So starting off this one shot will take things from the comic and show version of the walking dead as each have their strengths and weaknesses. It'll be a modern day crossover where the world has gone to shit and it's all about survival now.
Also to starts things off Bell's dad will be the main character for a bit since he'll be Rick and I don't think I've seen a fanfic where he's the MC.
Anyway I hope you'll enjoy these mini stories that'll some day be fully fledged.
Silver stumbled down the road. His hand was clutched to his side as a piece of rebar had pierced it almost an hour earlier.
Behind him was a massive horde of walkers number in the thousands of not tens of thousands. This massive horde was the result of two hordes meeting up. Something which he unintentionally did.
He had been racing back to Alexandria in the hopes of stopping Aki from killing Negan. Negan had to stay alive so they could go back to what they once were.
So they could bring civilization back and not go back to the animals they were. The war was over. The killing was done.
Silver had to set a good example for his son. His son who almost put a bullet in Negan's head while he laid in a hospital bed after Silver slit his throat.
Silver saw the bridge come into view. The bridge he and the four communities worked so hard to build. They had their ups and downs along the way as everyone had to learn to work together.
But now Silver had to destroy it to save everyone. A here of this size was absolutely tear through Hilltop. A sea of the dead whose moans and groans would be heard for miles would tear it down and kill everyone inside.
Silver boot stepped on the wood and he kept moving. He had been seeing hallucinations of the people he's lost. Hallucinations of his best friend. Hallucinations of wife. Hallucinations of Raul who saved his life when this all started.
Each giving him words of comfort as Silver slowly bled out. As he slowly died.
Silver's hand brushed across the support beam as he pushed himself forward. His body felt extremely weak and his eyelids were heavy. He was unnaturally pale as he was bleeding himself dry.
He'd die if he didn't get help soon.
Silver stepped on the bridge and turned around. His plan was to have the weight of the herd bring the bridge down and have the current from the river below wash them away.
As he took a few more steps forward he turned around and his eyes widened in horror and despair.
"No...no...it's gonna hold"
Silver turned and himself back around and forced his body to move. He was slow. Slow than the Walker that was behind him and catching up.
Once the Walker was close enough it pulled its head back before launching forward aiming to take a chunk out of Silver's neck.
Silver noticed it at the last second but was too weak to do anything. The Walker's teeth inched closer and closer to Silver's neck.
Before a crossbow bolt hit it in the head killing it. Silver looked to his left to the woods and on the bank of the river.
Standing there was Bete with his crossbow. He aimed and fired another bolt killing another Walker in front of Silver.
Everyone else that Silver knew and loved appeared alongside Bete. Alfia, Aki, Gareth, Welf, Tsubaki, and many others.
Even his son Bell who wore his old sheriffs hat stood on the bank.
"Dad!" Bell yelled as he took off running.
"He's hurt!" Alfia yelled as she took off after Bell.
"Fire your weapons! Draw them away!" Tsubaki yelled.
Gunshots rang out in the air as Gareth and Tsubaki ran after Bell as well. Bete stood on the bank and reloaded his crossbow.
"No, no stop…don't do this…not for me" Silver muttered waving his hand.
Nobody listened and more shots were fired into the air. Silver looked back to the bridge and saw a Walker knock over a box a dynamite.
He knew what he had to do.
Brandishing his Colt Python Silver's life flashed before his eyes. His childhood, his wedding day, the day his son was born, the day he woke up from his coma and into this hellscape. Everyone good and bad memory he ever experienced flashed through his mind as he raised his gun.
Bell kept running his sheriffs hat had fallen off his head a long time ago but he didn't care. His dad was hurt he had to get to him.
He could see the herd through the trees. He was almost there once he got to the road he could push past them and make it to his dad.
Bete fired another bolt into a walkers head. He would cover Silver for as long as he could.
Silver turned his head and looked at Bete directly in his eyes. He gave him a small nod which told Bete all he needed to know.
"Watch over them for me"
Silver turned his head back, his sights lined up with the dynamite.
Silver the man who had been through hell and back to find his family. To protect the ones he loved from this cruel and unjust world. Smiled.
"I found them"
A gunshot rang out, and the bridge blew up.
"DAD!!" Bell yelled as Alfia grabbed him and held him back.
The Walker kept marching forward drawn by the loud noise the explosion gave off. They stepped into the fire and began to burn before falling off the broken bridge and into the water below.
Bell struggled in Alfia's grip trying to break free. Gareth grabbed him as well but the two were still struggling to hold the boy back.
"NO! NO! LET GO OF ME!" Bell cried as he fell to his knees.
Alfia and Garth held him to hold him back and give him comfort.
Bete looked at the scene in silence. Silver the man who had been his best friend and brother was gone.
Bete blinked trying to hold the tears back but failed. Tears streamed down his cheeks as he turned and walked away his crossbow hanging by his side.
Today was a day no one would forget.
Today was the day.
Silver Cranel died.
Well that's it for this one-shot obviously things will change and not everything was set in stone but I wanted to write this down so I didn't start another story.
Anyway I hope you enjoyed and let me know what you think.
