Midoriya Izuku quickly made his way down the street, not wanting to miss out on what was going on. He had headed into the city earlier that day to pick up some limited edition hero merch and just as he was about to head back to the dorms, a villain had started to make trouble and heroes came in to stop them.
When he arrived at the scene, Edgeshot and Kamui Woods were in the middle of fighting a muscle bound villain that seemed to be covered in scales and spikes and even had a club-like tail. If Izuku had to guess, the villain's quirk gave him all of the strengths and attributes of an ankylosaurus.
"Get away from me, you damn heroes!" exclaimed the villain as he swung his club tail.
Fortunately, Kamui Woods was able to ensnare the villain with his wooden branches.
"That's enough destruction from you," stated the plant-based hero.
The dinosaur-like villain let out a growl as he tried to struggle out of his bonds. "Damn it! Let me go!"
"Not going to happen," said the ninja hero as he used his Quirk to try and pierce the villain.
When Edgeshot made contact though, he was surprised by how tough the villain's skin was.
"Heh, heh, what's the matter, hero? Never faced a guy you couldn't cut before?" questioned the villain with a taunting grin.
Gathering up his strength, the villain broke his wooden prison and went to attack the shocked Kamui Woods.
At least he would have if a certain rabbit heroine didn't make an appearance and slammed her foot into the villain's stomach. While Edgeshot's "blades" couldn't pierce the villain, a strong kick from a rabbit would definitely knock the wind out of him.
"Che, I thought you'd actually be stronger than that," said Miruko in disappointment as the villain slumped to the ground. "Why the hell aren't there any strong villains around here that put up an actual fight?!"
"Yes, because that is what matters," replied Edgeshot in a deadpan tone as he made his way over to help Kamui Woods apprehend the villain.
As the heroes finished up, the people that had gathered cheered for their victory, with Izuku writing down some notes in his analysis book.
"Wretched heroes," spoke a voice next to Izuku, snapping him out of his concentration.
The greenie looked over to find a tall man standing next to him, watching the heroes. The man was wearing a tattered looking cloak with a hood that hid his face. Izuku couldn't help but shiver at the feeling the man was giving off.
'What is this? Does he have an ice-based Quirk? But why does it feel so different compared to when Todoroki uses his?' thought Izuku as he tried to figure out who this man was.
He watched as the man stepped forward, making his way towards the heroes.
"Sir, you're going to have to step back," said one of the police officers that were there to keep the citizens out of harms way. When the man kept moving forward, the officer repeated himself. "Sir, you're going to…"
The officer didn't get a chance to finish as the mystery man backhanded him away, catching the attention of the heroes.
"Well, well, looks like we got ourselves another villain trying to make a name for himself!" exclaimed Miruko, her grin becoming feral at the thought of fighting someone strong.
"The only villains around here are those who abuse their powers to torment those with none," replied the mystery man, not stopping his movement. "People like you and everyone else around here who look down on the weak and push them to their breaking point just because they're…different."
Izuku's eyes widened upon hearing this. This man's words, the way he spoke. Was this man Quirkless? If so, what was he planning to do to three of the top heroes?
"I don't know what you're trying to do, but if you plan on hurting people, we will stop you," said Kamui Woods, getting on guard.
Despite the hood hiding most of his face, a grin slowly made its way onto the man's face. "I WILL have my revenge against those like you."
"Fat chance, you bastard!" yelled out Miruko as she jumped forward to give the man a roundhouse kick to the head…only to pass right through him. "What the?!"
As Miruko crashed and burned, the man kept making his way towards the other heroes.
Izuku, much like everyone else watching, was shocked by what they saw, but he was trying to figure out what exactly happened.
'Miruko passed right through him. Does that mean this man has a Quirk similar to Togata-sempai?' thought the boy as he got ready to jump into the fray if necessary. 'But his earlier words suggest that he'd be Quirkless. Is he doing this for someone else?'
"That's enough!" declared Kamui Woods as he sent his branches towards the villain, while Edgeshot unfolded to pierce him.
Much like with Miruko's attack though, theirs went right through the man.
The man let out a laugh. "No one will ever put me down ever again."
With great speed, the man was in front of the two heroes and grabbed them by the throats. The next thing they knew was the man slamming them into the ground with enough force to knock them out.
A feral yelled sounded off from behind as Miruko tried once more to attack the villain, but she once more passed right through him.
"What the hell are you?!" demanded the rabbit as she glared at the villain.
"The one who will bring a new world order," stated the villain as his hand started to glow with a blue flame, causing Miruko's eyes to widen.
But before the man could attack…
"SMASH!" came a shout as the impact of an air bullet hit where the man was standing.
Dust and debris was kicked up by the greenie's attack and the man's cloak was blown off and landed on the ground.
"So, another decides to come forward," said the man from within the smokescreen.
"Why are you doing this?" questioned Izuku, staying on guard. "If you're doing this because someone you know was treated poorly for being Quirkless, there are better ways to help them!"
