disc, it was almost like a firecracker went off, as Maka's agape mouth immediately morphed into a wide and happy smile and leapt out of her chair, snapping Soul and Crona out of their respective astonishment.

"YES! Yes! Yes! Yes!" Maka exclaimed ecstatically as she raised both her fists into the air and jumped a few times. But before Soul and Crona could even react or even open her mouths, Maka immediately wrapped her arms around Soul and Crona's shoulders and pulled them into a group hug. "We did it! We actually did it guys! We're going to U.A!"

"Heh, gotta admit this is pretty awesome." Soul chuckled in satisfaction at the good news, yet soon flinched in pain as Maka kept hugging them rather tightly. "Okay Maka, I get your really happy right now, but we can't exactly enjoy the moment when you're crushing our ribs." Soul managed to say as already Crona was beginning to cringe from the strength Maka put into her overexcited embrace.

Oh wait, now his face was starting to look a little blue, that can't be good.

Maka blinked before immediately letting go, giving the boys aching ribs some room to breathe and bashfully tapped her fingers together. "Sorry about that. I got a little too excited there hehehe…"

"Just try and give us a heads up, okay?" Soul replied as he and Crona got their bearings together.

"Got it." Maka replied with a nod but was still a little embarrassed that she accidentally chocked her friends. 'I guess I don't know my own strength sometimes…'

"Hey, don't sweat it, you're not the only one who's pumped up either. It's gonna be pretty sweet to add soon-to-be-heroes in our résumé now." Soul said with a sharp grin, already getting pumped up that they were finally going to U.A, and become full on heroes in no time.

"Yeah, I guess so." Crona muttered meekly while scratching the back of his head. "I'm just trying to process everything that's happening."

"Aw cmon dude, lighten up already. Heck, I bet now you'll be getting a ton fan's back in Aldera, once everyone hears all about you hitting first place."

"N-No, that's alright!" Crona frantically shook his head in panic against the notion. "T-There's no way I could handle so much attention thrown at me, it w-would rack my nerves to n-no end! I don't even think it's that important to boast about anyhow. I'm just happy that I managed to pass, like you and Maka did. That's more than enough for me."

'Humble as always.' Soul noted with a tinge of exasperation at the sword meister's persistent lack of ambition.

He assumed after all these months with a therapist he'd possess more confidence in himself but it seems that humble nature was something more ingrained into Crona then he expected.

Yet Crona couldn't say anything else before he felt his merged weapon rupture out of his upper back and started opening his big mouth. "Are you shitting me! So, you're just gonna pretend we didn't outclass the cow and the rest of those sad losers in that exam!?"

"But I already said I never wanted that to begin with. I wasn't aiming to beat anyone. I just wanted to do the best I could to pass the exam and go to U.A with my friends." Crona frowned.

"Not even the satisfaction of surpassing that asshat Bakugo?" Crona's frown deepened slightly and looked away, yet Ragnarök only moved his face closer to his merged meister. "Cmon, don't try denying that a part of you enjoys knowing you surpassed that bastard after the shit he pulled months ago. Heck, I can only imagine how much he'll be bitching and screaming once he learns he got some crappy bronze compared to us!" Ragnarök sneered back.

Crona's lips twitched at the mention of that unwelcome memory, yet his expression didn't change. "That doesn't matter to me, Ragnarök. I don't really have any interest competing with Bakugo." Crona glanced at Soul and Maka feeling a light flicker that uplifted his spirits. "Staying with them is more important to me than entertaining whatever grudges Bakugo has against me."

"My god, you are such a sad little weirdo." Ragnarök scoffed off and roughly pushed him aside to sneer at the scythe duo. "Well unlike you, I'm gonna enjoy every moment of knowing that the cow and her sorry excuse of a death scythe got second place compared to me and the wimp! Phehahaha, sucks, doesn't it?!"

"Oh will you shut up, already!?" Maka exclaimed as her temper flared up and quickly dished out a swift uppercut with her infamous textbook at the demon swords jaw, only for the demon sword to dodge the blow. "Grgh, do you always have to ruin every good moment we have?"

"How mature. But it still doesn't change the facts! You can hit me with your stupid book all you want cow; but it doesn't change that the shrimp and I beat your puny score and got that shiny gold spot on the top!" Ragnarök spat back as he surprisingly recomposed himself after the strong hit but was still raddled somewhat.

"Well, our "puny score" was only twenty points behind yours. If we had a bit more time, I bet we been the one's sitting at first place."

"Keep telling yourself that you overgrown shark! Even if I'm stuck in this tiny body, I still got plenty of power to crush you like a bug."

"Tch, in your dreams buddy. In case you forgot I also got plenty of upgrades since the last time we duked out." Soul retorted with a confident tone as sparks seemingly flew between him and Ragnarök's locked glares.

Of course, their battle on the moon technically didn't count since one: Blackstar and Tsubaki teamed up with them to fight the demon swordsman. And secondly, Crona infecting his meister and his best friend with that anti-soul resonance poison from his thorns that kept him from pulling out his more serious moves.

Crona and Maka however were growing quite tired of watching their demon weapon partners argue with each other, as the excitement and joy the initially felt from learning they passed was starting to dull down from this argument.

The former glanced at the other meister in the room and judging by the flat expression on her face was losing her patience. Maybe he should try stopping this before Maka started getting mad.

"Ragnarök this isn't the time to be arguing and starting fight. We're supposed to be celebrating we passed." Crona reminded his merged weapon and subtly Soul, before this escalated.

"Huh, for once you actually have a point. Cause now I can finally have that tasty cake that damn bunny has been keeping from me!" Ragnarök slobbered in delight of his reward in his sights, much to Crona's chagrin as he and the scythe duo cringed at the drooling maw unveiled by the imp.

Gross…

But at least it's keeping him distracted for now.

"Now why are you still standing here? Get a move on so I can get my treat!" Ragnarök demanded and pulled his meister's pink locks as if he was riding a horse.

"Okay, but will you at least share?" Crona tried to ask, but all he got was a mocking laugh before diving back into the teen's bloodstream.

*sigh* Well that answered his question.

