Ch5: Nightmares of a Jackal
Nefertina pulls back the Hot Ra into the Sphinx. Once parked she jumps out of the cockpit of the suped up vehicle and is visibly tired from all the fighting. Rath stands on the side of the vehicle checking on his undead comrade but Nefertina just looks at him annoyed and just wants to rest.
Nefertina: You really here this time?
Rath: Indeed I am, I trust all went well?
The two of them begin to walk back to the common area together, Nefertina replies "Heka and Kan-Ra have been dealt with but there was someone else. A young woman with a sword and a rabbit mask. Do we know who she is?". The two have now entered the den and look over to see a now awake Armon watching an old El Toro Fuerte fight. He can be heard loudly cheering over the fight.
Rath: I'm afraid not. But our newfound allies have resources to figure such things out.
Nefertina nods and then jumps over the couch and sits next to Armon. The mummified oaf looks over at his ally with a giant grin and joy in his but he sees the opposite in his ally.
Armon: You look tired!
Nefertina: And you look like you've slept all day while I was protecting Rapses!
Armon then goes to ask what happened but before a word can even come out she puts a finger up and her face turns to the TV. Armon then looks at Rath but his scholarly comrade just shrugs at him. Armon goes back to watching the fight but as he does that Rath eyes widen as he just realized he hasn't seen Ja-Kal all day.
Rath: Armon, where is Ja-Kal?
Armon: He's in his sarcophagus resting?
Using magic Rath creates a small translucent sun dial that's tell him it's now 7'O Clock at night. Rath then asks "Has he left his sarcophagus at all today?". Armon then looks back with a puzzled look on his undead face. He really ponders the question that was asked of him scratching his chin with his good arm.
Armon: Umm…. Not that I've seen.
Rath then dashes out of the den into the resting chambers of the mummies. Armon and Nefertina both follow their ally into the resting chambers. Rath looks concerned at Ja-Kal's sarcophagus. He puts the palm of his head on the exact center of his brother-in-arm's sarcophagus. Rath closes his eyes but is overwhelmed by visions of Ja-Kal fighting undead and other Lovecraftian monsters in a destroyed San Francisco. The Western Gate is wide open and the Golden Gate Bridge above it has been split in half. The sky is a smokey red and Ja-Kal has now been corned by a mob of the undead and two three headed eyeless monsters with razor sharp mouths. Rath then pulls away from the sarcophagus gasping for air.
Armon grabs him with his large hand. The other two mummies look concerned, Nefertina stands over Rath asking "What happened? What did you see?!". The group then hear the sound of paws running as fast they can and and from the shadows Khati runs out with a book in his (verify gender) and a frightened look in its eyes. Nefertina then walks over and kneels down to the cat.
Nefertina: Khati?! What's wrong?
She notices the book in the cats mouth. Khati then drops the book and as it drops on the ground it opens to the chapter of the book about Rapses. Armon and Nefertina look at the title of the chapter and see the pictures depicting Rapses using godlike powers but Rath looks at these pictures not in awe but in horror.
Meanwhile somewhere in Downtown San Francisco, Jackie is driving with Jade back to the shop. The ride is somewhat quiet but Jade decides to finally break the ice.
Jade: How long have you been going out Cleopatra?
Jackie: Who?
Jade: Presley's mom! That whole family has gotta be reincarnated pharaoh's right? I think his dad is white so that probably means he's like Marc Anthony or Ceasar!
Jackie: Very funny, I mean I guess our first official date was at the Flaming Dragon a few nights ago.
Jade looks over at her uncle with her eyebrows raised and asks "I'm sorry, 'First official' date?". Jackie turns to see his niece looking at him somewhat confused and disappointed.
Jackie: Well, I probably met her a month or two ago. We were going over some findings in the Middle East and I invited her for coffee at a cafe not too far from the museum-
Jade: And that became another coffee date, and another, and another, and-
Jackie: We only talked about work for the first few dates and then we started talking about you and Presley.
Jade then nods her head but has a sly look on her face. Jackie catches on that Jade is acting up which confuses him.
Jackie: What's wrong?
Jade: Why didn't you tell me?
Jackie: You were in China visiting your parents and I just figured you know this might not go anywhere. Besides Viper is a good role model for you and I didn't want you to think-
Jade: Oh me and Viper are FINE! Besides everyone kinda knew you and her weren't that serious.
Jackie: We weren't… Not serious….
Jackie's phone begins to vibrate in his pocket and grabs it without looking. Jackie puts the phone to his ear and answers the call.
