Want new, innovative ways to RIP AND TEAR and KICK ASSES? Look no further than what I'm about to show you!

This is a crossover concept I hastily cobbled together when I got fatigue from doing too much Starhammer 50k.

Potato Productions Presents: Zenith's Wrath

An idea for a Doom mod based on the NES Godzilla Creepypasta (with a lot of other cool stuff thrown in for good measure)

Author's note: I recently got into Doom, I'm not as familiar with the lore, but I DO KNOW that the Doom Slayer became a godlike being in Doom Eternal, and is ridiculously OP.

Alongside Wolfenstein and Quake, Doom is arguably the GOAT of FPS games. It is also one of the most heavily modded titles out there, with an entire community devoted to enhancing the badass experience, and it is able to run on pretty much every platform you can think of (including a calculator.)

And yet for some reason, nobody has made a gameplay mod that brings together ALL the most famous demon-destroying characters. Well, today, we're gonna fix that mistake, and provide you with the DEFINITIVE PARAMOUNT FPS EXPERIENCE, now with 1000% more DND monsters, 100 times the weaponry and a multitude of character classes! Oh, and Hell has a different moniker in this game, thanks to the NES Godzilla Creepypasta.

Introducing:

The ultimate simulator for eviscerating demons, fiends, devils, aberrations, cosmic horrors, dragons, evil spirits, undead, monsters of the ocean depths, and other underworld scum!

This prologue will have two parts: An exposition for the plot of Zenith's Wrath, and a description of the playable characters.

Part 1: The Plot So Far

In an alternate version of Godzilla monster lore, there exists a system of six planets orbiting the triple stars of Alpha Centauri, the closest neighboring solar system to our own Sun, all of which are inhabited, with their own unique Kaiju species as well. The first five of these planets, in order are:

Pathos, a rugged world covered in blue mountains and penetrated to its core by fungal honeycomb caverns.

Trance, a jungle paradise where bizarre alien temple structures stand tall.

Dementia, a frigid arctic landscape with frozen oceans, glacial lakes, and blue castles.

Entropy, a very Earth-like place with a wide variety of biomes, which are slowly being stripped away and polluted by alien industrial activity.

Extus, a post-apocalyptic realm hosting abandoned cities, complex laboratories, pyramids, and temples.

While these worlds could certainly be frightening and dangerous, even for prepared newcomers, they all paled in comparison to the horrors of the sixth planet of Alpha Centauri, the tragedy known as Zenith.

The planet of Zenith is a never-ending hellish nightmare stretching beyond the comprehension of mortal men, a twisted mockery of nature where the laws of physics themselves have been violently broken.

Haunted mountains of bone, valleys made of rotten flesh and organs, fungal forests feeding on said rotten flesh, plateaus comprised from red glitched text spelling "KILL," infernal oceans filled with lava, regular oceans deeper than the Mariana Trench, lakes and rivers of blood, ecosystems sustained by black colored plants instead of earthly green ones, disease-ridden catacombs, toxic waste swamps, and fathomless pits of mold, worms and spores are all features present on Zenith, for it is truly a place where everyone's worst fears are made manifest.

The fact that all this and more is positioned in our interstellar next-door neighbor's backyard (Alpha Centauri) has raised alarm amongst the unified militaries of Earth, which just got done putting Godzilla, Mothra, King Kong, and all the other Kaiju back to sleep in hibernation. How are we supposed to fight against an entire army of terrifying titans when we can't even deal with our own monsters?

Speaking of which...

The creatures that inhabit the different locales of Zenith vary to a bewildering degree, from tiny finger-length maggots feasting on dead meat to ineffably horrifying abominations bigger than Godzilla himself.

And perhaps the worst news yet for mankind is... these beasts even have a leader.

The big Red One, the Hellbeast, the one they call Lord Zalgo. But he's better known as just plain old RED. DO NOT call him Clifford, this is what pisses him off the most.

Understandably, we needed a plan to fight these infernal bastards in case they chose to invade Earth. Unfortunately, even all of our modern weapons combined would probably only put a small dent in the horde's numbers, and it's not like Godzilla and crew were able to help.

It seemed like Earth was marked for destruction, and all was soon to be lost...

...However, a bunch of preachers and zealots from all different religions, priests, rabbis, imams, pujaris, and monks, came together with a brilliant idea in mind to save humanity:

Since the current greatest threat to civilization was essentially an all-out attack from the forces of Hell, why not perform a holy ritual and get God's attention, to see what divinity had to say about the situation? Surely Heaven had an answer to this problem! Slaying demons should be considered a holy task!

