"It was sweet that your mom had all these leftover pumpkins from the restaurant," Adrien told Alya. He had Marinette were over for a pumpkin painting party. "Yeah, she ordered a extra dozen, but turns out she didn't need all of them. She's going to give the rest to your mom, Marinette, for her painting class."
As soon as Nino arrived, they got started. "I'm in creative heaven," Marinette giggled. "Its been awhile since I painted a pumpkin before." "Yeah, though you did get some practice last night," Adrien grinned, and winked. "Oh?" Alya said, dipping her paintbrush into the copper paint. "What happened?" "Adrien fell asleep on the chaise, and I painted whiskers on him," Marinette's face turned a shiny pink from her giggles. "Silly girl," Alya teased. "Even Cat Noir doesn't have whiskers." "Hey, I think he would look sweet with whiskers," Nino said, as he painted his pumpkin green.
Marinette leaned over and nudged Adrien. "Don't even think about it. Your cute enough without whiskers." "Aw," Adrien pouted. "I think you would make a cute little ladybug. Would you like me to paint your face?" Adrien held up his paintbrush with a wicked gleam in his eye. "We're here to paint pumpkins, not face painting!"
The group settled down and Marinette could tell Adrien was concentrating hard with his tongue poking out the side of his mouth.
Alya poked Nino, and the two watched Adrien keep looking at Marinette. Was Adrien painting her?
A hour later, it was time for snacks, and to let there pumpkins dry. "Aren't those Rena Rouge and Carapace?" Marinette grinned, as she recognized the familiar faces. "Their cute, but no one is as cute as Bug-" Marinette clapped a hand over her boyfriend's mouth. "Let's eat," she said.
"Don't you dare call me Bugaboo in front of our friends," Marinette hissed. "Your no fun when your angry," Adrien smiled. "But you do have that adorable little pout."
"You two have been flirting non-stop since you got here," Nino observed. "And the way Adrien painted Ladybug with such devotion, and Marinette making Cat Noir, you'd think they were superheroes!"
"What-" Adrien and Marinette both coughed. "Us? Nah, but Nino, do you have any pipe cleaners? I want to add whiskers to Cat's face," Marinette said. "And I want some construction paper, to make a crown," Adrien said.
Soon, the updated pumpkins sat along the hotel doorway. As Marinette and Adrien walked home, they burst into giggles. "They have no idea," Adrien laughed. "Thanks for giving me whiskers, love. Does that mean I can add them to my costume?" "The answer is still no, and I had to throw them off the scent. And why a crown, Agreste? I don't wear a crown." "Yeah, but when your not wearing the suit, you'll always be my Princess." Marinette stopped, taking his hand. "And you'll always be a fur ball, but I love you, anyway." "Love you too, pumpkin," Adrien joked.
In the coming darkness, Marinette smiled. What a joy it was to know who each other was, even if they bantered constantly about it, and tonight it was with pumpkins!