Jackie: This is Jackie.
The anxious voice of a worried Uncle yelling in Jackie's ear, "GO TO THE SPHIX NOW! HUGE PROBLEM JACKIE!". The call then drops and the uncle and niece tag team look at each other confused. Jackie then takes the next u turn as soon as he's able. Back at the Sphinx Uncle, Tohru, and Rath are huddled around Ja-Kal who is now laying on the ground his eyes sealed shut but is squirming as if he's in pain. Armon walks in the chambers with Jackie and Jade who look in awe of the secret home of the mummies. They look to see the two Chi Wizards and the mummified sorcerer standing over Ja-Kal while preparing some kind of spell.
Jackie: Uncle! What's going on?
Uncle: Ja-Kal has seemingly been incapacitated by a power have been made unaware of. We need you, Tohru, and Armon to figure out what is going on with Ja-Kal while Uncle and Rath do research.
Jade: Do we think it's Scarab?
Rath: Actually little one we weren't aware you were with your other Uncle. Nefertina is actually about to leave to-
Nefertina then emerges from the hallway in her armor saying "They have taken Rapses!", Jade and Jackie both have a collective gasp. She walks alongside an enlarged Khati.
Nefertina: Come with me girl!
Jade: But we were just-
Uncle: No time, go investigate and they will take you back to the shop Jade.
Jackie: I will go-
Uncle then smacks him with his two fingers and Jackie exclaims "Ah!" and then looks at Uncle confused.
Uncle: You are needed here. Your martial art skills even in the world of dreams will be useful.
Jackie: But what if-
Uncle: Has she called you? No? Then she does not yet know Presley has been kidnapped! Now get in the circle with Tohru!
Jackie walks away somewhat shaken that Presley is missing and knowing Amanda will definitely call him when she realizes he's gone. Jackie stands at the edge of a drawn chalk circle with Tohru and Armon at opposite ends while Uncle and Rath take the other side. Jackie looks down to Ja-Kal silently writhing in pain. The group look at the sorcerers who drawing holographic symbols in the air. Uncle creates the Yin and Yang symbol in the air, while Tohru creates a Tori, while Rath creates the Eye of Horus.
Rath: Chuckles and I will bring you to Ja-Karl's dream but it will be on Tohru to bring you out of it.
Uncle: Rath has told me that Ja-Kal is in some kind of nightmare involving the end of the world. Swarms of the undead and Apathocans.
Rath: This vision and the Summoning Key surfacing CANNOT be a mere coincidence. Expect anything.
Uncle, Tohru, and Rath al begin to chant "Yo Mo GUI Gwai Fi Di Zao!". Suddenly Jackie, a now seemingly alive Armon, and Tohru stand in a white void and begin to look around. Armon looks down at his body from when was alive his golden arm attached along with golden and purple armor.
Armon: Woah!
Tohru: The spell we cashed uses projects our spirits and how we like to see ourselves.
The sumo sorcerer raises his arms and he suddenly changes into the young Japanese schoolboy he once was and then transforms back into his adult self just as quickly.
Jackie: Wow that is incredible but where are we?
Tohru: We are in the space between ours and Ja-Kal's minds. Here we have access to all our memories, dreams, and the unconscious mind.
Tohru waves his wand and two memories appear in front of them one of Jackie and the other of Armon. The memory of Jackie is the first time meeting Amanda in the museum.
Amanda: You must be Mister Chan, I'm Amanda Carnovan!
She sticks out her hand to shake which Jackie gladly does and replies with "Please call me Jackie! I understand you are interested in the tomb of Kahor?". The two of them begin to discuss the expedition to Egypt and a little later in the conversation Jackie looks at her and asks "You know I'm kind of hungry and there's this little cafe that's not too farm from here if you would like to get something. My treat!", Amanda smile shines at Jackie and the memory fades but the memory of Armon begins to play out but that is not nearly as happy.
In the memory of the one armed mummy, Armon is fighting the forces of En Sabah Nur. He fights one of the ancient warlord's Horsemen known as Famine. Armon battles beats the horseman to the ground and goes to swing his battle axe down but Famine grabs the sword of a fallen soldier next to him and narrowly dodges the axe and cuts Armon's arm clean off. Armon falls to his knees screaming in pain.
Armon: RAAAAAAAHH! YOU WILL PAY FOR THAT!
Famine: We shall see about that!
