Chapter 4: Headless
Max, Alex, Rayne and the Ferrus Quintuplets were looking around the school for Steel in his android body. "I wonder where Steel went. He's been missing since after class." Max said. "I'm sure he's around here somewhere. Even with his new android body, Steel stands out in a crowd." Rayne said. Just then, Kirby came screaming and running down the hall towards them. "Kirby, what's wrong with you?" Xena asked. "I just saw a headless dude walking down the hallway! It was the freakiest thing I've ever seen!" Kirby cried as he ran off. "Oh boy. I know what's going on." Max said in worry.
The team rushed down the hallway and saw Steel's headless android body wandering about. Sydney and the other students watched him in horror. "We gotta get Steel out of sight." Zad whispered. "How do we do that?" Alex asked. Max pulled out a handmade smoke bomb and threw it at Steel, creating a cloud of thick smoke that covered the whole hallway. With everyone distracted, the team rushed in, grabbed Steel and pulled him into an empty room before the smoke cleared.
Once the team was inside, Alex locked the door and turned off the lights. "Steel, where's your head?" Max asked. "I don't know where it is." Steel said. "Well, where were you when you lost it?" Vandana asked. "I was walking around outside when something suddenly hit me and knocked my head off." Steel explained. "Hmm. Then I suggest we go to the Fujikawa Twins and ask for the security footage from outside." Max said. The team nodded in agreement while Steel, being without his head, gave a thumb's up.
Later, as the team arrived at the Fujikawa Twins' office, they looked through the security footage outside. "Ah, I think this is it." Shiba said. The video showed some kids playing with a soccer ball. As Steel was walking by, one of the kids kicked the ball too hard and sent it flying, hitting Steel and knocking his head off. "That's it. Steel's head is right out there." Max said.
Steel stayed with the Fujikawa Twins as the team left the principal's office to fetch Steel's head. "Anyone see it?" Zad asked. "There it is." Rayne said, finding Steel's head. Luckily, the head was offline when it was separated from Steel's android body. "Well, I guess it's a good thing that his head was deactivated when it was knocked off or we'd really be in trouble." Max said as Rayne handed him Steel's head. But he spoke too soon as Steel's head became active. "Hey, guys. You found my head?" He asked through his head. "Uh oh…" Max said in worry as the head exploded, knocking him and his team down.
At the principal's office, Steel grew a new head with a cringe. "Oops…I forgot that my head could explode when I activate it."