"Don't pay him too much mind, dude. We'll make sure you'll be having a blast celebrating like the rest of us." Soul replied with Maka nodding happily in agreement with her weapon.

"Well, what are we still standing around here for? Let's go tell Rumi the good news!" Maka said cheerfully and taking her friends' hands quickly walked out of her room and made their way downstairs.

"Rumi, you're not going to believe this, we-"

"SONNUVA BITCH!" Rumi exclaimed while the trio stood in shock as the fuming bunny hero paced around the living room looking halfway ready to throw a chair or the couch.

"Did we come at a bad time?" Soul asked, yet Maka was still too surprised to answer, while Crona was getting too scared of getting caught in their guardian's sudden fury to say anything either.

"Unbelievable! Those pricks knocked me out because they wanted to keep the fact Allmight was gonna be a teacher at their goddamn school!?" Rumi exclaimed angrily as her large bunny ears were shot up straight.

While she had been trying to listen in on what the kid's results for the exams were, the highly sensitive and far-reaching hearing of her bunny ears she was well known for (and took some pride in) caught a voice she knew there was no mistaking.

That was freakin Allmight giving Maka and her friends results!

It all made sense now! No wonder those guys were so determined to keep her out of that stupid monitor room! Who wouldn't, when they were keeping literally the biggest hero in the entire goddamn nation with all those other judges!

It was official. She was gonna tear Midnight and Erasurehead a new one when she saw them again! But at least now she was feeling way less guilty about blowing one of their stinking walls to smithereens!

Yet as the Bunny hero continued venting, Maka regained her composure and some courage decided to get down the stairs and speak to Rumi. "Um Rumi?"

"The nerve of those jackasses! I can't believe they put me through all that crap just because they wanted to keep their big secret from getting exposed."

"Rumi?" Maka tried to speak to Rumi but she didn't seem aware of the teen yet.

"Now I regret not busting their crappy hallway a bit more-no TWICE as much even!"

"Rumi." Maka raised her voice a bit, garnering the older woman's attention and whipped around to face the ash blonde.

"What?" The bunny hero grumbled, not too happy about being interrupted from venting her frustration at those secretive jerks at U.A.

Maka blinked but let her lips pull into a smile and quickly spoke. "Rumi, we passed!"

Mirko stared at the teen for several moments until her red eyes widened once she registered what the teen just said. "You did?"

"Uh huh!" Maka cheerfully nodded.

It took a second for that to sink in, but soon enough, the bunny woman forgot about her anger and was now sporting a big smile of her own. "Hell yeah! Now that's what I'm talking about! I knew you guys were gonna pass without a hitch!" Rumi exclaimed and wasted no time pulling the girl into a side hug and ruffled the girl's head.

"It helps we also got ourselves the top scores to boot. Not too bad, huh?" Soul said with a toothy smile as he and Crona came down to join the pair.

"No way! Hah should've known you kids would've come up top! I bet you're making all those other guys jealous as hell when they saw your names up there." Rumi said with a healthy dose of excitement and pride to her ward's overwhelming success.

"Heh, thanks Rumi." Maka chuckled as she wriggled out of her caretaker's grip and fixed her hair "I guess going through all the hell you put us through these past eight months helped out after all."

"Eh!? What are you talking about? I thought you enjoyed our spars?" Rumi said in genuine surprise.

"Oh sure, most people love getting thrown around like a rag doll." Soul rolled his eyes with sarcasm practically dripping from his voice. "But we probably would've nailed it even if we hadn't trained all that time."

"What was that ya ungrateful twerp!?" Rumi exclaimed. "I sacrificed a good chunk of my patrol hours just to help you and your pals! Heck, most kids your age would probably see it as a dream come true to get trained by me." Rumi ranted with an angry vein popped on her forehead and started cracking her knuckles.

"Alright, alright, I take it back, just chill out!" Soul said quickly to avoid getting pummeled by the bunny hero. But thankfully Soul was able to sigh in relief as Rumi simply huffed before calming down.

Maka let a chuckle escape from her lips as she watched the little argument play out. But felt no need to worry about it since she could easily sense the degrees of joviality emitted from Mirko and Soul. Even Crona felt the same way, albeit more subdued given his timid demeanor, but she could still see his lips twitching into a small smile.

This was finally going to be the start of a new and exciting chapter in this other world they landed in. It was hard to say how long it would be, but for now, Maka decided it was better to enjoy the moment currently with her friends. She can only imagine what kinds of classes U.A would have in store for her to attend that could implement her favorite subject and heroic's together. The thought alone was enough to make her giddy to no end!

"Though why were all pissed off about hearing Allmight?" Soul questioned, which Maka and Crona were also pretty curious to know.

"Tch, it just helped me connect the dots with something that happened last week." Rumi grumbled out when reminded of that particular topic. "But you're still pretty damn lucky you're getting the chance to have Allmight teaching at U.A."

You'd think with how busy Allmight is throwing villains into Tartarus left and right, he wouldn't have much time to be a teacher of all things.

"Well, I bet Izuku is going to be happy to know his idol is coming to U.A. Oh, I should go ahead and call him soon, he'd love to talk about it!" Maka remarked, but also to congratulate Izuku for also managing to pass and get into his dream school.

"Up, up, up, save that for later." Rumi smirked. "Right now, I think I think it's time to start celebrating! I'll start whipping up a damn good dinner for you guys!"

"Oh, I can help!" Maka offered without hesitation.

"Sure thing, I can always use an extra pair of hands." Rumi shrugged. Who was she to deny having a helper in the kitchen?

Not to mention, Maka actually seemed to have more of a knack for cooking than she does. It was a little embarrassing to admit that a goddamn teenager could whip up a better meal better than her, but hey she was a pro hero for a living, not a chef.

Yet their conversation was cut short as Ragnarök emerged from Crona's back. "Oi you wenches better make sure you leave enough for me!"

"Yeah, yeah, we'll give you some too. Just try to be neat about it?" Last time you were an utter slob at the table." Maka said flatly.

"And my cake?" Ragnarök ignored her and focused on yet another demand for his gullet.