Famine goes to cut down Armon from behind but his blade is then snatched from his head and the two turn around to see none other than Teth Adam champion of the wizard Shazam standing between the two of them with the blade of the sword now split in two.
Teth Adam: That was a mistake!
The memory then fades away and the group all look at each other. While Jackie's memory doesn't really reveal anything particular about him they all just watched an extremely traumatic moment in Armon's life.
Jackie: Armon I am so-
Armon raises his golden arm saying "I appreciate that little guy but it's all good now. I think I made out okay!". As he says this he Shows off his golden arm to the others. Suddenly a door that resembles that of door in an Egyptian palace appears in front of them. The door is marked with symbols of jackals, the Phoenix, and Osiris.
Tohru: This is it. Sensei and Rath said that there would be visions of death and destruction, keep in mind it's not real and we cannot leave until we find Ja-Kal.
The three of them open the door and walk into a blinding white light on the other side…
Meanwhile in the ruins of the Museum Sphinx, Ja-Kal emerges from his sarcophagus panting as if he had just emerged from deep waters. Once he catches his breath he looks around in abject horror. The resting chamber has debris from the stone ceiling scattered across the floor as he looks around he asks himself "What happened here?". Ja-Kal leaves the chamber and begins to explore the ruins of the Sphinx. The former hunter walks into the common area to see the TV is playing nothing but static and the couch flipped over, the walls are covered in blood and scratch marks presumably from a large cat. Ja-Kal walks to the garage and once he gets there he sees Armon standing in a corner.
Ja-Kal: Armon! Thank Ra! What has happened?
The leader of the mummies runs over to his brother-in-arms but when Armon turns around something is clearly wrong. Armon's eyes are glowing yellow, both his nose and lips have decayed away, and he snarls at Ja-Kal which rightfully causes the hunter to immediately halt in his tracks.
Ja-Kal: What has happened to you?!
Armon ignores this and continues to charge at his former friend looking at him like he's a meal. Ja-Kal knows the only thing he can do is to defend himself so he decides to use his powers on his friend.
Ja-Kal: WITH THE STRENGTH OF-
Suddenly from the shadows a slender figure jumps out from behind Armon stabbing the exact center of the top of his head. Armon falls to the ground and the yellow in his eyes turn to a faded white, he is now truly dead. Ja-Kal looks at the strange man who's wearing a familiar set cobra themed armor. The armor is dusty and dented but he knows who it is.
Ja-Kal: Rath?! What's going on, what has Scarab done?!
Rath looks up at Ja-Kal with not only a bitter expression on his face but it's covered by three distinct claw mark scars, his nose has completely decayed away, and his eyes are now a foggy white. Ja-Kal is in complete shock and knows nothing about what's going on.
Rath: Come, we must meet with the others.
Rath's armor fades away and he nonchalantly walks off. Ja-Kal looks on as his scholarly ally walks away unfazed by the fact that just killed one of his fellow guardians. Something catches Ja-Kal's eyes however a small piece of mirror glass from the Hot Ra right next to his feet shines at him, he looks down to his reflection in the mirror and he's horrified by what he sees. Ja-Kal's bandaids are even more weathered then before being almost black, his rib cage peaks through his skin, and much like Rath his eyes are also now a foggy white.
Ja-Kal then murmurs to himself "What has happened?". He looks down the hall to see Rath walking down the hall so we shuffles to catch up with them. The two post apocalyptic mummies walk into what once was Rath private study and laboratory and in it stands a small group of survivors two men and three women who do not appear to be undead. One of the survivors is a tall hispanic man with a thick beard and wearing a white sleeves shirt and work pants. On the side of his left shoulder he has a tattoo that says "RIP PACO" and below the words is a small boy standing over the defeated body of a bull, this is El Toro Fuerté. The other male survivor is an adult man but significantly smaller than El Toro, he wears a leather spiked vest and a hoodie. The man's face is covered with a paintball mask with a cracked visor along with his hood up. This is Wrench, an anarchist hacker from Deadsec.
While these two men are unfamiliar to Ja-Kal he's able to recognize only one of the women in the group. The woman is an adult Jade Chan wearing black long sleeve shirts and pants with an old tattered ball cap. Ja-Kal shuffles over to her, he is confused and frightened of what this world has become.
Ja-Kal: Jade?! What has happened? Where are your Uncles?! Where is Presley?
A familiar but distorted almost aetherial voice can be heard saying "Aiyah! Did you lose your sense? They have been dead for years!" Ja-Kal looks at the table to see a crystal ball and inside of it the floating translucent head of Uncle.