It was silent for a few moments before the man spoke again.
"Quite perceptive of you, boy, being able to figure out that Quirklessness was my motive for all of this. The only thing you got wrong though, is that it's not because of someone I know. No, I'm doing this because of how I was treated in the past."
Something was definitely off with all of this and Izuku was going to find out. "But you have a Quirk. If you didn't, you wouldn't have been to do what you did to the Pros."
A laugh echoed through the air, sending chills down everyone's spines. It felt inhuman.
"True, I do have a Quirk…now. Some Quirks won't come in unless certain conditions are met," explained the man as the smoke started to clear. "And mine didn't come in until I was pushed too far."
Once the smoke was gone, Izuku's eyes widened at what was before him. With the man's tattered cloak gone, his appearance was exposed to everyone and one thing was clear.
This man was no longer alive; the ghostly white skin, the sunken eyes, the unearthly glow around him, and the fact that he was floating slightly off the ground all pointed to this being beyond normal human comprehension.
"What's the matter, boy? You and everyone else look as if you've seen a ghost," said the man with a slight laugh. "It's sad, really. All my life I wanted a Quirk, if only to get people to leave me alone, but it got to a point that I couldn't take it anymore and decided to just…end it."
Izuku felt like he couldn't breathe, as a certain set of words from middle school resurfaced.
The man started laughing again. "But to think that my Quirk could only come in if I was dead! I now have all the powers and abilities of a ghost and I will use this Quirk to get revenge on this forsaken world for how it treated me!"
People started to run and scream in terror as the man let loose streams of ghost fire around the area. Luckily, the citizens were able to escape and Miruko was able to get Edgeshot and Kamui Woods out of harms way. Izuku on the other hand was still in the middle of the ghostly barrier, staring down the villainous ghost.
"You don't need to do this," stated Izuku, trying to negotiate with the man.
"Is that right, boy? How foolish," replied the man with a scoff before glaring at Izuku. "Some people use their Quirks to become heroes, others become villains. All use their Quirks to put the Quirkless down."
"That's not true!" exclaimed Izuku, knowing that not everyone treats the Quirkless like garbage.
"Shut up! I used to be Quirkless, one of the "lesser" beings of this world. Now though…now that I have a Quirk of my own, one that mere humans can't beat, I will bring this world to its knees and show that all of YOU are the inferior ones!"
Izuku glared at him. "I won't let you."
The man became amused again. "You know what, boy? I like you. You make me laugh with your naiveté. Because of that, I'll let you in on something. I have no plans on killing anyone. If I did, I'd take away what makes me better than all of you now. No, I believe torturing the living will suffice, so consider yourself lucky, boy."
"I'm not letting you do that!" yelled out Izuku as he prepared another air bullet.
Unfortunately, he was thrown a few feet back when the man swiped his arm forward.
"Damn brat," said the man as he watched Izuku struggle to stand. "My name is Obake Yuurei, so do remember it should we meet again."
He then disappeared, leaving behind the chaos he created and a boy who was frustrated that he couldn't stop him.
-:-
"Deku-kun! Are you alright?!"
A few hours had pass since the incident in the city. After Izuku had been checked out by paramedics and talked with police, he had finally returned to the dorms…only to be bombarded by Ochaco, Iida, Tsuyu, Todoroki, and Kirishima.
"Yeah, Midori-bro! We saw on the news of that villain that took down some Pros with ease," exclaimed Kirishima, a slight look of worry on his face. "What the hell happened?!"
Izuku walked past them and sat on the couch, not saying anything. It honestly worried everyone that he wasn't saying anything. Before they could try and coax him into speaking, he beat them to it.
"That man. If you saw the fight on the news, I don't think any Pro can defeat him," said Izuku, not looking at any of his friends or classmates. "His Quirk prevents anyone from being able to hurt him."
"How is that possible?" questioned Iida, looking confused. "Yes, he was able to defeat Edgeshot and Kamui Woods with ease, but surely there is a Pro who can take him down. Maybe Endeavor or Hawks?"
Now it was Izuku's turn to be confused as he looked up at everyone and saw their collective confusion. Did the news not report what had really happened? Probably not as Izuku thought about it; it was most likely not covered to prevent a mass hysteria.
Gulping in nervousness, he made the decision to tell them. "The reason no one can defeat him is because he's not even alive."
He told everyone the same thing Obake told him; how he was Quirkless, committed suicide because of the constant abuse, and how he gained a Quirk through death with plans on getting revenge against the living for the past abuse bestowed on him.
Needless to say, everyone in Class 1-A felt the air leave their lungs.
"W-Wait, are you seriously saying that, that guy was a real g-ghost?" asked Kaminari, hoping he heard wrong.
But Izuku nodded his head. "Yes. Obake Yuurei is an undead spirit looking for revenge against those with Quirks."
That got the class into a frenzy as they tried to make sense about this. Some tried to figure out how this could even be possible, even with Quirks in play. Others, mainly a certain shy rocker, were shaking in immense fear at the thought of a real ghost roaming around.