"You'll get it, but if you ask me one more time I'll throw it in your face." Rumi exasperatedly told the little ink blob and was honestly a little tempted to still do it if weren't for wanting her wards to enjoy some too.

"Works for me too! That way I get to have it all to myself and as a bonus see the brat covered in frosting." Ragnarök sneered, as his meister frowned at his weapon's insult.

"Why I oughta…" Rumi growled but with a deep sigh cooled off knowing it wasn't worth the headache. "Just keep that trap shut, unless you want scraps for dinner."

"Oh, you wouldn't dare!"

"Try me," Rumi said flatly but still with some firmness to her voice before switching back to her celebratory mood. "Anyway, let's get the fun started!"

"Now you're speaking my language." Soul smiled as he was looking more very forward to whatever Rumi and Maka would cook up.

Yet as the trio followed Mirko to the dining area, Maka continued to soak in the joyful atmosphere that now permeated in the house and was enjoying every second of it.

This was finally going to be when she and Soul could protect others in roles similar to what they had back home. It was about time too. She was dying to finally put her skills as a meister to good use and could already imagine that Soul was itching to show how much of a "cool" hero he could be. *sigh* if only she could make him as eager in his studies. But she and Soul weren't the only ones to benefit from this opportunity. U.A could be the perfect way for Crona to get the chance to further acclimate to a lifestyle he had in Shibusan! He was already doing spectacular these past couple of months with his therapy sessions, despite a few hiccups popping up here and there; but now U.A.could help him even more.

It was more than a little hard to say where enrolling in this school could take them, or how long it would go on, but Maka knew without a doubt that this was going to be an amazing experience!

Living within a fancy looking house that was adorned with multiple stained-blue windows, a gorgeous front yard with multiple small trees at the front and many larger trees and a small garden in a decently sized backyard, the hot-headed and extremely arrogant Katsuki Bakugo was sitting in his room, playing DOOM Eternal on his Xbox to let time fly as he continued to wait.

But no matter how many times he gruesomely blew up the head of a demon with the Doom Slayer's shotgun amongst other gory and brutal fatalities he could deliver upon his virtual enemies; none of them could truly help to block out the rising impatience bubbling in his system.

He's already waited an entire week so far for the results to come in, but he already knew what was gonna come through his home's mail slot. He performed beyond everyone's expectations and climbed his way to the top on that embarrassingly easy practical exam. The written exam was admittedly slightly challenging, but he already studied extensively just in case; but he knew what was gonna seal the deal in his placement within U.A was the practical.

But from his own calculations he probably scored in the seventies, after destroying a few dozen of U.A's robots. An achievement very few could ever dream of doing and would've made him absolutely confident he got ranked to the number one spot within the exams; and let everyone see the potential he possessed compared to the weaklings that tried and failed to achieve anything.

Except there was that twig Crona and his loudmouth sock puppet who just so happened to have been thrown in the same exam site as he was. And apparently the prick could do even more with his freaky quirk than what he saw back then with that wing shield-or whatever the hell that was; but he wasn't too surprised. He must still be keeping some tricks up his sleeve, but he doubted that'll do much for him.

The wimp might pull a few flashy stunts, but he'll be lucky to get in 10th place after managing to awe the judges with his powerful quirk. The same went for that grandma haired loser and her lackluster lackey who probably wouldn't even amount to anything significant. This was probably as far as those American rejects got before being moved into the sidelines where they should've been a long time ago and he couldn't be gladder to see it.

And Deku? It was almost guaranteed that nerd wouldn't even make the bottom of the barrel within the practical exam's rankings. Hell, it would've been a miracle if he came out of it in one piece, let alone with zero points to go with it. It was legitimately astonishing that idiot could still delude himself into thinking he could take the U.A high school exams and stand a remote chance of getting in. Hopefully the practical exam will be the long overdue reality check that idiot needed. Especially since those good for nothing foreigners kept staying around him bloated his delusions to absurd levels. But in the end of the day, it mattered little in the end since he learned all he needed to know back at U.A.

'He's still the same cowardly and quirkless nerd I remember him as. And his "friends" are just as colossal nerds as he is. But Maka…' Bakugo's teeth gritted slightly as the memory of that pigtailed menace having the gall to try and ruin his reputation passed by. 'Our business ain't finished yet. She can act all mighty and self righteous as she wants, but she's just another obstacle in my path to becoming the number one hero.'

"Katsuki, you should get down here! That letter from U.A is here!" The short fused middle schooler heard his loud and usually annoying mom call for him from downstairs. But for once she actually said something that was music to his ears.

"About damn time." Bakugo grumbled and paused his video game before rushing downstairs to meet his mom.

"Woah, take it easy there, you'll break the stairs at the rate you're going." The young woman told the explosive teen as she held the envelope in her right hand. But a single glance at her was more than enough to let anyone know they were related to each other.

This was none other than Mitsuki Bakugo and Just like her son Katsuki Bakugo, she had the same spiky blonde hair, same facial features such as a pair sharp red eyes that held a strong flame that make any lesser man tremble should they dare infuriate her. And yes, she had that same fiery temper that her son was infamous for, albeit maybe having less of a short fuse like her son-but that wasn't saying much.

But for once there wouldn't be too much arguing between them as today proved to be the big day her son was looking forward to. She knew just how much Bakugo was more than eager to confirm earning first place in U.A's entrance exams, but she gave the letter to her son, who wasted no time snatching it from her hand and already stomped back upstairs.

"Hey where are you going? Don't you think you should share the exciting news with me and your father?" Mitsuki said with a notable hint of sternness and her hand placed on her hip as her son's face shift into an annoyed scowl.

"Is that some kind of joke? Like hell I'm gonna let you guys' hover over me and dampen my victory after waiting a week for this moment. I'll be back upstairs, and don't try eavesdropping!" Bakugo exclaimed as he headed up the staircase.

"Excuse me? Young man, you better not forget your still on thin ice after the stunt you pulled a several months back." Mitsuki reminded her impertinent tempered son who paused before sending an irritated glare at his mother.