Ja-Kal: Chuckles?! What is going on?
The other two women then step out of the shadows. One woman is a tall woman who before the end of days once beautiful model of some kind with long jet black hair and tan skin. She wears a long sleeve black shirt and pants but one of her eyes is now a foggy white as it no longer works. This is the former master thief turned adventuring hero, Viper. The other is a young Asian woman with long hair on top but her sides are shaved, in her black hair she has pink streak. She wears a green shirt and jeans, her arms are covered in tattoos of dragons and various monsters. This is a grown up Juniper Lee, the Te Xuan Ze.
Viper: You alright Ja-Kal?
Juniper: You seem off.
Juniper crosses her arms while Viper begins to examine the mummy closely. But the voice of Uncle in a crystal ball yells at them "JA-KAL'S MEMORY LOSS NOT IMPORTANT!". The group of heroes turn the crystal ball on Rath's work bench and begin to discuss battle plans.
Uncle: Since the Apathocans betrayed Scarab and his allies they have opened the Western Gate causing even more damage to our world we must close it.
El Toro: Have you found away to do so?
Rath: As a matter of fact, we have…
Far away from the Sphinx in the ruins of San Francisco… Jackie, Tohru, and Armon walk out of a portal and begin to examine the horrors of the destroyed city. Armon now resembles his mummified form.
Jackie: What?
Tohru: According to Rath, Ja-Kal has been having nightmares about the end of the world.
Armon: He's told me he's having trouble sleeping. I just figured it was because we're dead…
Jackie: Tohru, how do we find Ja-Kal?
Tohru then pulls out an Egyptian Ahnk from his pocket and it begins to levitate and slowly begins to move down the road. The gentle giant waves them over to the follow the floating Ahnk. Jackie and Armon follow their ally and his unconventional way of finding their ally.
Armon: So how does the world end? Nuhn flooding the world? Apeb burning it?
Tohru: That I do not have an answer for. Be vigilant, we do not know what's out here.
Jackie: Isn't this a dream? Shouldn't we astral projections?
Tohru: You would think that yes but that is unfortunately not the nature of the spell. We are technically physical beings in this realm.
Armon: So we can die?
Tohru: That I am unsure but better safe than-
The sound of snarling from a nearby building on the floor can be heard. A large three headed beast scaly monster with tentacles for arms no legs jumps down slamming into a totaled car. This is a Margwa of the Dark Aether. The beast roars even louder, as it roars a horde of the undead come out various street corners and ram down buildings.
Back in the real world the Hot Ra rolls through the suburbs of San Francisco. Nefertina having tunnel vision focusing on the houses, Jade sits in shotgun while Khati sits in the back seat ready to pounce at any given moment.
Jade: So it's pretty obvious who took Presley but where do you think they took him?
Nefertina: Oh I can think of a few places!
The Hot Ra parks down the street from Presley's house. Nefertina opens the cock pit, she jumps out along with Khati. She looks at Jade telling her "Stay in the Hot Ra. No telling what has happened!". Nefertina closes the cockpit behind her and the two mummified feline warriors begin to jump through the trees and rooftops of the neighborhood. Jade begins to look threw the windshield of the Hot Ra and mischievous grin widens across her face.
Jade: *Pffft* As if!
Jade takes the keys out of her pocket and to the best of her knowledge locks the Hot Ra and begins to run in the direction of the Carnovan house. The young Chan hurdles over fences and even does some tree climbing herself just barely trailing behind the mummies. Jade is now on Presley's street she runs into the bush of one of Presley's next door neighbors. Jade is completely unseen she looks on to see Amanda at the front steps of her house with Officers Joe and Bob taking a statement. The mother of the reincarnated pharaoh has clearly been crying, her eyes are bloodshot red and glassy. Jade listens into the conversation as best she can.
Officer Bob: We got everyone in the area lookin' for Presley ma'am. San Fran's best are on the case!
Amanda takes a deep sigh and the tells the officer "Thank you officer.", but of course the paranoid Officer Joe has to go and ruin the moment.
Officer Joe: Presley hasn't been acting strange lately has he? He could be posse-
Office Bob: Alright that's enough out of you! Ma'am I promise you as soon as we know something you'll be the first to hear about it.
Amanda tries to hide her feelings as best she can by smiling and waving the officers off. On the rooftop Nefertina and Khati jump out from the roof window and are now perched waiting for the cops to leave.
Nefertina: No signs of struggle but I was right… Presley is gone! You were right to come to the Sphinx.
