Episode 1
"So…you actually decided to sin investigations 2, eh? You really screwed up here. This game is amazing and you have proven you are a very poor game reviewer and a terrible mystery fiction writer. So…ten sins right out of the gate for even daring to touch this masterpiece with your grubby cinemasins fingers!" ten sins added
(President of Zheng Fa comes to visit the United States and decides to land his plane in the middle of a Los Angeles lake-a place with no national, popular, cultural or historical significance of any kind-and give his address in front of said plane to a relatively small crowd. Who planned this diplomatic event? Fire that person!)
"Saying this game takes place in Los Angeles. This is in Japan, you nationalistic asshole! You and the localization team are both so reluctant to accept this game takes place in Japan, the developers are actually rubbing it in your face in the latest games. I have to say you had it coming." One sin added.
"Also, considering the prosecutor(s) that took the smuggling ring and the counterfeit business down work(s) in the prosecutors' office of this city, it is necessary for the president to come here and talk to the people who actually were involved in those events. You wanted him to go to a larger, more historically important city to thank the people that had no hand in taking the smuggling ring down for the sake of a publicity stunt? That is also pretty fucked-up." One sin added.
"Speaking of which, since the entire point all along was to make the fake assassination attempt…doing this on a larger stage in front of a larger crow would complicate the plan. The fewer the people, the more chances of success. And fewer chances pf being found out. This might have been done on purpose, is what I'm saying." One sin added
[(Can you hear it? The cheers of the crowd!) No, I can't.]
"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.
[(Huang declares that the hammer of justice shall be brought down upon all evil seconds before being supposedly shot at.) Irony.]
"I thought the irony was the fact he himself was a criminal that had the real president assassinated, replaced him and killed an innocent reporter who happened to be there. Shows what I know." One sin added.
(Why does Edgeworth get called in to deal with Huang's assassination attempt? I know Hang thinks he's all that for solving the previous case, but wouldn't a crime of this magnitude be more likely to end up in the hands of a federal prosecutor or even a group like the CIA?)
"CIA?! You mean the Keisatsu-chō!" one sin added.
"Also, you answered your own question. Edgeworth solved the smuggling ring case, saving Zheng Fa's economy from complete destruction! He is that dude to the president and the entire nation right now!" one sin added.
[(Nicole Swift) Discount Lotta Hart. The fact they later lampshade this does nothing to erase the sin by the way?]
"Are you sure? Because I'm pretty sure the two of them existing in the same universe and even having a mentor-mentee relationship makes your "Discount…" point moot." One sin added.
(After having no idea how logic works in the last game, Gumshoe is now explaining it so Swift like it's the most obvious thing in the world. See what happens when he's allowed to sleep before a case?)
"Yes. That explains it. Thanks for pointing out what's happening on the screen, Pierce. I was at a loss over here." One sin added.
[(A deflated steel samurai balloon in the lake again.) Aw, dammit it! They managed to shoehorn the steel samurai into this, didn't they?]
"Sinning the steel samurai. How many sins did I give those antics last game? That's right." Twenty sins added.
(Also, turnabout goodbyes reference.)
"Sinning this case for referencing one of the best cases in the series." One sin added.
[(The logos on Swift's jacket include brands like IKEO and C-R-US.) Obvious riffs on actual brand names.]
"Pierce points out things on the screen cliché." One sin added.
"Also, what did you want them to do? Reference the actual names? And sell their kidneys to pay for copyright infringement claims?" one sin added.
[(Swift doesn't want to hand over what she knows.) Swift acts like she has any choice in the matter.]
"Are you padding the sin, count, sis?" One sin added.
(I love how a six shot revolver is supposedly banned in this universe, but Americans can walk around with assault rifles in the real world and face zero consequences whatsoever. This may be one of the few instances in which the AA legal system has a leg up on the US's. And the fact I can type this is really a sin.)
"A sin on America's gun problem? Maybe. A sin of the slightly more organized and better AA universe? No." one sin added.
[(Kay jumps into the case.) Yeah, but…how did she end up on top of the car?]
"It's Kay Faraday." One sin added.
[(Kay's pictures.) Seeing as this game was made in 2011, I think I can safely say Kay invented the selfie craze.]
"I think you are padding the sin count." One sin added.