"That's none of you're business. I already dealt with your crappy grounding, so back off already. Now if you don't mind, I gonna savor every moment of my win." Bakugo declared and continued his way back to his room.

"Unbelievable. I knew we've spoiled him rotten." The exasperated mother grumbled to herself, but she was pretty used to her son's rude attitude at this point. "Some part of me hopes he'll stop acting like such a punk once he gets into U.A, but I honestly doubt it."

You would think after being grounded for a month, that would be enough to rein in that unruly behavior at least a little bit. But it looks like that did very little to shape up his attitude whatsoever.

She knew Bakugo had a temper, which was not too surprising since it runs in the family, but barring that whole slime villain fiasco, he'd been mostly out of any trouble. A least until her son came back home looking like he was in a fight and kicked in the face no less! Obviously, she wasted no time she rushed to Aldera to figure out what the heck was going on with her son. Only to unfortunately learn he got said injuries from bullying one of his classmates and the boy's friends defended him in self-defense. Instantly turning their concern for her son into outrage to know he had harassed another kid and burned his shoulder, which justifiably earned him two whole weeks of detention.

After dragging him back home, she made damn sure to spend an entire night scolding her son and clearly warn him what'll happen if he goes around bullying his fellow classmates again.

It was only several months later that she decided to not take away his chance to take the U.A entrance exams after her son had been mostly behaving well and delivered good grades without causing anymore ruckus's. But now a part of her couldn't help but feel like she'd been too nice. At the very least, she can hope that getting into U.A high can be the change that was long overdue for her son.

Back upstair's Bakugo had immediately slammed his door shut behind him before looking over the envelope that would cement his future and allowed his lips to curl into a confident grin. "I don't see the point of building this up any longer. It's about time everyone knows who the real victor is. It was obvious from the beginning."

The cocky teenager walked over to his desk and without delay, tore open the envelope. But to surprise, barring a sheet or two of the, a circular disk fell out of the letter's contents.

"What the hell is this?" Bakugo's brow scrunched in confusion, but before he could think any further, the small machine generated a a beam of light that became a holographic screen that immediately went from static to the image of a single person grinning at him…

"Allmight!?" Bakugo gasped while his eyed widened greatly in shock as he saw the very man he planned to surpass right before his eyes. But immediately he calmed himself somewhat and leaned a little closer. "This doesn't make sense. Why is he here, wearing some fancy ass suit?"

"Greetings young man! Sorry if my shocking appearance came out of the blue, but while you must be quite baffled to see me, I assure you there is a very good reason for why I'm here. Now this may come as an even greater shock, but to answer your question…" Allmight puffed his chest and keeping his beaming smile, pointed his thumb at himself. "I've come to be a teacher at U.A academy!"

"What!?" Bakugo shouted out and stood up from his chair with his mouth remaining agape from utter shock. "No…no fucking way."

Out of all the many, many things he imagined would happen once he went to U.A and proved his worth, but not even a single one of those simulated ideals could anticipate Allmight becoming an honest to god teacher at U.A. But as unbelievable as this sudden revelation was, this could prove to be another opportunity.

Now Allmight could see with his own eyes who will be the one to surpass him and become the next number one hero in the country!

"But enough about me. I think it's time you learned of your results in the entrance exams, don't you think?" Bakugo's eyes immediately lit up the second that sentence registered in his eyes and let an excited laugh escape his lips.

"Yes, YES! That's what I'm talking about!" Bakugo grinned as pride and excitement flowed throughout his expression as he grew ever eager to see his name sitting in first place on that scoreboard. His hands twitched into tight fists and his mouth shifted into a glad yet somewhat savage grin that would make another person uncomfortable. "Go ahead and show me the scoreboard! I've waited long enough to see my name at the top!"

"But there is something else I should mention before getting to that," Bakugo's anticipation faltered slightly and made his expression turn confused. "While you did quite well on the written exam, there was another element to the practical exam we were scoring applicants on in particular. The judges were also observant towards your overall actions and behavior and if they found you performing altruistically as expected would earn you rescue points!"

"Yet given how you were keenly focused on destroying the villain bots and little else…I'm afraid you've received no rescue points whatsoever." Allmight informed the teen with a slightly subdued tone compared to his loud and cheery mood throughout the recording.

The explosive teen however only rolled his eyes in indifference to this information instead of any concern. Quite frankly he already figured the higher ups might've been judging him for how he acted around the others who took the exam, but like hell he was going to waste his time and get bogged down working with weaklings. What mattered far more was showing those judges how his potential was far above that crowd, and he was more than confident he accomplished that.

"Yeah, yeah, big deal. Now if your done talking about that useless crap, get to the scoreboard already!" Bakugo demanded impatiently.

"But regardless, you still did remarkable in practical exam with all the villain points you accumulated! It was more than enough to compensate for the lack of rescue points and let you pass!" Finally afterwards the screen materialized the scoreboard next to Allmight, much to Bakugo's satisfaction.

"About time!" Bakugo exclaimed and looked over the scoreboard. But the moment he did, all the overconfident excitement and enthusiasm vanished from his expression almost instantly, once he noticed something very wrong with the screen. Or more precisely, the teen immediately noticed his name wasn't in the top of the chart whatsoever. "Wait…that can't be right. I'm only in third place?"

Indeed, the teenager's arrogantly high expectations were shattered to pieces as he kept staring in stunned silence at the sight of his name placed directly below three other names, he was quite familiar with. Maka Albarn and Soul Evan's managing to get to second place while the one to somehow take first place instead of him being Crona Gorgon.

'Those American foreigners? No that should be impossible, how could they surpass me?!' Bakugo immediately scanned the upper scoreboard immediately gasped and felt his chest tighten once he saw the trio's scores.

"What the hell? That pink twig got ninety villain points!?" The explosive blonde exclaimed as he saw that score next to that wimp's name. But how could that loser destroy that many villain bots? Even if he could pull off some stupid tricks with that sock puppet it shouldn't have been enough to let him get nearly thirty more points than he got! But what about that pigtailed nerd and her stupid sidekick?

