I'm doing a crossover fanfic starring Scooby Doo and Johnny Bravo. You guessed it, they're co-starring in this movie...or rather a fanfic that was inspired by it.
I hope you enjoy it.
As a side note they decided to make a sequel to Scooby Doo on Zombie Island. Do you think it holds up to the original? It's kind of a tough act to follow. It had a very original storyline. Though it's not the first time that the Mystery Gang had encountered actual monsters, believe it or not.
But I applaud them for trying.
I'm not going to spoil the movie if you haven't seen it. But given that it's the first Scooby-doo movie I would imagine that chances are you have already seen it.
Chapter 1: Case Of The Moat Monster
Things were rather normal for the Scooby Gang.
By that, they were attempting to catch a monster and unmask them. It seemed they had been doing that for years...and what they did best.
The monster was simply referred to as the Moat Monster. It was amphibious in appearance, as its name implied.
They were at a haunted castle, which the monster supposedly called home.
For some reason, it always seemed to be stormy there.
Couldn't it be sunny for once? Admittedly, that wouldn't make for a spooky atmosphere, but…
Right now, the monster was chasing Scooby and Shaggy.
"Run!" shouted Shaggy.
"Ray ahead of rou!" exclaimed Scooby.
Fortunately, they were doing a good job eluding the monster.
Running away was what they did best. They had a lot of experience. And yes, for some strange reason, Shaggy could keep up with a dog. It was as if he were superhuman or something.
Perhaps they should consider becoming soccer players.
They could also become football players, but that would probably be too scary for them.
"Now!" shouted Fred.
Daphne pushed over several suits of armor on top of the monster.
He was pinned underneath them.
"Let's unmask the monster now, shall we?" asked Daphne.
"Finally! All that running was making me tired!" exclaimed Shaggy.
"Ree too!" shouted Scooby.
Unmasking the Moat Monster revealed him as who he truly was.
"Mr. Beeman?" asked Velma.
And no, he wasn't a literal bee man. Though this wouldn't be out of place on Scooby-doo.
He wasn't wearing a bee costume underneath, either.
As it turned out, he was a real estate agent who had been printing counterfeit money.
The monsters always turned out to be crooks in masks, it seemed.
"I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids and your dog!" exclaimed Mr. Beeman.
"Hey look, the culprit remembered Scooby!" exclaimed Fred.
That was a change of events.
"Just for the record, I just turned eighteen." said Velma.
So she wasn't exactly a kid anymore.
The police arrived on the scene and arrested Mr. Beeman.
"We appreciate your help, as usual." said the police officer.
However, Daphne was growing bored with the usual routine.
How many crooks have they caught wearing monster costumes?
Probably over a hundred at that point.
Meanwhile...
Johnny Bravo was reading the morning newspaper.
He discovered what had happened recently at a haunted castle.
"Mr. Beeman has been arrested for making counterfeit bills? I always wondered why he had so much money..." remarked Johnny Bravo.
It seemed that he had decided not to make a honest living.
"Whatcha reading?" asked Lucy.
"I'm reading about the Scooby Gang..." said Johnny. They certainly seemed to be in the newspaper a lot these days.
Personally, he thought that Daphne was pretty.
However, he got the feeling that Daphne already had a love interest, so perhaps he needed to find someone else.
Personally Lucy wondered why Johnny Bravo was still living with his mother.
Surely he would be able to achieve independence by now.
Of course, Lucy still lived with her parents (she was very young, after all) …but she was capable of doing many things on her own. Her parents were pretty proud of her.
He decided to watch TV.
Sure enough, Daphne Blake was on TV.
"I love it when a pretty lady is on TV!" exclaimed Johnny.
'That doesn't surprise me.' remarked Lucy.
It seemed that the Scooby Gang had gotten quite famous over the years. Not only were they in the newspaper, but they were also on TV.
Just how famous were they?
Granted, the Scooby Snacks hadn't actually been named after Scooby Doo (though there were those that believed that), but still.
"And that is how we solved the case of the Moat Monster." said Daphne.
"That sounds rather exciting!" exclaimed the interviewer.
"Theoretically, it would be...but to be honest, I actually thought it was kind of boring. Every case has always been the same. It's always someone whose in a costume...embezzlement, counterfeit operation, robbery, you name it." said Daphne.
"That does sound rather repetitive." admitted the lady.
Still, she was fascinated by the Scooby Gang's work. They had certainly made a name for themselves. Though in Scrappy Doo's case, he had become infamous. It seemed that the Scooby Gang had decided to forget about him.
"I wish we could find a real monster for a change." noted Daphne. It would shock everyone. Though people probably wouldn't believe them if they told them they encountered actual monsters.
Perhaps they never would.
At that point, the Scooby Gang had decided to retire from doing mysteries. Having said that, Fred decided to remain with Daphne as her cameraman.
Velma Dinkley was writing books that were loosely based on their mysteries.
She was doing pretty well for herself.
Though if she wanted more inspiration, she would have to go back to solving mysteries again.
Scooby Doo and Shaggy were working at an airport, looking for contraband.
However, it was simply an excuse for them to eat food.
Unfortunately for them, their grouchy employer had found out and had decided to can them.
"You're fired!" bellowed the employer.
Scooby and Shaggy wondered where they could find another job.
They could try working at a restaurant...but chances are they would be fired for eating food that was meant for the customers. They found food to be very tantalizing.
Luckily, none of the crooks they had encountered considered using food to trap the duo...yet. Otherwise, Scooby and Shaggy would likely be the ones who were trapped instead.
They didn't know how they were going to keep making money. Things seemed so much easier back when they were part of the Mystery Gang.
But times had changed. Now they had decided that there were other things they could do instead.
Speaking of which, they wondered where the rest of the Scooby Gang was.
