Standing in the overview gallery, Evan, Sheppard and Weir can tell that Rosalie is getting tired of all the questions about when she was captured. Evan is certain that Rosie is on the verge of telling Dr. Heightmeyer off, if her expression is any indication.
He hears Heightmeyer ask, once again, what happened to Rosie once she was captured, adding that the only way to move forward is to talk about it. That's when it happens. Evan would be lying if he said he didn't see it coming.
Rosie explodes and Evan is shocked by what she admits to Heightmeyer. Everything she went through at the hands of that Goa'uld is enough to make Evan's blood boil and want to punch someone.
Clenching his hands, he quickly excuses himself and leaves the room, anger radiating off of him. He needs to calm down, he knows he does, but Rosie's voice keeps replaying in his head, telling him all he couldn't protect her from.
Evan reaches the end of the hallway, away from the overview gallery, and punches the wall as hard as he can. He's going for a second punch when he's stopped.
-"Whoa, Lorne. Slow down." - Sheppard tells him, holding his arm back so he can't punch the wall again.
-"I should've been there, Sheppard. She already went through hell at the hands of one Goa'uld and now this? She didn't deserve that."
-"Look, I get it. You have every reason to be mad, but there's nothing you can do about it now. What you can do is be there for her when the time comes and I know you will."
-"Yeah, you're right."
Evan takes a deep breath, trying to keep his anger at bay. Sheppard's right. There is nothing he can do about it now, not unless he travels back to Earth and hunts down the Goa'uld that hurt her, but since he's not really seeing Weir, Sheppard or even General O'Neill agreeing to it, he'll do the only thing he can do. Be there for her, whenever that might be.
Walking back into the overview gallery, Evan apologizes to Weir for leaving like that. He knows it wasn't exactly professional of him, so an apology is definitely needed. Weir tells him it's okay and that she understands, before informing them she needs to talk to General O'Neill about what Rosalie said regarding Colonel Edwards.
But before she leaves, though, she tells Sheppard to get Rosalie a drink. Considering what she went through, it's more than well deserved. Evan hears Sheppard say that he was thinking the same thing, making Evan smirk, thinking that both Weir and Sheppard would get along great with Rosie.
Sheppard checks with him to see if he'll be okay on his own for a little while, to each Evan nods, now somewhat calmer. Looking down at Rosie, he sees her still sitting on the floor, tears streaming down her cheeks. "What else did you went through, sweetheart?", he sadly thinks before placing his head in his hands.