Unfortunately, the resident bomb boy decided to put in his own two cents.
"Everyone shut the fuck up! A villain is a fucking villain, it doesn't matter what the fuck his Quirk is!" yelled out Bakugou, glaring at everyone. "Next time he shows his fucking face, I'll kick his ass!"
These words caused a surge of anger to course through Izuku's body. Was Kacchan serious? Did he not just hear what he said earlier about what Obake is?! For possibly the first time ever, Izuku glared at Kacchan and called him out.
"Can you put away that ego of yours for once, Kacchan, and actually LISTEN?!"
Everyone stared at Izuku with wide eyes, surprised that he would talk to Bakugou like that. The ashy blond on the other hand glared right back at the greenie and looked ready to kill.
"What was that, Deku?" demanded the bomb boy in a tone that promised death.
"You heard me! We are dealing with something that is beyond our understanding! Even Pros, who are stronger and more experienced that you are, lost to this villain! What the hell makes you think you have a chance?!" yelled out Izuku. "Especially since you are the LAST person who should be anywhere near Obake!"
"The fuck is that supposed to mean?!" demanded Bakugou, his glare becoming fiercer.
But his blood ran cold at the narrow look Izuku gave him and the next words he spoke.
"Because since Obake got his Quirk from possibly, I don't know, taking a swan dive off a roof after all of the abuse for being Quirkless, you are not suited to even talking him down because of how you are when it comes to people. Understand?"
The others could feel the tension in the air as they looked back and forth between the former childhood friends. They could tell there was more to this, some even having a VERY good idea of what that was, but none dared speak up.
The standoff ended when Bakugou let out a scoff and turned around. "Whatever."
As the bomb boy left for his room, the others let out sighs of relief that they wouldn't have to deal with an explosive temper tantrum. They had worse things to deal with.
"So what are we going to do?" asked Todoroki, catching everyone's attention. "If we are truly dealing with a supernatural force, how can we beat it?"
"Yeah, how do you even capture a ghost?" asked Kirishima.
As the teens tried to come up with plans and theories of how to beat Obake, Kirishima's words echoed through Izuku's mind.
Capture a ghost.
The greenie's mind went a mile a minute as his thoughts went to a possibility that could work. He just needed help from certain individuals to make it happen.
Standing up and running out of the room, much to the surprise of his classmates, he went to his room to grab something before running back to the commons room and out the door, ignoring the others calling him back.
He ran all the way to the support department, hoping that the one person who can help start this plan was there. Who was he kidding? Of course she was there. She practically lived there.
Slamming the door open, he was greeted by the eccentric pink-haired inventor that was Hatsume Mei.
"Midoriya! Are you here to help test out some of my babies?!" she questioned as she tried to pounce on her favorite customer.
Unfortunately for her, she didn't get far as Izuku stopped her, causing her to frown in confusion. She grew even more confused when Izuku held up what looked like a DVD case.
"I need you to build some equipment for me."
She beamed in happiness at the chance to build something. Seeing the serious look on Izuku's face though, told her that this wasn't going to be the run of the mill support gear. Listening carefully to what the boy before her was saying, she nodded in understanding and got started on the research needed before she could start building.
"Don't worry, Midoriya! You can count on me!" exclaimed Hatsume with a grin as she took the DVD from the boy.
"Arigatou, Hatsume. You're a lifesaver," replied Izuku as he pulled out his cellphone to send a message to the other person who can help him with this plan.
He really hoped this would work.
-:-
It had been a few weeks since Izuku first went to Hatsume for her assistance. With what he asked of her, he knew he had to be patient. That didn't mean he just sat around twiddling his thumbs though. With the knowledge he had on the equipment needed, he would occasionally visit and help Hatsume, much to her appreciation.
Unfortunately, in that time, Obake was causing more and more trouble and none of the Pros could stop him. Not even Eraserhead, who had been called in because of his Quirk, could stop the ghostly villain. This did confirm though that Obake's Quirk was a type of mutation instead of being an emitter or transformation type.
Right now though, Izuku was in his room getting ready for bed. Tomorrow was the big day, as Hatsume will have finished building his equipment. As much as he would have liked to have time to test them, he needed to stop Obake as soon as possible.
Just as he was about to get into bed, a soft knock sounded on the door. Wondering who it could be this late at night, he went over and opened the door. Seeing who it was, he should have known he was going to have this conversation before he set off, especially since they've been dating in secret for a while now.
"H-Hey," she said, twirling one of her earphone jacks, a sign he learned that showed she was nervous. "C-Can I come in?"
He stood to the side to let her in. Once she was inside his room, he closed the door and locked it so no one else could disturb them. "Is something wrong, Kyouka?"
She cut right to the point as she turned to look at him. "You're going after that g-ghost, aren't you?"
He didn't even try to lie to her. Never her. "I am. I have to do this."