The police officers drive away and Amanda turns around begins to walk into her house but as she does she grabs her phone and makes a call.
Amanda: Come on pick up….
Both Jade and Nefertina watch her from their respective hiding places they can hear the dial tone ring ever so slightly but when the phone stops ringing they are unsure who she's calling until she leaves a voicemail.
Amanda: Hey Jackie…
Jade facepalms and Nefertina shakes her head knowing that this probably isn't the first time she's called him tonight while he's at the Sphinx inside of Ja-Kal. Amanda's voice is shakey and trembling with fear and anxiety. She is fighting back tears but failing, they run down her face.
Amanda: I'm not sure what you have going on or if you just went to bed but Presley is…. MIA and I really REALLY need support!
She hangs up the phone and walks back in her house an absolute mess. Nefertina then notices something rustling in the bushes of the house next door. She bounces down ready to strike only to realize it's Jade.
Nefertina: Jade! What in Duat are you doing here?
Jade: Presley's my friend too!
Nefertina: Rath was told by your Uncle that you can be a trouble maker! Come! We have to leave at once!
The mummified warrior puts Jade over her shoulder and begins to parkour back to the Hot Ra with Khati trailing behind. Back in the dreamworld Jackie, Tohru, and a now armored Armon are fighting for their lives in the streets of a destroyed San Francisco. Armon takes the hordes of undead head on alongside Tohru who using his massive side and magic pufferfish to fight zombies. Jackie using his martial arts prowess is able to fight the zombies efficiently, nearly every kick he is able to decapitate them and the harder he punches the harder they fall down.
Tohru turns to Armon who is now grappling with the Margwa, the sorcerer sumo incinerates the beast with his magic pufferfish right as all three of the creature's mouths begin to glow with energy. The two nod at each other, a small horde comes charging at them again only for them to also be incinerated by a large continous stream of mystic energy from Tohru's pufferfish yet again. Armon turns to Tohru and gives him a thumbs up with his golden arm.
Tohru: I am sorry about the shop the other day.
Armon: Don't be! It's not everyday you meet someone of the undead who doesn't want to kill you! Once we get Ja-Kal out of here why don't me and you get some grub. You like Beefy Burger?
Tohru with a small smile on his face tells the mummy "I'll eat anything but-", he is then interrupted as by Jackie yelling out to them "Tohru! Armon! I need your help!". They both turn around to see Jackie about to be cornered by a horde of zombies. The nod at each other and run to help their ally before he gets eaten alive. The two massive warriors use their size to their advantage and act as battering rams creating a path. Once they get to Jackie they all stand together. The zombies and the various eldritch creatures begin to circle and surround them. One of the undead finally leads the charge but is then taken down a singular bullet hole in it's forehead. The three heroes look confused at one another and then look up to see Wrench perched on the second floor of the office building right behind them. Wrench begins to open fire on the hordes mowing them down but that doesn't stop them from charging. Suddenly El Toro Fuerte and Juniper Lee jump from the floor as well both slamming down on the ground. Juniper immediately engages a fiery hellhound grabbing it by the jaws ripping it's bottom jaw in half. The former luchador looks back at two of his former companions with a stern look on his face. Jackie and Tohru see the tattoo memorializing his ward and adopted son.
Jackie: El Toro?
El Toro just smirks back at them and pulls out the Ox Talisman from his pocket, turns to see another Margwa charging at him but he does not care. Instead El Toro runs into the fray roaring back at the monsters. He jumps up high into the high and then crashes back down fist into the Margwa splitting straight down the middle. Fuerte yells back at the horde and begins to use debris as his own weapon to hold the hordes back.
Tohru: If El Toro is here then that means-
Viper then materializes seemingly out of thin air which catches the group off guard, Armon yells "A WITCH!" and goes to swat her like a bug but Jackie gets between Viper and Armon's golden arm. The mummified oaf looks confused.
Jackie: She's a friend!
Viper: Long time no talk dead man!
Jackie looks to see that however long into the future this the amount of time that has passed, it has not been kind to her. He first notices that she is now blind in one eye and it looks like she hasn't slept in days.
Jackie: Viper, what-
Viper: We'll talk later!
The former thief jumps into combat with the Snake Talisman in the left hand and pistol in the right. She keeps the hordes of monsters guessing in terms of where she will strike. Jackie and Tohru look at each other dumbfounded at the state of this world and what has happened to some of their friends but are even more surprised when they see the next batch of familiar faces. The three of them jump in the fight to help their post apocalyptic allies when fiery arrows begin to rain down from the sky. Armon looks up with a big smile on his face and he calls out to his brother-in-arms.