His sharp eyes narrowed as noticed something off with the pair's score. "But why are those two nerds sharing second place? Shouldn't they be separated? Unless…" Bakugo's eyes angry eyes widened as a single possibility crossed his mind but didn't want to believe due to the absurdity of it. "Don't tell me they were allowed to work together? But that doesn't make any damn sense!"

He thought U.A indirectly prevented the candidates from teaming up by placing them into different zones? So why the hell would they all of a sudden go against that logic and let those two in particular take the practical exam together?

But moving past that bullshit conundrum, Katsuki looked over Soul and Maka's scores but he noticed they both had forty villain points compared to the seventy seven points he earned. That should've been more than enough for those losers to be thrown in third place instead of him, yet immediately he accounted for those extra points Allmight talked about earlier.

"You got to be shitting me, they got over ninety eight points!" Bakugo exclaimed with both shock and anger flowing out of his voice and expression once he did the math. "And not only that, but that nerd Crona got over a hundred thirty!?"

This can't be true. There's no way any of those transfers could beat him, not after all the hard work he poured in!

But unfortunately for Bakugo, it was only going to get worse for him. As if learning his ambition to be placed in first place within the entrance exams getting robbed from him wasn't bad enough, his eyes caught yet another name at the bottom of the scoreboard. But not without making his vision nearly go red at the sight of it.

"What…what the fuck is this?" Bakugo muttered, feeling his brain was about to explode in violent fashion once as he saw none other than Deku's name sitting all the way down in tenth place.

At this point his entire body felt ready to short circuit by all the bullshit this scoreboard was showing him. But at least he could comprehend those foreign nerds somehow pulling a fast one and beating him. Even if it made his blood boil thinking about how those three were holding back their true potential and messed around with him. All the more reason to train harder and beat Maka and her friends. But out of everything else, he had imagined-no, knew without a doubt, Izuku Midoryia was going to fail at the exam because he was quirkless. And the fact those three interlopers Izuku found kept making him believe otherwise, only made the situation more pitiful.

But while apparently, he got not even a single villain point, just like he imagined for a quirkless nobody would've ended up with, that goddamn nerd somehow got sixty rescue points!?

How the hell did that even happen!?

But as Bakugo's head only kept getting more flooded with angry questions over these results, the video continued to play as Allmight started wrapping things up. "Congratulations Bakugo for making passing and becoming an official student at U.A! From here on out is the start to your path to becoming a hero!"

And with that final piece said, Allmight and the holographic screen dissipated as the disk like device turned itself off. While the many others who received similar message from Japan's greatest hero would've been absolutely jubilant, Bakugo wasn't feeling anything even a flicker of joy whatsoever.

That recording should've detailed all about his victory and the mark he should've made on U.A and prove he was a cut above the rest of the average weaklings who came. But instead, he was presented with his victory being robbed from him by that that nerd that always latched to Maka.

The same girl in question who somehow bent the rules to work with that albino prick and crawl their way to second place and leave him bogged down with third fucking place!

"This wasn't supposed to happen…none of this feels right at all. This was supposed to be my golden victory, not shitty bronze behind those foreign rejects." Katsuki's body trembled as furious veins emerged from his head and his red eyes grew wide and strained from the pure fury beginning to only now bubble and threaten to soon burst like an active volcano. All the while hot sparks soon manifested at his tight fists as he even began losing control over his quirk with all this wrath overwhelming him.

It was bad enough those three foreigners dented his reputation at Aldera and nearly lost the chance to go to U.A if it wasn't for keeping quiet to satisfy his annoying mother. But once out of the danger zone, he wanted nothing more to get back at that cocky pigtailed brat who caused him nothing but trouble-yet at some point he cooled down and realized throwing himself into those occasional fights wouldn't do anything.

No, he needed to do the smart thing and wait. So, he stopped wasting his time and trained to not only achieve his victory and be more ready to take on that bitch, but also prove he was still going to be the best at his current goal.

Being the top applicant in U.A's entrance exam and make his mark above all the others. Especially see Deku get the reality check that was loooong overdue for that deluded nerd.

But he couldn't even have that…those bastards took-no-robbed him of the opportunity he rightly deserved.

That twig Crona Gorgon, stole his spot at number one!

Even worse, that insufferable pigtails humiliated him yet again and shot him down to third fucking place in the exams!!!

His teeth clenching tightly against each other, to the point one could wonder if they would crack from the force Bakugo's jaw was exerting due to the sheer rage practically bursting out of the seething teen.

"Those nerds should never have beaten me. I belonged in first place on the practical exams. Not that pink haired freak who doesn't even have the guts to earn the spot! My quirk is the kind everyone else would've dreamed of having, so how the fuck could he manage to beat with that goddamn muppet!?"

But as if that insult wasn't bad enough….

"But what the hell did Deku even do to get to the top ten on the practical exam? That powerless nerd who can only cry and barely do anything doesn't even belong at the bottom of the barrel with sixty points! That score is too good for even him! He doesn't deserve a single fucking point!" Bakugo roared and at that point his boiling wrath finally reached a tipping point and with a primal and furious roar Bakugo raised his arms and slammed onto his desk. Cracking the wood in explosive fashion as his quirk worsened the damage and worse yet, the small metal disk containing his results were utterly destroyed. Crushed and charred by Bakugo venting his enormous fury, and unfortunately, he was far from done.

"Goddamn it!" Bakugo shouted once again, slamming his fist once again onto the poor desk, threatening to break it at the rate he was going. Yet soon enough his tantrum eventually caught the attention of his mother, who was already banging at his door.

"Oi Katsuki, what the hell is going on in there!? You're making a huge racket, for crying out loud!" Mitsuki exclaimed outside her son's room.

Bakugo however whirled around and shot a livid glare at the door. "It's none of your damn business! Leave me alone!"

"Not when you're screaming your head off and smashing stuff in there! So help me, if there is a mess in there, you're cleaning it up yourself!"

"Whatever, just quit get lost!" Bakugo snapped at his angry mother while his blood kept boiling hotter and hotter.

The last thing he needed right now was his mother nagging his damn ear off!

Mitsuki only scoffed angrily before stomping off and letting Bakugo return to his furious thoughts.