"Why? What makes you think you can beat him this time? I saw the last fight on the news, remember?! What he did to the Pros and then when you jumped into it, I thought…"
She couldn't finish as he brought her into his arms and held her close. He could feel her shaking, so he rubbed her back as a way to calm her down.
"Nothing's going to happen to me. I won't let it," stated Izuku, his hold on her tightening. "I will come back to you tomorrow, Kyouka."
Her arms wrapped around him to return the hug as she held him like a lifeline. "How do you even plan on fighting him? Is that why you've been visiting Hatsume lately and been ignoring everyone when they ask you what you've been doing?"
She raised an eyebrow in question when she saw the slight blush appear on his face. If she were anyone else, she would think Izuku was having an affair with Hatsume, but she knew her greenie better than that.
"J-Just let me explain everything before you say anything else."
Well that didn't sound good. Kyouka was afraid of what Izuku was going to say, but her confusion became apparent when the boy pulled out a DVD and showed it to her.
"Ghostbusters?" she questioned wondering what this had to do with anything.
"It's a movie from the Pre-Quirk Era about a group of ghost exterminators who go around capturing ghosts," explained Izuku. "I figured with the technology we have today thanks to Quirks, Hatsume could build real working ghost capturing equipment that I can use to fight Obake."
It was silent as Kyouka took in what Izuku was saying. Once it was fully processed though, she flicked him on the forehead with her earphone jack as she glared at him.
"Are you insane?! What makes you think this will work?!" she demanded.
"Ow!" yelped Izuku as he rubbed the spot she flicked. "But Kyouka!"
"What'll happen if you go out there and your plan doesn't work?" she questioned, cutting him off.
"Then we move to Plan B," replied the boy as he took out his cellphone and showed his text messages. "After I asked Hatsume to start building the equipment, I contacted Tokoyami since he knows more about spirits and the occult than I do. This whole time he's been coming up with a plan that we can use if mine fails."
Kyouka raised an eyebrow at this. "So Tokoyami's been in on this the whole time?"
Izuku rubbed the back of his head. "Pretty much. Normally I don't like the idea of dragging my friends into danger, but I know I'm going to need help with this."
"…Well, at least I know you'll have someone watching your back," said Kyouka with a sigh, but she still felt worried over the whole situation. "I'm guessing no one else, not even the teachers, knows about this?"
"…There's a good chance Principal Nezu might know. He seems to know everything that goes on around here."
The purplette could only rub her temples in an attempt to stop the oncoming migraine. "This is seriously a bad idea, Izu-kun."
He brought her back into his arms and held her close. "I'll repeat what I said earlier; nothing's going to happen to me. Tokoyami and I are going to stop Obake and then we'll come home. I promise."
"You better keep that promise," she mumbled into his chest. "…Izu-kun?"
"Hm?"
"C-Can I stay with you for the night? Please?"
He just gave her that smile she fell in love with. "Since when do you have to ask?"
With a smile of her own, Kyouka stood on her tiptoes to give her greenie a kiss before she made her way over to his dresser and took out one of his "t-shirt" shirts. Izuku had to quickly look away, blushing all the while as his girlfriend changed out her clothes and into his shirt.
When he turned back after she was done changing, he could only stand there and stare, causing her to fidget.
"Wh-What?" she asked in nervousness.
"…H-Have I ever told you how s-sexy you look when you're w-wearing my shirts?" replied Izuku, his blush diminished to a light dusting.
Now it was Kyouka's turn to blush a raging inferno, letting out a quick "eep" in the process. "I-I-Izu-kun!"
He couldn't help but chuckle. Kyouka was adorable when she got all shy like this. Gently grabbing her hand, he led her to the bed where they got under the covers and Kyouka snuggled against him.
"Goodnight, my beautiful Kyouka," said Izuku, his arms around her protectively.
She hid her face once more in his chest to hide her blush. "Goodnight, Izu-kun."
Sleep soon took over. While tomorrow was a big day for Izuku, he would worry about that in the morning. Right now, his focus was on sleep and the woman in his arms.
-:-
"Are you ready for this, Midoriya?"
Izuku nodded as he and Tokoyami made their way to meet with Hatsume in the early morning. The two were currently in their hero costumes, having retrieved them the day before for their mission. On the way, Izuku was going everything in his head. He really hoped that the equipment will work. While he trusted Tokoyami and his own plan wholeheartedly, he wanted to stop Obake right away.
They soon arrived at the support department and entered, greeted by an energetic Hatsume.
"About time you got here, Midoriya! Everything is ready!"
"I really appreciate this, Hatsume," replied Izuku as he and Tokoyami looked over the ghostbusting equipment.
Four Proton Packs, each with a Particle Thrower, a Ghost Trap, and a P.K.E. Meter, all necessary to find Obake. Although Izuku suspected two of these sets were extras, just in case something happened to his and Tokoyami's main ones.
"It's impressive how you were able to bring something from a movie into reality," added Tokoyami, impressed.
