Couples Costume
Becky looked impatiently at the poster for the upcoming Halloween party. Every year, Eden Academy organized a Halloween party and since she had been admitted, Becky had not missed a single one. She knew that this year was going to be exceptional, since it would be the last one before she left the academy. She had everything planned. She had the perfect witch costume and the perfect date. Everything will be perfect.
"Becky ! You're coming !"
Becky looked at Anya who was waiting for her. The school day was over and Becky's driver was waiting to drive them back.
"Only a week left until the party," Becky said. "Do you know what you're going to dress up as?"
"Bondman."
Becky frowned. It was always the same costume that Anya wore and Becky would never understand why she loved this cartoon so much.
"Again ? You don't want to change. This will be our last ball."
But Anya did not seem interested. Becky refrained herself from sighing in despair. She looked afar and saw Damian with Emile and Ewen. She had heard Damian talking about the costume he had chosen. It was the main character of the latest fashionable literary saga. Heathcliff Sinclair. A tormented romantic hero who lived two centuries ago.
Becky's eyes lit up. Heathcliff fell in love with Charlotte. She had found the perfect costume for Anya. Not only, she and Damian would matches, but they would finally confess their feelings to each other. Because even if she refused to admit it, Becky knew that Anya had been in love with Damian since their first year at Eden. And you would have to be blind not to see Damian's feelings for Anya. She had decided, she would help her friend with the boy she loved.
"Tomorrow I'm taking you shopping and we'll find you a costume."
Becky grinned from ear to ear. She felt like she was in an episode of Berlint In Love. She was really looking forward to the party.

A week had passed and it was finally Halloween party. Becky was in the great hall, decorated in Halloween colors for the occasion. She was accompanied by Anthony, her date, and Anya. She had managed to find Anya the same lavender dress that Charlotte wore on the cover of the third volume. All that was missing was Damian and the party could finally begin. She saw Anya fidgeting next to her.
"What's wrong ?" She asked.
"This dress is uncomfortable. I am ridiculous."
"No, you're not. You are very pretty. Right Anthony ?"
He nodded. Anya made a face. Becky remembered their shopping trip and how difficult it had been for her to change Anya's mind about the Bondman costume. She saw Damian enter the room in his Heathcliff costume and a huge smile appeared on her lips.
"Perfect !" she cried.
"What ?" Anya asked.
"No… Nothing."
Anya should not know what she had planned, she thought. Otherwise, she would leave the party without seeing Damian. Becky waved at him.
"Damian !" She called.
He approached and opened his eyes wide when he saw Anya's costume.
"Look, Anya," Becky said, feigning ignorance. "Your costumes match."
Damian and Anya blushed.
"You look beautiful," he told her.
Anya smiled shyly and Damian looked at her lovingly. Becky had never seen him look at anyone like that. It was obvious that they were made for each other.
"Do you want to dance ?" He asked.
Anya nodded and took the hand that Damain held out to her. They headed for the dance floor and they slowly danced to the music.
"I'm sure it's all thanks to you," Anthony said.
"Maybe."
She turned to him and winked.
"You won't tell them anything, okay ?"
He nodded. Becky looked once again at the dance floor. Damian and Anya seemed lost in their own world. She smiled dreamily, thinking that she was witnessing the beginning of her best friend's love story. Her dreamy smile became one of satisfaction. And it was all thanks to her, she told herself.
