Looking around the gate room at the people getting ready to cross the gate, Rosalie can barely contain her excitement. It's been a year since she crossed the gate herself and now, there she was, ready to go on a new adventure.

The past year hasn't been easy, not by a long shot. When she returned, she went through a new physical exam as well as a new psych eval. Once that was done, it was time to debrief the big bosses about all that happened in the last five years of her life. Nothing she wasn't already expecting.

What she wasn't expecting was all the changes that had happened while she was away. Jack is now in charge of the SGC, Sam got promoted, Teal'c has a son and Daniel, at one point, ascended. Talk about sending her head into a spin.

And even though those were all good news and things that brought her joy, especially knowing that her friends were well, there had been two pieces of information that had received two polar opposite reactions from her. One of justice and one of pure sadness.

It turned out that when Jack found out what Edwards had done, he almost shot the man on sight. After forcing a confession out of him, the details something that Rosalie didn't want to know, Jack sent Edwards to court martial. Once news got out of Edwards fate, women started coming forward and talking to Jack about Edwards mistreatment of them while working with the man. Needless to say that it didn't end well for him. Rosalie never felt so vindicated as she was when Jack told her.

But that quickly became overshadowed when she heard that Dr. Fraiser, the doctor that had treated her after she was tortured by Talek, the doctor that helped her through her recovery, had been killed while off-world by a Jaffa loyal to Anubis.

Rosalie wished she had made the time to get to know the doctor better, to learn more of how she ended up at the SGC, and if she enjoyed it, amongst other things. The only thing that gave her some solace, and after talking to a few people that knew her better, was knowing that she died doing what she loved: saving someone's life.

Rosalie made sure to pay her respects and visit, not only her grave but her family as well. Listening to her adoptive daughter, Cassandra, talking about how Fraiser adopted her and how she made sure that Cassandra had a normal childhood after all that the little girl went through, made her appreciate and admire the woman even more.

Rosalie's thoughts on the last year are interrupted when she feels a hand on her shoulder.

-"Are you sure you're okay with your new assignment?" - Daniel asks her, as if he hasn't done it for the last week.

-"Daniel, this assignment is exactly what I need to put behind all I've been through."

-"I get what you mean. I hope this gives you a fresh start, Rosalie."

-"It will."

Rosalie smiles at him, knowing that Daniel is just worried. If Daniel had been a bit protective of her before, once he found out all that she went through, the man became overprotective, and that's putting it mildly.

They have always had a sibling-like relationship, with Daniel adopting the role of older brother quite easily, even if sometimes the roles would reverse and Rosalie would have to remind him of things that would make her resemble more like his mother than a sister.

Jack's voice comes through the speakers, letting everyone know that they're about to dial the gate. Daniel hugs Rosalie tight and wishes her luck, before walking back to the control room, leaving her with a group of scientists and another of Marines and Airmen, all waiting to cross the gate.

When the gate activates, everyone starts crossing it. Rosalie stops before she does, looking back at the control room, seeing Jack, Sam, Teal'c and Daniel there. She smiles at them and waves goodbye. Turning towards the gate, she takes a deep breath and smiles. "Atlantis, here I come."