Maybe they should have stayed in touch with them. To be fair, Scooby and Shaggy were almost never apart, even when Fred decided to split the team.
Why did they split the team, anyway? There was always a monster on the prowl.
Meanwhile, Fred wondered what he should do for Daphne's birthday. He thought of getting her a birthday present, but he wanted it to be something special.
Suddenly, he had an idea.
What if he got the Mystery Gang back together? That seemed like the perfect present.
Not only that, but he would love to solve mysteries again...though at this point, it seemed that Daphne was bored with mysteries. She had been experiencing too much deja vu. She had lost count on how many crooks they had encountered wearing masks.
Still, he thought she would be happy to see her friends again.
Perhaps Velma, Scooby, and Shaggy would be interested in solving mysteries...even though Daphne felt like they had already solved every mystery in the world at that point.
Fortunately, as it turned out, the gang did wish to come back together. Even though Scooby and Shaggy were still afraid of monsters after all this time.
Once again, they were solving mysteries.
The criminals thought they had been safe from the Mystery Gang now that they had gone their separate ways, but they thought wrong.
Though Daphne was happy to catch people in costumes once again, she still wished that she would still encounter actual monsters.
"I would have gotten away with it too, if it weren't for you meddling kids!" exclaimed the guy who had disguised himself as a zombie.
"That's what they all say." remarked Velma. It didn't seem like they could go a case without a criminal saying that to them.
Currently, they were at New Orleans.
There weren't any monster sightings in the area...but it figured like a fun place that they could spend their time.
Johnny Bravo was there as well.
Why? He wanted to look for new girls.
He had been in a surprising number of places to pick up girls. Nobody knew where he would show up next.
Lucy had decided to go with him.
His mother wanted her to make sure he stayed safe.
And yes, even though Lucy was a child, she was smarter than Johnny was.
At the very least, she wasn't distracted easily.
But instead of girls, Johnny found Scooby and Shaggy.
"Do I know you two?" asked the blonde man.
"Weren't you in a crossover episode?" questioned Shaggy. It had been a change of events to be solving a mystery with him.
"Did you reak the fourth rall, Raggy?" asked Scooby Doo.
"I guess I did." answered the skinny glutton.
Meanwhile, Fred, Daphne, and Velma were approached by a woman wearing a bandana showed up.
Her name was Lena.
"Salutations!" exclaimed the lady.
"Can I help you?" asked Fred.
"You like solving mysteries, don't you?" asked the woman.
"We sure do!" exclaimed Shaggy.
'I know an island where you can find the undead." spoke Lena.
"Really?" asked Fred.
"They're probably a group of criminals obsessed with the undead..." noted Daphne.
Velma decided to look up information about Moonscar Island.
Apparently, there had been a variety of disappearances on that island over the years.
What exactly was going on?
"Many disappearances? Are you sure this is a good idea?" asked Shaggy. He wouldn't want to think about Scooby disappearing. He didn't know what he would do about his honourary brother.
And yes, he thought of a dog as his honourary brother. But could you really blame the two of them for being so close?
Scooby whimpered. He had been to a lot of scary places, but this island sounded rather dangerous.
Fred wondered if he needed to bribe Scooby with Scooby Snacks.
They had been doing that for ages. It always seemed to do the trick.
They always made sure to have Scooby Snacks in case Scooby Doo didn't want to do something.
Though to be honest, the disappearances were indeed kind of worrying. He could understand why Scooby Doo would be reluctant to go to some extent.
Why exactly were people disappearing?
Perhaps it had something to do with the crocodiles that lived there.
But maybe there was something more sinister at work there.
It would be a good idea to investigate these appearances.
Suddenly, Johnny Bravo decided to flirt with Lena.
"Hey there, pretty lady!" exclaimed Bravo.
"Huh? Do you want to come with me to Moonscar Island too?" asked the woman. She was a bit of a flirt herself, to be honest.
Johnny nodded. Perhaps he would meet another pretty girl like Lena there.
And yes, people wondered if pretty girls were the only thing that Johnny thought about.
"Alright then!" exclaimed the brunette.
Lucy decided that he would go with him.
His flirtatious nature could be a problem.
So having someone keep him in check wouldn't be a bad idea.
Scooby considered inviting Scrappy to go with him, but he got in trouble for rusting a fire hydrant.
A lot of fans didn't seem to like Scrappy.
Maybe because they thought he was stupid for trying to take on monsters with his bare hands.
His puppy power was not going to be enough to take them down.
Together, the seven of them followed Lena.
'It's nice to see you again, Johnny." spoke Fred.
"Really? He spends his time flirting with everyone." noted Daphne.
"Well, Shaggy and Scooby spend their time eating everything in sight. But they're still good friends of mine." pointed out the leader of the Mystery Gang.
"I see your point." answered the redhead.
"Jacques! I have seven tourists who want to pay Moonscar Island a visit!" exclaimed Lena.
"That's great. All aboard!" exclaimed Jacques.
Little did the seven of them know what they were getting into.
Yes, I was a huge fan of Scooby Doo when I was a kid. I will admit I wasn't as big of a fan of Johnny Bravo when I was young though. Maybe he's not exactly a role model. Though I won't deny that he is funny. I figured I would include him in this crossover fanfic because...there already was a crossover between the two shows! Ironic, huh?
Of course, you probably already know the truth about Lena. Scooby Doo and Zombie Island has been out long enough for the movie to have a sequel. I will admit that movie was a tough act to follow, huh?
Regarding Lena, just say that not everyone is who they appear.
Perhaps Johnny Bravo should get to know girls before he flirts with them.
We don't want girls to take advantage of him, am I right?
And yes, I uploaded this fanfic on Halloween.
Ironic, isn't it?
And yet, it seemed like the perfect time.
Adios!