Hatsume let out a giggle at this. "Well I can't call myself an inventor if I can't do something like this!"
Not arguing that, Izuku and Tokoyami was about to grab their gear and head out, but the door slamming open caused them to pause and see who it could have been. Izuku was worried that it was one of the teachers, but became confused when he saw that it was Kyouka…dragging Kaminari in behind her while being followed by a confused Kirishima.
"K-Kyouka?" questioned Izuku, wondering what she was doing here.
She pushed Kaminari forward before crossing her arms and giving her greenie a narrowed look. "These two are going to help you."
The greenie, the raven, and the redhead each raised an eyebrow, while Kaminari rubbed his wrist now that he was free from Kyouka's death grip.
"Okay, seriously, what the hell is going on?!" demanded Kaminari. "I just woke up and made it downstairs when Jirou started dragging me out of the dorms and told Kirishima to follow!"
"Yeah, Midori-bro, what gives?" asked Kirishima. He then caught sight of the devices on the table. "And what's all this?"
Tokoyami glanced at Izuku. "Should we tell them?"
"I'd rather not," replied the fluffy-haired boy.
This only made Kyouka roll her eyes. "Long story short, Izuku had Hatsume build working ghost capturing gear and he and Tokoyami are going to go capture that ghost villain that's been running amok."
Upon hearing this, Kaminari had a blank look on his face, while Kirishima's eyes lit up.
"Oh hell yeah! Count me in then!" exclaimed the redhead as he grabbed a Proton Pack and strapped it on.
"Hold on! Why are you dragging me into this?!" questioned the electric blond as he looked at Kyouka with wide eyes. "Why not get Todoroki or even Bakugou to help them?!"
"Because you got downstairs first, Jamming Yay! And you know damn well Bakugou would refuse to help!" yelled Kyouka as she glared at the blond, causing him to shirk back in fear. "Now get your ass geared up and help!"
"Y-Yes, ma'am!" squeaked out Kaminari as he quickly grabbed a Proton Pack. "Holy shit this is heavy!"
As Kyouka continued to glare at Kaminari, Tokoyami glanced over at Izuku once more.
"It seems Jirou is quite protective of you, Midoriya," he said, quiet enough that only Izuku could hear.
A blush appeared on Izuku's face as he rubbed the back of his head. "Y-Yeah, she is."
"So these things can really catch a ghost?" questioned Kirishima as he looked over his Particle Thrower. Since he had no idea how to use this thing yet, he'd wait for Midori-bro to explain it before pressing anything.
"It should!" exclaimed Hatsume. "Not only did I send out drones to discreetly analyze Obake's ecto energy signatures so the packs can be tuned to his frequency, but they are powered by nuclear power cells!"
That caused Kyouka, Kirishima, and Kaminari to tense up and look at the inventor with blank looks.
"…Can you repeat that, Hatsume?" asked Kyouka.
The pink-haired girl nodded. "Yup! Going by the information I had, these things are nuclear powered, which will allow you to keep the ghost in place before trapping them. Luckily I was able to get some power cells by telling our suppliers that there was a student with a nuclear based Quirk and the cells would help them out!"
Hearing this, Kyouka cast a glare at her boyfriend. "If that ghost doesn't kill you, Izuku, I will!"
The boy could only let out a nervous laugh. She might be shy, quiet, and aloof most of the time, but when Jirou Kyouka gets mad, she gets MAD.
Luckily, the raven swooped in to save the day.
"I believe we need to get going," stated Tokoyami as he strapped on a Proton Pack with Dark Shadow's assistance. "The more time we waste here, the more terror Obake sows."
"Yeah, and just how are we supposed to get where that ghost villain is?" questioned Kaminari; really wishing he stayed in bed.
The grin that Hatsume gave off didn't help matters either.
-:-
Sirens sounded off as the vehicle sped down the street, the driver following the P.K.E. Meter to find Obake.
"I don't know what's more surprising; the fact that Hatsume actually built a CAR for Midoriya or the fact that Midoriya actually has a DRIVER'S LICENSE," stated Kaminari as he sat in the back of the tricked out ambulance.
"How'd you get a license anyway, Midori-bro?" asked Kirishima, also sitting in the back.
"All Might taught me how to drive and then took me to get my license a while back," replied Izuku from the driver's seat. "He said that heroes shouldn't have to use their Quirks all the time to get around and driving takes less energy."
"It definitely comes in handy for those without Quirks made for travel," added Tokoyami from the passenger seat.
"Says the two who can fly," muttered out the electric blond with a grimace.
"Do you think All Might would be willing to teach me how to drive, Midori-bro?"
"We'll find out later, Kirishima. Right now we need to go over the plan on how to catch Obake," said Izuku, keeping his eyes on the road. "Now I already explained how to use the equipment and that there will be some push back from the Proton Streams."
"Scaring us in the process when you told us what'll happen if we cross the streams," said Kaminari with a frown.