Armon: Ja-Kal! It's us! We've come to get you!
Ja-Kal comes slamming down to the ground and without even looking shoots down a purple haired beast that has became a vicitim of the undead plague roams the Earth. Ja-Kal looks up and smiles at Armon happy to see his friend but Armon looks at Ja-Kal and is confused has to how he's only been here a few hours but it looks like he's been here a few years.
Ja-Kal: Armon! Thank Ra, I thought Rath killed you!
Armon: Rath wishes, wait what do you mean-
Stepping out from the front of the office building is now an adult Jade Chan equipped with the Dragon Talisman and armored Rath burning and filleting the hordes of monsters that come charging at them. Armon looks in complete disbelief that out of all four of the mummies that Rath would one of the few to survive the apocalypse. Rath walks down the steps of the building and looks at Armon confused and immediately takes a defensive position.
Rath: How is this possible?
Ja-Kal: It's what I've been trying to tell you!
Jackie fights alongside El Toro and Viper like old times when a wall of fire has been created to separate the hordes of evil undead and the heroes. Jackie looks to see his niece all grown up, his eyes widen in shock and runs to hug her. Jackie he cries out "Jade!" he looks at Jade and she looks just as confused. The two however hug and then look at each other and Jackie looks not only confused but also sad because he knows that this was not meant to be Jade's destiny.
Jackie: Jade what happened?! You're supposed to be a super spy! Not a super survivor!
Jade: Things change I guess...
Juniper now stands on top of a pile of corpses of the undead and Lovecraftian creatures. The few the remain begin to runaway. She yells at the monsters cowering, "Yeah you better run!" and she lets out a fierce battle cry that comes from a place of a deep rage and sadness. The various heroes all begin to regroup at the front of the ran down office building each of them confused as to what is going on.
Jackie: What happened here?! How did you get the talismans back? Where is Uncle? Where is me?
Armon: Ja-Kal and Rath, why are you two more ugly then usual?
The other two mummies exchange looks while Ja-Kal is relieved that he has been discovered Rath looks disgusted at the comment Armon made. Juniper and Wrench are the most defensive out of the group she stands ready with her fists clenched and her bracelet glowing purple while Wrench still has his finger on the trigger.
Ja-Kal: How did you all get here?
Tohru: Sensei and Rath brought us here. This is all a dream, a very terrifying and unsettling dream. We must leave quickly.
Suddenly Jackie, Tohru, Armon, and Ja-Kal all grab the sides of their heads in pain and fall to the ground. The other three original members of the J-Team look to the side to see Rath holding up the crystal ball that contains Uncle's soul. Uncle's transparent head takes shape in the mystical orb with a fiery look on his face. The balls glows an angry red color while Rath has apathetic expression on his face while those he think are imposters squirm on the ground like worms.
Uncle: Imposters will NOT BE TOLERATED!
Back in the real world, all four of them begin to yell out and writhe in pain. The real Uncle and Rath run back into the resting chambers of the mummies and they look on fearful at their allies. Uncle crouches down to Jackie's level and he sees his nephew practically clawing for life. Armon and Tohru are trying the best to stand up but fail, the Sumo is able to open his eyes just enough the peek into the real world for only moments before falling flat on his face.
Rath: What has happened here?
Uncle: They are no doubt fighting the evil that has trapped Ja-Kal in his nightmares! We must act with quickly!
The two of them immediately begin to cast a spell in the hopes of protecting their allies in the dream world. Back in the nightmare however the adult Jade Chan stands between the post apocalyptic sorcerer tag team.
Jade: UNCLE STOP! IT MIGHT BE THEM!
Uncle: WE WATCHED THEM DIE IN FRONT OF US! THESE ARE IMPOSTERS!
For a brief moment the four heroes that were affected by Uncle's spell glow green allowing them to resist the spell that much longer. The group try to stand up but inevitably all fall to the ground are knocked out cold. The group of heroes look at the two sorcerers who have been acting as their leader for sometime now. Both Rath and Uncle look at Jade who is now checking her Uncle's pulse to make sure he's still alive.
Uncle: Rath, tie them up with Kan-Ra bindings... Even though they are imposters, we must question them...
Rath then creates a fist with his left hand causing black magic belts to form from the air wrapping around the unconscious heroes and floats them into the building. One by one the war party begins to walk into the building to unwind and recoup for their next mission.
