The Gate Room is busy as usual, with a team preparing to go through the gate. Sheppard stands next to Weir by the railing, watching the team go through. He had spent the last twenty minutes trying to convince Weir to let him take a jumper to the north side of the planet to check out some sweet waves, but Weir is just not having it.
He has to give it to the woman, she has a lot on her plate, and still manages to make it look easy. He knows that he could never do what she does, he lacks the diplomatic talent that Weir has. What he has in military dexterity, she has in diplomacy. That's why they work so well together.
Sheppard is about to take another run at Weir, when the gate activates. They aren't expecting any team back so soon, he knows that much. Walking to the DHD, he waits for the gate to stabilize before asking if they have an IDC.
Chuck, the gate technician, tells them that they're receiving an IDC and, to Sheppard's surprise, it's one that Rosalie gave out once she was allowed to give them to strategic allies. Weir quickly calls for Rosalie to get to the Gate Room quickly, and gives the order to lower the shield.
Meanwhile, not far from the Gate Room, Rosalie is in her lab, going through the Ancient database when she hears Weir telling to get to the Gate Room and fast. Leaving everything behind, Rosalie runs the whole way there.
She reaches the Gate Room at the same time their mystery guest walks through the gate. Rosalie gasps in shock. Standing in front of her is the last person she thought she would see.
