AN: Hi all, this story is going to be a collection of random Devil Fruits that I either come up with on my own or I take existing ones from the main canon story and try to expand upon their abilities. So without further ado, here is the first in the series.
Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune
The Inu Inu no Mi, Model: Kyubi no Kitsune is a Mythical Zoan-type Devil Fruit that allows the user to transform into a nine-tailed fox.
Strengths
The main strength of their fruit is that it transforms the user into a mythological kitsune, complete with nine large fox tails. As such, they gain all the abilities of one, including the ability to disguise themselves as anyone they like, allowing them to impersonate them. The clothing of the target individual can also be imitated during the transformation.
The user is also granted enhanced strength, durability, speed and agility, powerful teeth and jaws, retractable claws, stealth, enhanced senses, and enhanced climbing and jumping capabilities while in their Man-Beast and Full-Beast forms.
Weaknesses
The user of their fruit will have all of the standard devil fruit weaknesses.
Awakening
Upon a successful awakening, the user undergoes a dramatic transformation and unlocks a new set of abilities. As well as having further increased physical abilities that typically come with an awakening of a Zoan Devil Fruit, the user of this devil fruit unlocks the ability to use the fabled kitsune-bi(Fox Fire), that kitsune are said to possess. This blue fire is incredibly hot, and depending upon how much power the user puts into it, it is capable of seriously burning their opponent, or causing a concussive burst of fiery energy capable of vaporizing bone and flesh. The awakened user will also be capable of using it in all their forms.
The users Full-Beast and Man-Beast Hybrid forms undergo a number of changes as well. In their Full-Beast forms, where the user would be able to assume the appearance of nine-tailed fox with brown fur and white tips on their tails, now their entire body is covered in the Fox Fire, save for their hair, the fur is pure white, and their body will be marked with a number of elaborate, tattoo-like markings. The 9 fox tails will also be less bulky and more lean, and the users eyes will be blood red irises with the slit pupils foxes naturally possess.
The User's Man-Beast Form Hybrid is different as well. Their body will be covered in tribal tattoo markings like their Full-Beast form was, their skin/fur will be white, and their arms, legs as tail will be covered in fox-fire. The user will also possess long fiery ears on top of their head, made out of the blue fox-fire. Their eyes will be the same as their Full-Beast form and possess the leaner fox tails as well.
The user will also have a stream of floating fire wraps around the user's shoulders in both forms, which is typical of Awakened Zoan's, though their fire will still be blue, like their Fox-Fire.
Awakened Techniques
Grand Fireball: The user summons a huge fireball, either on the top of their hand or blow out from their mouth, and it creates a huge explosion on impact which was capable enough to taking out dozens of opponents at once. The user can also use this technique to produce a stream of fire from their mouth, like a dragon breathing fire, in order to cover a wider area.
Flame Vortex: The user generates five blue fireballs of Fox Fire at tips of their tails, and with a central orb circled by the smaller ones on their tails. These fireballs then begins to rotate at high speeds, and is hurled at the enemy at tremendous speed as a sort of giant burning saucer. The power of this attack is fearsome, for it generates significant explosive force alongside its burning power, and could easily leave lesser opponents as a pile of ash. It is powerful enough to destroy Navy Galleon with one use of the attack.
Burning Iron Fist: The user ignites their fist in flames to enhance their punches to have a burning fiery effect.
Flame Spear: The User forms a large spear/arrow of fire and throws it at their opponent, impaling and then immolating said opponent.
Robe of the Flame Emperor: A technique where the user concentrates their Fox-Fire and covers their body in an royal set of robes woven from their fox fire. The fox fire also burns anything that comes in contact with him thus granting the user enhanced defense along sending out waves of fire and heat that burn anything near him though those powerful enough can resist the flames. The heat is so great that bullets will vaporize and cannon fire with detonate prematurely if they get within 10 meters of the user, while any opponent attempting to engage in close-quarters combat will find their skin burned and seared from the intense heat, and may even burst into flames if they get too close.
Flame Katana: The user can cover their katana in flames. This will allow them to send out blades of fox-fire with every slash, and any cut or stab an opponent takes will char and obliterate their internal organs.
Yasaka Magatama: the user is able to rapidly produce a number of magatama projectiles, which are composed entirely of the Fox-Fire flames. Upon impact, victims are forcefully thrown off of their feet and quickly incinerated.
Author note: If anyone is having trouble imagining what the awakened forms look like, a good example of how they would look is the character Kuyo from Yokai Academy. His character is sort of the inspiration for how I imagine the awakening of this devil fruit might go.
