Chapter 3: Flickering Lights

Max, Sydney, Kirby and the Ferrus Quintuplets were eating in the cafeteria. "You know, guys, I wish something exciting would happen in this school." Kirby said. Just then, the lights started flickering on and off. "Okay, whoever's messing with the lights, knock it off!" Wandella exclaimed. But the group noticed that no one was near the light switches. "Okay, this is freaky. How can the lights be flickering on and off without the switches? Unless the lights are haunted." Kirby said with worry. "I thought you wanted something interesting to happen at school, Kirby." Xena teased as she and the others got up and walked towards the cafeteria doors. "Not haunted lights!" Kirby cried as he got up and followed after them.

The group walked down the hallway, seeing that the lights were flickering on and off down it too. "I don't get it. How can the lights be flickering on and off like this?" Vandana asked. "The lights are haunted, I tell you!" Kirby cried. "Just like you thought Tawny was a ghost roaming the hallway?" Sydney teased. "Or when you thought the kitten in the locker was haunted?" Xena teased. Max started to think about something. "I think I know what's going on." He said.

Later, they walked over to the breaker box at the end of the hallway and inspected it. "Just what I thought. This breaker box has been malfunctioning. That's what's been making the lights flicker on and off." Max said. "You think it can be fixed, Max?" Sydney asked. "I think so. I studied breaker boxes before. It should take a few seconds to fix." Max said. He fixed up the malfunction on the breaker box and the lights stopped flickering. "There. That's all fixed. For now, at least." He said. "Yeah. We should tell the Fujikawa Twins about this breaker box so they can call a professional." Zad said. "So much for my haunted theory." Kirby groaned as they started walking towards the Fujikawa Twins' office. Everyone laughed at that.