So the preachers and zealots got together in one house of worship, united in their common interest, and began bawling their eyes out, begging for something to give them hope as the skies turned red and the seas filled with blood.

And... their prayers were answered.

Whatever unknown divine being these religious men and women had put their trust in was certainly opposed to Red and his army, and all in favor of saving humanity, because just after the praying stopped, a RADIANT FLASH occurred, blinding everyone temporarily, and when the folks could see again, a whole platoon of individuals famous across the multiverse for their anti-demon exploits was standing directly in front of the crowd.

Part 2: Character Classes

The Demon Slayer Corps, hailing from a parallel universe known as Fanfictasia, are humanity's new first and last line of defense against the hordes of Zenith. Let's get to know some of the organization's members, that way you'll have a basic understanding of who your comrades in arms are, and what roles they fulfill.

Some key information about your arsenal:

Every character in the mod has four categories of weapons, each tier deadlier and more potent than the last. In order from weakest to strongest, these are Normal, Special, Rare, and Epic. This gimmick is used to make the gameplay drastically different from Doom 2016 and Doom Eternal, changing around the power of the weaponry and either buffing or nerfing every single gun.

The Doom Slayer/Doomguy/Doom Marine:

His role as the angriest main protagonist ever will be respected in Zenith's Wrath. Leading the Demon Slayer regiments in their high-stakes missions against the forces of Hell, he is skilled with virtually any type of weapon, and can ascend to godly status simply by getting too angry, kind of like the Hulk.

Although it's hard to blame this man for being so enraged- remember, he lost everything from his home to his family and even his pet rabbit Daisy, because of what the demons did.

Gameplay wise, Doomguy hasn't changed much from the original Doom 2016 release. He gets all the usual armaments: (listed below)

Standard weapons: Pistol, chainsaw, shotgun, fists, chaingun, rocket launcher, plasma gun

Special weapons: Super shotgun, Unmaker, burst rifle, frag grenade, gauss cannon, heavy assault rifle, hellshot, hologram projector, kinetic mine, lightning gun

Rare weapons: Mark V pistol, personal teleporter, The Reaper, shield wall, siphon grenade, static cannon, Tesla rocket, threat sensor, Vortex rifle

Epic weapons: Crucible, The BFG 9000, Ballista, heavy rotary cannon, Unmakyr

Yes, literally all the good shit from Doom Eternal and Doom 2016 makes a return in Zenith's Wrath.

Moving on, since I don't have much time left to write more in this prologue and introduction, I'll give you some peculiar hints to which crossover characters are playable in the Zenith's Wrath mod:

The chosen knight of a Goddess, who wields the blade that banishes evil...

A shadowy witch who uses her own hair as clothing and normally kills angels instead of demons...

A half-demon mercenary and private investigator, who carries an enormous variety of weapons with him, for making the devils of the underworld cry...

Anime Little Red Riding Hood, brandishing an enormous harvesting tool which is also a gun...

A desperate boy trying to save his cursed sister, master of swordsmanship and katana magic, and newest member of the team...

A certain Grey Knight who was determined enough to banish a demonic demigod, hailing from the grim darkness of the far future...

The famous exorcist and master of the dark arts from the DC Comics multiverse who operates in Los Angeles...

Another manga swordsman, but one who relies on brute force, raw power, and having the STOMACH to endure everything that gets thrown at him... so what's another word for stomach?

The dark elf ranger from the Forgotten Realms, who rejected the heinous ways and tyranny perpetrated by his race, seeking to make his own destiny and to fight for a righteous cause...

If you in the audience figured out which characters I was referring to in my hints, then you already know the identities of the heroes coming to Earth's aid. (The Earth in the Godzilla Kaiju franchise, that is.)

Now I just have to make a way for these characters to square up with giant monsters... oh, wait! We already have machines designed to hunt monsters!

Not sure how this will turn into a story yet, but I just wanted to share my thoughts on a mod for the more recent Doom games, since Doom is one of the most heavily modded titles in video game history, right up there with Minecraft, Grand Theft Auto, Garry's Mod, Skyrim, and Super Smash Brothers.

Happy Halloween to everyone who celebrates it! The end of fall and the beginning of winter is here, 'tis the season for scary stories to tell in the dark!