Yet it was still taking everything he had to not vent the rest of his nearly volcanic fury at the rest of his room, but he knew it wouldn't solve anything. But there was no way he could let go of this. Not when a bunch of nerds and losers ended up making an utter mockery his "victory" had been reduced to because of those transfer student's! But even worse, Deku managing to sneak his way into U.A when it was obvious, he should've bombed it with how weak he was.

"I don't know how you did it, but don't even think I'm letting this bullshit go lying down. I'm gonna get to the bottom of this and expose you for the quirkless weakling you've always been!" Bakugo snarled with utter determination mixing in with the rage that was still literally seething out of him. But he wouldn't be the only one in his sights.

Maka Albarn, Soul Evan's and that spineless bastard Crona Gorgon were all on his shit list! He's had it up to here, with those damn foreigners getting in his way and making him look like a fucking joke!

"Pigtail's and her pals can think they're on top of the world all they want, but once I'm in U.A, those pricks are gonna learn very soon.." Bakugo's hands soon became aglow as his quirk was halfway active and steam already started flowing out of his palms before he snapped his hands into tight fists that created several sparks of explosive power. "They can never match up to the likes of me. Not now, not ever!"

ELSEWHERE…

"Well, that's about the last of them." Hawks replied, looking over the various groaning or unconscious villain's he had just taken down with surprisingly little effort.

He had just about finished what was probably a weeklong operation to dismantle an illegal Trigger trade network being built by a group of clever, yet inexperienced villains had been trying to spread beyond their usual territory. Luckily for him a few of their goons hadn't noticed the truck he'd been tailing had one of his feathers planted in the bottom of their shipment vehicle. Leading him straight to their small base of operations before taking them all out with swift maneuvering of several of his feathers to leave them out like a light and ready to be apprehended.

"I'm just surprised by their audacity. You'd think they'd figure out they'd been busted and get out of town by now after we found traces of the stuff in their last stunt." Hawks remarked in surprise.

"That's all thanks to greed and hubris. They were so focused on thinking their little trigger ring would be salvageable, the fools never bothered to think we'd track down the residuals sooner than they thought." The chairwoman of the HPSC replied through the communicator, as really it had been quite simple once they managed to find one of their buyers and interrogate him for whatever useful information, he could provide about their shipping routes.

And suffice to say, he sang like a bird once the threat of a sentence at Tartarus maximum security prison entered into the equation.

"True. I guess you could say it was pride before the fall." Hawks replied, yet as he discussed more with the seemingly unaware how one of the villains who was still conscious crawled over to try and get back at the interloping hero.

"Damn it! Of all the heroes it just had to be fucking Hawks!" The villain with several bulky drills across his body and sharp canines hissed to himself, before stumbling quietly back to his feet and pulling out a red vial from his pocket and tried injecting himself with his trump card. "Well let's see how you like it when we can- "

"Oops missed one." Hawks commented before with a thrust of his left wing fired four feathers that made him drop the drug as he was sent flying across the warehouse before getting pinned down on a wall.

"Yeesh, gotta be more aware of my surroundings." Hawks chastised himself before returning to his call. "Sorry about that, so you were saying?"

"That authorities should be arriving soon, so you won't have to linger there much longer. But I thought you'd like to know that I just got confirmation that Maka, Soul and Crona had passed U.A's entrance exams." Hana informed the winged hero, who's interest was quickly raised.

"Oh, those kids? It's been a while since I've heard from them. But that's awesome to hear, I figured that wouldn't have been much of hassle for those three." Hawks remarked with a smile at the good news. But he wasn't surprised Hana, and the board already knew the entrance exam results since it was standard procedure for every hero school's yearly exam results would pass through to the HPSC databases and register the new student information.

"The outcome was quite obvious. After all if they were able to fight you and Mirko on an even level, U.A's entrance exam would've been child's play for those kids." Hana remarked astutely, sounding like she had expected this to happen from the start.

"Good point, but U.A's definitely gonna hit the jackpot with those three. I guess Eizo's idea to let em stay with Mirko paid off." Hawks replied.

They would've already had incredible potential to begin with, but with Mirko probably having trained them to sharpen them around the edges, no doubt further added to what they would become as heroes someday.

"Surprisingly enough it did." Hana conceded. "Though a small part of me still would've preferred having them under our direct supervision and monitoring given how…unique they are."

Even after all these months she still had a hard time fully acknowledging that Maka, Soul and Crona actually came from another reality. Beforehand she would've scoffed such concepts as nothing more than fiction, but after seeing the video Hawks provided…changed that perception entirely, to say the least.

The knowledge that somewhere, a fantastical world where logic and sanity seemingly never existed from the beginning. Where an academy ruled by a literal god of death who acted as the leader of an organization, where individuals could transform into magic weapons to be wielded by warriors against all sorts of monsters, witches and god only knows what else.

It was something not even ten novelists' put together could ever have conceived. But nonetheless it is real and had to accept the fact that three denizens of that world have been marooned here.

"Maybe, but it's not like we have any right given all they've been though. But everything has so far gone like how wanted it, now they're enrolling in the country's top hero academy." Hawks countered, wanting to get the message across that they were still kids at the end of the day. But understood wanting to keep close eye on their interdimensional visitors. "But out of curiosity, does anyone else know?"

"Are you seriously asking me that?" Hana replied, as she didn't appreciate the dumb question, but after a second, relented. "Only I and a few trusted members of the board saw what you sent us several months ago. Everything else detailing their true origins has become extremely confidential to everyone but myself."

"I'm just surprised you didn't alert the rest of the government about this discovery. After all, learning other universes exist would've easily become the biggest change in history since the emergence of quirks." Hawks remarked, surprised the HPSC had been playing along and hadn't done anything with this information sitting in their lap.

"You're far from wrong, but it wouldn't have done anything good. We both know the immediate response would've been those kids being shipped to some facility to be experimented upon like some lab rats." Hana rolled her eyes on the other side of the communicator at the idea, unfortunately knowing how badly panic would've affected their decision making. "But I feel that would be a wasted opportunity if we go blindly into this. We have four individuals that not only have come from another world, but have esoteric abilities that aren't related to quirks. Those children becoming heroes will just be one step to all the good they can do here. Just imagine the plethora of opportunities that could do for not only this country, but the world as a whole if we can if we can learn more from them, the right way."