Izuku ignored him for now. "For capturing Obake, I'm going to lure him into position. He thinks he's unstoppable thanks to his Quirk and add the fact that this equipment is based on a Pre-Quirk Era movie…"
"Wait, what?" questioned Kaminari, staring at the greenie with wide eyes.
"Chances are in our favor since Obake will undoubtedly have no idea that we have the advantage," continued Izuku, again ignoring Kaminari.
"So how exactly are you going to lure Obake to where we need him?" asked Kirishima.
Tokoyami took this one. "Midoriya is planning to fight him as if he is a normal villain and try to get Obake to chase him. Given Obake's ego and quest for vengeance, he will most likely get annoyed with Izuku's attempts to stop him."
"Why do I get the feeling we're all going to die?"
"Ah, don't be like that, Kami-bro!" laughed Kirishima. "When has Midori-bro's plans ever failed?"
"This is different!"
"We're here," said Izuku, stopping any further complaints from Kaminari.
Pulling over, the four got out, but didn't see Obake anywhere.
"Where is he?" wondered Kirishima, getting on guard.
"He's still further up ahead," explained Izuku. "If we went any further we would have alerted him, so I'm going on ahead alone to get the plan started. Tokoyami, can you lead Kirishima and Kaminari to where they need to go?"
"Of course," replied the raven.
With a nod, Izuku activated Full Cowl and sped on ahead, while Tokoyami explained the rest of the plan to the others.
"I got to say, Bro-koyami, you and Midori-bro are a pretty good team," said Kirishima as he and Kaminari followed the bird-headed boy.
"Midoriya is the light and I am the darkness. One side cannot exist without the other and they work as a balance of the universe, so it is only natural that Midoriya and I are able to work in-sync so well," explained Tokoyami.
"Kinda like me and Baku-bro!"
"…I would not go that far, Kirishima," stated Tokoyami with a grimace.
With Izuku, he was fast approaching Obake, who was currently terrorizing civilians that he had cornered.
"It's so satisfying seeing the fear on the faces of the living," said Obake, a malicious grin on his face as he stalked closer to the terrified humans. "Scream for me!"
Before he could attack, black tendrils whipped towards the civilians and wrapped around them, pulling them away from Obake.
"Get to safety!" exclaimed Izuku as he deactivated Blackwhip, releasing the civilians.
They didn't need to be told again as they ran as fast as they could away from the scene. With his would be victims now gone, Obake grit his teeth as he glared at Izuku.
"You. Did you forget the last time we met, boy? I outclass you in every way," stated the ghostly villain.
"That's where you're wrong, Obake. As a hero it is my duty to stop villains like you and I will not fail," replied Izuku, glaring right back.
This only caused Obake to laugh. "You must be a cocky brat if you think you can do what actual Pros couldn't! You truly are no different from everyone else, thinking that because you have a Quirk that you can push others around."
Izuku could have pointed out the hypocrisy of that statement, but there were more important things to do. He immediately sent a few air bullets at Obake, but much like last time they just passed right through him.
"Did you really think that would work?" questioned the ghost, only for another set of air bullets to come his way and kicking up dust and debris.
"Worked that time!" called out Izuku, with a smirk. He wasn't one to taunt his opponents, but he needed to get Obake to focus on him.
When the smoke cleared, Obake was once more glaring at Izuku.
"You are starting to annoy me, boy!" he exclaimed as he sent a stream of ghost fire towards the greenie.
With a combination of Full Cowl and Blackwhip, Izuku was able to easily dodge the attack.
"You missed!"
Letting out a growl, Obake fired another stream, only for it to be dodged again. "Stand still, boy!"
"Make me!" replied Izuku as he started make his way to meet the others with Obake right on his tail.
As the chase went on, Izuku continued to dodge Obake's attacks, which only caused the ghost become angrier and angrier. The boy was glad that the plan was working the way he wanted, so he only hoped that it would end on a good note as well.
Izuku took note of his surroundings and saw Kirishima in a nearby alley, with Kaminari in the alley right across the street. He also caught a glimpse of Tokoyami on one of the nearby rooftops. Once he was in his own position, he stopped and turned to face Obake.
Obake glared hatefully at the young hero. "You are driving my patience, boy."
"What's the matter, Obake?" started Izuku, not backing down. "I thought you were supposed to be unstoppable, yet here I am giving you trouble."
Limits had been reached.
"You know, boy, I had told you before that I had no intention of killing anyone, but I think I'll make an exception with you! I'll enjoy torturing your soul for all eternity!" yelled out Obake, his voice a ghostly echo.
Ghost fire then appeared all over Obake's body and Izuku was surprised when the villain started to change. His body started to grow, becoming more muscular. His arms lengthened and his hands became more claw-like. His legs changed into a ghost-like tail. Lastly, his face took on a more decayed looking appearance.
All in all, Obake no longer looked human.
"YoU WiLl DiE!" wailed the now monstrous villain as he flew towards Izuku.
Once Obake was just close enough, Izuku gave the signal.
