Trigger Warning: Mentions Of Torture

Rosalie is sitting with her back to the door when she hears it open. Looking over her shoulder, she sees a young, blonde woman walk in and giving her a smile, before telling her that her name is Dr. Kate Heightmeyer. She asks Rosalie if they can talk, to which she just nods.

Rosalie watches Dr. Heightmeyer pull up a chair and placing it across from her, before sitting down. She takes a deep breath, knowing all about what is going to happen. This wasn't Rosalie's first psych eval, and she is sure that after everything she has gone through, it wasn't going to be her last.

-"Rosalie, may I call you Rosalie?"

-"Sure."

-"Thank you. Rosalie, can you tell me how long you were with the SGC?"

-"About five years."

-"And what did you do there, exactly?"

-"I was a linguistics and technology expert. I helped Dr. Daniel Jackson with translating Goa'uld text into English and sometimes the other way around as well. I also helped Major Samantha Carter with all the Goa'uld, and a few other races, technology, figuring out how it worked and how we could make it work for us, in the case of the Goa'uld technology, at least."

"I would sometimes go off-world as well, with SG teams, whenever they found something that needed to be translated. But that mostly happened whenever Daniel was off-world himself. Once communication with Atlantis was established, I started to learn Ancient language, as well as how their technology worked."

-"Did you like your job?"

-"I did. It was always different and challenging. It was never boring, that's for sure."

-"What about your family and friends? Were they okay with you having such a secretive job?"

-"I don't have any family left alive, and as far as friends go, well, they were all at the SGC."

-"Talking about friends at the SGC, Colonel Sheppard mentioned that you were friends with Major Lorne. Can you tell me about that?"

-"Sure. Evan was my best friend back home. He knew me better than anyone." - Rosalie smiles sadly, remembering Evan.

-"How did you meet and become such good friends?"

-"I was assigned to go off-world with his team. But things went sideways and we were captured by a Goa'uld named Ogma. He wanted information on Earth, so he sent his torturer Talek to get that information out of us. Talek chose me, and when Evan tried to trade places with me, Talek decided to take us both. I don't know how long it lasted, but he tortured me and would beat Evan up every time he would try to stop him."

"I was in rough shape and Evan made a deal with me, to help me keep fighting. It was such a stupid deal, that once we got home we would eat my favorite pizza and ice cream, but it worked. Not because of the food, but because I saw the determination in his eyes to get me home. After we were rescued, we became close, due to all that we went through." - Rosalie explains, playing with the necklace that Evan gave her.

-"You said that he has passed?"

-"I was scanning through the latest mission reports when I read that he had been killed in action."

-"Was that the only report you read?

-"Yeah. That was the only one I got a chance to read because the next day I was sent out on a mission that went sideways."

-"What happened?"

-"Something went wrong and I never got to go home."

-"Can you tell me more about that?"

-"I was captured."

-"Okay. How did you get to the Pegasus Galaxy?"

-"I managed to escape."

-"How long have you been in this galaxy before you ran into Colonel Sheppard and his team?" - Heightmeyer knows Rosalie is hiding something, but lets it go for now.

-"Um, around five years, give or take."

-"Five years? How did you manage to stay alive?"

-"That's the million dollar question, Doc. Considering all the times I should've died, I don't even know how I'm still here."

-"I have to say that, given all the dangers that inhabit this galaxy, that's quite impressive. Let's take a break. I'll come by later today and we can talk some more, if that's alright."

-"Sure, Doc."

Heightmeyer leaves the room, leaving Rosalie thinking that maybe, just maybe, she can get away with not telling her certain things.