After they have acclimated to their new surroundings, she could already see the mark they could make with enough time and patience. With merely a gentle push to letting them embrace their world and be more comfortable here, it could open the gateway to learning more about their world and more importantly the valuable knowledge about it. Such as learning more of this "soul resonance" that had been mentioned in the report and how they can harness it the way they can. To develop a new understanding of what was nothing more than a spiritual concept, into something that can define humanity like it had for quirks.

(And yes, the fact that the actual soul also existed had been another shock, but after being desensitized by learning of interdimensional travelers had been able to accept it roughly better)

Of course it will be absolutely necessary to make sure that when that happens the HPSC will have to make sure that this endeavor is regulated to prevent any chaos emerging that could potentially create any disruptions to the system the commission has worked tirelessly to maintain. Nonetheless, she would be quite eager to see what would come from these interdimensional foreigners.

"Sounds nice and all, but I bet they're still trying to find a way back to their world. We don't know how long they'll be staying here." Hawks retorted his superior with that hefty kink in her ambitious plan.

"Keigo, not that I don't wish for them to return to where they came, but I'm going to be blunt with you. Given how they were taken here against their will and whatever marooned them to our world has disappeared without a trace, I don't think it's likely they can find a way back to their home." The chairwoman replied in an unreadable yet matter of fact tone.

Keigo slightly cringed, but as harsh as she made it out to be, she may unfortunately be right. It was hard to say how they could begin getting back to their reality as what brought them here has seemingly disappeared without a trace. Plus, there was little chance anything in their world could provide a way back home as there were zero quirks that dabbled in messing with the fabric of space, and even the simplest teleportation quirks were quite rare.

As much as it churned his gut, the worst possibility for those kids passed in his head. One where they would never be able to see their home again and save it from being destroyed.

He didn't want to believe that would happen…yet there was a difference between being optimistic and wishful thinking.

"I hope it doesn't come to that ma'am. It just be too cruel for guys as young as them to lose everything like that." Hawks said with a slightly somber tone to his voice at that dreaded yet quite feasible outcome. "Especially after everything they've been through."

"I don't blame you. But if that does happen, the best we can do is make them comfortable here as much as possible. Mirko has already done a good job giving them a purpose here by enrolling them into U.A. Even if they never return to their world, at the very least, they could be able to do some incredible things here." Hana assured the winged hero, sounding not too concerned given the heroic path being built for Maka and her friends.

She would've still preferred if they had been enrolled in the HPSC's own private hero program like they had done for Hawks, but despite not having as much control as she liked, was at least satisfied those teens were going the route she wanted for them.

"Yeah, maybe you got a point there." Hawks replied. At least having the assurance those three can still build new and fulfilling lives here. "But now that I think about it, how's Crona doing with his therapy?"

"Quite well, all things considered. Iwata has done a decent job helping Crona deal with his trauma, and from the reports seems to be making great progress rehabilitate the boy." Hana informed the pro hero.

"That's great news, though any chance you'll be telling her the truth about her patient?" Hawks asked his superior, since keeping Crona's real background hidden might just complicate her ability to do her job later on.

"I've actually planned to inform her soon," Hana replied casually, as Hawks eyes widened slightly in surprise. "I wanted to let her gain a good impression and get to know the boy before immediately sharing his history. After all, while the person I assigned for this task excels at her role, even she would feel…overwhelmed."

"that's putting it lightly." Hawks joked, as he could already imagine the poor woman's head spinning after learning about another dimension about souls and magic.

And that wasn't even the tip of the iceberg when it came to that particular madness.

"But it's definitely best if you tell her carefully, since Crona's backstory ain't for the faint of heart that's for sure." Hawks warned Hana, as the unfortunate knowledge of what that boy went through would still tighten his chest.

"Agreed. But I'll be honest Hawks, I'm still quite cautious about that lad. I sympathize what he's gone through, but that doesn't mean I fully approve of letting a someone who was practically molded into a killer walk around free." Hana said sternly, as it was quite obvious, she wasn't fully trusting of Crona.

Hawks released a tired sigh before continuing. "Look I won't lie you got every right to feel that way, but I still think we should give him a chance. So far, the kid's rehabilitation is going smoothly, so we got no reason to do anything drastic."

"Only because I trust you're word that the situation could be handled. Otherwise, I would've locked him Tartarus without hesitation after what you showed me in that report." Hana replied with a stern tone lining her voice on the other side of the communicator.

While Maka and Soul clearly had the potential to do some considerable good for their country, Crona Gorgon on the other hand was nothing short of a wild card. Or at worst, the potential to be a ticking time bomb. It was true, when she learned of the horrors Crona went through, even she for all she had been a part of back when her predecessor's extreme methods had dominated the HPSC that led to some unfortunate events occurring in his run. But even she felt sick to her stomach when's learning of what Crona's mother had done to her own flesh and blood.

But just because she pitied him, could never make her ignore the fact that this boy was a living weapon. A lunatic that literally tried to destroy his world out of a deranged need for a purpose. They already had a taste of what he was capable of when he went berserk such as when he clashed against Hawks, she did NOT want to see what else he was capable of.

However, given the circumstances, she did admit (albeit reluctantly now) it could be feasible to rehabilitate him like she originally wanted. If it was accomplished, he could be reformed into a person who can use his incredible powers to help others like any upstanding hero.

"But this ain't some villain we're dealing with here. This kid's just a victim who was dealt a shitty hand in life and maybe now has the chance to make something better for himself here. Besides if we do anything to him, I doubt Maka and Soul will do nothing if you go ahead and lock their buddy up. Especially since Maka risked her own life to save him for crying out loud." Hawks countered, remembering how that-quite frankly-incredibly brave girl fought tooth and nail to rescue Crona from himself.

If that wasn't a heroic spirit, then he didn't know what was.

Hana remained silent for several seconds before the sound of her tongue clicking entered top third hero's ear. "Fair enough. But enough chit chat, I think you should get back to your patrol before calling it night."