"Now!" he yelled out as he grabbed his Particle Thrower and turned it on, blasting Obake.
Tokoyami, Kirishima, and Kaminari didn't waste time in joining in on keeping Obake in place.
"WhAt ArE yOu DoInG?! HoW iS tHiS PoSsIbLe?!" screamed out Obake as he struggled to escape the four Proton Streams that held him in place.
"No Quirk is invincible, Obake," replied Izuku, keeping the stream trained on his opponent. Still holding his Particle Thrower with one hand, he used the other to reach back to grab his Ghost Trap. "It's just too bad you had to choose this path and learn that the hard way."
Izuku then threw the Trap where it landed right under Obake. Once in place, Izuku stepped on the trigger, activating the Trap.
"No! I WaS SuPpOsEd To GeT mY ReVeNgE On ThIs WrEtChEd WoRlD!" exclaimed Obake as he now fought the suction of the Trap. "CuRsE YoU HeRoEs!"
With that final yell, Obake was sucked into the trap where he would no longer cause anyone harm ever again. With Obake defeated, the four teens turned off their Particle Throwers and made their way over to the smoking Trap.
"We did it!" celebrated Kirishima, giving off a sharp-toothed grin.
"We really did!" added Kaminari, unable to believe it, but just as happy as his redheaded friend.
Tokoyami looked over at Izuku when the greenie reached them. "So what now, Midoriya?"
"Now," started Izuku as he reached down to grab the Trap. He then gave off a smile as he held it up. "Now we head home."

The Ecto-1 replica pulled up to the UA dorms where the rest of Class 1-A was waiting. If Izuku had to guess, their battle with Obake must have been broadcasted on the news.
"Midoriya/Midori/Deku-kun!" came the calls of his classmates as he and the others got out of the car.
Before the boys could make their way to the rest of their friends, a purple blur ran forward and glomped onto Izuku, much to the surprise of everyone.
"Izu-kun," said Kyouka, her arms wrapped around his shoulders as she stood on her tiptoes to reach him.
"Hey, Kyouka. I promised I'd come back to you, didn't I?" replied Izuku with a small smile. It was then that he remembered that they weren't alone. "Ano, K-Kyouka? Everyone's staring."
"Don't care," came the muffled response as her hold on him tightened, afraid that he would disappear if she let go.
A slight laugh escaped Izuku as he wrapped an arm around her waist and whispered soothing words into her ear.
Of course the first person to speak up was the resident fluffy alien with a gasp. "You've been dating behind our backs!"
"That would explain why Jirou wanted us to go with them," said Kirishima turning to Kaminari.
"What the hell, Jirou?! You could have just told us why you REALLY wanted us to go with Midoriya!" exclaimed Kaminari, only to receive the bird from the purplette.
Everyone else was demanding answers, whether about the fight with Obake or about Izuku and Kyouka's newly revealed relationship (the latter of which was mainly from Mina, Momo, and Ochaco), but Izuku halted their efforts.
"All questions will be answered later. Right now, we need to get to the support department," replied the greenie. "Kyouka, you'll need to let go."
"I don't wanna."
"You can hold onto my arm, but I need to be able to move," explained Izuku with another laugh.
The compromise was made as Kyouka released the hug, but immediately latched onto her man's arm. She glared at anyone (namely Kaminari, Mina, and Iida) who would dare say anything.
Izuku, Kyouka, and Tokoyami then started their way towards the support department with the rest of the class following behind. When they reached and entered the building, they were expecting only Hatsume, but to see Principal Nezu, Aizawa-sensei, All Might, Present Mic, Midnight, and Power Loader there as well made most of the students worried.
Before any of the teachers could say anything, Izuku beat them to the punch.
"You knew what I was doing the entire time, didn't you?" asked the boy as he looked directly at Nezu.
The rodent's usual smile widened slightly. "I did and I must say I am impressed with the initiative you've shown, Midoriya-san."
"Something needed to be done, sir, and this was really the only way," replied Izuku.
"Yet you felt the need to keep this a secret, Midoriya," added Aizawa, giving the boy a narrowed look. "Any reason why?"
"…There was a very high chance you would have shut the whole thing down if you had known, Aizawa-sensei," explained the boy, while Kyouka gave the insomniac man a slight glare. "With Principal Nezu, it was fifty-fifty. He would either shut it down or understand that this needed to be done to stop Obake."
"He's got you pegged, Shouta," said Mic with a grin, causing Aizawa to glare at him. Midnight could only giggle at her former kohai.
Power Loader let out a sigh before turning to his own student. "It would explain the secrecy you've been showing lately, Hatsume."
The eccentric inventor gave off a beaming smile "Discretion is the better part of valor, Sensei!"
"…I don't think that saying fits this situation, Hatsume."
While Power Loader dealt with Hatsume, All Might stepped up to say something to his boy. He would have asked why Young Jirou was latched onto the boy's arm, but first…
"I'm very proud of you, my boy. You and your friends were able to stop a villain that the Pros could not."