(When De Killer's wound bleeds through, the bloodstain disappears from the white sling after he wipes it down with a napkin. That's…not how blood works.)
"Pierce failing at game logic n. 236642." One sin added.
(Rooke manages to land a hit on De Killer's arm without injury to himself. He did survive the encounter, but unfortunately didn't live to tell the tale long after that. Thanks a lot, Knightley. Taking out one of the game's greatest badasses before he can even say a word.)
"Pierce yells at Knightley cliché." One sin added.
(The ice cream sweats)
"Pierce failing at game logic n. 236643." One sin added.
(The game does the dramatic pan-between-the-characters-to-see-who- interjected…only for none of the characters it pans to be the one who interjected. What was the point?))
"To create tension? Make us wonder wo actually interjected? What kind of question is that?" one sin added.
(Knightley's gun twirling.)
"Sinning this." Ten sins added.
(Also, Horace Knightley.)
"Sinning Knightley." Twenty sins added.
(Game waits until we're almost an hour into the first case to properly murder mystery.)
"Pierce like everything happening so far is not directly related to the murder." One sin added.
(Speaking of being over an hour into the first case…this is easily the longest first case in the series.)
"You sure about that? You might wanna go and play the great ace attorney chronicles before saying that again." One sin added.
[(De Killer takes Knightley as a hostage at knifepoint to continue the investigation.) While I'm not surprised someone as crafty as De Killer managed to sneak a knife into the president's speech, I am disappointed than an assassin as smart as him thought killing the president with a close range weapon in front of a crowd would in any way be a good idea.)
"Why not? The guy already managed to get pretty close to the president two days before. There were eight security guards and Rooke was the only one that managed to stop him. He literary broke Knightley's neck with one hand. If it hadn't been for Rooke, De Killer might have accomplished his goal earlier. You think anybody will be able to stop the guy from escaping? He can afford to do this." one sin added.
(De Killer peaces out after thirty minutes to avoid being caught. What a shit ton of build up for-what feels until the finale like-a worthless character recurrence.)
"Calling De Killer's role in this game worthless. He has a major role both in this case and the finale. This is taking advantage of De Killer." One sin added.
(Swift never faces any consequences for being an accomplice to a fake assassination.)
"Well, Huang and his buddy, Blaise, did a good job sweeping it under the proverbial rug. If Knightley hadn't been killed, he would have been falsely charge with trying to assassinate the president. It make sense Swift's role would also be covered up." One sin added.
(Knightley nearly shoots himself several times throughout this case. First of all, how is that not leaving a crap ton of bullet holes on the plane? Second of all, doesn't he know he has to wait until the second case to die. Calm down, will you?)
"First of all, Pierce failing at game logic n. 236643." One sin added.
"Second of all, Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.
(How did nobody notice him doing this? Sure, Edgeworth and Huang were otherwise occupied , but that still leaves Kay, Gumshoe and Swift, not to mention the other nameless bodyguards. Is the game expecting me to believe Knightley can load bullets into a gun behind his back?)
"Why not? I mean, if you know how to load a gun, doing it without seeing it in front of you is quite easy for an amateur, let alone a guy who has been trained to use it to protect the president's life." One sin added.
(The only worse thing that Knightley's gun twirling animation…is his facial expression when zoomed out.)
"Okay…but still calling the gun twirling bad." Ten sins added.
(Knightley's breakdown.)
"I don't think there is any need to delve into the details of this sin. Pierce is eight games into this series…and she still takes the breakdowns at face value…I'll just give it three sins and get it over with" three sins added.
[(This game isn't over yet! You hear me?!) Well, duh. We are only on the first episode.]
"Pierce yells at the screen cliché." One sin added.
[(The rest of this game will continue in the courtroom.) No, it won't.]
"Pierce yells at the screen cliché. Again." One sin added.
[(Edgeworth points out that we still don't know who De killer's client is.) foreshadowing the finale.]
"Pierce hates foreshadowing for no reason cliché." One sin added.
(I hope this case doesn't turn into a larger incident,) Hahahahahahahahahahahahha! I'm sorry, which game am I playing again.]
"Apart from narration and foreshadowing, Pierce also hates irony for no reason…which is ironic." One sin added.
(Ending narration.)
"See? What did I just tell you?" one sin added.
Total sin tally: 106
Sentence: held at knifepoint.