"Sure thing, but I might send my best wishes for those three kids. At least after they're done celebrating the big win." Hawks said cheekily before with a strong flap of his wings took off through a hole in the warehouse and took off in the air.

"Maybe I should give congrats to Rumi, too?" Hawks considered and rubbed his chin as he flew. "Nah she'd probably be all smug about it. Maybe later on."

And with that the top third hero of the country flew off to the other parts of the city, yet all the while wondering how Maka and her pals would spice things up at U.A academy.

AUTHOR'S NOTES.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN EVERYONE! And here is the chapter that has been long overdue. Especially since I owe you guys this one since Halloween was when I put this story on haitus.

So, to remedy that unfortunate anniversary, I have hopefully given you a satisfying chapter as Maka, Soul and Crona get their results in the exams, alongside Bakugo absolutely losing his shit after seeing him getting toppled by them and of course his rival getting in too. But also Hawks and HPSC chairwoman discussing the potential future for the trio and what would entail as they begin their paths to becoming pro heroes.

Also wow this might easily be the shortest chapter I've done so far…

I was originally hoping to do more, and I know many of you here wanted to see them go to U.A but I felt if I jumped straight into that, it would end up becoming overly bloated with how much content I wanted to add. So, I just hope this was enough to satisfy everyone.

But I am also like to apologize for the slightly long wait again, as I had to not only figure out time how to structure this chapter and redo several parts, but also been helping with Black' Victor Cachat with beta writing and fixing up his earlier chapters for his Bleach/One Piece crossover "Sea Of Souls" and I definitely recommend checking it out. That and of course Spiderman 2 coming out and HOLY CRAP that game is so much fun, seriously, Insomniac outdid themselves with this one. This may very well he one of the best superhero games ever made. No joke.

But without further ado, onto review responses!

Saisaici- The Helper: glad to see you enjoyed it, hopefully last chapter was fun to read! Also yeah, poor Aizawa is in for a HUGE headache when it comes to his class.

Mezentsevmicheal: Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed the conclusion of the Exam Arc and Crona's way of going out with a bang! But I also noticed that little problem, sorry about that, but I already added it.

Shigro283: yeah…not gonna lie, that's on me. Sorry for the long wait, but I will try to dish out my chapters faster in the future.

Yellowpikmin88: Happy you had a good time reading the last chapter! But you hit the nail right on the head! The next chapter will finally show the long-awaited trio's first day in U.A, and I will be sure to put as much effort as I can to make it worth the wait.

Well this chapter pretty much answers your theory with Maka and Soul taking second place for their shared efforts in the exam and Crona obviously taking first place after decimating all those villain bots; with a sprinkle of rescue points. But I honestly feel bad for Crona knowing how even after all this time, asking someone like him to give a speech in front of all Japan? Yikes…

But I'm glad the interactions went well as I actually had a hard time figuring out which future class 1-A student he should meet in his exam; but Hitoshi was one I planned given how similar they are in a few areas, and Crona having a convenient (albeit loud) method to getting out of his brainwashing. But don't think this will be the last of him since Crona's encouragement has helped him regarding his own issues.

Maka and Soul however definitely will have made some good friends with those guys, alongside a certain earjack girl. But yeah definitely had fun writing Maka tear into those villain bots despite not being into sports.

But Maka and her friends' reactions was sorta warranted since they always hoped Izuku could pull a miracle to get into U.A…only to literally pull out a quirk, lol. But all I'll say is that it's gonna be a while before Izuku says the whole story, given how much he value's Allmight's promise. Which makes keeping it from his friends all the more frustrating.

That's hard to say but I will definitely delve into their perception of Izuku and Bakugo's "complicated rivalry", but it has already slightly changed from canon given those three into the equations tended to cause some ripples.

Oh, definitely cause of Mirko coming uninvited XD.

Indeed, they are definitely gonna have some rough first impressions but regarding Aizawa's stunt…well, we'll see.

Thank you so much and hope you enjoyed this chapter before getting to U.A!

Guest/Alexia: Merci beaucoup! Mais c'est peut-être quelque chose que je devrai considérer.

Guest: Sorry it took so long, but I'm glad you enjoyed the conclusion of the arc.

It was hard to try and not make Maka and Soul overpowered at times, particularly for Crona as well, but given how those thee are leagues ahead of the rest given what they've experienced in the manga it was likely not many would be able to catch up either; barring those like Bakugo who used brute force to get a high score.

Well you're definitely on point in this chapter!

But just as discussed, Ragnarök would've helped since Hitoshi could never have predicted Crona had a living "quirk" inside of him.

Happy you had a good laugh! Though while they're keeping quiet now, they're gonna want some real answers eventually.

But don't worry, their first day at U.A is definitely going to be full of surprises and some good laughs once Aizawa tries his way of examining their potential. Especially disproving how Maka and Soul's teamwork is a double-edged sword.

Guest: we'll see in time.

Gamecubenut: wait and see…

Guest: I'm happy you feel that way! But rest assured that the ripples are finally gonna start seeding as they finally begin their enrollment in U.A.

But as for the mark that's something that will be addressed later down the line.

Dak1on: wow you're not wrong, but definitely gonna try not making chapters too long since that may be a flaw that shpild be addressed. But don't worry, Bakugo's explosive reaction here should definitely be more than expected.

Guest: here it is!

Guest/Firefly: Okay yeah you got a point there, and I will definitely be keeping that in mind since that is an issue Aizawa will be also addressing; heck it will also be what makes Maka and Soul and especially Crona struggle to adapt to being heroes as they learn the roles are a lot more different than what they would expect compared to Soul and Maka being EAT class warriors of Shibusan.

But yeah their dependence had been slightly addressed and while not as bad as the manga reached the final arcs, definitely still a problem. Even with Mirko's mentoring added to the mix. But you should expect for their arsenal to begin expanding and the duo learning to utilize their talents in new and different ways as they progress in the story.

Well just wait and see…

Thank you all for the reviews and I cannot wait to continue the next part later on! Happy Halloween everyone and have an awesome day!