This caused emerald green eyes to light up at the praise from his mentor and father figure. "A-Arigatou, All Might."
The retired hero gave off a grin before ruffling his boy's hair. "You're welcome, my boy. Now what exactly are you going to do with that villain now that he's been captured?"
"Oh, that's easy. Hatsume?" questioned Izuku, turning to the pink-haired girl.
Whipping out a remote control, Hatsume pressed a button, which caused the wall of the building to open up and reveal a large mechanical marvel that was to have been built into it. Needless to say, those who were not in the know from the beginning stared at it wide-eyed.
"…How the hell did you manage this behind my back?!" demanded Power Loader, already feeling the usual migraine Hatsume causes him.
With Kyouka still latched onto his arm, Izuku stepped forward to explain. "This is the Containment Unit. This is where captured ghosts go, so think of it as a prison for ghosts."
"How do you know it works?" asked Todoroki, looking at his best friend.
"We're about to find out," replied Izuku as he opened up the panel. Once open, he slid the Trap inside, disconnected the trap from the handle, and then closed and locked it before pulling a nearby lever. The red light flashed a few times before turning green. "There. Obake is now in the Containment Unit."
He then turned on a nearby monitor screen that he had Hatsume install that would allow anyone to see what was going on in the Containment Unit. Everyone was surprised to see Obake in a void, cursing the world.
"Quite impressive," said Nezu.
"My boy, where exactly did you come up with all of this anyway?" asked All Might, gesturing towards the ghost hunting equipment.
"Would you believe Midoriya apparently got it from some movie from the Pre-Quirk Era," replied Kaminari as he took his Proton Pack off and placed it on the nearby table. "We could have died if this stuff didn't work!"
"Can you shut the hell up, Jamming Yay?! You're alive, aren't you?!" yelled out Kyouka, getting tired of his whining.
Seeing the blank looks he was getting from his teachers and classmates, Izuku let out a nervous laugh before he explained the same thing he told Kyouka last night.
"…Aizawa-san, why have you not told me of Midoriya-san's genius?" questioned Nezu, looking up at the Erasure Hero.
"…What?" was the only response the man could give.
Nezu let out a hum. "Yes, it is quite genius to be able to come up with an idea like this. I might take Midoriya-san on as a personal student because of this."
All of the teachers shuddered at the thought of another Nezu running around. Luckily, Izuku saved them.
"Th-That's okay, Principal Nezu. Y-You don't need to do that. Besides, All Might and Aizawa-sensei have been great teachers."
While he didn't show it, Nezu was slightly disappointed that he didn't get a new apprentice.
"So what's next, Midori-bro?" asked Kirishima, placing his Proton Pack next to Kaminari's.
"I'll tell you what's next!" exclaimed Mina, interjecting. "Midori and Kyouka-chan's going to tell us about their relationship!"
This caused the shy couple to blush brightly.
"Yes, tell us all about it, like how and when you got together," said Ochaco, giving Kyouka a narrowed look full of anger and jealousy.
Kyouka gave the anti-gravity girl a glare of her own.
"That's enough, all of you," ordered Aizawa, pinching the bridge of his nose in frustration as he prevented Ochaco from getting answers. "It's been a long day."
"Agreed and I believe the best way to unwind is with a movie," added Nezu, earning looks from everyone else. He then turned to Izuku. "Midoriya-san, I am quite curious about this movie that inspired all of this, so if you would be so kind as to retrieve it I can set up the auditorium for everyone to watch it."
Most of the students cheered at the idea of movie night, while others and the teachers were confused.
"Sir, with all due respect, but why?" questioned Aizawa.
Nezu let out a chuckle before answering. "It could come in handy in the future should another ghost-like villain decides to appear. Which reminds me…Aizawa, go fetch Class 1-B for movie night. They should learn from this as well."
With that, the students quickly returned to the dorms to retrieve various snacks for movie night, while Izuku went to get the movie to hand to Nezu once he arrived at the auditorium. As he did, Nezu's words about the possibility of more ghost villains coming around worried him slightly.
Luckily, he, Tokoyami, Kirishima, and Kaminari will be prepared should that happen.

What better way to celebrate Halloween than with Ghostbuster flare? I've actually had the idea for a MHA/GB crossover for a while now and finally managed to work it out.
If I had to designate who is who, Izuku would obviously be Egon (the brainiac), Kirishima would be Ray (the optimist), and Kaminari would be Peter (the ladies' man). The Winston equivalent was the one that gave me trouble before I realized that it didn't have to be EXACTLY like Winston, which is where Tokoyami comes in. Whereas Winston is the skeptic learning from three experts, Tokoyami is the expert teaching the other three about the supernatural and paranormal. Kyouka would definitely be Janine; both are sassy and in love with the nerd of the group.
Anyway, this one-shot is done, but I might make more "episodes" in the future. I already have an idea in mind for their next job and without giving too much away…it involves going to Mie to deal with a curse.
