Quick announcement with this collection of stories is that they'll show events that happen early or events that'll occur far into the story. Just take the timeline with a grain of salt, as most of these one-shots will probably be changed later down the line.
Alright, with this crossover, it'll just be the lightsabers and the force with lightsaber-resistant materials thrown in to balance it out a little.
In this one, Demeter took in Zeus and Bell after the Zeus and Hera familia were weakened, but the circumstances are different. The OEBD is already dead in this one, but a bigger threat is in the west. Believe it or not, there's actually a place in Danmachi called the Empire, and you'll never believe what they have in this story.
That's right, dark Jedi, and in a war between Orario and the Empire, it ended in a stalemate with the Zeus and Hers familia as well as the rest of Orario battered and bruised.
Our story starts up with Demeter taking in Zeus and Bell while the rest of Zeus's familia, minus Zald, transfers to Hera's to sit and wait on the border of the empire.
Alfia stays as well, as she and Zald are Jedi and plan to train Bell once the time is right. Anyway, with that out of the way, let's begin.
Bell walked through the ruined Jedi temple of old. A long time ago, his people were a grand order that promoted peace and prosperity.
Many called them peacekeepers as a Jedi's presence could calm an intense situation down. Or if a battle happened, they could change the tide of battle.
They were able to do so thanks to their unique weapon and the force. The force was alive in everyone and everything, but only a few could use its full potential.
The Jedi were technically a subclass of all races. Any race could become one if they were well attuned to the force.
The Jedi came from all walks of life but believed the most in upholding peace. But today, few Jedi remain.
In the far West, an Empire comprised of dark Jedi emerged and had been waging war for decades. Each side suffered heavy losses from the normal foot soldiers to the Jedi themselves.
What was once a grand order of nearly 50,000. Only a few thousand remain.
Bell continued his walk into the old and ruined temple. Hoping to find traces of his culture and ancestry.
The stillness of the temple unnerved him, and he felt like he was being watched. But he kept his calm and continued deeper into the temple.
It had fallen to ruin, and the once mighty statues of the Jedi sentinels. The sacred guardians of the temples and Jedi order were broken or full of cracks.
Bell felt sad knowing he wouldn't be able to experience the golden era of his people. That was long gone and was now in a fight for its very survival.
He walked into the library and found it dark and filled with cobwebs and spiders. He smelled a damp like smell coming from the carpets.
The ceiling must've broken somewhere inside, and rain must've gotten in. Bell unclipped the lightsaber that was at his side and ignited it, having the purple blade illuminate the area.
He began walking deeper into the library, hearing his footsteps cause tiny squelching noises. The books on the shelves were either ruined by water damage or stolen by looters.
Bell sighed and was about to turn back around when he felt the need to keep going. He listened to this feeling and continued on his way until reaching a shelf located all the way in the back.
Most of the bookshelf was ruined, but he saw one area covered by a fallen shelf. He used the force and removed it, finding a row of books perfectly intact.
He smiled and, grabbed his backpack off his shoulders and stuffed the books inside. Once he was done, he slung the backpack over his shoulder once more and proceeded to leave.
Bell may not ever see the Jedi order rise to the power it held in the golden age. Nor will he ever know much about the order as a whole.
But with these books, even if they had nothing but ways to make a meal. Were valuable to Bell as it provided him with an insight into how this place might've been run.
He knew one day he'd have to head to the West himself and help fight in the war. But before he had to do that, he wanted to seek out as much knowledge about his order as he could.
He wanted to know his people and where he came from so he could be proud of his way of life.
Stepping outside the temple, Bell had already clipped his lightsaber back to his belt. But when he exited, he saw a small group of bandits outside.
"See, boss, I told ya someone went in there!"
The tall man raised his hand, signaling the shorter one to be quiet. Bell examined his surroundings and counted six of them.
They were armed with axes and bows. They were made from rocks and wood. With the axes heads jagged and crooked.
"Now, kid, I know you might be someone who just hit a big break finding any books in there. They're very valuable. But you're gonna have to hand them over," The man said.
Bell stared impassively at the group of bandits. They were pale and malnourished. Their weapons cheap and poorly made. These weren't run-of-the-mill bandits.
Just desperate men trying to get some money. They didn't need to die.
"And if I don't?" Bell calmly asked.
"Then we'll have to beat you up and take them."
"Why not kill me?"
"I don't like killing kids."
"But you don't mind beating them?"
"Better to take a few hits and walk away than die."
A messed up philosophy but correct nonetheless. Bell assumed this man must've had an abusive household growing up.
"I do not wish to harm any of you. Perhaps we can come to a compromise?" Bell asked.
"Yeah, it's called you give us those books, and we don't beat your ass brat!" The shorter man yelled.
The bigger one raised his hand. "Quiet Ahab. Let's listen to what the kid has to say. So what do you propose?"
"Well, you all seem hungry and desperate. I can sense you're not the type to normally partake in activities like these?" Bell asked.
"You'd be correct. Our village was razed to the ground by Rakians, and we were the only survivors. Haven't had much to eat in the last couple of days."
"I'm sorry to hear that. War is a nasty business. So much pain and suffering caused for no reason. I assume the six of you were farmers?" Bell asked.
"Yeah. But we worked in the town militia as well."
"What were your crops?"
"Wheat, apples, carrots, and grapes. Why do you ask?"
"I'm associated with the Demeter familia. She is always welcoming to a helping hand whenever available. If you do not know, she's a food production familia, and her crops help feed Orario. If you're willing to work for it, Demeter will provide you with room and board as well as the strength to fight if you wish to take some of your anger out on the Rakians. As long as you follow her rules and treat everyone with respect, she will accept you."
The tall man stood in thought for a moment. "And why give us this opportunity? We were just about to rob you and leave you on the side of the road?"
"I can sense you're not bad people. If you were, you would've attacked me the second I stepped out of that door. Instead, you gave me a choice. So, in return, I give you one."
The tall man nodded and placed his hand on his chin. He gave it a thought for a moment as the other men were waiting for his order.
"How do we know this isn't a ploy? How do we know you're not saying this to let our guards down?"
"Because if I wanted to harm you, I would've," Bell answered, moving part of his cloak to the side and showing his lightsaber.
The man gulped and felt a chill run down his spine. He almost fought against someone with the force.
"Right, I guess we'll take you up on that offer. No need for us to fight against someone like you," The man nervously said.
Bell nodded before letting go of his cloak and reaching into his backpack. He grabbed a few apples and some jerky before tossing it to the group. He grabbed the water skin that was attached as well and handed it to them.
"Here, eat these. Orario is not far, and you seem hungry. Once we arrive at the Wheat Manor, Persephone will get you situated."
Bell began walking away, and the group of men followed him. Today was the day Bell unknowingly got lifelong men loyal to him and Demeter.
But today also showed Bell that violence doesn't always have to be the answer. Sometimes, showing a person kindness can go a long way.
But only sometimes.
Well, that's it for this one. Sorry if it's a little messy, but these one shots are early rough drafts of stories that'll come out eventually.
Anyway, I hope you enjoyed it, and I'll see you later.
